Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the substance of all things hoped for.
Faith:
Faith-its a simple word, but a difficult thing to have when you are going through a trial in your life. I know first hand how hard having Faith can sometimes be. Often it is all we can hold on to when times are tough, and we are at out lowest point. It often seems when one big thing goes wrong the rest of our world falls apart with it. The bottom of our bucket just falls out, and there is nothing to hold everything we need to fill it with. But with Faith we keep it all together.
That all being said I made this card for a friend. I haven’t had as much contact with her as I would like, but I when I heard her mother passed away last week I KNEW I had to get a card made and out the door, so she knew, despite my lack of interaction, that I was thinking and praying for her through this difficult time. I cannot imagine the grief of losing a mother.
The sentiment is from Everyday Blessings. I inked just the scripture for the front, and stamped the sentiment inside.

I LOVED this image from Stampavie . This one is Lily-the Magic Fairy . I just bought several from ATS-HERE! OMG! I think I’m addicted, these images are just TOO cute. I wish I bought more! LOL! Seriously adorable.
Anyway, this image in particular struck me for this card-to me, she looks like a sad little angel, looking at her ladybug friend for comfort. I used blue for the solemness of the card. I wanted to keep it very soft. I LOVE the labels 1 nestability . I used the inner rim to trace my blue lines, and pierced holes for the “sewing” effect. Looks pretty good I think! LOL!
I colored her with my Copic markers, and added some white dots to her dress. I had so much fun coloring her. I LOVE her glittered wings.
I stamped the bkgd using the old Damask bkgd from Stamping up, on glossy white paper. I felt the bkgd pattern was a mimic to the shape of her wings.
The satin ribbon was a perfect feminine touch, which a stuck a pin in that holds my sentiment.
I hope this brings her some comfort knowing so many of her friends love her, and are wrapping her up in their prayers, and I hope she keeps the faith as she travels the difficult road of grief from the loss of her mom.
Well I hope you all hold tight to your families tomorrow, enjoy this time together, and you acknowledge all you have in life to be thankful for.
More so I hope you don’t wait for a holiday to make those who are important to you know just how much they mean to you. We are never promised tomorrow.
Happy Thanksgiving (in case I don’t get to post tomorrow!)
Lauren
PS I do plan on having a thankfulness post, but need to make sure the things I need to do for the people I AM thankful for, actually get done first! LOL!

Lauren, this is absolutely beautiful. You are a good friend to make such a lovely card for a friend in need. Thanks for sharing. I love everything about this card.
Thanks, now I have to go to ATS to look for this stamp hahaha.
Thanks for this post. It is a great reminder that family is more important than we usually think.
That is beautiful. Your coloring just floors me. Losing any loved one is hard but I have to say that losing my mom is the hardest thing I have ever gone through. I hope that your friend is able to find some comfort from your card.
Have a great Thanksgiving. -Molly B.

Lauren, this is a beautiful card and will be cherished by her. We all know that your love and thoughts are will all of us PSF’s, even when we can’t talk much. Have a great Thanksgiving with your family. Give your kids a hug from me.
Sweet Lauren,
I can not begin to tell you how touched I was to receive this card! To hold it IRL and see the evidence of all the work you put into it and all the detail- not to mention your awesome creativity- really meant a lot to me. Funny- one of the first things I thought (after I collected myself and the tears cleared from my eyes) was that I hoped you took a picture of this because it certainly deserves a spot on your blog!!
Anyway, it is not only a beautiful card, but the messages- both scripture and the beautiful words you wrote inside- are so very precious to me. Please do not ever feel bad for us not having as much contact with one another as we might wish. There is no need for scorecards or calenders with friendship! I know you’re my friend as I am yours- as I keep you in thoughts and prayers so very often. I suppose no one can stay in touch as often as we might like; that’s just life. But you are a dear friend to me and should never feel as if you are nothing less due to our busy lives and there not being enough time in our schedules!
Thank you so much for making me this very thoughtful and beautiful card. It’s only been a short time that Mom has left this life, and I don’t know that it’s really hit me yet. I knew it would be hard, but it’s true you can never really prepare yourself for such a loss. I can not put into words the hole I feel in my heart. But, the verse you put on the card front is Hebrews 11:1 and that is a wonderful reminder of what we understand by faith. And in keeping that in mind, as well as the verse you put inside (1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you), I am comforted by God who so loves my Mom and loves me, as well as the knowledge that my Mom is with the Lord and we will one day spend eternity together. I cling to that knowledge and my memories of a wonderful woman whom God so richly blessed me with by making her my Mother. I also hold tight to the blessings of having so many wonderful, caring and dear friends like you who are helping me through this very difficult time. Thank you Lauren, more than I can say!
Love, Sarah
Lovely image and card, that bow really sets it off nicely, I am sure your friend will be very touched by all the thought that went into this card!
