Hi everyone!
Guess what! Im featured on the Moxie Fab World BLOG! How fun and exciting is that? It only added to how I feel today!
I don’t know if its the meds or just life, but I’m in a super happy mood today. SO thankful, and just plain HAPPY.
LIKE I’m bouncin off the walls ( in my head -not physically! LOL!) with excitement. I honestly feel like CRAP, but the weather is warm-like the kids can PLAY OUTSIDE warm, I got a NEW TOOL that is BEYOND fabulous (share a video on that another time :D) and my dress fits!
What is there to be upset about?
Yesterday was a BAD day. I hurt worse than ever!! My first day on my own. Can you say OUCH!! They have switched my pain meds 4 times! Basically everything except Motrin make me feel like I’m on the Tilt a Whirl ride, still in motion. I end up getting every possible “adverse effect” listed, so I’m done with it. Just say NO to drugs! LOL! So now Im just resting and relaxing, no meds. I can see HOW people get addicted because they are quite quick to dish out OODLES of stuff. I have a virtual pharmacy going in my bathroom cabinet right now. Maybe that is because I don’t have a history of going to the doctors, let alone abusing meds! LOL! I actually refused most of it, Im the type of girl that won’t take so much as tylenol for a headache, let alone the BIG GUNS.
Anyway, yesterday: I was very upset because my dress before surgery fit like a glove: AKA no room to GROW! N-O-N-E
Well since my surgery I was definitely BLOATED! I measured! I added an INCH to my waist! There was NO ROOM for an inch in the dress-if I sneezed it would BUST! LOL! Not kidding.
I was upset because I haven’t eaten anything that would warrant the BULGE. If Im going to gain an inch it would have been nice if it were “worth it”. Meaning CHOWING lots of sinful goodness. But I hadn’t done that. Quite the opposite. Im living on cereal and fruit. If I eat “food” I feel like a swallowed a fire ball.
Anyway-I woke up today and felt “skinny” again, and low and behold lost 1 1/2 inches! YEAH! So I tried on the dress, and it fits! With room to sneeze! LOL! no SPANX for me!
I have NO IDEA how Im going to walk in HEELS (Im so not a HEEL girl!) let alone dance at the Wedding Saturday (belly is NOT feeling good-driving feels like everything is PULLING-let alone dancing), but Im going to that wedding, and I’m going to have a BLAST!
On a FAT note:
I also have someYUM-A-LICIOUS cupcakes coming to my house tomorrow, and me and my friend Paulette are going to gossip over cupcakes and all sorts of frozen big girl drinks 😀 I know I was just complaining about being bloated, but I haven’t eaten anything worth talkin about in a LONG time-especially with the surgery-week before, now on my second week. I think I can afford a sinful delight-or two! LOL! I’m sure I’ll go into sugar overload, but Im OK with that.
On a stamping note:
YIPPEE!!!! I have another video for you!! Just a quick one I did, while still doped up on pain meds-see same horrible hair, and you can kinda tell I’m a little loopy! LOL! At the time I thought I was “fine” obviously NOT! LOL! I watched it today! YIKES!!
I think its a great, informative video (despite my lack clear thinking) on how to custom color ALL your embellishments, which allows you to SAVE money!
Anyway enjoy it! Its at least good for a laugh.

Some of the content there I am told is “R” and “X”rated and you may not want to do that around young children. So if you just watch the video here on my blog, and avoid the thumbnails you should be OK. Not sure WHY they don’t have ONLY stamp related videos pop up, but I guess some aren’t.
Bottom line: Click at your own risk!

Thank you
I still haven’t been able to STAMP or create anything. Even sitting here too long KILLS me. But it felt good just to SMELL my craft room 😀

Hi Lauren, I hope you continue to get feeling better. I love all of your fun projects. I think we all have a wonderful friend that got us into stamping / cardmaking. Thank you Annette! You were always there to help me and loan me stamps or stamp pads until I was able to create on my own. I love all of the PTI products.

So thats it for me.
Don’t worry i’ll get pics of the cupcakes in a jar!

Wow Lauren! Thanks for all the awesome ideas! I have a few Copics in PTI colors and I often search for matching gems and other things.
Excellent, excellent tips Lauren! I’m going out to buy everything in white! I loved it on the Bella Dots, great idea.
I love copics for this very reason. (thanks for showing it on your video) I mentioned yesterday that from now on, I’m only buy white and clear buttons (black cause it goes with everything) and then I’m going to custom color my buttons for the project I’m working on. Regarding what you call bloating, I think it was more swelling from the surgery. Glad to hear the dress fits. Have fun at the wedding.
Lauren that was a VERY helpfull tip I would have never thought of it. Some times I say oh I can’t do that I don’t have the right color. Now I will! You know how hard it is to get those papertrey buttons in certain colors! Yeah! You truly are the best! Thanks
smarty 🙂 great video…like the button one too 😉 Glad to know you are feeling a bit better – AND that the dress fits! WOOHOO!
Hope you & Paulette have a great girls night tomorrow! {{{HUGS}}}
BTW – your hair looks super cute like that…and I LOVE Paulette’s new do – she looks awesome – not that she didn’t before – but I do love it – I think it makes her look younger 🙂
Thanks for the great COPICs tip. Also, glad to hear that your dress fits again!
Perhaps, an investment in waist high support panties to support the surgery area would help you through Saturday evening. Don’t buy a tight pair that would become uncomfortable, just enough support to keep the surgery area from feeling stressed.
When I was taking vicodin, one third of the tablet would be plenty of pain killer for me.
Now, I am going to watch your video.
Oh boy! I’ve been trying to avoid getting these markers for some time now, but this makes them really hard to resist!
Thanks for the info and I hope you feel better soon!
Many Blessings,
Melissa
HI!
I’m one of your groupies (he he) but for some reason I can never watch your videos when it’s posted through Veoh…….I think it has something to do with me living in Croatia, Europe.
Hope you enjoy your cupcakes! Thanks for the GREAT tutorial, that’s so cool. I’d heard about using them on ribbon (but had completely forgotten!) but had no idea you could use it on all of the different types of ribbon, or on other things. Thanks sweetie, you’ve just saved this girl a whole loada money!! I’m off to stock up on some whites! :o)
Glad thing are going well! I can understand on the meds thing but take care so you don’t hurt too much.
I’m going to check out your video in a bit. I took the copic certification a few weeks back and it rocked, now to practice practice!
Great video Lauren, and I’m so stinking jealous of Stacy I could spit! LOL!
Hey Kiddo –
It’s so nice to see you up and about! Still take it easy, okay?
Loved your video today – such helpful ideas!
Have a great time with Paulette. Tell her hi from me! Enjoy your time together and don’t worry too much about your tummy being bloated. It’s from the surgery and it will go down in time.
Big, big, BIG hugs!
Renee
OK I’ve been throwing around the markers idea asking all kinds of questions cause of the cost I’ve been very long in my decision. You have brought me closer to a purchase, the video just is awesome now to decide which ones lol. Thanks Lauren once again you came thru with something very helpful.
Lynn
ps. glad your back in your craft room and doing better.
WOW WOW WOW! I have heard of people using Copics to color ribbon & flowers. But I didn’t know all the stuff they can be used for!! Thanks so much for the demo. I’m gonna go play with my Copics now!!
Glad to hear you are doing better. Take it slow, though… I can tell that would be hard for you, but try!!
How do you say “I LOVE MY COPICS!”? I have the Sketch markers and the ABS-1 system. They are the most versatile tools I own. I do use mine for coloring all the items in your video and more (have you tried coloring transparencies, stickers, white chipboard and rub-ons?). It just makes me MAD that I bought all those colored items before I learned this trick. I’ll be glad when all that stuff is used up – requires too much storage space and wasted time searching for just the right color! Now I mostly buy white, black, and metals – and I can have any color embellishment my little creative heart desires!
Incredible video Lauren! Enjoy your weekend plans and have fun with Paulette!
Hi Lauren, sorry but I can’ t see your videos. Are they available in you-tube?
One of the interesting facts I learned recently is that the amount of water retention can vary your weight (especially in women) by as much as 5-7 lbs…. on any given day! That’s one reason most reasonable (ie, non-crash) diets suggest you don’t weigh yourself every day. Of course surgery does all sorts of weird stuff. I don’t know whether they did it in your case, but for some surgeries they actually pump gas into the abdomen to hold the other organs out of the way. Talk about making you bloated!!! Anyway, I’m glad that the dress fits. I hope you will enjoy yourself at the wedding, but try not to over-do it.
Dude….I can’t believe I never thought to do this! Thanks for the eye opener!
I need to get those copics! When I had my surgery (three at once) I was on so many meds , pain and antibiotics , they all reacted with each other and I ended up in the ER two days after they sent me home. I had to be put on a “scrubber” that got all the meds out of my system and start on only one pain med and one antibiotic. They were making me sick and making me feel strange about myself. The Dr. said it was because there were too many. Take care of your self, and have fun at the wedding, but you better not over do it, you’ll know it!
What a great tutorial, Lauren! we always surprise with your talent and creativity. I am going to start buying those copics markers. Like you said it will pay off at the end because they will help you to save money on other embellishments. I love this tips and techniques videos. Would you consider making one in color combinations.. I mean what colors goes together. Do you use a color wheel? Anyway hope you feel much better.. you look great.
Oh my gosh! I never even thought of that. You’re amazing! Thanks so much for the tip!
Girl, you are absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!! Thanks for sharing the tips with us.
Glad you’re feeling better. Bloating is NORMAL! 🙂
I love your videos…doped up or not! You’re just fun to watch, such a “real” person, not too formal. When I watch you I not only learn some great stuff, but I feel like my friend just came over to show me something.
Can’t wait to see cupcakes in a jar. I did the same thing with meds when I got home. My nurse cousin said it’s because liquid form (IV’s) and solid form are different. I just alternated Tylenol and Ibuprofin.
I was searching for pictures of organized craft rooms and came across your picture but I quickly forgot what I was looking for when I scrolled down and saw your video about Copic markers. This was SO helpful and now I understand the Copic craze! I have added them to my wish list for Christmas. Maybe if I am really good, Santa will oblige. Thanks again for your excellent video!
