I’m BAAACCCCKKK!!!

Thanks for all the info re: Amber’s Fifths Disease. She is doing OK. Thank you all for the concern. We are suppose to get rocked with snow today. I hope there is no school so I can get some work done without running around. Alexa is suppose to have her post chemo follow up, but there is NO WAY I’m going out in a storm for that.

On a happy happy note: My brother is moving today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m doing a big happy dance. Now we can make their bedroom into the kids playroom, which is right off my stamp room. Not sure if that will be a good or bad thing yet. I’ll keep you posted. Bottom line, it will be nice for them to have a place to set up for the baby. I will be helping this week and taking her shopping for baby stuff. They have NOTHING and no money. Good thing I love to shop and I have has 3 kids, so I  know what she needs 😀

Well in between the crazy little thing called life-I have been super busy whipping up samples and today, and I am excited about the card I have.  I actually made over 20 samples with the new sets! LOL! But want to spread the love a little bit, and not overwhelm you 😀

Today’s Peeks from Lizzie Anne are:

LB Tutti Fruity
LB In the Nursery
LB Things that Go
SS Supergirl
SS Knight

The actual release date of these sets is the Friday the 9th.

On my sidebar I have links to all the design team members, so be sure to hop around! Also check in on the NEW! Lizzie Anne Designs Blog D

OK here is my Tutti Fruity sample:

framed-apple-slice.jpg

A good apple-

I am in LOVE with this apple image. It was the first thing I inked when I got my new sets in the mail. The sentiments in this set are awesome, and I really went to town with the entire set (to be revealed later :D)

I used a black gel pen to color in the “seeds”, and dotted my flower centers.

 apple-card-close.jpg

Can you see the 2 dry embossed flowers I did? I used an old SU! Brass stencil. I forgot how much fun dry embossing is-

I thought they were a nice SUBTLE element, and they matched the apple flowers too.

Now upon browsing my samples I see that I am in a RED mood. That and green. (oh and black!) I’m not sure what has me in that mode but I was obviously on a roll with it 😀

Next up I had to get a card made for Garrett—-> see this post. So I thought what better image than the Knight!

knight-2.jpg

Now Garrett is being a brave boy, and battling the Cancer dragon! So I figured I’s make him a card for his bravery.

I loved the Knight, but needed “more” images, so I also used the Once Upon a Time set to help me out. That is where my castle came from and my dragon.

knight-close.jpg

The dragon is done in shimmery pastels.

My paper is by SU! Im on a “use my old SU! stuff “kick these days. Maybe because I have an order to place and I want to feel like I am using some of what I have first??? Anyway-I hope he likes the card. More so I hope he wins his fight. I can’t stand hearing about all these sick kids. Its so sad.

Anyway-my sentiment is from Elzybells. It was just perfect.

The card is fairly plain and simple, but it is for a BOY so I didn’t want to overdo it. I just hope he gets lots of HAPPY mail!

Well thats all for me. Im wiped.

Thank you again for taking time to stop by 😀

Later

I’m a little tea pot

Jan 6, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

short and stout. Here is my handle, here is my spout!

I cannot get that crazy song out of head!!!

Hi all!

Grab your tea/coffee (or other caffeinated beverage of choice :D) and have a seat! I have 4 samples to share.

Im so excited for today’s post! Lizzie Anne Designs always has quarterly releases, so I always get excited for the days up to the big reveal! I think this release is my absolute favorite-overall- from them, and I have been with them almost 2 years!

Here is what is peeking today:

LB Tea Time
LB School Days
LB Welcome Home
SS Hoppy Easter

The actual release date of these sets is the Friday the 9th.

On my sidebar I have links to all the design team members, so be sure to hop around! Also check in on the NEW! Lizzie Anne Designs Blog 😀

So I hope you like the sets as much as I do! I have created so many samples that my head is spinning! I seriously could not stop, except I did need sleep, so had no choice (hehehehe)

For the first day of peeks,  I had to share samples with one of my favorite images for a stamp set-me being a coffee/tea set lover 😀 Its called Tea Time.

two-friends.jpg

Two chairs, two teacups, two friends-

This was my favorite card for this set out of the 4 I made so far. Trust me, you will see lots more of this set.

I LOVE that sentiment!!!

I adore the several choices of tea pots, and tea cups, with the option of adding the handle/spout for the different pots. The sentiments are the best! I’m totally loving them all.

I chose these colors since they remind me of tea time in a summer garden. Just so happy.

I really like the layout in this one too. Not sure what about it that screams I LOVE IT, but I do.  I could use these particular images over & over again! I like the balance it has, and use of a large image, with smaller images.

Moving on to show you how the tea pots can be assembled…….

tea-for-tow-tea-holder.jpg

Tea for two

Is this not so cute?! I added the spout and handle.

I made this little tea bag holder card to give to a friend. The top tucks into the bottom flap closure.

Inside are some tea bags with white tea. Really good stuff.

When I think of tea pots I think of my mom. She collects them, and I spend many hours on EBAY looking for vintage tea pots for her for all occasions! She has them all over the house. I love looking at her collection.

She always loves the ones with hand-painted roses, in pink. So, thinking of her, I took the plain one, and doodled some flowers with the tips of my copic markers to mimic the designs in the pots like my mom collects! I did the same on the tea cup image. I love how it turned out. Almost like fine China! OK so thats stretching it a bit, but I still like it.

The little hanging tag was done so the tea holder looks like a tea bag.

The embossed vellum layer is to also mimic the same look.

Pretty huh?

Now for a gift card-

coffee-card-holder.jpg

You warm me up inside-

Wouldn’t this be perfect for a Valentine? Slide the gift card behind the “coffee” cup panel, and its perfect. This actually started as a regular card, (that was inspired by the 3rd creation in THIS post) then I decided to slide the gift card in there. Happy accident 😀

The colors really pop out too, and I love that.

Notice the steam? Its a heart image from the set-too cute.

fancy-a-cuppa.jpg

Fancy a cuppa?

Can you tell I’m in love yet?

And that the flower tea cups are just my favorite? I still have ONE sentiment from the set that I didn’t use, and I HAVE to!! I love it, and have an idea sketched, but time was ticking 😀

This paper is by Chatterbox and is YEARS old! LOL! I just loved it too much in the past to use it. Now I am happy I waited. I love this simple design. The colors make it I think. I also love using tiny images as a focus too.

So there you have it!

My little peek for today 😀

I have at least 2 posts for tomorrow-so if you have time, stop by and say hi! Enjoy the enabling peeks!

Till tomorrow-

Amber Update

Jan 5, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Uncategorized

Back from the doctors-looks like Amber has Fifth’s Disease.

Basically a virus that looks like you have 2 slapped cheeks. Nothing we can do. Contagious 2 days before you breakout in the rash :C

Not a big deal, except for pregnant women-given that my brother’s girlfriend lives with us and is 35 weeks along we have to watch her. She will have a tidor drawn tomorrow, but given she isn’t in the 1st trimester and is in the 3rd trimester she should be good.

Fingers crossed

-Sweet little angel

OK right now I want to throw my camcorder equipment out the window!

I have my first intro video-sort of a “tester” done, and edited (very amateur!) and can’t figure anything else out! GRR! I need to upload it somewhere, and then figure it out from there. Im so not computer savvy, so this is becoming a bigger deal than it should be, I am sure. I know this talk is getting old, but Im going insane, and wasting so much time, its ridiculous. Done for today :C That took up way too much of my time.

Well in a happier note-C.C. Designs is having their release tonight at 10pm! Don’t miss out on them.

Check—>the blog <—for you chance to win.

Now for my sample 😀

angel-on-a-mushroom.jpg

Lots of love-

This is the GingerSnaps Hey Cupid set.

I adore the mushroom girl the most. She is just beyond cute.

Well I hope you can attend their release party tonight at 8pm on the forum–> HERE!

Im off to the doctor with Amber. She has a weird rash that is rapidly spreading!!!!!!!!! EEEK!!!!!!!!!!

So I’m off-

Hey Cupid!

Jan 4, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Its amazing that we are already rushing in with Valentines Day! I have to say I really LOVE making Valentine’s projects. I love the “lovey dovey” stuff, the colors, and the images are really to die for. Maybe because I love hearts so much, is why I’m so into Valentines day. I don’t mean “into it” in the respect that I expect my husband to go all out and whatnot, I just love the creating part of the holiday. Honestly Im not big on getting flowers. Especially on V-day. I swear they jack the price up 3 times more. I personally think its a waste to spend so much on flowers when I could get some stamping stuff instead 😀 I actually just like a nice date with my husband (which usually doesn’t happen on V-day, but anytime near it), and I’m a HAPPY girl. I’m  very easy to please. I don’t ever want anything expensive ,in the jewelry dept anyway! LOL!.

As for yesterdays post, everyone wanted me to post a tutorial for the box. I think I will make that my first video tutorial! Sound good??

I think I have my first video figured out. Stay tuned! That is just a hello one from me to get me warmed up! It was really weird making a video.

OK now onto my peek for today. It comes from C.C. Designs

love-in-the-air-1.jpg

Gingersnaps Hey Cupid line. Be sure to check out the blog —>HERE! You will see more samples from the team, and have a chance to win them.

The release of these images is tomorrow 😀

Here is another view-

love-in-air-2.jpg

Isn’t she so cute????

Her halo is in silver encore ink.

I used heart rhinestone stickers in her ponytails-

 I paper pieced her dress.

Colored her wings with Shimmerz, and glitterfied the cloud 😀

I also altered a little clippie.

Then along the bottom I pierced a faux mat, and added epoxy hearts!

So cute I think.

Now onto yesterday- I had these to peek, but no time to post since I already did 2 LONG posts!

I call this one Bunny Cups- it is from the Hugs & Kisses set!

bunny-cups.jpg

I used a square tube, and it fit my Reese Peanut Butter Cups perfectly!

Don’t ask me how many! I have NO idea, but it was just about an entire bag 😀

The paper is an old one from SU!, and the ribbon I believe is May Arts.

Close-up

soft-bunny-cups-close.jpg

Isn’t he/she so cute? I used pastels for this one. I wanted a SOFT look. The little chocolate is actually 3D. I LOVE anything Christine designs with these little animals. They are just beyond cute!!! My favorite is usually Lucky (dog), and the monkey-but this bunny is stealing my heart now 😀

Last, but not least-Pink Piggy Pop

pink-pig-pop.jpg

Isn’t he so cute?

I just uses a label punch from Stampin Up! And stamped my sentiment on it. I then punched some holes and put my lollipop stick through it.

I them stamped/colored/cut my pig, to sit on the words (like a cloud).

I think it makes a cute little presentation for the pop don’t you?

Simple.

 Easy Peasy.

Well thanks for checkin here. We are off to go bowling with the kids, since its the last day of vacation.

As for all my posts and samples-its just the beginning. This week until after the 15th will be JAM packed with stuff. Then you will see why I have been SO busy!!!

Till tomorrow-

The sketch challenge is posted after the Birthday Organization post 😀

Birthday Organization Challenge!

Jan 3, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Home decor/3-D items

Mission organization:

Well with the New Year officially here many of us feel the need to get organized. I know I do. We often resolve to get more done in the upcoming year, and hope that organization will help us to do that. I am fairly organized, and am endlessly re-organizing my work space. It always has to be clean! After I create I clean it all up like nothing happened.

This month Nichole asked the Papertrey Ink design team members to kick off the new year by sharing what organizational system WE use to remember, and get those birthday cards out on time.

WHAT?! We are suppose to SEND cards out? AND get them there ON TIME?!

All I could think of at that moment was EEK! I need help and ideas too! Can I sit this one out?! LOL!

I’m so not organized in that area, at all! Its awful really. So I took the assignment as a challenge to myself, to finally organize myself enough to actually get a EASY system of organization for myself to actually start mailing ALL cards-not just birthday stuff.

I hope you enjoy what I found to be helpful!

I decided I wanted to create a file system that would allow me to keep the cards I make, and file them into a particular month. That way if make some ahead of time, or for a specific theme/person, I can easily file it, then find it. So I designed a SIMPLE, easy and fun filer system! I made it to match my stamp space of couse, adding some of my favorite accent colors.

fun-filer-front-view.jpg

Here is it! The File and Find Organizer!

I wanted it fun, and functional. I also wanted it as small as possible! I need all the space I can get from my system. The finished size is 6 X 5. Perfectly cute.

All I did to make this box was print 8 of the pretty pockets used from the All Boxed Up template from the My Timeless Templates line. It was SOOOOOO easy! I love the pockets from that template. Wouldn’t you know they were PERFECT for this project too 😀

EDITING TO ADD: The pockets are from the All Boxed Up  template. I created the box to fit my pocket templates for my project. I used ONLY the pockets from that template in this project

Then I created a box bottom to fit my 8 pockets. Stamped it using Polka Dot Basics, and added punched cardstock to match, in the center of the circles. For the back I added a folded piece of chocolate cardstock for a sturdy backing, with a handle punched in.

fun-filer-side-pockets.jpg

Here is a side view where you can see the pockets stacked next to each-other.

I printed 2 of each color-pure poppy, dark chocolate, berry sorbet, and aqua mist. Then simply cut, scored and assembled.

They all fit nicely into the box bottom I created. If I want to take them out of it I can, but there really is no need. The angle from of the pockets allows me to easily remove cards when I want, without taking the sections out, but it is a nice option to have.

Side view 1

fun-filer-opther-side.jpg

I used the Wedding Day set to create the months on my paper tabs (I used a Stampin Up! Punch for my tabs) so I know which box holds what months worth of card creations. I needed 6 boxes just for the months, since I am doing 2 months per box. That means I can potentially hold 48 cards, in advance! 4 per month.

Side view 2

fun-filer-r-side.jpg

The last 2 pockets hold a few must haves to make me actually MAILING my cards possible!

fun-filer-top-view.jpg

The last pocket has some envelopes handy & ready to go! Definitely need those to get mailing.

The 2nd to last pocket holds a pen-stamped to match, to keep handy for signing my cards and a book of stamps for mailing. In that pocket there is also all the addresses of family and friends!

I took the opportunity to take all the names/addresses of friends and family, and save them on our computer so that they are PRINTABLE on my labels! All I then did was print up 2 sets of all the labels,  cut them up in sections of 5, and store them in the pocket! Easy peasy! No more looking for addresses. Just take the sticker off, and put it on the envelope. Stamp with postage and ready to go.

Here is the system-all laid out.

fun-filer-address-system.jpg

Just peel & stick the proper address on the envelope-done.

Now you may be wondering what that calendar page is you see with January across it. Well Betsy from the team created a file to go with her exclusive project for the Idea Catalog with the Music Makeover template, so I used that as well. It will be perfect for keeping track of those birthday’s and anniversary’s!

EDITING TO ADD: The templates aren’t on Betsy’s blog. You get the celendar templates as part of your purchase for the Music Makeover template.

fun-filer-back-calendar-holder.jpg

The occasion tracker slides behind my decorative ribbon band 😀 I printed out each month to keep for a handy reference.

Here is another photo of a sample of a very SIMPLE card layout, that can be easily modified to fit any color combo, and made to fit any occasion-

fun-filer-with-card.jpg

It matches my File and Find set too! I think this card is so cute. It used the Wise Owl set, and inside says “have a hoot of a day”.

See here is another card-same colors, and layout, just different stamp set, and occasion!

same-fun-filer-card.jpg

This card used Floral Frenzy

Here are both together.

card-set.jpg

So, I think getting organized for this was much easier than I thought! I may actually get this goal achieved this year.

Be sure to check out all the other designer’s ideas:

  • Nichole
  • Lisa Johnson
  • Heather Nichols

    Peek of Snow Friends-

Jan 2, 2009 Author: mytime | Filed under: Uncategorized

Hi everyone. The kids are on vacation, and life is crazy. How are you all doing?

Are you crazy with me yet?! Only 3 more sleeps till its back to school, and only 5 more sleeps till my brother gets hs own apartment! YEAH!

OK today I have more peeks to share. Actually this week is going to be jam packed with samples since MFT, and LAD are also releasing some AMAZING stuff this week.

Tomorrow is my Saturday Sketch-and a special PTI group project. Don’t miss that.

Snow Friends is another set that is being previewed over at the ATS Blog. It was designed by Diane. Check in there for more samples, and your chance to win this new set.

    snowman-lauren.jpg

How cute is that little rabbit, giving the snowman a carrot for his nose?

I think this made the perfect little thank you card. I love that Dianne made a snowman set and took it to all “occasion” level. I have many friends who collect snowmen things, and this is perfect for them.

Here is a close up of the details.

     thanks-snow-close.jpg

I had fun coloring the scarf, and adding some snowy glitter.

I used little ribbons for tabs on the side to tie in more of my colors.

A cuttlebug star folder was used for a embossed star detail. Subtle. I like that.

Sorry, nothing too chatty today. Im being pulled in 10 different directions, so I need to wrap it up. Hopefully in a week life will be more “normal” again.

My new year is off to a great start though, so no complaints here 😀

    Enjoy your day!

    To have and to hold…
