To hold it IRL and see the evidence of all the work you put into it and all the detail- not to mention your awesome creativity- really meant a lot to me. Funny- one of the first things I thought (after I collected myself and the tears cleared from my eyes) was that I hoped you took a picture of this because it certainly deserves a spot on your blog!! Anyway, it is not only a beautiful card, but the messages- both scripture and the beautiful words you wrote inside- are so very precious to me. Please do not ever feel bad for us not having as much contact with one another as we might wish. There is no need for scorecards or calenders with friendship! I know you're my friend as I am yours- as I keep you in thoughts and prayers so very often. I suppose no one can stay in touch as often as we might like; that's just life. But you are a dear friend to me and should never feel as if you are nothing less due to our busy lives and there not being enough time in our schedules! Thank you so much for making me this very thoughtful and beautiful card. It's only been a short time that Mom has left this life, and I don't know that it's really hit me yet. I knew it would be hard, but it's true you can never really prepare yourself for such a loss. I can not put into words the hole I feel in my heart. But, the verse you put on the card front is Hebrews 11:1 and that is a wonderful reminder of what we understand by faith. And in keeping that in mind, as well as the verse you put inside (1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you), I am comforted by God who so loves my Mom and loves me, as well as the knowledge that my Mom is with the Lord and we will one day spend eternity together. I cling to that knowledge and my memories of a wonderful woman whom God so richly blessed me with by making her my Mother. I also hold tight to the blessings of having so many wonderful, caring and dear friends like you who are helping me through this very difficult time. Thank you Lauren, more than I can say!
