Hi Lauren! I have just ignored my kids (I have 4) for the past hour as I have read through your blog…Alexa’s Story and your trip to Disney! I am new to stamping and love your website! You share so much of your life, your are an inspiration! You also have a gift for writing! We spent 2 weeks in Disney this summer and I was so happy ( in a misery loves company, sort of way!) to hear that I was not the only one that thought Disney was hectic and overwhelming! It was so hot I can’t even begin to tell you! I will never go back during the summer! I was feeling like and aweful mom and wife as I have been telling my tale of woe about our trip! We just got back from my son’s Make A Wish trip and it was a disaster. Due to poor planning he never got to fulfill his wish. He spent the majority his 5 days in Orlando at the villa shooting lizards with a water pistol. The worse part was arriving back home and being stranded at the airport with no ride home. My child is so disappointed and I have never cried so much in my life.

We leave next week for my son’s Make A Wish trip to Disney and Give Kids the World Village. I am a little anxious traveling so far with him, but he is so very excited! I just wanted to let you know that I am so proud of you. You are such a young mother. It makes me proud that you stepped up to the plate and did the right thing.
You sound like a wonderful mother. you should be very proud. I will be praying for your family. I am a mother of three. Boy 27 yesterday, girl 20 and another girl 17.
My 17 year old just graduated high school on friday. Her name is Melissa. I just wanted you t know that she will be attending college in the fall. She wants to be a
pediatric oncology nurse. Sorry if the spelling was incorrect. I have printed this story
for her to read. I have truly been blessed with a wonderful family. I had a still born baby in 1986 his name was Andrew. I know that God does work in mysterious ways.
God had always been there for me and I know he will be there for you too.

your blog is always fun to visit. i,m concerned about your frequent headaches. i have suffered from migraines for years. my dr. gave me a rx for maxalt melts and they have helped alot. a small compressed powder that when placed in your mouth disaloves instantly. if i lay down with an ice pack for about a half hour…headache gone!most insurances cover this. i also was diagnosed with sleep apnea. once i got my cpap machine, my headaches have drastictly diminished. good luck with your family. such a trial for all of you. we have a severly disabled child and know all the effort and work it takes from everyone. thank goodness you have your crafts for a relent. me too.

Hi Lauren,

Thank you for sharing your Disney trip.

We are going next month through “Memories of Love.” They provide Disnsey Vacation to families that have a parent with a life threatening condition. (I have a cancer called angiosarcoma)

My daughter is so thrilled. She has down syndrome to her Cinderella is real. She has been dreaming of this her whole life.

We are so excited, I can hardly wait to go. What a thrill to be able to finally focus on something positive

Wow! I just read through all of this and looked at all the wonderful pictures! I’m glad that the kids all had a blast! My daughters friend did Make A Wish last spring and it was the time of her life too! Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventure with all of us!!!

Dear Lauren, Hello i read your blog about your daughters Make A Wish Vacation to DW. I was a Wish grantor for MAW and I felt it is an honor to grant a Wish for a child and there family. I am so glad you were selected to recieve a wish and were able to go on the actual trip. I would like to do what I can to make your lovily daughters and son and husbands life a little easier. I am not with MAW at this moment and I know live in Henderson Nevada, I still have lots of connections and am able to do things most human woman can not. I can pull a rabitt out of my hat when I need to . God has given me that ability and i choose to do it for good purpuses not to get person gain I love people and especially Children and I also love animals who i feel are 4legged family members. Well let me know what would help you out and what your daughter would love to have or do .I will do every thing in my power to help you and your family recieve that dream or wish. Since i am not currently with MAW I can do things that you cant while you are a wish grantor since it would be unfair to the other children so please contact me and let me know what i can do and i have lots of friends that help me when i need them to Ok so let me do some thing nice for you and the Children,since when the MAW Child has sisters and Brothers they also get included as to not leave them out also if you just want to talk about things Im here for you and your family . I worked with the coroner here in Hendreson Nevada which means you have to be the type of person who cares about others and i am very good at that and I believe in God very much so . Wow Lauren,
You really should write a book. I never knew all that went into Make a Wish dreams. So sorry about the rain!! Can’t figure out why they did not have accomadations for all including your MIL. Vacations are always stressful. So much to do, little time, little sleep..Hope you are able to get some time away with Jason! The smiles on your kids, ( I am sure Noah enjoyed ) most of it, even thru the pouting..lol was worth it. You are so right..we do so many things for our kids, and never look back. I would have been the same way with the rollercoaster…I was that way when my son, who was 12 at the time, wanted to go on it…But he went..and had a blast…I am the one with height problems.
