I hope everyone is enjoying what is left of Summer! I know we are here.
We have been busy here, with all next week being FULL of appointments :C Between back to school check ups, Alexa’s bazillion appointments on Wednesday, Jay’s stuff and play dates, call me insane by weeks end! PLUS I’m wrapping up my newest My Timeless Template samples for ya!
Jay is recovering from his back surgery quite well
He has a follow up on Monday. He still can’t drive or sit upright. He has to either stand, or lay down. He is getting antsy, and I have to keep reminding him what NOT to do. At least he can COOK! LOL! That is all I care about for this stent of time, not being able to do much
I loathe cooking.
On another personal note, so many asked to see my girls bedroom with the bedding from Target
Its a REALLY cute set.
Here you go!
Girls beds with stick on wall decals (Amber and I placed each one in very specific areas! LOL!)
Amber’s Corner (sorry for dark icky photos)
Alexa’s Corner
I HAD to get the matching owl pillow! Its the perfect addition for their beds.
The lamp was like $10, and I stuck a decal on that so it matched the room! LOL! Cheap & easy, and it peels right off later
This is another wall of their room
Another view-with animals peeking out from everywhere! LOL!
Then one more-
So basically 2 okgs of decals covered their room
Once Jay’s back is healed we are getting new carpeting and stuff-so YEAH! That will be nice.
OK sorry for the detour! Back to the regular scheduled post-
Anyway-the weekend is here, and it is time for an Inspiration Challenge!
Seeing these little skirts (or aprons-no sure! LOL!) Hanging on a line really called out Summer to me!
So this is the challenge today.
Next week I will pick the top 5 entries, and link their blog/gallery here
Here is card #1 I did
I loved the stripes and colors in this inspiration piece, so I went with that! What a FAB color combo this is too
Lately its been ALL work, no play, so I took advantage of the challenge, to pull out some fun stamps I have yet to get ink on
This one is from The Greeting Farm! This is Miss Anya I so love all their stuff
Really cutesy, which is SO me! I find I buy it all, but don’t USE it! So I’m trying to USE what I have. Then I can justify buying the latest & greatest! LOL!
I used my NEW! Labels 9 die cut for this one too, along with some OLD SU! rub on’s to complete the look
Then I had so much fun I had to do ONE more
I want my Mummy
OMG! I have had this uber cute monster Argus with Teddy-from Paper Make Up, for an eternity! I thought the image was so cute, that I had to get it immediately. So, I did, then never got to using it. Don’t you hate that? Or you get to use something like ONCE then never again, or you forget about it! LOL! I hope I’m not alone on that one, or I have serious explaining to do to Jay! LOL! I’ve been getting better about impulse shopping when it comes to STAMPS, but accessories and paper/ribbon/embellishments/tools, and other stuff like that is my COMPLETE downfall! Can’t help it.
Anywho, the apron with the pink base and aqua polka dots REALLY caught my eye, so I used this lil monster, with dots, and them made my own paper to match! Now THAT is fun inspiration
I colored the teddy all freaky-since its like a monster teddy. I also added Googley Eyes to Argus teh monster. I think its cute like that
Since the monster LOOKED scared, I used the sentiment “I want my mummy” fromWitch Way to the Treats Centers & Borders Round 1-3/16” , mixed with the Spider BOO! image to give him/her something to LOOK scared about
I thought it was cute
So now I will feature the TOP 5 choices, from last weeks Saturday Sketch, from those who joined in our challenge Check them out OK!
This feature will be called My Time to Shine
Here are a links to the My Time to Shine-Top 5 people featured!
Thanks to all who played along
I cannot wait to see what everyone does this week!
Now for samples of inspiration from the team, hop along ……..
So that is all for me today! I hope you’re inspired to get creative this week!
Thanks for stopping by

Awesome creations as usual! Love them. AND that room! OMG, that is amazing!! I LOVE IT! Come do my rooms for me?
Totally amazing! Glad Jason is getting better, all the best!
I love that room! It’s so cheery and fun.
Glad to hear Jason is healing nicely! What happy news!
The girls bedroom is just adorable! I bet they love it! I do!
Super cute card to go with your challenge!
Talk to you soon!
Hugs and love,
Renee
Your girls’ room is so cute! Love the idea for an inexpensive lamp! :>
What a great inspiration pic! Love the aprons……I’ve been wanting to make one for my daughter for awhile now. My son has a ‘Chef inTraining’ that matches his Dad’s ‘Executive Chef’ apron (both from my mil). I’m a pretty lucky gal as my hubby does all of the cooking for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and kidlet birthday parties (everything except the baking….that I actually do). Anyhow….those colors are so fun! And I your samples are so bright and cheerful! :>
Those cards are jut too fun. Glad to hear Jay is healing right along, or at least feeling better. The girls room is so cute Lauren. I’m sure they had fun helping you decorate it too. Hang in there with your sanity this week.
Great job on the girls’ room, it is precious. So very hip and trendy. I think Cathi would call it MoxieFab !!
This looks like a fun challenge, I hope to play
Lauren I think it’s so funny that it bothered you with Noah had all his pictures all over the walls, yet you’ve got stuff plastered on all the walls in the girls room! LOL!
Also, I must also say that the tv on the book shelf in Alexa’s corner looks precarious hanging off the edge like that!
Love your super cute cards; especially this little scared monster!
Holly I moved the TV so people could see the tree I put behind it on the shelf-its for photo purposes only! LOL! It is also wired to the wall with a large hook & eye (as is all the shelving in my kids rooms)
Noah also has Race Car Decals on his wall too
I just don’t like the clutter of 100 hand colored photos, stuck up with stcikers on the walls-all over
What cute owls! Love the bedding. I can’t believe I never saw it in Target seeing as how I make weeky deposits there! But since I have a boy, I guess wandering down the girls aisle is not something I do, LOL! Love the colors for this challenge and plan on playing. What is the deadline for these challenges, Fridays?
I LOVE the girls’ bedroom is beautiful. You know that I have been trying to decorate my daughter bedroom, so I will go to Target to check out the beddings. You did a really nice job with the decoration. I love this cards and the colors.
Love, love, love the girls’ room. My daughter would want to move right in. You did a fabulous job! Are the decals from Target too? I can’t find them on the website.
The card is precious too. I so enjoy your blog. One of my first stops every two days or so. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to brighten my day.
So glad to hear Jason is better, and healing well. The girls room is adorable!
Now how CUTE is that room! Love it Lauren! Best wishes to you and your family and glad your hubby is coming along nicely with recovery. Oh, PS: Didn’t get a chance to comment on the little hydrant box. TOO CUTE!!!!
Oooh…love both of your cards, Lauren! The first is my favorite :O) Your girl is colored sooo pretty!
I also love the girls’ room! WOW!!! Those owls are too much and I adore the color scheme! It’s a room any little girl (or girls) would be proud to have

Lauren the girl’s bedroom is adorable – what a fun place for them to call home – bet they love it – I love your cards for the MTTI challenge too! ROck on woman… do you ever sleep?????
Lauren your girls must be the happiest girls in this world–OMG what a beautiful room! I love every single detail you put on it. — And I love the two cards you made, too. Great colors, you make everything look easier
[...] a Comment WHAT was I thinking? Trying to create one card using two challenges. Lauren’s is a color challenge and Taylor’s is a sketch challenge so I thought “no big deal..” – [...]
CUTE room!! Where did you find those great decals? My daughter would LOVE them!!!
Oh my goodness, Lauren! I LOVE how the girls room turned out!!! It’s awesome!
GREAT cards today! Love all that colour!
Your daughter’s room is so adorable! Just the way I would love to decorate if I had a littler girl! That owl pillow is perfect!
I love both of these cards, but especially ARgus! That card just rocks and I love your monster teddy!
OMG … what an ADORABLE little girls’ room! You did an awesome job and I am sure your girls just love it! I thought about you yesterday while I was in Target purchasing some items for my son’s DORM room … I saw the cute bedding set you decorated your girls’ room with and it made me smile (shopping for dorm stuff is stressful and sad — don’t want to send my baby off!). I want to decorate my spare bedroom/stamping room with that cute bedding and those wall decorations are precious … they remind me of Stampin’ Up!’s ‘On Board So Tweet’ chipboard set that includes the cute owls! YOUR CREATIVITY IS AN INSPIRATION!!!
Debbie
What a gorgeous room!!
fabulous cards too!
Finally got a chance to stamp & posted my inspiration card.
My goodness I’m so behind. I L O V E the girls’ room — it came out GREAT! the decals are the perfect touch.
I absolutely adore both of your samples too — realy great colors in this inspiration piece for sure!
Hoping you had a super weekend!!
Your girls’ room is gorgeous! Love the owls, in fact I emailed your blog to my sister so she could check them out.. she loves owls. Wall clings makes decorating so fun and easy. When my dd was small she loved Pooh so we did her room in Winnie-the-Pooh. I painted the walls white and put two sets of those wall clings on her walls. It was so easy and turned out great.
Your cards are great! So pretty.
-Heather
Wow! Did you peek into my 1960s bedroom? Yours is so much cuter but you used the same colors. My sister and I designed the room but you probably were not born yet to help.
Love your stuff and thanks!
super cute room- love the owls!
I’m so glad Jason is healing nicely. I LOVE the girls’ room. LOVE it! I want to move in it. LOL.
I may have to give this inspiration challenge a whirl.
I love your girls rooms! I live in Canada and sadly cannot get them here! Although I will tell you that I have seen several other cardmakers who have also bought that bedroom set too! Totally strikes a cord with us cardmakers! Love your idea for a lamp. I should have done that, last year I did my daughter’s room and spent $60 on her lap alone!
Such a lovely room – clearly shows how much love went into all that decorating. Your girls must be tickled pink with this.
Awesome job with the girl’s room Lauren!
I am finally able to use my computer after a week without it (nasty virus on it). Can you believe I actually got withdrawl symptoms from not being able to checkout my favorite blogs?!? LOL
Yippee I did it!!! I am so happy that I had the chance to play with all of you this week, I’m locked and loaded on Mr. Linky
What a super cute room! Thanks so much for sharing with us! Also, may I ask where you found that pic of the skirts/aprons? I wanna buy one or buy the pattern to sew one!
