OK this is NOT fun. I think Im getting the Flu. I swear it loves me this year! So much for the Flu shot I got. This always happens what I get REALLY stressed, and NEED to be able to “do stuff”. It seems to be running rampant. There was even talk on the news that the Flu “epidemic”was hitting NH hard.
YUP! Its HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! AGAIN :C
Now I need to stay away from Noah, so he can have his procedure tomorrow. Thera-Flu here I come. Also ANY advice to kick this hard and quick would be appreciated 😀
BLAH!
OK moving on. I feel like such a “downer lately. Sorry about that. No one wants to read complaining. I know its a big pain, so Im going to be much more upbeat the rest of the week.
On a happy note I got a video done! WOOT! WOOT! Not the THREE I hoped for! LOL! But hey, I’ll take ONE. Now I need to edit and upload. Lets cross our fingers OK!
Today is Day 1 of peeks for C.C. Designs.
Today’s card is a peek at a NEW! Friends sentiment set byAmyR-which will release March 2nd.
(the stamp image isn’t a peek-just the sentiment:D)
I have to say for some reason this set was a must use on ALL my peeks this release! LOL! I’m a sentiment junky, and Amy’s sets are great for people who want a lot, for a little 😀 You get a plethora of sentiments for like $15! Crazy right?!
Anyway-you’ll soon see why I couldn’t stop using it 😀
Friends are…
I had to use this ADORABLE image from Stampavie the Sarah Kay line called Precious moments. She is stamped on natural ivory (so NO your screen isn’t wonky!-I kept this SUBTLE!)
Also don’t forget to check the Stampavie Blog for more samples from the team 😀
This is my first card using this line! I have to admit I was a wee bit intimidated to color it, but I think it turned out cute 😀 I had fun using her. I just had to let my pre-conceived notions of what is normally done, and put a “Lauren” spin on it, instead of trying to make it what everyone else does (which is utterly A-MAZING!). But I like my more SIMPLE approach too.
I LOVE the Holly Hobby feel these images have. Brings me back to my childhood 😀 Oh boy! Im “dating: myself now. I mention this to people younger than me and they are like “Holly WHO?!”.
The little chics are flocked, so nice and fuzzy, just like a new baby chic.
I was inspired by the patches on her clothes, so I used a patched piece of patterned paper by K & Co. I kept the colors muted for the most part-more “vintagey” that way I think.
I used somePrimas and some YUM-O Vintage buttons in New Leaf 😀 I need to get some more linen thread! I wished I ordered some, but forogt :C BUMMER.
Anywho, hope you like it. More to come tomorrow 😀
Be sure to check out the Blog daily for more samples from the team, inspiration and YOUR chance to win the sets being revealed over the next few days.

Beautiful card Lauren!
Oh no! Not the flu! Not you! Not now! I’m sooo sorry you are sick.
You are right – you must take care of yourself and let Jay take care of the kids. You surely don’t need any of them sick – especially Noah.
I truly hope you feel better soon.
Hugs,
-mary
There is a beautiful peaceful feeling around this creation Lauren 🙂 I love the fact that it’s not all loaded up with sparkle and embossing and all that jazz. Don’t get me wrong, I love my embellishments but I think sometimes it’s nice to just leave things basic and artistic.
As for your Flu Bug, can’t help you there (just got rid of my second round too on Tuesday–BLA!) and I don’t know how well these over-the-counter meds work. I just think they “mask” the illness for a time so perhaps you can get a few things done that you need to. The only thing I know that I always have on hand for the flu, is Motion Sickness ~Gravol~ tablets and Alkeseltzer (the one you drop in the glass and it fizzes). That reallys helps if you have an upset stomach as or even a headache. That’s the best I can do for you, so make sure you rest, close your eyes, and forget about the World Of Crazy Stampers for a day or two :0)

Hi, what a beautiful card. Your colouring is fabulous
xx Monique
I hope you are feeling better very soon, Lauren. Sorry to hear you are under the weather.
I had a Holly Hobbie pillowcase and sheet set my grandmother gave me when I was young. I love her and this image you have here is just darling!
Thank you for taking the time to share when you don’t feel well.
Thoughts and prayers coming your way for Noah’s procedure.
I hope you get well soon! Being a sick mommy is no fun!!
Oh, and I know Holly Hobby. I used to have some sheets with her all over them. Loved those…they were so soft!
OH no! i hope you are ok. Take some cold ease sort of thing, maybe that will help.
love your card!
I’ll say a prayer for everyone so that things turn out okay… and I chuckle at your request for advice on how not to get so sick…. I think you have your own answer if you go back and reread some of the blog entries… it might be that when you are stressed and superactive, your immune system takes a hit and then puts you in a position to be susceptible to more sickness… kinda’ like a vicious circle. You need to take care of yourself girl! And although as tough as this may sound…maybe slow down a bit?? You took on the problems of your brother; you took on the new baby support; you have your children and husband to worry about; you have your work; you started the video projects; you just redid the basement…no wonder :-> Never mind that the stomach and flu bugs are going around as well. So take care of yourself! Remember, stress is silent too…. Your body is trying to tell you something…
Take care & get Better! and I hope life calms down a bit for you :-> We don’t want you to not be able to share your creativity with us. {{{{{Hugs}}}}}
Lauren,
Sorry to hear you are getting the flu. Can you get some Tamiflu from your doctor? If you take it early it helps to shorten and less your symptoms. Drink plenty of fluids, too.
Also wanted to say I love all your creative templates. They are great for that “just right” packaging.
Beautiful card! I think sleep/rest (which none of us stampers and especially moms get!) is the best to prevent, but I really swear by the Airborne tablets too — I haven’t been fighting the flu, but hubby and I both have not gotten colds (while my daughter ended up with pneumonia by refusing to take it!) when we’ve taken those Airborne tabs as we were feeling down — makes the symptoms less too if you’re too late to prevent I think! Jeanne
I hope the procedure goes well…that the dr has a skilled hand…and I hope you are over your flu quickly.
great card!
Wow! Love that card . Those images intimidate me to color as well but you did a fab job! Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I did read that blueberries are suppose to help with the flu. Zinc and vitamin c together help the immune system too and of course R&R. As a mom we are so good at taking care of everyone else we always come last.:(
Just to let you know that just like Strawberry Shortcake, My little pony and the Smurfs…Holly Hobbie may be making a comeback…My daughter just got a Holly Hobbie DVD for Christmas…There is hope for this generation after all!!!!! LOL…Beautiful card as ALWAYS
So sorry you’re getting sick… again! Love the card but please take some time to look after you. We’ve started using Oil of Oregano. Horrid stuff but seems to help. It’s the new wonder-herb. 🙂
I LOVED Holly Hobbie! In fact, when I was about 5 or 6, I got a Holly Hobbie sewing machine for x-mas which I adored! Thanks for making me remember that lovely x-mas.
Sorry to hear you’re sick. I take echinacea pills. 1 a day when healthy and 3-5 when I’m sick (until I start to feel better). I have also tried ColdFx, but didn’t find it helped me.
I’ve also started using an aromatheraphy nebulizer (diffuser) with an immune boosting blend of essential oils. We’ve been using this in the house for a few months now, and so far, no one has become really sick (Ava has just had a very mild cold – slight coughing and nothing else). Not sure if it’s coincidence that no one has gotten terribly sick since we bought and started using this, but so far, so good..and we are a household that always has a sick person who passes it on to the rest of us.
hope you feel better! we’ve all had strep going through our house (without any health insurance – NOT FUN!) so I feel your pain. Gorgeous card though!
I take a couple teaspoons of Elderberry Extract every four hours initially, also called Sambucol. (Tastes good, too.)The key is to take it as you first feel sickness coming on… I’m like you, I have no time to get sick and always gets me when I’m a little more stressed.
If you can, start eating yogurt to get your insides balanced again.
Just hoping you get better sooner than later.
Sent with a prayer and a hug,
Tamrah T.
Oh Lauren I am so sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Lord knows you have a full plate right now. We all have ups and downs so you do not need to apologize. You always bring us great joy with all you do. Hang in there and I hope things get better soon. Take care and TFS.

So very sorry to hear you are sick and not feeling well. Hope you are better soon.
This card is so sweet. I love how you did the designer paper on the side. Very cute.
Now I have you tempting me with these little cuties!! How sweet is this?!! I love it!! TFS!
So sorry you’re feeling so yucky. Wish I had a magic formula to make you all better. The only thing I can say is lots of fluids and rest. Like the rest is going to happen?!? Keeping you and Noah in my prayers!
Love this terrific card, Lauren. Loved how you used “patches of paper” to echo the patches on her clothes and your image is so beautifully colored!
Oh no, so sorry you are getting the flu. I hope it doesn’t last long. My hubby swears by zicam and airborne. It has been hitting hard here in so cal as well. I hope it doesn’t last long for you.
Love the card. I have that same image from stampavie. Used it once. Love it but the images are intimidating because they are so intricate. I do plan on getting another card or project done using her again. I love them.
So sorry to hear that you’re not feeling well AGAIN! It really stinks! hopefully Noah won’t catch it so you don’t have to reschedule his procedure!
As far as getting over things, quickly, if you have a lot of nasal congestion, try the neti pot or a nasal rinse. It sounds really gross, but it works really well! Just have to get over the initial ick factor! Works really well for allergies too 🙂
Have your DH ask the doctors for suggestions to keep Noah well after he returns home. But as you probably know, don’t start giving him anything before surgery, without asking first.
I hope you quickly feel better.
Hot tea and local made honey. Lots and lots. I just got over the virus and it took me down for a week and left me weak! Cute card, nice job and keep smiling. Put on lipstick, stop stressing, dress up and that will all help. Stress is just worrying about and borrowing trouble from tomorrow when you have all you can do to deal with today. Write down what stresses you and put it in a stress box. Look at it the next day!
Lauren, you always amaze me….. I check your Blog daily and you always inspire me… you are so talented and I love to hear about you family life Too….. I hope you feel better and all goes well for Noah hugs Deb
Hope you don’t get the flu Lauren! Try Oscillococcinum ( I think that’s how it is spelled) I got some last year when my DH was feeling like he was getting it. He took it as directed for a day or so and felt much better. He paired it with a SUPER hot bath…he had it so hot you were sweating…basically sweat out the yucky stuff.
Adorable card! I like the “Lauren spin”! LOL! I love how you chose your paper, and the lay out is a great one! I am a big fan of the flocking too.
I hope you don’t get the full blown flu Lauren. Wish I had a sure fire way to keep it from knocking you down flat, but I don’t. You will be in my prayers though!
I LOVE the way you color your stamps! This one turned out really cute, as always =) I hope you get better soon and I’m looking forward to the video. I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers, especially tomorrow 😉
—Jacqui
Cute card and yep, I was thinking Holly Hobbie too! Great coloring and Lauren spin! Sure hope you feel better and don’t get the full blown flu. Ruth’s Jewish Stamps has the funniest stamp – at least I thought it was cute – just couldn’t justify the price plus postage yet. Look at it on line and maybe it will make you smile. It is a tanker truck loading up on the chicken soup! Or, the bottle of Chicken Soup RX with the saying – Heave Forbid you should need more medicine than this! Take care.
hope you are feeling better soon!!! prayers to noah!!!!
Oh I loved Holly Hobbie too! I brought my doll back with me a few weeks ago after a visit to my parents house. DD just grabbed it before I got on the computer, and put it in my picture tent, and said I should put it up on my blog. Told her there was no “craft” with it…so she grabbed a card and said it looked old-fashioned like the doll! (Already have the card up). Now she is posing a little stuffed dog by the card….how cute!!
Thinking of you during your day with Noah, and hopefully you can get some rest!!!!
I feel for you 🙁 we’ve had the flu hit our home 3 times too. Hubby only got it once. I got it twice and our on got it all 3 times. Just when I thought we were done for the year, now I’m on symptom alert again…. one of th kids in the carpool started coughing coughing coughing. UGH!
Yah… life is good. LOL
Goodluck tomorrow Noah!
sorry you might be getting sick.
Try those cold swabs-sorry i can’t think of the name of them. They seem to really help me. My whole family has been sick. I knew i was next and so i rubbed one of those in my nose and it seem to help. I only felt that yucky one day. YEAH!!
I had a Hollly Hobby sewing machine…LOVED it…LOL…so I’m dating myself also..lovely card…very different from your usual…and I just love it! (not that I don’t love your usual…I do 🙂 )
Hi Lauren,
cute card- as usual 🙂 I have to tell you I have no defense against the flu and I used to get it EVERY year until I started using ZYCAM (the Q-tip swab ones). I have not had a cold or flu for 2 years now. IT’S AMAZING STUFF!!! I take it right when I’m starting to feel icky- scratchy throat n stuff. It truly works for me.
This card is so precious. And I really hope you don’t get the flu. Do you believe in Vitamin C?
