Pink Cat Studio Contest

lily-and-billy-sledding.jpg

Let’s so sledding!

I think sledding is the best part about the cold snowy winters in New Hampshire, and the best part about the big hill in our backyard! It is the ONLY time we enjoy that hill! In the summer its pretty useless. I have great memories sledding as a kid with the entire neighborhood. My mom always had soup, grilled cheese and hot cocoa waiting for us when we came. in.

This image is just way too cute, and definitely makes me smile. So yes, you are seeing a NEW! image from Pink Cat Studio. This set is called Lily & Billy Winter Stamps and is due for release on Thurday the 6th.

Lily & Billy are just the cutest little people ever! They are what drew me into Pink Cat Studio. Every-time there is a release with them I get SOOOOO excited.

So for this one I kept it simple. I just wanted them to e 3D and going down a hill. Something easily re-producible. So, I stamped them onto the corner of some scrap cardstock, then used my wavy cutter to create my “hill”. I then cut out the upper portion of Lily & Billy. Added some of that super cellophane confetti for my snow. i LOVED the look of that.

Before layering onto my card base, I sponged on some blue ink for a winter sky. Added some little snowflakes, and ended up with a uber cute yet SIMPLE card.

Melissa is hosting a Contest!

lilybillywinter_contest.jpg

Check out the PINK CAT STUDIO Blog for your chance to WIN!!

Come back tomorrow for TWO more samples using ONE  of the images in the set!  REALLY CUTE!

I’d love to hear a great winter memory you may have as a child, or maybe a tradition. Feel free to share!

Thanks for reading.

MFTeaser- I {Heart} my PSF’s

my-psfs.jpg

I {Heart} my PSF’s

This is for all of my PSF’s out there in cyber world! I had to make it my favorite color-purple!

How surprised I was to see this sentiment in a stamp set. I had no idea it wold ever catch on in the cyber world. Many people now seem to be using it.

If you didn’t know the term “PSF” stands for pretend stamping friends-hence the abbreviationPSF. This term originated with my daughter Alexa! It began when Alexa got sick, and was in the hospital. Many amazing people I “knew” from online gathered together to send her cards or care packages. Truly an amazing outpouring. Literally over a 1,000 cards adorned the walls of her hospital room, where we basically lived for months at a time. People all over the hospital would stop by just to see all the handmade cards people sent.

She would always ask “who” sent it. I would tell her it was mommy’s friend X from the computer. Since she never met any of the people and only saw me online, she thought they were “pretend”, and would refer to them as mommy’s pretend stamping friends! I think she thought they were all in my head! How crazy she must think I am! LOL! Anyway that is how the term PSF came to be. We all shortened it the term to make it easier.

I use it on here often to describe all the friends I have in cyber world, whom are my “friends” but I never met. I have now actually been able to meet some, and that is awesome, but they are all still my awesome PSF’s. So that is the little backgrounder on that.

I had to use it when making this card with the NEW!-to be released set from My Favorite Things- Who’s That E-Girl. This is being released on the 5th.

For my card I paper pieced the bkgd using some paper I had in my stash. I *think* its piggy tales???

I then colored her in various coordinating shades of purple.

I die cut the image with my rectangle scallop nestabilities, and sponged and pierced my border. A simple yet nice touch that looks like layered, but really isn’t.

I think she looks so comfy, chillin, as she blurfs! If only I looked like that when I am online. Im at my computer desk, off the kitchen, while the kids ask me at least 6 times if they can have a snack, knowing I am only half listening. Meanwhile they grab their own and hide to eat it, so I won’t notice.

Too funny.

Well there is much more to share before the release, so stay tuned!

Yeah I have 2 samples!

Nov 2, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

OK so I got to spend the ENTIRE day stamping yesterday! Can you hear me screech with happiness over getting that much UNINTERRUPTED MY TIME!! Oh my gosh did I feel amazing. The creative juices were flowing!! I know why I LOVE stamping so much. After not getting anything done for days, I was getting with-drawls I swear! Stamping is such an important part of my life. Its my sanity. With all I have going on in my house I NEED that sanity break, especially before the start to another week. I usually spend time with my family on the weekend, but this was needed before I burst at my seams.

I also have a new stamp set find! I know you all went NUTS for the Princess set, so maybe you will like this one too. Keep reading.

This week is going to be JAM packed here on my blog with lots of eye candy! I have release peeks ALL week from C.C. Designs, My Favorite Things, and Pink Cat Studio! I am super happy with the way everything came out. So many ideas flowing. I can’t wait to share it all.

So yesterday I really enjoyed my stamping time, and having my sketch to work with really got my gears turning. When I have a few days on NON stamping, my mojo can be on pause. Having the sketch as a starting point was a great way to warm up. I got to create 2 samples using my sketch from yesterday, since I had so much fun with it.

mytimess101.png

So that is the mytimess10 sketch

Here are my cards

Warm little hedgies

warm-little-hedgies.jpg

Isn’t this so cute?

I LOVE little hedgehogs! I missed out on the old Stampin Up! ones years ago, so when I saw these I HAD to have them.

So I stamped and colored them all cute. Sponged the sky. I used some cellophane sprinkles I found at Michaels in the kids craft section, with lots of other glitters as my snow. Trust me you are going to be seeing this stuff A LOT over the next few days! It makes the COOLEST CHUNKY snow-ever. Having many winter themed cards this is my newest product must have. Much cooler than regular glitter, in my opinion. A BIG container of it was like $2.99. I used my Martha Stewart clear decoupage glue to adhere it.

My paper is Kraft, and dark Chocolate. I used patterns paper by Basic Grey-figgy pudding, and Lizzie Anne’s Winter Wonderland.

On my ribbon I used another favorite, which is silver snowflake table confetti, from Target. I put it on my ribbon (May Arts)center, and put it on the ends of my ribbon bloom, by pulling it through the centers of my snowflake confetti.

hot-hedgies-stamps.jpg

I found these at Walmart. The set was $2.99! Pretty cute huh? Its just a generic type of package, no known company on there. I think it was well priced, and too cute to pass up :D

There is a hedgie couple (I used them on my card), super cute owl with earmuffs, an adorable bear/polar bear, and that moose has leg warmers on!! I also used the sentiment from the set on my card today.

I love it. The sketch was perfect for my new set.

Now I have a little MFTeaser for you! I love Annie LaPointe’s monthly release of floral image. This month we have 2 coming out.

I used the Scented Geranium single for my next sketch card.

geranium-sketch.jpg

I used my paper by Imaginisce  as my color inspiration.

Its a cranberry crisp, spring moss, and olive combination with a hint of regal rose for the pink.

As you can see its NOT an exact follow of my sketch, but it was certainly inspired by it! I didn’t need ANOTHER sentiment, so I used a punched vellum butterfly in its place. The buttons are arranged differently than the sketch, but in the end it was more balanced this way.

What I did for this main image,  was stamp my floral image onto white cardstock, I then stamped the SAME image onto vellum cardstock. I layered them perfectly over eachother, then die cut with my circle nestabilities.

geranium-close-up.jpg

I separated the 2 pieces, and using an embossing stylus, I embossed the flowers from the back. This gives a puffy- 3 D effect. I then layered it back onto my white circle, and secured with glue dots. I then colored the front with Copic markers.

I think it looks really cool.

I hope you get to try the sketch today, or sometime soon. Its a great starting place for when you want to get stamping. I hear many of you say you often don’t know WHERE to begin when you DO get my time in. I have a link on my sidebar to all the past sketches, so if this one isn’t what you are looking for try another. There is NO time limit on these, just do what inspires you most.

Well that is all for today. I have lots to do, more posts to write :D, you know the story.

Thanks for checking in, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow.

I have a sketch, but no sample :C

Thanks for sharing my upset over the teacher incident. Yes its the SAME teacher who complained about his coloring. Many of you mentioned newer teachers not knowing better. Well she has been teaching since my husband was in the school! OVER 25 years ago. She is well seasoned. Maybe its even time to quit teaching. I will take the advice of you all and let the principal know about what happened. I agree she could have at least apologized.

Have a super weekend :D And thank you all again for the support here. It really helps me et though these crazy mommy moments, knowing Im not insane or alone!

    Pass it On Challenge

Oct 31, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Papertrey Newsletter

    greeting-from-miles-away.jpg

    Greetings from Miles Away

It’s the first of the month. That means its time for a Papertrey Ink Challenge! This month, with Thanksgiving right around the corner, Nichole asked that we share ways that we can use stamping to help bless the lives of others. I LOVE things like that. Using what we LOVE to make a difference.

I have to say I have MANY places that I send all my (non sent) card creations I do through the year. All dear to my heart. Many people asked what I do with them, and now you will know. I have posted what I do in the past, but will share again today. Always around the holidays I gather them up and either ship them, or deliver the box myself.

This year I have 3 HUGE boxes of cards, and altered items to hand over. The feeling is INCREDIBLE. People say I should sell them on Etsy, but I have to say knowing where these are going, no amount of money could ever make me feel the way donating them to these organizations does. I feel like Im getting to give something back. So much has been done for us, its the least I can do. Plus it helps me NOT feel so guilty for NOT sending as many cards as I should. I guess I could mail photos of the boxes to the would have been recipients and say Hey Look! There is a card in there that was going to be yours but is now being donated in your honor! LOL!

Having had my daughter go through Cancer was the MOST eye opening experiences of my life. In so many ways. The one thing that shocked me most was the POWER of the volunteers, and donations made to make amazing things possible for sick kids and their families.

What does a family do, when they have a really sick child, who is far from home? Well that is where my reason for this card comes in.

One of the places that is so dear to my heart is David’s House.

PLEASE read the story of how this organization was started –>David’s House

    Or go to-

    www.davids-house.org

    461 Mount Support Rd
    Lebanon, NH 03766
    (603) 643-2298

This is the place that opened my eyes to the amazing kindness of perfect strangers. The power of donating your time can truly have on families. It provided Alexa with a gorgeous handmade quilt (that she STILL sleeps with every night!) when she first go diagnosed with Leukemia. Someone took the time to make that, and donated it! AMAZING! I use to quilt, so I know the TIME that goes into each and every creation.

David’s House  gave me a place to eat a home-cooked meal-also donated by area families, each night for dinner so I wouldn’t have to pay for yet ANOTHER meal for at least $5, easy.

It provided my husband a place to sleep, when he could come visit with the kids, close to hospital, so we didn’t have to pay for a hotel. An expense we truly could not afford while Alexa had a her LONG hospitalization.

They allowed me to go and do my laundry there, at no cost, so I didn’t have to travel all the way home to get clean clothes. I was able to remain in the hospital with Alexa the entire time she was admitted.

I was also able to just go and take a quick break from reality IF I needed it, and to socialize with other families who understood what we were going through.

This house provided my family with so much support. All run by volunteers! It truly amazing how people give so freely time, out of their own busy lives, to help families like mine. It doesn’t take a lot to make a big difference.

I vowed that I will volunteer more once my kids are in school full time.

I like to give back what I can, and for me that is some cards that the staff or families can use. I cannot tell you how often someone does something amazing for you, that you WISH you had a card handy for.

Last year when I dropped off my box, some of the families actually got teary over the prospect for giving Nurse X a thank you, or bringing a card with them for their son the next morning. Or Volunteer X helped me with this and now I can thank her.

    TRULY amazing.

I only send cheery, upbeat cards to this home.

No Im sorry, or sympathy card. When your child is sick that is the LAST thing you want to stumble upon. I also like inspirational cards as well.

I decided to make a few extra for the box from our family, to thank Davids House. They can use them to send out, or give to others in the House.

This place is truly a God Send to families just like mine :D If you have a big stash of cards, getting dusty I encourage you to consider David’s House, or maybe a Ronald McDonald house in your area.

Other organizations I enjoy donating to are

    Cards for Cancer

    Chemo Angels

    OR your area Children’s Hospital.

OK now for my card info! I wanted to keep the mass production SIMPLE as possible.

I saw a stamp a while back of a tree with envelopes in it. I thought it was REALLY cute.

I then thought it would be SO cute to use the Father Knows Best tree image, and the envelopes from Mailbox Greetings. With a little masking it looks awesome!

I just stamped my envelopes first, masked them, them stamped my tree leaf image. I filled in the leaves with various shades of blue and green ink. I love the colors. I punched out the tree top, and layered it onto my card base. EASY PEASY!

I think its just cheery enough for the cause don’t you?

OK now don’t miss the other design team girls creations for causes :

I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts, and if there is a place that is dear to your heart too!

Thanks for reading and remember to “pass it on”.

What do you do with 8 cards? And yes I am here!

Oct 31, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Home decor/3-D items

I have so much going on right now your head would spin off your shoulders if I shared my to do list with you! You truly have no idea. Im actually surprised mine hasn’t fallen off yet :D For me to not have time to even check my email, let alone blog is a HUGE deal here.

I truly didn’t think people would notice, but I did se some very concerned emails, so yes, I am OK! Thanks for asking :D

We have more My Timeless Templates to prepare for D YEAH!! They seem to have been a big hit with everyone who has tried them, so thank you!

With Harvest parties, and deadlines its nuts. Plus I have MANY errands for my brother and his girlfriend. Then my dog and 3 cats got fleas today :C. So I spent the day de-fleaing and taking Daisy to the groomer. Poor baby.

Then it was all the Harvest party stuff for my 3 kids. Between ALL their parties I ran ALL day.

Now keep in mind my family doesn’t celebrate Halloween. I allow my kids to par-take in the parties and stuff at school, but we don’t Trick or Treat. No big deal in my house, we never did it. Today while we were at Noah’s harvest party, his teacher decided to do a “poll”.

Raise your hand if you are going Trick or Treating tonight. EVERYONE raises their hand, EXCEPT for Noah. She says OK 15 kids are Trick or Treating. Now “Who ISN’T going Trick Or Treating? Raise your hand.”

“ Noah? You aren’t going correct?”

Noah looks embarrassed and wouldn’t raise his hand. He turns to me and says “Mom Im going Trick or Treating too right?”

I just stood there, feeling so awful and Noah being singled out with a room of people. I didn’t say anything.

He said “Yes, I am going too”

So she put him in the “yes” colum.

She said “OK so 16 kids going trick or treating, and no one isn’t going”

That concluded the “poll”, then Noah left for a reading group. I approached the teacher upset, and asked her what was the point in that poll?

I told her “Noah is really NOT going trick or treating. We don’t celebrate it. But you singled him out, and he was so embarrassed and singled out. You saw there wasn’t another child, why point him out? I don’t understand what the point was”

She replied “Oh its no big deal, no one cares”

I then said ” You are wrong Noah cared, as he was the ONLY one, and you blatantly pointed that out. I hope you rethink your questions in the future.”

He then went on to be upset that he is the ONLY one not going. Its times like that, that make being a parent hard. I know he doesn’t understand WHY my family chooses not to celebrate it. He sees it as just a fun thing to do, and it is made fun. It just made me have a guilty mommy moment, you know?

When you believe in something, its not always easy to be the ONLY one, or stand up for it when “everyone else” is doing it. I saw this today.

Just had to share that. I still feel upset seeing what went down.

We are off to go for ice cream sundaes instead. So that should help

OK totally sorry about that interruption but Im still upset over it.

I do have a nice gift set to share with you though. This also answers my post question.

Personalized stationary is ALWAYS a great gift, I think! LOL! So when it came time for a gift idea, that is the way I went.

    alicia-set-of-8-cards.jpg

I made these cards as a set.

Well my dear friend Alicia has had a lot on her plate with her son Ethan having Cancer. I am certain she always needs some sort of quick note to send somewhere. I have a care package I have been putting together for her & the kids (still not done) but this was part of my “plan”.

    alicia-set-of-4.jpg

I wanted to make her some notecards, so  I whipped up 8 cards. 2 of each design. Now to fit my box, these are 4 X 5 1/2. I used the left over scrap strip for my accents on my cards :D NO WASTE!!

The designer paper panel is 3 X 4

I used myJustRite Stampers Harmony classic oval set, colored the flower border using various markers, to match my K & Co paper.

I then assembled her name in the center using my Curlz Font. I decided on the 50pt for this one. It was the perfect font for this funky paper!

If you have any of the JustRite Stampers you may want to check this tutorial for conditioning them on SCS—>HERE!

They were also the product focus on SCS-HERE!

    alicia-card-close-up.jpg

I decided to accent my card using my AWESOME Bazzill flowers, and some buttons I had. I HOPE Alicia likes these because its not a “re-giftable” item! LOL!

OK now for the answer to the question, “what do you do with 8 cards?”

    alicia-cards-out.jpg

Chipboard Chic Box by Lauren Meader ©

You make a ROCKIN, chipboard, desktop holder! I never made all the squaes ones that were all the rage, but this version of mine was fun for me No more forgetting to send a card out. Its out in plain view!

I made mine using cut down chipboard coasters!

It was SUPER fun, and SUPER easy.

On the sides I punched my holes, and inserted a big eyelet. I then popped in a silver handle from a Paint can.

    How cool?!

    alicia-set.jpg

Here it is all full and ready to go!!

The front/back panels are 4 across, 3 inches tall

The sides are 1 1/2 wide, and 3 inches tall.

    Now my bottom piece was  4 1/2 X 2.

Holder done in UNDER 15 minutes :D LOVE IT! I bet once I get moving I could WHIP up a bunch of these no problem I’m thinking TEACHER gifts!

Well thats all for me, I have to run.

    Enjoy.

    New release samples

Oct 26, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

I want to start by saying THANKS!! I appreciate all the positive feedback I received on yesterdays post :D Truly made my day. I will certainly provide instructions soon. I had all I could do to get it posted! LOL! So I am happy you all liked it so much.

Today Amy R is having her 2nd release for C.C. Designs. She is releasing 3 sets-Build a Holiday, Christmas Sentiments, and Christmas Card Verses, You can purchase them on the 27th (depending when you read this-today!)

Wait until you see all you get with these sets. I really think they sell themselves. Plus the price is right :D Lots of great holiday sentiments for the outside and inside of your cards.

I have been struck HARD with the flu, so I only got 4 samples done, and they are LATE :C I should have had these for you to preview Friday, but at least I got them done in time for the release TODAY!!

I hope you like my take on Amy’s sets!

My photos aren’t the best. Like I said Im feeling horrible so I did the best I could do.

    let-is-snow-bkgd-amy.jpg

First up will be the Build a Holiday, and the sentiment “Let is Snow” from the Christmas Sentiments set.

I used Amy’s new sentiment set to create a pretty patterned paper.

I stamped the “let it snow” sentiment, on glossy cardstock in versamark ink. Let dry, then sponged on my fave colors for non-traditional Christmas/winter colors-pink, Caribbean, and lavender. Its a very subtle look but I LOVE it! I felt like this made the PRETTIEST patterned paper!

    close-up-let-is-snow-amy.jpg

I then used Amy’s new build a holiday set- to build my snowman. Stamped on a shimmery white cardstock. His/her head fits perfectly in a 1 inch circle punch. The middle is the 1 1/4 punch, and the bottom is 1 3/8 punch! So it came together in under a minute. I used some pretty fun fibers for my scarf.

The tag uses a new sticky paper by Scor-Pal! Note: I didn’t see it listed yet, so Ill keep you posted on that! I punched the snowflake/circle from the tape, adhered it to my circle layer, and added glitter! Perfect embellishment.

    OK moving on……………

Seems like you may only see HOLIDAY building with the Build a Holiday set. Well that isn’t true :D

    amys-shape-set-bday.jpg

    I see  a PARTY!!

Instead of a TREE, I saw a party hat! I just stamped my American Crafts paper, and cut it out, and made a curly topper. I did the same with the gift image.

I think its SUPER DEE DUPER cute!

The FUNNEST part of this is that the sentiment is from the Christmas Card Verses set! I just colored only portion of the sentiment that I wanted, as I felt it was perfect for a birthday card too :D

    tulips.jpg

    Tulips!

Ok so YOU see little ornament toppers, and hangers, I see tulips, and stems!!

My favorite flower, made in seconds :D

Isn’t that cute? I wanted a quick card. I love single layer cards that take NO TIME at all, when you need to just pop a hello in the mail. Goodness knows I need to make MORE of those.

Plus I was feeling YUCK and just needed to get the idea out of my head!

I made the sentiment around the flowers usingJustRite Stampers small letters set. One of my all time favorite sentiments.

Now one last one before I head to bed.

    peakcock-very-bradley.jpg

    Peakcock Pattern

This one was made by layering Amy’s petal shapes, within eachother, making a pattern like a peacock feather. This was also inspired by Vera Bradley’s Peacock pattern bags! Its just a super quick and cute card.

I used another JustRite Stampers set for my sentiment. Harmony Classic Oval I set. I just bought a bunch of stuff and need to actually USE it :D I LOVE sentiments, and think you can never have too many! Happy everything is perfect for that “anytime you need a card” sentiment.

OK I am now done for today. I need to get some rest. I hope I can get a Flu shot soon, so I don’t get this again.

     Take care of yourself.

Tomorrow I will post my “daily” routine, as many of you have asked how I get stuff done :D

    Later-

    Saturday Sketch Time

Oct 25, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

My favorite day is here! Saturday!

Im a bit late with this post, and foggy headed because I have the Flu! What a great thing stress is for your body huh? Makes you STOP in your tracks. The part I hate the most is I am losing my voice. Me being a big talker, that is AWFUL for me! LOL!!! Oh well. Lots of fluids should help, and maybe getting some rest too.

I have gotten some great suggestions out there from you all re: my templates, which I will definitely be bringing up to Nichole (thank you) and ideas for my Saturday Sketches. One is from Kristin Butler , and it is to have a click-able button that you can copy/paste. Kristin actually made her own which is super cool! Thanks Kristin :D Im actually having my blog girl Sara Williams, who does all my super cool stuff, come up with something for that when she gets some time :D She did make my banner on my side bar for My Timeless Templates clickable!! Thanks Sara - you rock!

OK so this weeks sketch is a tricky one!! But that is the point. Get you out of that rut!

    KEYWORD: mytimess09

    mytimess09.png

This sketch was inspired by this card that I did for the Papertrey ink release.

    retro-ribbon-tree.jpg

Now I think this sketch has many possibilities.

The large squares I believe were 2 inches, and the little square are 3/4 inch. Olive panel was 2 1/4 X 3 1/2.

    Now for my sketch sample.

    faisrytale-2.jpg

I LOVE my Elzybells Fairytale collection :D I have been dying to ink them more, but got a little busy. I thought it would be perfect for this sketch so I went to work! I wanted to show people that think you always have to use the entire portion of a LARGE image, that you really don’t! Just cut it down. While I love the large image of this stamp I used, I like the cut down version just was much.

I used the Knight and Princess, as well as the Castle for this card. Sentiment is Fairytale ending

I stamped them on WHITE! I them used some sponging to age it like my patterned paper.

My squares on this sample aren’t the same size. I used my sketch to inspire my creation, but I didn’t let it LIMIT me. That is the important thing to remember with these sketches. Use it as a starting place! I point of inspiration. If something doesn’t work, or it inspires a new creative idea or take on the sketch, then go for it!! The point of this weekly challenge is to get you stamping :D I find sketches the PERFECT starting place for when the mojo is low too.

I sketch endlessly. That is how I get so much done :D Later I will post what my “day” looks like. Many of you asked how I fit everything I do into a day. So I’ll share  my typical day with you all. Trust me, its not all that exciting. Im a SAHM just like you, with lots to do. Maybe after seeing my “schedule” you will see a way to fit certain things into your day! Or maybe see there is no magic just creative planning! :D

Well that is it for me today.

Send us a link if you get to try the sketch. I still have comments to make from last week. Sorry. Life has been a little upside down here this past week!!

Make sure you check out the Sketch Team! More creative takes on the sketch!

    Thank you Bug

Oct 21, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

I have been meaning to post this FOREVER! I have a million thank yous that are MONTHS late, and this post is just one of those  on the list. Time just flies past me. Since I haven’t been able to stamp (in over a week!!!!!!!!) I can dust off some forgotten creations I created.

Alexa got the sweetest package (as did I :D) from a woman in the Netherlands named Erica E. I don’t have a blog address for her, but I pray where ever she may be, she sees this, as my Thank You card is quite late, as usual. I want her to know we have not only received it, but it was just a great surprise.

I can’t even tell you the list of TY’s I have going, and am months behind! I still have to post Amber’s party. YIKES. That is just the beginning.

So here is the amazing tin she made!

    alexa-tin.jpg

     for Alexa!

Is that not adorable? I’m not sure what  company this image is from, but I think she is so cute. How am I suppose to let Alexa use this?! LOL! Its just too pretty. I always have a hard time letting go, and doing that. I would freak if even a corner lifted due to the use from my precious 9 yo!! I put it on her special shelf in her room, where some other awesome things my stamper friends have made reside-on display.

She also sent handmade bracelets for the girls (my photos are blurry :C so I need a re-take them)  which they LOVED and both used for show & tell!! She included  some grow in water insects for Noah. Really sweet. He is currently growing the spider. THANK YOU!

Then she sent along this HUGE stack of images from that same company as the image of the girl on the tin for me :D A real WOW! They are all so cute and stamped and cut perfectly!

She then wrapped in this purple organdy bag-personalized for me.

    Look at all this

    notes.jpg

You can’t tell but its a LARGE stack, that must have taken FOREVER to stamp! Each image is different. Erica if you read this you are one crazy, and amazing lady!! Thank you so much for making our day. It was a true treat.

So inspired by these new images, and her tin, I made Erica a (LATE) Thank You card, using my favorite image-the butterfly!!

    bug-thank-you.jpg

    Butterfly bugz

I was inspired by her circle on the tin, and ended up with this creation , as a result. I was really happy with it. I love the colors-bright and cheery. It was a joy to use this image, and cut it all out. I colored the bug in vibrant colors. The wings haveShimmerz in pumpkin, on them. I loved using the plastic flowers too. I had them for a while and finally dusted them off!!

The round element is pierced, and the sentiment is from PTI’s Remember set.

A simple looking 5  square card, but the little details make it pop I think. I really LOVE that butterfly! LOVE! I hope Erica shares where the images are from. I think ONE of each isn’t going to cut it for me. I need to pick some up for myself :D

Anyway, thanks for letting me share that with you all. I need to get the photos of the bracelets and a few other amazing things as well.

PLEASE pray I get to stamp sometime soon. Im going INSANE! I need MY TIME!!!

    Till tomorrow

Today is the 20th. A day I often forget, or miss to acknowledge as the offical CelebrateMFT Stamp Co day! Not this month! I remembered :D

Where do I begin with this line from MFT by Stephanie Fizer?

How about CUTE, adorable, whimsical, and fun! Better yet easy to love, and color. I had a blast working with this new line of images! I really like that MFT is taking the leap and bringing in more styles for variety! Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the originals, but its great to add new styles to the mix, you know?

Well let me start by sharing a card that makes me all teary looking at it. It is called Purrfect Gift.

    mft-purrfect-gift.jpg

I LOVED my coloring for this one :D Yes I am patting myself on the back. I think its just so cute.

The reason this gets me sad is my poor cat-Moo-Moo (yes like a cow says moo. He eats everything. Not cat like at all! He is just alike a little cow and that is how he got his original name. Since having children he is referred to as Boy Cat! LOL!) is now peeing pure blood.

I have had him since I got my very first apartment! 11 years ago. I took him and his sister (they were cuddled up togehter sleeping I could not bear to separate them) home with me, and have had then ever since.

We took him to the vet Saturday, after finding him in the blood puddle of urine. He has a history of UTI’s and is on special cat food, but eats dog food every chance he gets. After much testing, they think he has a tumor :C,and that is the reason for the frequent return of infections over the last few months. So not really “infections” just symptoms of the tumor. We couldn’t afford any additional tests as he already cost us several hundred dollars (that we already didn’t have) to find out more.

He is on antibiotics, which usually seem to help, but we have to watch him for crying, only peeing droplets, and lethargy. How do you tell if a cat is lethargic when all they do is sleep? Anyway, this whole thing is KILLING me. I have been a mess over the last few days, hoping that this gets better, and when I gather up some more money for the ultrasound and kidney scan I can figure out what is really wrong. Although we cannot afford an expensive surgery, it will be nice to know what his issue is, can it be helped with meds, and what his QUALITY of life will be.

He honestly seems perfectly fine other than the bleeding. I know that sounds terrible. But we are a few days in and no more pure blood. He is eatting and drinking, and no abnormal meowing or strange activity/behaviour

SORRY!! I didn’t mean to put a huge damper on this post. I wasn’t even going to share all this grief about my poor furbaby but it just happened seeing this card. Im just a mess and its affecting everything else. I’m sure any animal lover can relate. I never lost an animal. Well, we lost out Golden Retriever Kelly, when I was 17. I grew up with her. She got a tumor in her knee and went downhill very quickly. I couldn’t go with my mom to put her down, and that is the MAIN reason I never wanted a dog. They are like a family member. The loss was awful.

Anyway, I’m not sure how upset I will be if my cat goes. I also worry about his sister. How will she feel? She has been with him everyday of her life!!
    OK stopping here.

Anyway, here is a cheerier part to the post-

    A Scarf for Three

    mft-snowfamily.jpg

I love the colors this has. Really non-traditional and pretty combo for winter. I kept it simple, as the image was pretty and detailed enough.

Sweet blush, berry sorbet, and pure poppy = the Perfect color combo.

    Next up is Christmas Owls

    mft-hoot-of-a-holiday.jpg

If you are loving the owl trend, you will love this little single! I was inspired by hanging ornaments to make my own trio. More fun coloring :D LOVE my COPIC markers.

I just loved how this turned out.

OK I have a migraine and a million things to get done, so I have to run. My brother is now living with us, and that has been crazy adjusting too.

One thing my life never is, is boring :D

So I hope you dust off those MFT sets, or play with new one’s to join in celebrating MFT day.

I have to say blog world has been quiet here. I was thinking my stuff may not up to par, then I remembered so many LUCKY people are on the Stamp Cruise with Nichole, Gina K , And Emily!! At least that is why I HOPE its been quiet! LOL! I think too after all my template craze, its hard getting back to “normal” stamping, without all the big buzz! LOL!

Anyway-enjoy the start of a new week. Its FREEZING here, lots of frost. Winter is upon us.
