Got Etsy?

Mar 22, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, My Timeless Templates, Tutorials

YES! YES! I DO!!

I’m happy to announce my very own Etsy Shop-My Time-less Little Treasures

I am specializing in ONE OF A KIND gifts and gift packaging! FINALLY! I ordered a BUNCH of stuff today to expand my collection of GIFTS and not just packaging items. I will be adding cards in there are well. I may take requests for cutsomized packages-not sure yet. Im pretty busy.

I am STILL in the process of uploading all my CRAP to sell, so keep checking in if you are interested. If I made something you are interested in and not yet posted-shoot me an email!

All the pieces are signed by me (since I did make them :D-kind of like when you buy pottery! LOL!).

I get SO many requests to sell my items, and asked WHAT do you do with them?

Honestly, I package them up in a box and they SIT in a room doing NOTHING. I usually do package up my cards and donate them every few months though!! Now I can get them OUT OF HERE!

Basically everything I make, be it with my templates, for a tutorial, or just for fun (I never re-make anything) will be put into my store and available for purchase!! As soon as I get to it all. Right now I’m focusing on recent items I made.

FINALLY!! I can check off ONE more New Year resolution. I had been wanting to do this for a long time. See I KNEW I’d find something to do with my time while Im bed bound next weekend! LOL!

(Thanks to the PUSHING of my dear friend Paulette who was going to drive me insane if I didn’t get this up & running SOON! Thanks Paulette-you know I LOVE YOU!)

So Check out my NEW!! Etsy Shop –>HERE! I honestly have NO IDEA how to price stuff. I feel so in the dark. I tried to base it off other things I found on Etsy.

On another note:

Yesterday I was at Stamp New England! It was so fun. Those women  WORE ME OUT! WHEW!!

Ill post photos and videos of that maybe tomorrow. I want to be able to give it proper posting!!! So Im not going into details 😀 I think everyone had fun and I SOOOO enjoyed getting to meet everyone who attended. It was nice to put faces to names.

Hugs to you all and thanks for stopping by.

I just can’t do it all!

Mar 20, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

OK so my gallbladder attack REALLY put a lurch in my stamp time!

What little time I did have, I had to prep for Stamp New England (Im most likely there by the time-you read this-Saturday Class! Ill post video/photos soon!!!) and JUST got done at 10pm (Friday)I cant wait to meet everyone!

I also spent the day at the doctors and getting info on my surgery for my gallbladder removal on Friday! Everything looks good for that process, but Ill be living on a VERY BLAND diet till then. I will have it done laproscopically. I don’t HAVE to have the surgery but it is highly recommended as I have TONS of stones!! My doctor said another attack is HIGHLY probable as this has started quite some time ago. I don’t want to live like this any longer than necessary-and the thought of another episode BEYOND freaks me out.

Ill have an afternoon procedure so they want to keep me overnight-especially since I never had any surgery or history of any healthy issues they want to be cautious.

Anyway-All that being said Im so happy to read I’m not alone! Thanks for the kind words and sharing tips and your own experiences and advice! Needed it all.

Well that brings me to the “I can’t do it all!” part
I have a sketch but NO sample :C I will definitely get one done this week-promise!

I have a huge to-do list before Im out of commission for several days. Im going INSANE just thinking about it.

OK onto the sketch. Im really tired and need to go.

I can’t wait to see YOUR take on the sketch and share the fun we had at the class!

    Till tomorrow-

    cupcake-in-box.JPG

Since last years Papertrey Ink project using the socks for the “Bun” in the “Oven” project, and now, with the latest release of the actual “Bun in the Oven” template, I am swamped with people asking “How do you make the cupcake out of socks?”

Well I think it is much easier to SHOW you, than it is to explain it, so I posted a video clip to share

Between how easy the box now is with  the the printable template, and this cupcake sock video, you are sure to start whipping up sock favor gifts in no time!

All you need is your Bun in the Oven box template, and 2 pair of socks!

Now you are one your way!

I thought it was a heart attack

Mar 19, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: About Me

    Literally!

Im going to share an experience I just had that may help you!

I am also going to lecture you all-and myself at the same time! If something is “wrong” with you SEE A DOCTOR! I;m notorious when it comes to health issue of my OWN to avoid them like the plague. However my children, I run at the littlest symptom. Last year I had a lump under my arm for a YEAR before I got ti looked at, (that turned out to be a cyst-but I waited till it grew to seek help-not smart) then here I did it again……….

Last night (or should I say early this morning) I was hit with severe chest pain. Take your breath away, can’t breath, wake you up out of a dead sleep, kind of pain.

It was in the center of my chest, radiated to my back, and down my right shoulder. I couldn’t breath, and of course began having a panic attack over it. Its scary when you can’t breath and when you do it HURTS more.

Sadly I have had a much MILDER version of these symptoms over the last few months-and chose to IGNORE it, because it always went away after a few minutes, and wasn’t severe. They always happened about 10:30 at night, and usually went away in a few minutes. However the last 2 lasted hours-but was bearable.

I was nervous about it-but really didn’ WANT to know WHAT it was. I know, not smart. But I’m a mom and didn’t want to find out if I had something serious. I have a job to do here, and can’t have anything fall apart with ME> Now I see I should GO to the doctor to stay healthy.

OK back to my pain- I then had numbness in my arms and face. It was getting worse by the minute and I knew I had to go to the hospital.

I told Jason to call 911, and I was taken to the hospital via ambulance.

On the ride there I couldn’t even catch my breath to talk the pain was so bad. I had O2 on, got nitroglycerin twice, and baby aspirin immediately.

BOY how embarrassing is this? That is all I could think. I hear people often mistake indigesion for a heart attack! I didn’t want to be that person.

Then after arriving at the hospital -while having an attach my blood pressure was 110/62-which is fabulous, and then after a FULL workup we knew it wasn’t cardiac at all!

    WHEW!

My labs and  everything were perfect.

Nothing I did (now going on 3 hours of the severe pain) would help of worsen my pain.

UNTIL-he pushed on my right lower quadrant. I felt that pain shoot to my back, up to my shoulder, and down my right arm!

After an ultrasound it was confirmed I was having a Gallbladder attack! Read the bottom set of symptoms-that was ME! No symptoms from the top category.

Basically feels like a heart attack but can last MUCH longer. WOW! Thats scary.

So what does this all mean-basically since eatting better for the last 6 months I have begun to develop stones in my gallbladder, leaving it unable to process FAT very well. My body wasn’t getting the fatty stuff regularly, so it wasn’t flushing it all out anymore. It just sat there.

It was explained like a pan of bacon. You keep the pan on and the grease and fat is liquid. Once you stop cooking it becomes SOLID-YUCK!

So its the same thing with my gallbladder. I was eatting fatty foods, so everything went on its merry way. Then I changed my lifestyle and only eat bad stuff on occasion, and was obviously paying for those occasional treats at night! LOL!

Given the fact I don’t eat hardly any fatty foods anymore, anytime I’d eat anything a little fatty-it would cause me the pain!

Now my mom had some health issues yesterday and I spent the day at the hospital with her. We then had a fried fish dinner after to end the day……………….Like I do when I eat out, I ate 1/2 for lunch, the other 1/2 for dinner. That was the WORST thing I could have eatten!

Well me having virtually NO FAT in my diet, then eatting what later felt like a “heart attack on a plate”, equaled my poor gall bladder to just say” NO WAY am I dealing with that LAUREN!!”

So this leaves me to today. I am resting up, have the nitro headache side effect, and am trying to think of what I CAN eat without another attack.

I still plan on going to Stamp New England (God willing!!) Saturday.

Im terrified to eat anything at this point because I want to avoid another attack so Im living on fruit right now. No coffee-nothing. Plain water here.

I have to have my gall bladder removed, so am seeing a surgeon tomorrow to get that all set. I just want it all over with.

Lets just say its NEVER a dull moment here.

I also have to say I feel blessed that its not anything more serious. I shouldn’t have waited to such an extreme for seeking help. I am terrified to have an attack like that again-especially if Im home alone with the kids. They would be so scared. There is no way to act like everything is OK!

I do have to watch for the slightest fever because that means I am developing an infection and removal would be urgent.

You don’t need your gallbladder to live at all. Nothing changes. It should be a day procedure. Ill find out more tomorrow.

OK so my point is-go to the doctor if you need to, and if YOU have had these same things-its most likely not anything THAT horriffic. Maybe having had my daughter go through so much I feel like I should be OK with it all too.

So that was the start to today.

Maybe this was TOO much info, maybe it helped someone. I dont know.

Im feeling better already. Just very tired from the events.

Thanks for letting me share, and I hope I helped ONE person who may have similar things, feel better about it all.

OK going back to bed now.

My Papertrey Ink newsletter project will go LIVE later tonight! 10pm EST.

     So don’t miss that.

    Squigglefly for the kids

Mar 18, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

This post is all about Ambers card she made for her party this past Sunday. I wrote a few days ago, when I made the Hello Kitty Captured Card Case gift, that Amber had a birthday party to attend.

Well, I am BEYOND happy to report that my “little card box” ended up being a favorite gift of the birthday girl! It beat out all the Princess Barbie’s and other fun girl stuff she got (we also got her a flying Tinkerbell doll). From the second she opened it, she wouldn’t let it go! YEAH! My heart swelled with delight. Normally I sit and watch in horror as the 3D pieces of my hardwork gets pulled off right before my very eyes! LOL! I have come to actually EXPECT this, given these are little kids and are all still relatively YOUNG-pulling things apart is far more fascinating than thinking how much time was spent MAKING it, so to see her carefully handle it and love it, was awesome.

She even took it into pre-K the next day for her show & tell! AWE!! Isn’t that so cool?!

That brings me to her card.

I have to remember I have a little crafter, who likes to make stuff of her own every bit as much as I do! LOL!

Amber informed me she was IN CHARGE of the card. OK then.

She had seen me downloading my Squigglefly For You image, and wanted to use it!

Now the cool thing about the digi stuff is you don’t have to let the kids ruin your ink or stamps! LOL! Not that mine do, they have been stamping longer than some adults! LOL! But its nice to print up a bunch of images and just let them color away like a book!

Now the photo I am sharing AMBER took ALL by herself! She wanted the FULL “what mommy does” experience!

    Amber’s Turtle

    amber-took-turtle.JPG

    This is what she made!

She went through my stash of papers, and we found COPIC (yes I let her carefully use my most treasured stamping possession!) marker to match the paper she picked for the card.

She then “let me” (in her words) make a “base” for her to put her colored and cut turtle on.

Now all I did was trim around the flower, but she totally CUT and COLORED the turtle totally on her own. I didn’t FIX or trim out anything extra! Shes a whiz with the scissors! I think she rocked it. She then affixed it at an angle. I asked her if she wanted to fix it to go straight. She quickly reminded me of something “I” say “not everything has to be straight and perfect all the time! I want it like THAT”

Oh boy!  A mini me. Not sure WHAT I created! LOL!

You can’t see it but she also used the glue pen and put orange glitter on the shell where she colored orange, and pink glitter on the shell where she colored pink! Really good job. Mind you she is ONLY 4!

She did let me take a photo of her

    amber-tutrtle.JPG

Im already so proud of her. I think I may have to watch out for my JOB when she grows up! LOL!

    Here is the inside

    amber-inside.JPG

Poor kid-I wrote on a paper for her to copy what to say IN the card.

“Happy Birthday Abby” She knows how to write Love Amber on her own, and she wasn’t use to the LOWERCASE “A”  “R” “H” and “D” LOL! She did good though. Especially given my horrid handwriting.

I think she is just the cutest thing on 2 feet. She is seriously hilarious with the stuff that pops out of her mouth.

Then Noah wanted to make a card-100% ALL on his own.

    NO help with anything.

    noahs-card.JPG

    Noah and the turtle

Then I played with the turtle on my own

    turtle-wishes.JPG

    Hello Turtle

I am sending this to Ava.

Ethans little sister, with some other cards I made for them!! I hope she likes it.

I wanted cute, fun, bright and CHEERY!!

    turtle-close.JPG

    I had fun making it.

So that is it for today. Im off and running. Got to get preparred for Stamp NE! Im teaching first! So ladies you better be all coffee’d up so you can keep up with me! LOL!

It will be good to get it over with. Im excited to meet everyone. Wait till they see the awesome package I have for them for our project!! OK thats all Im sayin.

    Later!

    A little Lizzie

Mar 17, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Home decor/3-D items

OK Im offically burnt out now! LOL!

It was just “one of those days” that nothing goes right. Too much to get into, but by the end of the day I had had it.

4 hours on the phone with Noah’s urologist, and lots of errands to do.

I TRIED to take a nap, but with THREE kids-ended up just begging them to behave for an hour so I could just rest (with no luck of it actually happening), and wasting all the energy jumping in and out of bed-made me worse off that I was before I tried to lay down in the first place.

Instead of just being nice to each-other for ONE whopping hour, they decided to scream and fight over the Wii-so that went off, then it was what video they wanted to watch-shut that off, then they were arguing over the crayons-OK- took those too, then it was This is MINE blah blah blah blah…….oh and the list goes on.

Sometimes being a mom can be so exhausting. Endless days of playing referee. There are NO time outs, lunch breaks, or punching a clock and the madness ends. It TRULY is full time.

Im sure many of you can relate. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE my kids, but somedays are better than others. Oh and yes, there are worse things, I know that first hand, but its not “normal” to not “complain” about the other stuff too.

OK see-this just goes to show you NEVER know where Im going to go each day when I visit. I never “plan” what Im going to say! LOL! I generally start linking my projects and saying hi. Next thing you know I begin rambling on and on about whatever is in my insane little head at that moment. YIKES!

So since I can’t get a smidgen of rest, I decided to actually post some projects. I WAS going to take a blogging break since I just posted a bajillion projects, a video, and have another video ready for my PTI newsletter later this week-but may as well referee the kids from where I type instead!

First up was my Lizzie Anne Designs Project of the Month-

     easter-card-box-basket.jpg

you can view the details—-> here!

    Used the bunny single

I LOVE how the masking turned out on the “egg” for this card box basket.

    Very cute.

Now I have 2 simple cards using the Damask set (as I get ready for peeks with the Spring Release!)

    damask-bday-sent.jpg

I wanted a SIMPLE, elegant, and maybe even “masculine” (OK thats a stretch) birthday card.

This definitely fit the bill. Black and gray are just stunning together. This would be an awesome invite to an anniversary or other BIG event, don’t you think? Simple and easy to mass produce. The top was done with my Labels 1 nestability. Im just so happy with it.

Next up I TRIED going with making a pattern

    damask-hear-sent.jpg

Not my favorite card in the world, if we are being honest. (said using my best Simon Cowell imitation)

But, Im sharing it anyway. Yes. I do make lots of DUDS! LOL! This is proof. Too much going on, no direction. Lots of meaningless layers. Overdone is an understatement. Like the colors-but that is it. I was TRYING to go with something different than I had done with the set (and tha tis using the largest image, and that large leaf) but alas I just love the other projects I have done, leaving this one in the dust.

The sentiments can also be found HERE! They are from the winter release.

OK Im off to tend to the kids-again.

Tomorrow I have a Squigglefly post 😀 just having fun.

    Thanks for stopping by-

Monday’s with My Time © is here!

I have a UBER cute idea for a gift box using the Newest My Timeless Template © release of Bun in the Oven ©

A you know I think the templates are full of endless possibilities! I so enjoy sharing more and more, even after the releases!

    Here is another idea.

    Hippity Hop Bunny Box

    bunny-box.JPG

This is a photo of what we will be making today!

    Complete with tail!

    bunny-tail.JPG

    Is it not ADORABLE??!!!

More photos are included in video. As are the directions.

Think Easter, Spring, Baby-or ANY TIME just plain adorable box! Change it up  just a smidge and it can be a teddy bear, skunk, cat, dog, and as seen yesterday- even a turtle. Just by switching the colors, and the ears!!! Oh and the TAIL!

All you need to get started is the Bun in the Oven template!

    Cardstock of choice

with Ink of choice-along with some acetate

    Some stamps of your choice:

I used-Pond Life, Wise Owl, Everyday Classics, Heart Prints, Borders & Corners Hearts

    Punches: I used

2 inch circle, 3/4 and 1/4 inch circle, large heart punch, large & small oval punch

    bunny-top-side.JPG

I don’t know what to say, other than I feel like I’m on a rollercoaster of creativity with that particular template. SO many things to be made. Way fun!!

    So let the video begin!

    [veoh v18011091ceGsSnrN]

NOTE: DO NOT CLICK ON THE THUMBNAILS !If you click ON the thumbnails AFTER the video it takes you to the Veoh site. Some of the content there I am told is “R” and “X”rated and you may not want to do that around young children. So if you just watch the video here on my blog, and avoid the thumbnails you should be OK. Not sure WHY they don’t have ONLY stamp related videos pop up, but I guess some aren’t.

Bottom line: Click at your own risk!

I am not responsible for content that links to the videos from the Veoh site.

    Thank you D

I had so much fun making this, and I hope YOU do too.

I like to think that these videos on Monday are a bright start to everyone’s week D

As you know on Monday’s I have started my weekly video feature, and I think its going well. I “think” most of you are enjoying it as much as I am. I like making them-just not the other stuff-like editing! LOL! Same as card making. Thats the BEST part-the photographing and stuff is the icky part for me.

I LOVE teaching. Love it. Videos for me, are better than actual classes because there is NO prepping 20 things for anyone.

Since Im such a TALKER its much easier for me to express everything that way, rather than type a journal here. I could talk paint off a wall if you let me, I swear. I think many of you clearly realize that by now.

I also find that most of you “get it” more than my blah blah blah, step by step photo stuff.

    Am I right?

I do want to spice up some of my videos and have some funny ideas for that in the future D So Ill save that, for then.

Thanks for watching the video. I love hearing what you thought, and of course if it inspired you to actually TRY it!!

So thanks for stopping by, and making my day with your words 😀

    Till tomorrow

    Life:

This stamp set is SOOOOO pretty. I really loved working with it, and making the silhouettes in COLOR, not shadows.

    with-appreciaiton-shilouette-2.JPG

I adore this card to pieces. Not my usual colors, but I adore it all the same. I think its stunning.

It also used Mega Mixed Messages

This is a MINI notecard/envelope set

    silhouette-set-2.JPG

The melon berry is the card layer. It opens from the left. I think its perfectly pretty, and petite.

I love how it turned out. I took my own envelope tutorial to make a mini envelope to match!!

    Guidelines Two:

What is NOT to love about this set. I wanted to use it over and over again!! You will definitely be seeing patterned papers from me-handstamped-more often. Its now SO easy to align everything.

I loved making my own patterned paper with this set.

Its GORGEOUS, fun & easy peasy.

    tea-front.JPG

I used the Bun in the Oven template to make a tea box!

I know I package tea every month, but you can’t have enough fun ways to give and store it! LOL! I love tea.

    tea-side-1.JPG

This set also used Mega Mixed Messages-the “enjoy” sentiment, as well as the anniversary set-everyday classics

I also used Guidelines Two, to create a turtle box (also using Bun in the Oven template)

    turtle-box.JPG

This is perfect for a boy! Or get well wishes.

    turtle-shell-side-feet.JPG

Now the back has to be as cute and finished as the front-so here is the shell -complete with tail!

    turtle-shell.JPG

The tab punch are the feet. The box is the belly.

If you think this is cute wait till tomorrow! (HINT! HINT!)

    Mega Mixed Messages:

I don’t know about YOU, but I used the original set endlessly! This one is for those times you wishes that MUST HAVE sentiment set had a big sister! AH! Now it does.

Then I decided to use one of my most loved creations: The baby onesie-with the addition of a bib! I think it looks ULTRA cute with the bib addition.

    Directions for this card —HERE!

    baby-bib.png

Now to give you an idea of HOW much of a size difference there is, you can see the “baby” sentiment on the bib.

The bib used the original mixed messages, then the “baby” in the lower right corner is the MEGA size.

    I love it.

Well that is ALL for me today. I can’t type another thing. This week is always the week my family lives on Mac n’Cheese! LOL! Not that the kids complain.

OK I’m getting some rest before I post my video for tomorrow.

    Don’t miss that one-another template project 😀

    Thanks again for stopping by.
