Hi everyone
I had received an email that disturbed me greatly.
I was informed before this that if you clicked attached videos at the end of my videos, some of the videos had NOTHING to do with papercrafting. I was told there was R rated material.
I posted a disclaimer to NOT click any links after my videos so you don’t get taken to these sites.
That is why I post the videos to MY BLOG- so no one sees what else may be on the major video website, of which I have NO CONTROL over.
I have NO control over what is linked to my video. I specifically have to put in tags and list if content is appropriate for all (obviously my site is very clean as is its content. ) ALL my videos are How To and craft related.
I didn’t think anything “dirty” would ever get attached.
So I got another email……..
One viewer did click the links-despite the disclaimer, and was brought to some very bad stuff. VERY BAD!
She was upset and said angry that “I” would link to that material.
“I” am not linking to that material and had no idea this stuff was getting attached to ME somehow.
My last videos linked to other stamping related videos and quite franlky should be linking to MY past videos or other stamp how to’s not X rated stuff.
I am outraged and upset this has happened. I have promptly emailed the people at Veoh about this matter and questioning why MY content would link to THAT content as it is unrelated
So PLEASE if you watch my videos HERE from Veoh-DON’T click any links!! I have no ideo what is on there or why, just know I am doing what I can to fix that.
In the meantime I may not even resume videos, as youtube is too restrictive.
Im sorry if anyone was offended, I do believe Veoh owes us all an apology. I should not even have to worry about such a thing happening.
Again Im sorry and please know I did NOT intentionally put any of that smut to follow my videos. I was just trying to find the best and easiest way to better share with the world (without it being UNDER 10 minutes) what I love to do and this happens.
So Im done with that.
No more.
Sorry again.

Lauren,
Just wanted to tell you I LOVE your blog – I have become “addicted” to it!!! The unselfishness with which you share your ideas is awesome and you should not be held responsible for what an external site does. Keep up the great work and know that you are appreciated more than you know for what you do!
Thanks!!
Well there is always a nut in the area and it is NOT your fault! I read the disclaimer and after watching your video, I clicked off the site! Some people should take the time to READ before they CLICK! You have done nothing wrong and just consider the source! We love you and your videos! Maybe you can go back to You Tube and do a part one and part two on the longer videos as we enjoy them sooooooooo much! Renee
I can understand how upset you are over this issue. Please remember that we do not have control of actions of others. Obviously, the person who wrote you does not know alot about uploading videos, I know that you can not control what follows your videos. You are doing us crafters a HUGE favor of taking your time to video, edit, and then post to your blog. Heck blogging along takes alot of time. I truly hope that you continue your videos. I Love them and have learnt alot so far. If someone wishes to click on the links at the end, you or no one else have control over that. A hug from me to you and I hope you do continue.
Lauren, I am so sorry to hear that you have had to deal with this! You have provided so much information and inspiration to your readers. I don’t know how the video sites are set up, but the fact that you put a disclaimer and warned viewers to not click on any other links, should have been sufficient! We all know you only post great content on your blog and in your videos…this person who angrily emailed you should have known that these links were NOT your doing! Also, why DID she click when warned….people have to be aware in the cyber world that you can quickly and easily get taken to a site you don’t want to visit. But when people go looking to place blame, that is just wrong! I am sure that the videos were an attempt on your part to take papercrafting projects a step further, by showing us exactly how to make certain projects. And I am sure it required a lot of time and work on your part. It is too bad that it has caused you problems. Well, you know what, I wouldn’t worry one tiny bit about anyone who might be angry about it. I would be upset that the video site evidently does their own linking which is not right, esp when it goes to X-rated sites. No one wants their stuff to link to that. Hopefully the video site can prevent that from happening in the future.
Enjoy your new niece!! Babies bring such joy to a family, despite the exhaustion that goes along with it!

Lauren ๐ I’m sad this is happening to you. ๐
Seriously, Those of us that know you (well, KNOW as in we have visited your blog so often that it is like we know you even though we only really know you via the http://www...) know that YOU would NEVER EVER link to smut. You’re a classy lady with a good heart.
The truth of the matter is… sneaky, evil, no-good-doers (Those that make those yucky videos) put a dictionary of links in their tags that go with their videos so that they automatically get linked with good videos. They know that if they put “how to” and “craft” and “paper” and “stamping” and any of these words in their tags to describe their videos, even though they have NOTHING to do with their videos, they will get a potential audience that they wouldn’t have otherwise.
Readers….take some responsibility for your actions. Stop blaming Lauren when you clicked those links after Lauren’s videos were done playing. Lauren didn’t send you those links. She only posted the video that was pictured in her blog not the ADVERTISED videos listed afterwards. Just like with email: Don’t click on it if you don’t know who sent it to you.
Lauren, I read your disclaimer and did not click on any link. The person that is upset should have done the same. Shame on that person! You did what you needed to do to alert the public. I too, enjoy your videos very much and appreciate all you do to help me and other “challenged” crafters. Thank you so much and keep up the good work!
Lauren, I am so sorry that this has happened to you. Anyone who follows your blog should know by the content of your blog and your sincerity that you would not link to anything of this nature. That person that is angry with you has no reason to put the blame on you after all she ingnored the disclaimer plus everyone knows or should know how careful you have to be when using the computer. There are plenty of warnings out there. You are doing what you love to do and what we love to see you do and you do it soooooooooo well. Hang in there and please know that there are many of us that follow your blog that know you have only the best intentions.
Lauren, I won’t reiterate what the others have said, which is all true. However, I would ask, that although this was upsetting to you, please don’t take away your videos because of one person who didn’t bother to read. Your videos are so informative, I would hate to lose them. I pray that God will bring you peace on this matter.
Lauren – any one that is truly a follower of your creativity knows that you wouldn’t allow R-rated items. There are some really sick minds out there.
Keep up the great stuff and the BS will find a new home!
I am so sorry someone blamed you for what happened. You specifially told people not to click on any links. Everyone knows (except one ridiculous person, evidently) that it is not your fault.
I SO love your site, and having your ideas presented in video form was a bonus. You are so incredibly talented, and so generouse in sharing your ideas. I just want to thank for all you do and share. If you choose not to post any more videos, I understand, but please don’t let one crank upset you. Take care!
I understand, I really do, but I don’t think you should stop doing something so beneficial because a few people can’t read directions or because they are just too curious to see what pops up. You keep up the good work…go girl!!!
I totally agree with what’s been posted thus far. I saw the disclaimer and did not click on anything and all was good. If she clicked on the links then it is on her for what she saw. It’s NOT your fault. I love the videos and a really hope you don’t let one person ruin a good thing. Thanks for all your do for us in cyber world.
Lauren,
Please don’t feel bad that someone was offended! This is the internet and following links unfortunately leads us to some undesirable content. You warned us all to that ahead of time. You are not responsible for the actions of a fellow adult in following links! You are amazingly talented and we love that you share your work with us so selflessly! I know that it is easier said than done, but you really shouldn’t take this personally or feel responsible for this at all! You have done nothing wrong!
Lora
My dear Lauren,
Please know how many of us support everything you do. When there is just one person who reacts that way it tends to ruin it for everyone else. Please don’t let that happen. We all know what a wonderful christian woman you are and you would never do anything intentionally to hurt anyone. Let this leave your mind and continue the wonderful things you do. Just remember for everyone out here that leaves a message of support there are tons who agree but just don’t take the time to write. The internet is not a perfect place and we need to understand that from the beginning. Keep up the wonderful videos and tons of the rest of us will be happy!
Love,Ann
I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this, Lauren!! It’s so NOT fair, when all you’re trying to do is educate and share. I wish I could give you a great big hug!!
Don’t sweat it Lauren! Seriously, anyone worthwhile would know that you would never link anything inappropriate to your videos and honestly, I’m more annoyed at the person who e-mailed you than I am at Veoh! For her to upset you like that and accuse you of linking to inappropriate content is just outrageous. If you lose this one person as a reader, so be it! The rest of us love you!
Hi Lauren!
Oh no!!! I LOVE your videos! I am usually more of a “lurker,” not commenting on anything, but taking it all in, but I felt the need to comment to this whole situation. We all read the disclaimer…you could not be any clearer in your blog entry about it! What one or two people choose to do after your warning is on them, not you…not even Veoh, if you want to go that far! Should Veoh link questionable material to your videos? Of course not, but that is providing Veoh even knows it’s questionable to begin with. Point is, EVERYONE needs to be aware of what they are clicking on. Your warnings were clear, concise and explicitly stated. Do not let one angry person ruin your good intentions. There will always be miserable people in the world looking to blame someone for something they had nothing to do with…does that make sense? Anyway, I love your blog and all the work you do. Keep it up girl!!!
Hey Lauren, I’m so sorry to hear this and I’ve found that this type of thing has happened to me on my blog as well and I’ve had to block many things from coming in as other people were being taken somewhere else and it had smut in it!! (which of course has nothing to do with my blog either!) It took me a while to get junk taken off and back to normal, but another reason why I won’t do videos either. Wish it wasn’t this way for us crafters trying to get stuff put out. BIG HUGS!!
Lauren….your blog is wonderful and anyone who reads it regularly KNOWS what kind of person you are, and I would hope, know that you had not personally linked anything bad. I know you are hurt and upset about this, it is painful to have your character questioned. I am so sorry that you are feeling this way. There is a reason for everything, don’t lose any sleep over it. Keep pluggin’ away and don’t lose your joy over what you love so much. Veoh DOES owe atleast YOU an apology! Hugs~~~~
Lauren, please don’t feel so responsible. You did everything right. Please don’t let the negative people spoil a good thing. Your sharing is wonderful. I learn from you. You give me impetus to try. I’ve lived a long time and I’m weary of people spoiling good things. They always do it with such a self righteous tone. Let’s be on the side of the good and continue to feed and support one another. – Nimmy
I love your blog. I learn something new from you daily. Please do not let one persons short sighted comments dissuade you from doing what you love. Believe me, those of us who “know” you do not question your character! Love and hugs.
I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this but please don’t stop the videos. You’ve spent too much time learning how to use the software and we enjoy them too much!
I think you just have to be careful about what you name the videos – that’s usually what they go by when linking other videos to yours. Your last video name contained a slang term for a certain part of the female anatomy so I’m guessing that’s why it happened.
Don’t let one rude person make you forget how much the rest of us love and respect what you do! I just joined a card making group on Yahoo and one of the women mentioned she was going to something you’re going to be at and another woman told her that she wishes she could meet you because you have inspired her SO much.
Lauren,
I LOVE your videos and would hate to see you stop doing them just because someone else has issues with the links on the videos. I have spent a lot of time on the internet and I know that there are lots of bad things out there. It’s our choice whether or not to click on them. And unfortunately, sometimes it looks as though we are clicking on something legit, and instead the internet redirects us to somewhere we definitely didn’t intend to go. What’s a person to do in that situation? Close it and move on! I hope that you will reconsider the issue, and I hope that you do realize this is not YOUR issue, and none of the regular blog visitors are blaming you or questioning your character or judgment over these issues. We all love you and deeply appreciate all that you share with us everyday! Keep up the good work!
Amber
PLEASE, don’t stop the videos! You are such a wonderful inspiration and so many of us look forward to what you have to offer. There is so much negative and it seems this type of thing is taking over the good everywhere not just on your blog. Please don’t let it be another place the bad is winning. Only a handful of people would actually think that you are encourging such awful things. Let the rest of us continue to enjoy your creativity.
Please be encouraged!
Please, please, don’t stop your good work. You are such a bright spot in my day. Big. BIG hug!!!
Lauren, Please don’t let 1 bad apple ruin it for the whole bunch. If this person cannot read the disclaimer, then it is their own fault. We all love and adore you, your blog, videos, everything. Don’t let it get to you!!!!!
Cheer up Lauren,
As you can see there are many of us that LOVE you, and all that you do. I know you to be a a good person with a good heart. I’m sorry this had to ruin your day.
Know that many of us believe you and know you well enough that you would NEVER do such a thing. This was an unfortunately incident BEYOND your control.
No matter what you decide to do with future sharing, tutorials, video or not videos. I will faithfully follow you and your site. You are an amazing person with amazing talent. And we are all so BLESSED that you are willing to share with us.
*Great big HUG*

Hi Lauren,
I just wanted to say 1st off that I am recently a newbie to you and the other PTI people and I love following your blog. Your video’s are great, infact I can’t wait to make the versatility box (which will probably be over the weekend) Please don’t take that joy away from us. I know that you can’t help what happened and that person, obviously has never just searched the web for an innocent thing and clicked on something and got a website that was undesireable – and than you can’t get off. It happens unfornutaley, however you did put the disclaimor on there to protect us, sorry that that person couldn’t read.
You are an inspiration and very generous to share, forget the ugly people in this world and think of the ones you are inspiring!
Thanks, Christy
P.S. Enjoy that beautiful niece!
Lauren, that is too bad that’s happening but really sad that someone would blame you. I’m an IT (Information Technology) professional and have created company websites and links such as these are such a pervasive problem on the web. Links and Tags and such are created to make it easy to locate related material but, as in all things, people with alterior motives use such conveniences to promote their unrelated (and often horrible) material. Companies try and place stop-gap measures to prevent this but as fast as they do, people usually find a way around it. I hope the site administrators can help you with this because it’s a shame to miss out on all your wonderful talent and sharing! Most of us understand that this isn’t your fault and not in your control AT ALL. I don’t click on links anywhere that I don’t know about and would recommend others take care as well. meantime, keep your spirits up and don’t let this ‘little thing’ bring you down. There are much more important things in life to spend happy thoughts on! Thanks again for sharing your talent and inspiration with us! Tracy in Michigan, [email protected]
Please don’t stop making videos! You are not linking to that stuff and even if you were, its the viewers choice whether to click it or not!! Anyone who have ever used any of the video hosting sites knows that there is lots of stuff out there that they may or may not be interested in. Now if once your video was finished, several naked man suddenly appeared dancing on my screen, that would be different, ( i would be saying more more more!! lol) but alas thats not the way it works and I will have to click all on my own if I want to see them! ๐ and remember no matter what you do there will always be people who find fault and or just dont understand how the internet works. Keep doing what you love and sharing it will all the rest of us!
Just wanted to chime in with the rest of your fans…I just recently found your blog (about one month ago) and in that short amount of time, I can easily tell how much you love to share your work and inspire others. You are one of the most positive people I “know”-especially all your posts when you & your kids were sick-I would be complaining for paragraphs & days! And so it really irks me that someone would be (a) so #@%!#[self-censored] as to click the link after your warnings and (b) so @#%*[self-censored] as to then complain to you about it!
I’ve read about how much time and effort you put into these videos and this one person is NOT worth you feeling bad for ONE SECOND about posting your creations and inspiration. I truly hope you continue your videos, but if you feel like it is causing you too much trouble and stress, we will all understand.
And person who send the email: I’m sure if you have any class, you will be emailing an apology to The Wonderful Miss Lauren immediately.
Lauren,
Please keep doing the videos it is good to hear the explanations and see how you do things – I now want one of those glue guns! Seriously we all have to be aware on the Internet these days – how many dodgy emails do we all get each day and how many people go to sites that aren’t the genuine one because they followed a link. It is sad but there is always someone who wants to use good things for a bad purpose. Look after yourself and thank you for all you do. Not doing the sketches just now as we are making me a crafting space in what is our box room – yippee!
ps I guess I will have to go off your blog to see what I am missing!! lol
ps…although I can only attest to puppy breath being a wonderful stress reliever, I’ve heard other testimony that “new baby smell” is also great at that….so go and enjoy that niece!
So sorry this is happening to you, I LOVE your videos!!! Just yesterday I was looking for a gift and I made your versatility box, and LOVED it! Keep up the awesome work you do and don’t let this stop you from doing what you (and selfishly us) love ๐ Hugs your way!
—Jacqui
I totally agree with what everyone else is saying. You have done your absolute best to let folks know what to do and what NOT to do and it is their responsibility not yours. Angie Juda is evaluating other options for her videos right now, you might want to check out her blog and see if there’s an option there that might work for you: http://chicnscratch.typepad.com/chic_n_scratch/

Hey Lauren, just some more support. We all love what you do, and the fact that you do everything with a big heart. If you decide not to post more videos, then I support you. I would hate to see you become frustrated or bitter about any of this. If it means stopping the videos, then so be it.
Sending a smile your way….
Kristi
Please don’t stop doing your videos…at least permanently. If someone clicks on a link after you expressly said not to, then they have no one to blame but themselves. JMHO
I hope that someone who does videos will be able to give some advice so you can go another route, or the one you are using fixes the problem.
Oh Lauren I am so sorry someone blamed you for their mistake. You were given a heads up about the problem and very conscientiously posted a warning not to click on any links after your video. Please please don’t stop doing your videos we all enjoy them so much. Please know that we all appreciate your generous gift of your time and talents. Hugs Ann Lind
Hi Lauren!
So I actually came all the way out of lurkdom to throw my support in the ring for you. Please don’t feel like you have anything to answer for here. You clear told people not to click on the links. If they did it was their own fault.
I hope you are not so upset by this that you stop doing your videos. I have really enjoyed them.
Lauren, don’t blame yourself because someone was curious and clicked on some other item. It’s not your role to monitor people, it’s their own responsibility. Keep up what you do so well for the rest of us. Curiosity killed the cat is an old expression for the very reason that people will always be curious. When they are, the often get what they ask for. Up to them not you, to monitor their key strokes!
I hope you don’t give up on your videos. I just discovered them yesterday and had a great time watch all the how tos which I want to be able to try some time. I’m amazed by your creativity and appreciate your sharing it through the medium of video because I love to see how things are put together before my eyes!
Oh Lauren, I am soooo sorry you are having to deal with this. I do not see how ANYONE can blame you for what some obviously sick people are attaching to you videos. Anyone should know that you should NEVER click on things that attached to stuff like this!!! Not only is is a way to get “bad” things viewed, it’s also a very good way to pass a virus to people!!!
Please do not let “one bad apple” spoil you sharing your wonderful ideas and knowledge with us!!! I have learned sooooo much from your blog and even more know from your fantastic videos!!! You are truly a wonderful person and a very talented lady!!!! I appreciate everything you share with us!! We are all blessed to “know” you!!!
Sorry to hear all this stuff about that one silly person who obviously can’t read or to stupid and curious to go look else where. And than ruin a good thing for us who enjoy your tuturiols. I wouldn’t worry about it we know you are doing your utmost to warn them not to look!
There are a couple of other places that you could put your video on like Motion box , Daily motion. I would certainly really miss your videos. Wendy
Lauren…..I knew you had nothing to do with it so when I saw it I just closed everything. No biggie. (((HUGS)))
Lauren, I am so sorry that you have had to contend with even one complaint. I viewed your video on your blog and had no problems. Even if something inappropriate would pop up, I would never ever think you would be responsible for such a link. Please don’t be concerned about one uninformed person who just doesn’t understand how to use the internet. Your videos are the greatest so please know we want you to do whatever you can to continue to provide them! You definitely have my support. Hugs…….
Lauren, anyone who knows you…..or has spent ANY time on your blog…..would know that you would NEVER condone trashy content of ANY kind. I am sorry this has happened to you. Hopefully, you will be able to clear things up with Veoh as your training videos are WONDERFUL! {{{{{LAUREN}}}}}
Don’t let people venting at you get you down. You did post the disclaimer, and they still made the decision to disregard that and click on other links. There’s nothing you can do about the choices others make. You have a fabulous site and your talent and willingness to openly share it is simply amazing! Keep doing what you’re doing cuz you’re doing a fantastic job:) (hugs)
Lauren, i hope you don’t stop making your videos because someone apparently doesn’t take time to read the disclaimer! You did all you can do which is post it, its up to us to READ it!! I know you would never link to junk like that so i hope you keep on making videos cuz you are AWESOME and i appreciate the time you take to show us how to make those awesome projects! :0)
Lauren, I agree with ALL the comments you’ve received. You did the right thing by posting your disclaimer. People have to realize the World Wide Web is just that–world wide…it brings us the good and the not so good. People shouldn’t be “clicking” everything they see anyway. I hope you will not stop doing your videos. You have been such an inspiration to all of us in a time when we need to be inspried. Keep up the good work!
You are not responsible for what others do. I love your videos and hope you will keep posting. I believe there are people out there that just love to find something wrong to blame someone else for. You said don’t click the links, I watched the video on your blog. Tell that person to grow up and like TV just turn the video off!!
I watched it when it first came out. I did see the X rated material but never even thought of linking it to you. I just thought like you tube they have all kinds of videos on there. We have no control what anyone puts on there and you have no control over where they went after your video in their own curiosity. We all have a choice to watch what is there. I am new to reading the Blogs but I think you are doing an honest and wonderful job. Keep doing what you are doing. People who know about these video sites know that its up to us what we watch..so people just dont press play on X rated videos and you will enjoy mytime videos. Please keep sharing and giving us something to be happy about. Thank You!!
Oh Lauren! WHat a bad deal! WHoever is blaming you for the video sites policies is naive and ludicrous. Hold your head up girl and do what suits you as for keeping the videos going or not. THey have been very informative on the other hand it seems that it’s been a huge time eater for you and then to be bashed on top of it when you have no control over a large companies policies… Keep doing what you do best and that is inspiring us with amazing art and a GREAT attitude about life! ๐ hugs to you!
Lauren — you are such a blessing to all of us. Please don’t stop sharing your creativity through videos. I know they’re a new endeavor for you, and I can’t IMAGINE the work that goes into them, but I am like a kid in a candy store when I see that you’ve posted a new video!
Those of us who pay attention know without a doubt that you have nothing to do with this. Nothing whatsoever. And I’m just sorry that someone had to take their bad day out on you — you deserve so much better than that.
Please know that you are appreciated and we are all blessed because of you!
-Alyssa
Hi Lauren, I’m sorry to read about this issue. I’m from the Netherlands, so my English is maybe not a 100% OK, but when your wrote ‘not’ to click, that should be clear to everyone? Or am I missing something here?
Good luck with your blog, loving it!
Regards Anne-Marie
Lauren, hold your pretty head up high, flip your beautiful blond curls and know that you are much loved in the craft community. Your ingenious CALM templates are unsurpassed. Your artistic use of color, balance, and design on your creations is impressive. Your selfless dedication to sharing and educating in the paper crafting world is incredible. You and your husband have built a happy, stable marriage and are devoted to each other and your kids. You are obviously a dedicated mom to three marvelous children. Etc, etc, etcโฆ
I am astonished that people who canโt read and/or follow instructions have the tech savvy to access the internet โ much less figure out how to click on links. Those are the people who end up with computer viruses and worms but canโt figure how they got them โ after all, they are sooo careful.
Warning! Soapbox speech follows: Itโs infrequent that I buy a bag/basket of fruits or vegetables and donโt find at least one rotten one hiding at the bottom. I just pluck it out and throw it away. I donโt whine, cry, rant, rave or blame it on anyone. It amazes me how many people in our society blame every single bad thing in their lives on someone else. But when something good happens, they are quick to take full credit. I believe this character flaw is at the root of the dire straits America is in. Everyone is pointing fingers, but no one wants to take responsibility. Now there are dilemmas that people find themselves in that just happen โ bad timing, bad karma, illness, death, etc. โBad things happen to good people.โ But how can anyone hold another person or the government responsible when they amass credit card debt by living beyond their means, or buy a home they know they canโt afford? When a deal sounds too good to be true โ it usually is. Nothing is free. Everything has a price tag โ financial, emotional, moral, or all three. God gave us the ability to think, to reason, and to just say NO. And we canโt blame it on the government or mega corporations โ they are all run by people โ people who are infected by greed and don’t just say NO.
Please donโt take one or two personsโ criticisms to heart and let them outweigh all the GOOD things in your life. And donโt let the tiny few ruin it for the mega many. I (and I believe I speak for thousands) love your blog, your creations, your CALM templates, your tutorials, and your videos. The videos transport me to your craft space and infuse me with the warm feeling that I am sharing a cup of tea, some chocolate, and creative time with a dear friend who has tremendous talent. I wish I could take a class from you on creativity and time management.
Big hugs,
-mary s.
I wanted to add my support. I know how hard it is to put criticism aside, but please do try. We’re all behind you!!
Thanks for all the time and effort to make the video tutorials. As many have said before me, you let people know that this could be an issue, you did not intend it to be that way. People get their knickers in a bit of a bunch! The reality is that if we are going to venture out into the world, virtual or real life, we are going to see things that we decide to turn away from. We are adults and should be able to handle it and that is why we monitor our children, until they are adults and are able to make good choices for themselves.
Lauren, I’m so happy to see all the support you’ve received after this upsetting incident! Please let me just add my “ditto” to everything that’s been said already.
Lauren, I have to say that that box video made me so happy. I thought about how much I wanted to make it all day today. i think I’m even dragging the kids to Target to see what we can box up! Please don’t let any ONE person who doesn’t read directions stop you from sharing. You touch a lot of people in a really positive way and bring a lot of encouragement. There are “visual” learners out there who need a video to see how things come together.
You’re welcome to upload your videos directly to Paper Craft Planet (we have a 100mb limit) or Google videos is good too.
Lauren,
Thanks for the info., but this is NOT your fault. I think that any time that any of us clicks on ANYTHING on the web, it is at OUR OWN RISK. We are adults and should be responsible for our actions, specially after you had already warned us that this could happen.
I really enjoy your videos and I’m looking forward to more. Please don’t let one angry person ruin it for the rest of us!
Have a great day!
Please do not stop your videos!!! That is not your fault! Look at all these supporters! We love you!
Lauren, don’t beat yourself up over this. You have no control over what videos are linked to on that site. You provided the disclaimer and made it very clear. These days all sorts of things pop-up on web pages and people need to understand that if they click on them they may get “R” or “X” rated information. However, that does NOT mean that the person whose web page they were on at the time they received the pop-up has any control over the content. After all, the Internet is nothing more than organized anarchy – no one owns it or has absolute control over it. I would continue to use VEOH for your videos (if that is your preference) and just add your disclaimer. People have to take responsibility for their own “clicking” about the Internet.
HI Lauren, ditto to everything said already. I appreciate everything you do and believe me I bet you almost EVERYBODY who READS your blog does. keep up the good work and again don’t let that ONE person ruin it for the rest of us. You are one of the most unselfish and genuine person I know (blog wise I mean!) we all love you, respect and support you!!!!! PLEASE, PLEASE don’t stop doing your videos. {{{HUGS}}}
Why are there always “bad guys” out there that ruin the good???
So sorry you had these troubles. I hope it all gets worked out. And I hope no one blames YOU, because it is NOT NOT NOT your fault! So if anyone is mad at you, IGNORE IT! they are WRONG to blame you.
Thanks for all you do…these days it seems the more good you do, the more BAD things happen. You just can’t know all that is happening behind the scenes.
HUGS to you always! We love you, Lauren! ๐
I feel so badly for you as I know how hard you have worked to share what you love with each and every one of us. Please don’t give up on the videos. What happened is not your fault and I am sorry that it was taken out on you. I have really enjoyed watching your first attempts at creating a video and to see you grow and become so comfortable so quickly! You obviously love this and WE OBVIOUSLY LOVE YOU for it. Don’t let someone squash your spirit. Stand up, give a hair flip and share with us another video for next week! Your adoring public would horribly miss you.
You are doing a great job with the videos, and they are a real service to the stamping community. Not many of us can think in 3D the way you do, or understand how to get from the 2D paper to the 3D creation! The video quality is very good from this provider, you are not restricted to ten minutes like YouTube, and you are not responsible for what the provider is doing.
I do agree that a letter to them about why your content is bringing up unrelated links is a good move, but that is their problem. Even on YouTube, the links that come up after the requested content has finished playing can be completely unrelated and are often inappropriate. That is the price we pay in return for free video.
Keep up the great job. Don’t let one person’s small-minded complaints ruin something this good for the rest of us!
Long rant. I’m done now!
Not going to repeat what’s all above.
You rock – and you’re not responsible for what others put on the web OR VEOH OR nosy people who have to get their outrages somehow (yup – you know who I mean!)
Keep it up, lass, you’re doing a GRAND job !! xx
LOL If you click on the links at the end of the video it actually does bring up your video you just got to wait a minute. It is just that it brings up everything else everyone has linked to that site also on the right hand column. I guess some people like taking videos of themselfs. Anyone at all should know by now if they have the internet that this happens… I was looking for some clipart for Disney one time and can’t believe the stuff it pulled up it was definately not disney. So whoever got mad at you I’m sorry but quite Nieve on their part…. Love your vids btw…
Lauren, anyone who would be childish enough to make such an absurd remark is simply jealous of your talent my love!
Lauren
I’m really sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble with videos on your blog. Please continue with them if you can as I really love watching them and am learning heaps. I really loved the copic colouring video.
Hopefully it all works out for you. I’m yet to investigate how to put video on my blog, great to know what I should watch out for.
Brooke
Oh Lauren,
I’m so sorry you have to deal with this. The world can be an ugly place and it’s a shock to those caught unaware. There are some real scumbags out there. I have no idea how something like that happens and I always view your posts within your blog, so I haven’t been exposed. Don’t feel responsible – all your loyal readers know you well enough to know that you had nothing to do with it. Maybe you will find a better site, but if not, I will be happy with just your regular blog posts – they are always full of enjoyable material. Keep your chin up and never stop creating!
Lauren,
Please do not let someone turn something good into a bad thing. You warned us not to click the link. Just like as parents we try to teach our children to do the right thing and warn them of what could happen, and we don’t always have control over what they do. You can not take ownership of what she did and saw! Remember that you can’t make everyone happy.
Hi LAuren Just wanted you to know I love watching your videos and I would be very disappointed if you stopped doing them because one person cant resist the temptation to look at the stuff you pre-warned us about. Thanks for all your wonderful projects, they have kept me and my children busy during holiday times. Keep up the hard work. You have such a beautiful family and the new addition is gorgeous. Hugs adn Best Wishes Sarah B X
Lauren, how sad that you’ve had to deal with this. I haven’t had a chance to view your latest videos, but I would certainly know that the inappropriate material was not your doing. It’s too bad that things have to be so difficult at times. Hopefully you can get it straightened out. Thanks for all you do. :o)
Lauren ~ I’m not sure what time you posted this message, but there are already 74 comments begging you not to stop your videos. If I type fast enought, I’ll be the 75th begger. ๐
I LOVE your videos. I have no one to craft with, so I basicaly learn any new techniques on the internet. Of course, your blog is one I visit daily, and I’ve learned quite a bit from your picture tutorials. However, your videos have added a whole different learning experience. I’ve watched almost all of them, and was WOWED each and every time!! I loved watching you color with the Copics in real time. The techniques made so much more sense when I saw you actually doing the coloring. The “Over the Moon” owls are a project I would have thought I wasn’t experienced enough to even attempt until I watched your video and saw how easy they would be. Now, I’m saving $$ to buy your template and ALL of the stamps you used, so I can create them myself.
I watch the videos from your site, so I’m not even sure what links the angry reader was referring to. If I saw other links, I’m not sure I’d even click on them. But, if I did, regardless of whether you warned me to or not, I wouldn’t blame YOU for the content of any videos but the ones you posted.
I see how much time and effort you put into your blog and to educating others. Shame on the person who sent you an angry e-mail!! She should be thanking you for sharing your time, expertise, and talent for free!!
Judy
I Love reading your blog daily. With that said I know you would never link something like that to your video. It is not your fault just know you have hundreds of people who will truly miss your videos.
Oh PLEASE…….soem need to get a life and stop blaming others for everything. Her problem……not yours. Keep up the good work!!!
I love your videos! It’s not your fault if someone watches your video and then decides to explore other videos on the site. You specifically said not to click on any other links. I hope you’ll continue to share your talent with us.
Hi Lauren,
Don’t feel bad about what one reader said as the links being attached to your videos are not your doing. And please don’t stop making your videos just because a reader didn’t heed your warning of not clicking on those links (or perhaps they didn’t even read the warning). I read your blog (warning included), I viewed your video and didn’t have a problem because I didn’t click on any links just like you had warned. Anyway, I love your work and think you are uber talented. I look forward to reading your blog every day and seeing what you’ve created. Thanks for sharing all your ideas!
Mary B.
Oh Lauren I’m so sorry! There is always a few in the crowd who do not read everything, I read it & knew not to click on it but I never click on things unless its a link to something related in that post. I know that you would never ever do anything like that & it’s sad that these companies take advantage of us good folk! I hope after awhile you will continue to make more videos for us & share this wonderful craft that we all love so much! I have learned so much from you & hope to continue to do so! Good Luck & extra (((HUGS))) for you today!!!
Dear Lauren,
I have never met you personally, but I have been reading your blog for about a year now. I have learned a great deal from you and can tell you are a kind, smart, person. Don’t let this upset you…you will never be able to please everyone. I love your videos…I do hope you will be able to continue. Hugs to you.
Linda
Lauren, It is a billion peoples opinion to one nag, that you are not at fault. Ignore the nag.
Lauren, I have learned from U-Tube and other sites, just not to click anything unless I am absolutely sure what the video is. It happens all the time that other videos get linked to someone elses. I am NOT offended by this, as I know YOU WOULD NEVER ATTACH SOMETHING DIRTY!!! If someone does go into those links, it has your email addr right then and will be getting smut email from those links.
I loved your video today, and am going to try and make some of those boxes. I was as Target and got some of the Daisy pots, so I’ll have to make some.
Thanks for the inspiration. Alice
Say it ain’t so and never say never! I’ve been enjoying your videos and your entire blog. I know you’re a class act. Wish I knew how to do videos without this problem.
Oh Lauren! Please don’t stop doing videos! I love them. You do a great job and a wonderful service to all of us. I think nearly all of us understand how the internet is never a sure thing and we take our chances. I can’t believe any one would blame you for what appears through a link. Anyone who follows your blog ( and there are a lot of us!) and has read about you and your family, knows that you are not the type of person to link to ‘not so nice’ materials.
Chin up Lauren! We’re in your corner!
Lauren! ((hugssss))
I absolutely LOVE you videos! I’m a teen crafter and this sparks my creativity sooo much! I must say your warning was OBVIOUS and you should NOT let that one person get to you because of their own ignorance. You and your blog are amazing and there are so many viewers who realize the internet can be a dangerous place and we should take what warnings are blatantly placed before us. Good luck with the video mess! <3
Lauren, just wanted to send ((hugs)) to you for having to deal with all this. I LOVE your videos and when you posted the warning not to click on the links after the video in BIG RED LETTERS I did what most people would do….I DID NOT CLICK ON THE VIDEOS!!! Sorry – it just makes me super mad that you are getting blamed for any of this and now because of one person who can’t follow directions we will all miss out on something that was really awesome!! Keep your head up and know that the people who follow your blog would never think any of this was intentional. MORE (((hugs))) to you! Thanks for everything you do!
Heather B.
Lauren, Please don’t stop. We love you. Please don’t let one person ruin all the beautiful work you do. She is very ignorant for placing the blame on you. I follow your blog everyday. I feel like I know you. Keep posting the heck with that one person. Happy Stamin Sue
Lauren, so sorry you had to deal with something totally out of your control. You put a disclaimer up not to click on the links after your videos. HELLO!!!!!!!!!!! don’t click on the links means just that. Some people just don’t get it and out of their own numbness think it’s your fault????????????? Sorry this really bothers me when people do things like that. The cyber world can be good and bad, just use common sense. I hope you will continue your videos those of us who are not clueless really, really enjoy them. I go to your blog all the time and love what you do, it’s such an inspiration to see your creative ideas. Please don’t let this bother you there is always one bad egg out there no matter where you are!!!!
Hugs, Donna :]
I’m sorry you have to deal with all of this. I, like so many of your other supporters, really enjoy your videos and would miss them. Thanks for the time and effort you put into them.
Lauren – just throwing my support in as well.. Please don’t stop the videos. I have taken so much away with them. I love them.
If anyone that follows your website, and knows how wonderful you are as a mother, friend, wife, they should know that you are not that type of person to link that stuff to your website.
Keep up the great scrapping…
Lauren, you are loved and we know you. Sorry that someone did not take the time to REALLY look at your blog and all the great things you do. I personally loved your videos. BIG hugs to you and I want to apologize for someone that was insensitive and did not pay attention to your directions. Some people just like to take, take, take and complain, complain, complain…Thanks for being a person that likes to give and share with all.
Lauren…
I have been visiting your blog for awhile and while I have never met you “face to face”, I know you would never intentionally link somebody to that awful stuff.
You have so much goodness and kindness in you, it spills out in all you do. You even have taken the time to email me after reading about what my son has gone through. For you to take the time to do that when you have such a full plate shows the kind of heart you have.
I just want to say thank you for all you do. You are a blessing.
pscole3467 at gmail dot com
We know it is not at all your fault. We do love your videos and I hope this doesn’t discourage you from making more of them. There are a few other sites you could try such as motionbox, Dailymotion, and Viddler. I am not sure if they have the same 10 min. limit of not, but they may be worth a try.
More support coming from my direction as well, Lauren! I enjoy your videos so much, as do so many others, and we’d be so sad if you stopped doing them. I’m angry at the person who emailed you to complain about something which is so obviously not your fault. You stated clearly NOT to click on any links…and if she did, and was upset..it was her own fault for being so nosey!!
Please know we all apprecaite all the effort and time you put into your blog…take care, and hugs, Stephanie ๐
lauren,
no one should be mad at you! it is not your fault if things get linked, and who would knowingly click on a link after being warned not to????
jamie
Please do not stop making your videos I look forward to watching them and learning from you. The other person should of not clicked on those thumbnails you had warned us. She should of listened, I so enjoy your blog. Oh by the way were did youget that little finger knife. Susan
Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry this has happened to you but I truly hope you do not stop your videos! I’ve never had a problem with your videos – I watch it and I’m done. Of course I do not click any other links so I do not get the messages. It is sad to think that those people think you had something to do with it. Its the internet and there is “bad” stuff everywhere. Its just how it goes. i hope you reconsider – you are so talented and have so much to share. I learn so much from your videos and I appreciate all the time and work that goes into them. Keep up the great work and I hope everything works out in the end for this one ๐
OMG! I just had to post also…I LOVE your videos and even though I didn’t see the disclaimer..oops..I NEVER click on anything that I shouldn’t or don’t know what it is. So anyway having said that..I have to agree with many others that if this person really knew you and what your site is all about and my LORD all the Goodies you share with the rest of us???? You truly are an inspiration to me AND many others! Hope you don’t stop the videos. ; )
Thanks for sharing and giving SO MUCH! You are awesome!
Lauren,
You have my support as well! Please do not let one person get you down. It is her own fault for clicking on the link. It is the internet for heavens sake! There is a lot of sick stuff on the net. We know that you have nothing to do with that stuff! I love your videos! I learn so much from you and am always inspired by your work. I hope you will continue, because you are a terrific teacher.
Oh no!! I just posted you some love on your video tutorials and then I saw this. I’m so sorry that someone had to rain on your parade…all I have seen is one very creative & talented lady taking the time to share that talent with all of us. I actually did click on the video & saw the smut, but I knew that it wasn’t your responsibility to control what someone else posts in their videos. Please, please don’t stop sharing….I just created my first sidewalk…thanks to you & we wouldn’t my creativity to be stifled. ๐
Thanks for all you share….it is appreciated!!
Lauren, I’m soooooo sorry this happened to you. I just LOVE your videos (and your blog). I read your disclaimer and promptly logged off. I think that anyone who follows your blog “knows you” and knows that you would never, ever lead us to anything not family-oriented.
Please keep doing what you’re doing and sharing your knowledge with us.
Lauren,
Thanks for all you do! And you have my support as I truly admire your talent and appreciate all your hard work. To have it thrown back at you is simply not acceptable. Yes, there are explicit videos which randomly appear after you click on the icon but that is not in your control and if people would just READ your disclaimer than all should be well. That is part of the internet and everyone takes a chance when they click on an icon. That was totally uncalled for and you did not deserve it one bit.
Lauren,
I just wanted to let you know that I have been following your blog for quite a while and you mean a lot to me! When I am having a bad day at work, I always look forward to lunch when I can click onto your blog and escape by looking at your gorgeous creations, watch a “how to” video, or just read about your day! I hope that you do not let the people that have negatively commented on your blog or the people that are perverse enough to include key words and tags that would associate their smut with papercrafting get you down. You bring joy and inspiration to so many people – I really appreciate everything you do and hope that your creativity is not stunted through the negative actions of others. Know that you are loved and appreciated!
Lauren,
I think everybody had told you what is needed to say. Everyone is responsible for their own acts, if this lady wanted to see any other stuff, that was up to her, not you. Please do not feel guilty. As you can see we love the stuff you create. You are an inspiration to a lot of people in the craft world!
OH NO…don’t stop the videos….I just recently found you and I am in love with all of your work…..don’t let one bad apple ruin it for all of us….I did notice that R stuff, but I thought to myself, this is a mistake, and all I was concerned with was your work….please don’t stop….
Mary
Hey Lauren, I’m so sorry this situation has occurred. I am one of the most computer-illiterate, having never heard of computers until I was way into adulthood, but EVEN I would not click on something I didn’t know about. Please don’t allow yourself to be stressed over something you cannot control. I hate the links are there, but I’m sure those who post the undesirable videos know how to utilize wording to make them pop up, and we just need to be aware that they are out there and we need to be smart about whose video we watch. I LOVE your blog and your instructions, do NOT let this worry you!
hello Lauren!
Sorry this is happening to you, you don’t deserve to be blame for something that is out of your hands. I know you through your blog and the stories you share with all of us. You are not the type of person that intentionally will do something that will offend people. We are bless that you have this blog to share your ideas and if all of us will have the same heart, this world will be a better place to live. Please don’t feel discourage! learn from this and don’t let this stuff from preventing you to create and share with others. Love to you and your family….
Sil
Hi! Wow.. Just look at the number of posts! Anyway, I personally feel that the person who complained is most unreasonable and ungrateful; and having seen those links that occur after your video, I think that it is pretty obvious from the thumbnail alone that they contain R rated content. So if anyone still goes ahead and clicks on them, it most certainly is their problem, not yours, ESPECIALLY in view of the fact that you already put a disclaimer.
Just wanted to leave this message to let you know how much I appreciate all your effort and your generousity… And I also feel that besides your crafting adventures, reading about the events in your daily life is very inspiring as you are one truly caring and loving person).
Ditto what everyone else said! You are so generous with your tutorials and gorgeous projects, and I hope you will continue with your videos. Your disclaimer was very specific, so if someone was offended, that is not something you can control. I love your videos!
Lauren, I am so sorry, you did warn everyone, if curiosity got the better of someone you are not to blame, you warned us! You are so appreciated for all the things that you do and share here on your blog to inspire so many , THANK YOU!! YOU ROCK!! ๐
Hi Lauren, I can’t believe some people could abuse you for clicking on links that you advise them not to.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t give up on your videos just because of some silly people as there are more of us out here that LOVE YOUR WORK & would be heart broken if you stopped them.
Take on all the wonderful comments you always get as they should always out weigh the negative. You are just such a talented lady & I certainly appreciate the way you inspire me.
Hugs from Australia xx
Lauren,
Please don’t stop the videos. I know a lot of us will watch in pieces, even if you have to have 3 or 4! I am sorry to hear that someone ranted on you about the links. Everyone is responsible for their own clicking on the web. People have to take responsibility for clicking just like they do writing or words. Happy Stamping!
Beth
Long long long ago, I was responsible for my school’s website. Had links to several deaf-education sites. One day got email from someone advising me that one of the links was quite inappropriate, to sum up XXX rated! I checked … gulp! She was right, and I immediately deleted that link.
Later ran into one of the big bosses at lunch, and told him (he was the boss of the Media Dept. and I figured I’d better tell him in case this XXX thing was discovered on my work computer). He thought it was the funniest thing and within hours I was teased by the other admin. at school.
So I know the feeling, Lauren, being aghast at linking to something like that.
Just wanted to add my support too. I shouldn’t be surprised by the ‘sickos’ in our community, but I still am. You take care of yourself, it’s not your fault. I’ll still drop by to read and watch what you post, you’re an inspiration to us all.
Hugz……
Your creations are incredible and your blog is an inspiration. I will continue to follow your blog and appreciate every post.
Sorry you are having so much trouble. You are an inspiration to me. Keep at it! My daughter said to try http://www.vimeo.com to upload your videos. Hope that helps. ๐
Lauren, my heart goes out to you. What a disappointment that must have been to receive such an accusing email. I love your videos because I have a very difficult time with creativity and your videos allow me to create…. step by step. (I play them on my computer in my scraproom and you are my teacher.) ๐ I’m hoping that you reconsider and try the video workshops again. I don’t mind them in Part 1 and Part 2 and Part 3 etc. I’ve got a few tutorials like that. Hang in there Lauren.
There is always one in the crowd! Please do not let one person deter you in doing what you love. She should have taken the time to read your warning. How can anyone accuse you of tagging your videos about crafting to a rated x video. Common sense whould have told her it was the website that did this and not you. Why would you want to offend your fans and customers. She needs to THINK!!! Like you would ruin your reputation in the scrap and stamping world. You are a classy woman who loves her hobby. To go and blame you is absurd.
Don’t let this person stomp on your giving heart. Obviously she is a woman who finds fault in other people’s successes. She must not be happy in her skin. Sorry I am going on about this, I just can’t believe someone would accuse you of that.
Your a blessing to us all,
Janin
Lauren I have hit this by mistake but not for one minute did i think you were involved. I just got out right away before seeing anything no big deal. This is not your fault. Keep up the great Blog and videos. You are one of the best!!. Take Care
Marg
[…] My Time, My Creations, My Stampendence wrote an interesting post today on VEOH VIDEO UPDATEHere’s a quick excerpt Hi everyone I had received an email that disturbed me greatly. I was informed before this that if you clicked attached videos at the end of my videos, some of the videos had NOTHING to do with papercrafting. I was told there was R rated material. I posted a disclaimer to NOT click any links after my videos so you donโt get taken to these sites. That is why I post the videos to MY BLOG- so no one sees what else may be on the major video website, of which I have NO CONTROL over. I have NO co […]
