Saturday Sketch!

Apr 21, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

Saturday Sketch challenge is here. Are you ready for another one?

Sorry its late –SCS was down, and when that happens my blog goes down too! VERY frustrating!

So, while it was down I went shopping!!!! More on that later- I was very bad! My shopping venture will be a whole new post-trust me!

I’m also working this weekend on getting a new customized banner posted from Beth (aka My Precious). Lots of excitment going on over here.

OK, OK back to the original topic here- the sketch…….hope you like it and give it a try.

All Dressed Up!

dress up

This sketch is originally from this card. Now, I know its “different” but the point of a sketch is inspiration, not neccessarily CASE-ing it completely. I sketch most of my designs and ideas first. It really gives me a starting point, and keeps me focused.

For this card I used another one of the Bitzy Bugz. I wanted her very “girly” and some bling for her as well. She is the Dress Up one found here! I am truly enjoying these cute images. I also got this paper there too, its by Flair designs. Gotta love Paisley!

I have been dying to use my paper frills by Doodlebug.  Aren’t they cute?  The jewels are by Prima.  Polka dot ribbon is May Arts. WHEW! Alot of linking in that one. Sorry about that, but if I am to enable you I don’t want you to be frsitrated by searching for the goods you “NEED”-KWIM?

OK well I actually have MORE stamping to do, and must go post to all my PSF, and my gallery on SCS. Time has just not been on my side this last week. I’m so sorry for you all whom I have neglected!

Cyber hugs, and stay tuned for more later, on my shopping must haves! LOL!

Invasion of the Bitzy Bugz!!!

Apr 20, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

I’ve been bit by the bitzy bugs! LOL!

I just got these  ADORABLE Bitzy Bugz in the mail 2 days ago. Christine from C.C. Designs created them. Aren’t they ALL so cute??? I even have the shadow stamps and sentiments , which I am LOVIN!!!!

SO thats the “buzzzz” on some of what I’ve been up to. I’ve been working hard to create a sample with each bug (11 total)that Christine is selling. They are so super cute! You will notice that 2 are missing! One is being used for my Saturday sketch tomorrow, and another is too “dirty” to post here (hint hint).  Don’t worry you’ll see it eventually (another hint).

So here we go…..

Home Run!

baseball

This was the very first card I did using the Play Ball bug. Since Noah is starting T-Ball I’m stuck on baseball stuff. For some reason I only thing these colors when I think baseball cards.

Anyone have any other color selections to “throw” at me? I’m open!

Don’t want to always use blue/red, KWIM?

I bought the baseball bkgd and sports chatter stamps (which for the life of me I cannot find there anymore, maybe sold out??) at Cornish Heritage Farms. I love all the sentiments it has. So that was a good starting point!

I absolutely love doing boy/masculine cards lately. I NEVER make them, so I am finding that increasing my selection, and challenging myself has been alot of fun! Speaking of fun, how do you like my baseball! I made it by my big girl self! LOL! It was really easy.

Here is what I did. A “quickie” tutorial (he!he!)

how-to-make-a-baseball.jpg

I cut a circle from Whisper White cardstock using my coluzzle.

Using the then open image, I put 1/2 on the baseball. Used my journal tip of my marker, to trace the perfect “stitch line”.

Pretty cool huh?

Supplies-

Stamps by C.C. Designs Play Ball bug, shadow stamp Stamps by Cornish heritage farms-baseball bkgd, sports chatter

Ink by SU! Brown Stazon, chocolate chip, craft white, real red, brocade blue

cardstock by SU!-whisper white, close to cocoa, real red, brocade blue

accessories-coluzzle, tim holtz distress ink, prismacolor pencils, gamsol, sponge

GET DIRTY!

dirty

This is a case of a rub-on gone bad! LOL! I really hate those freakin things. My Basic Grey rub-on’s “somehow” rubbed off while in the package! As you can see-“genuine” is missing the “e” and there are a few “other” mishaps that I won’t mention. Think of it as like a Where’s Waldo? Find the missing pieces of rub on! I tried to salvage what I could but was really ticked off.

Anyway, this is the Mud Pie bug. I literally took my ink pad and just went wild! I though it was cute. Looks like my kids on a bad day breaking into our fridge. I’m sure many of you mom’s can relate!

Supplies-Stamps-Mudd Pie bug by C.C. designs, SU! just so sayings (I think)

cardstock by SU-cool Caribbean, whisper white, choc. chip, certain celery

Holy Cow Rub ons by  Basic grey, hardware by JoAnn’s craft essentials, brads by SU!, ribbon by AC, tab punch by SU!, prisma color pencils, gamsol

FOUND TREASURE!

treasure

Well I found a quick way to use up some bling that been collecting dust! I thought it was like “found treasure”, hence the name. Piled on some glue, and poured them on.

Another card I have “color” issues with. To me pirates are red, and black or chocolate! I can’t NOT use red!

I had this “map” paper from a DCWV Fall stack, so this was the perfect time to rip it up! LOL!

And thats what I did. Ripped up, crumbled, smoothed, DTP, and stuck it down. Cute boy card. I think this will go to Shane. As will the other boy cards.

Supplies Ahoy Matey bug and shadow by C.C. Designs, Ahoy Matey set by SU! cardstock by SU whisper white, real red, choc. chip

 ink-Tim Holtz distress ink, stazon

accessories-bling from AmyR, map paper by DCWV fall stack, prisma color pencils, gamsol, circle punches, and color spritzer

SEI Hugs & Bugz

thankshugs

What can I say, I LOVE SEI paper. I have had this one for over a year now! Had to use it. I think its the groovy collection-but not positive.

I love the Love Bugz. I had this sentiment from CTMH, and thought it was PERFECT- “A Hug is like a boomerang, you get it back right away” The set is called The gift of love.

The other card uses the Cutie Patootie bug. And she is cute! The shadows, and Thank you is also by C.C. designs. All images colored with prismacolor pencils, and gamsol.

Splash of get well wishes

bath

When you are sick sometimes you just need a nice bubble bath! That was my though here! I love the bubbles. This bug has so many cute possibilites! Its like my favorite one.

All the stuff here (tubby time bug, shadow stamp, scalloped circle, cuttlebug spots & dots, icicle stickles) was from All That Scraps.

Ribbon is American Crafts, the tag is from JoAnn craft essentials, and the bling brad is by MM. Spritzed some color, and added a sentiment by curvy verses. Colored the bug with prisma color pencils, and gamsol.

Here comes the Bride-

bride

Isn’t she just so sweet? Bling Bride is her name!

I cut out her veil with a hobby blade, and placed some white organdy ribbon behind it, so it was like a real one! The jewels on her headpiece are by Heidi swapp. As is the bling on the ring. I had the wedding bkgd sentiment and thought it was perfect! NO CLUE who makes it. This is for my SIL-she just sent her save-the date announcements.

The flower is by Bazzill, and the 2 toned ribbon is by May Arts.

Also used heart blocks cuttlebug folder. Colored in with my prisma color pencils & gamsol.

Oh! mama-

baby

What a cute baby buggy bump. Remember that tongue twister game-rubber baby buggy bumpers! That all I kept saying as I made this one. I love the colors. Chatterbox paper is a big time favorite of mine. I love these colors for these bugs. I generally don’t use much orange, but this was perfect! I have alot of pregger friends. Thank God Jason is fixed! I’m trying to lose my baby bump from having  kids, don’t need anymore! LOL!

Follow you dreams…..

ballerina

How many girls dream of becoming a ballerina when they are little! I love these colors, and had to use them for my Ballerina Bug. Purple is SOOOOO me! Love it, but dont use it much for card making. So here is my purple challenge to myself. Stickles adorn her TuTu.

Thanks for viewing all my buggy creations.

Check in tomorrow for my Saturday Sketch, and another bugz sample!

Saturday Sketch & More Samples with Alexa’s set

Apr 15, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

I made 2 more samples with Alexa’s set. They were done to be sent out with the contest. I wanted to make a Thank You, and a Hi one.

This one, the Thank You is for Tracey-

butterfly thank you

I love pink and black, and wanted to use the butterfly from Alexa’s set. I used Pebbles pearlescent pastels to color the butterfly. I then filled in the hearts with liquid pearls. Such a cool item I rarely use. Gives it that extra dimension and shimmer. They are hard for me to get an “even” distribution when you squeeze it out, so I think I need to practice more! LOL!

I then used my Sakura glitter pen to draw the flutter trail.

Had to use my Sprite Prima’s!

The ribbon is from Jody’s ribbon share.

The circle with the flower and thank you sentiment is Lizzie Anne Designs Funky Floral.

Cardstock is by SU!- basic black, whisper white, pretty in pink. As are the black/pink brads.

This was the other one I did

alexa hi

This inspiration was from the decorative chipboard I had from K & co. Its called Anastasia’s Attic. I wanted to have sparkly flowers and leaves just like the chipboard. So I used my Funky Floral (again) and used heat & stick powder with some old retired SU! Glitter. The jewels in the center are by Heidi Swap.

The base is also a retired SU color- mauve mist. I layered Perfect Plum. They are similar in layout. I wanted the HI to be the focus of the card. I hope she likes it. I did this right before we left for Disney and time was not on my side. There are things I would do differently but Oh well. At least I got it done.

Thanks for looking-

Ident-A-Kid tags! Mytime style

Apr 15, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

So/ making these plastic “luggage” tags are HOT right now! Mine aren’t just for “fun” they are going to serve an important purpose! On the back of these tags I included vital info for each child. So they are my Ident-a Kid tags. I also have these plastic cards we had taken at the police station with their photos, info and fingerprints.

It has their name, DOB, ALLERGIES, height and weight, our names & cell numbers, hotel we are staying in, our address and doctors #’s. Alexa has a little more info as you can imagine, but its all important if someone found her and there was an emergency!

They will clip on the kids clothing. They will be in plain sight just in case the child forgets. I think you would want to look at it if you found a lost child.

We have told our kids if you get lost, and can’t find us, find a Disney Character and show them your tag. Now I know there are personnel all through the park, and once we see what these people wear we will also take note. At my kids ages I think they will more easily remember to find a Disney character than a person. Especially Alexa who WILL NOT talk to anyone!

I got mine at Walmart- 12pk for $1. Im hoping we won’t need them for anything! But its better to be safe than sorry! My mom thinks there is too much info! What if someone kidnaps them! Well heaven forbid, but I really want every opportunity to be listed if they get lost to be found. Mothers!!!!

This place is HUGE, and although we have a one adult to one child ratio it can be crowded and things can happen. I know I probably sound insane, but Ive learned YOU can be THAT person!

Now about the tags-

Here is Alexa’s

alexa tag

She of course had to have her Alexa set and use the Groovy girlby MissyB Designs!!! I used Rhapsody designer paper by 3 bugs in a rug, Cardstock is SU! whisper white, orchid, Caribbean, and certain celery. The alpha’s on all the monograms are by Cuttlebug Red Tag alpha. My sakura glitter pen outline’s them for some “bling” Ribbon is by CardMaker.

Now here is Noah’s

noah tag

I got the Buzz Light Year stamp at Michaels. Used the image on the stamp to figure out the colors! Red, gable green, and Lilac.

And here is Amber’s

amber tag

She wanted Mickey and Minnie Mouse. This is a foam mount stamp from a set also bought at Michaels. Colored with markers. She chose the pink & black! She’s a natural I tell ya!

Thanks for looking!

Saturday Sketch!

Apr 7, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

sketch trio

Here is our Saturday Sketch!

I hope you have time to play this week. I told you I was going to share some of my sketches I have in my sketchbook each week, to help inspire you! There are NO rules just have fun. You will see by the original sketch, that I changed it a bit. The point is to get inspired, and get stamping!!!

Here is yet another card with my Funky Floral by Lizzy Anne . I am just lovin this line. I wanted simple, yet have some texture. The flowers are a bit “stitched” looking so that was my starting point. The awesome texture on the artichoke layer was achieved using  the weave bkgd by Cornish Heritage Farms! Its a really cool bkgd, and gives every paper that POP!

I also love this Heidi Grace double sided designer paper called Mushroom. I got that at eP. Gave me the cool combo of cameo coral, always artichoke, pumpkin pie, and pixie pink.

FOR A DOUBLE CHALLEGE try out those colors!! They really are fresh, and earthy, yet the pixie makes it scream spring!!

Supplies

Lizzie Anne Funky Floral, Cornish Heritage Farms weave bkgd

Cardstock-Sahara sand, whisper white, always artichoke, cameo coral

Ink- cameo coral, always artichoke, pumpkin pie, pixie pink, barely banana

Accessories

1 1/4 circle punch, singlo white gel pen, paper piecer, matt pack, ribbon by May Arts.

So I may “check in later” to show what I am making my kids today in case they get lost!!! Or add a post over the next few days! We will see I have a superlong to do list. If I get access in Disney then its a go!!!!! I hope you’ll check in while I’m gone. I will post some MYTIME MAIL from Disney when I get back if I’m over 10,000 hits!!!!

Pray we have a safe trip.

More Lizzie Anne Designs…..

Apr 6, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Oh I am just lovin this new company. I ordered 3 of their sets the other day after seeing their banner ad on SCS. I’m a sucker for stamps! Shipping was fast. Service excellent.

They sell their sets un-mounted deep etched  rubber. They cling to the acrylic blocks, and have a cute Jewel case they store in. I’m really lovin the unmounted sets lately cause my craft room is overflowing! This leaves me alot more room to buy more.

So I whipped up some cool cards the other day, and posted them here and on my gallery @ SCS.

Here is what I did yesterday! There is ONE more but I am saving that for tomorrow’s sketch challenge!

Funky Flower

flower

I just got this Funky Floral set with my order from Lizzie Anne Designs. You can NEVER have enough flowers IMO!

The paper is New! by Heidi Grace called Mushrooms (double sided)-from eP . I used it to inspire my collection of color. Which I must say is pretty cool!

Cameo Coral, Always Artichoke, Pumkin Pie, Pixie Pink! Would you have EVER put those color together? Not me. But I was so happy with the results. Wait till you see tomorrows. I hope you try this color combo. Maybe that will be another day challenge! HMMMMM.

I stamped the flower twice, cutting out the cameo layer. The brads are velvet covered by MM anthology (also from eP). I had to do some stitching cause the flower is a stitched style. Wanted to showcase both sides of the patterned paper so I did! I embossed the thank you sentiment in white. Im so into circles lately. I think the top tie’s are so fun, and complete the look. I just scored a 1/2 inch from the top, popped out some 3/4 circles, and here ya go.

White can sometime be stark. This has just the right balance.

You’re the Cat’s Meow!

cat

This one uses the Celebrations II set by Lizzie Anne. Make sure you check out their gallery! You will see me amongst the other great stuff there.

I love the Au Chocolat paper by SU! I just got this paw punch at Target by EK Success, so I HAD to use it!

So, I was unsure where I wanted this to go. I kept thinking Halloween, but didn’t want to go that route. All I knew was I wanted lots of paw prints! LOL! That is where the strip of prints comes in. The cat is on dimensionals. I stamped it on glossy white-for a little more “pop” IRL. I used the corner rounder (corner guard removed) for my scalloped border. Very simple layout.

I needed a cat sentiment so I dusted off my Cool Cat set by SU!

Hope you like it. I hope to try out some of the other stamps in this set, but this one was my favorite (along with the sun, sandals, gift…you get the idea!)

Tell me what you think.

Prima Paper & Beautiful Butterflies

Apr 4, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

closed

I LOVE butterflies! Can you tell?

I just got this gorgeous stamp set called Bella Brush by Fancy Pants.

I also got the Baby Girl patterned paper and matching flowers by Prima. I am in heaven.

I thought the 118 sketch challenge today was a perfect opportunity to use my new goods.

I decided to change it up a bit, and make the front a flap that opens. The paper was just too pretty on both sides to waste and butcher. So the prima holds it closed. I wanted the look to remain soft, so I chose ti use my favorite StazOn and shimmery pastels technique. The layer is attached with glue dots so you cannot see them. I just thought it was so soft and pretty.

The inside, I traced select butterflies with a Sakura glitter pen. Subtle and elegant. The strips of paper are by doodlebug. Cute touch I thought.

open

I have no idea who is getting this but I had fun.

Well I had to make one more using my Butterfly Kisses set. I just love it!

For this one I again used my Prima Baby Girl paper, and mauve mist! Go figure.

I love this layout 😀

papertrey

The card is mainly the paper, and not much stamping but still really pretty. The butterfly is stamped in Brilliance ink, on vellum cardstock-love that stuff. Cut out, than attached with a glue dot.

The ribbon is velevet ric rac by May Arts.

I made this one for a friend I have been thinking about. Hopefully I get it to the post-office before our trip! 😛

AND I just got word from Christine at All That Scraps that Whisker’s is making his debut! There are 3 to choose from! This one is my favorite, so I had to make a sample. He is on the homepage. I feel like this is great for any occasion.

whiskers

Sorry for the blurry photo-too much coffee and photos in my kitchen at night are not cool!

This is Whiskers! Colored with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Had to use a Sprite prima. You have to get these! They are my favorite from Prima by far! So in love!!!

Cardstock is by Bazzil. Also used Piggy Tales Green Forrest patterned paper. I took my Sakura glitterpen, and outlined all the flowers (cant really tell in photo). I just love the spring colors, and the fact that this is almost an all occasion card!

Think Pink sentiment from small sayings SU!

Ribbon from Jody! Hey, at least I use what I buy right?

Stamp for a good cause!

Apr 3, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

xbox

Beth (MyPrecious) alerted me to a little boy Dylan she knows who has been diagnosed with Leukemia. She posted a request found here, for people to RAK him with cards! You can also find his story there as well.

How could I not send a card? I make ton to sit in a storage box, why not one to actually send to a special child?

I hope you will join me in this. Dust off a boy set, or any set really and lets RAK him! I know first hand the joy a simple handmade card can bring. Alexa has received hundreds! Probably even a thousand if I counted.

Now about the card-You guessed it Lizzie Anne Designs All Guy  (btw no I don’t design for her-I saw the banner ad she had on SCS and bought 3 sets!LOL! Im just really likin her style)

So if you are wondering what all the jumbled letters are in the background you obviously don’t have an XBOX addicted 4 yo boy like I do. To do most of the fighting you have letter combos -like xxyab for example! LOL! Thats how I did the background!

I used a Library stamp from ProvoCraft for that. Made it quick to do the combos. I looked at the controller, and copied the button arrangement. Alphabits by SU! were for the round buttons on the side panel.  See there is more thought to this simple card that you thought huh?

I used A Muse candy for the buttons. I was pretty happy with this, and hope Dylan likes it. It is like a video game so whats not to like right?

CC108! Celebrate 2 years! and Lizzie Anne Designs stamps

Apr 3, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

YEAH! This is to celebrate 2 years of color challenges. Check it out!

So to celebrate Emily asked if we would make a card for Daven’s birthday with color challenge one of 108. Here is my submission.

daven

This is for Daven. He is the MAIN MAN! The creator and king of Splitcoaststampers! Happy Birthday Daven! I thought this card was SO PERFECT for him.

I just got this awesome All Guy stamp set by Lizzie Anne Designs yesterday. Perfect timing. I am on a mission to expand my guy sets. I’m having fun with this one.

Color challenge was Kraft, red & black. Ill admit the Kraft threw me off a bit, but hey thats why its a challenge right? I stamped the computer in caramel on glossy white. Colored the screen with my makers. Love coloring on glossy white with markers lately.

Ribbon is from Jody’s share (big surprise right?).

For Beate- Funky Flower Trio

beate

This is the second color challenge. Use Pretty in Pink, Bravo Burgundy, and  Always Artichoke. Since I had the Kraft, from making Daven’s card, I decided to use it for Beate’s card.

I went with Craft ink, and glossy white cardstock. In the above colors & white craft ink as well.

Stamps are also from Lizzy Anne Designs Funky Floral . Love that set too.

Ribbon-again from Jody! Jewels in the center of flowers are by A Muse.

Fore Your Birthday!

Another Guy card-

fore

Yet another guy card. This one also uses the All Guy  set by Lizzie Anne. I’m just havin fun with it.

When I saw this “golf” image all I thought of was the argyle, and making my own ball! So I did. I used my cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder, and a circle punch for the ball. Cut huh?

The paper/notecard is by A Muse. Colored with SU markers. Flag is a piece or red cardstock cut out/layered.

Ribbon is from Jody, and is May Arts stitched ribbon.

Motorcycle in motion-yet another guy card!

motorcycle

OK another guy card! Its sort of fun to use non flower images once in a while! LOL!

So I used the “Donna” technique to make this motorcylce look like its zoomin across the card. Its another from the All Guy  set by Lizzie Anne. I thought the stitched ribbon looked like a road! LOL!

I just got these rub on’s by Basic Grey- Wholy Cow?? I don’t know check Jacksonbelles ebay store!

Anyway, when I saw the ‘batteries not included” I thought it was perfect. the Guy stuff is stamped twice. Hope you likey! These were so fun! Now you know where I’ve been! LOL!
