I love your stitching and gift box! You are so clever and talented โ I would feel so privileged to win it! One of the things I do each year is to put a new ornament on the Christmas tree for each of my grandchildren with their picture in it. I have 5 grandchildren and have been doing it for 5 years now and have quite a collection of pictures of them growing up.

Val contact me with your address so I can mail you the ornament!! Congratulations!!

Head over to the MFT forum on www.splitcoaststampers.comto find out all the details and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. We hope to see you there tonight. I will share some more peeks in the forums ๐
OK now I really have the card to share –
I found some really pretty double sided paper for this card by Imaginesce. Did a little paper piecing to tie in my color scheme. I love how this turned out. Sweet blush, rose red, and various tones of green.
The strip of patterned paper in the back is suppose to be like a unrolled piece of wrapping paper. I used my bridal confetti flowers to color a poinsettia ๐ A felt flower by American Crafts makes up my leaf.
This is usually ME! EXHAUSTED from all the pre-holiday bustle. Especially since I try to make most of our gifts. Its a good exhaustion, don’t get me wrong. I do the day after Thanksgiving holiday dash to the stores at 5 am and shop till the after noon. Then the WORST part-wrapping! BLECH! I dislike that part-a lot. I try and make Jay do it all since he is a wrapping PRO,ย and I did all the shopping. Every year we say we will not over do it, and some how, some way, we do.
We have to make sure each kid has the SAME exact # of gifts. They sit an count them! I cannot believe it. Then I remember being a kid, and doing the same. Isn’t that funny? They don’t care what is inside, as long as its even.
We have them take turns opening, or do the 1-2-3 OPEN. Its so funny.
My brother and I would get up at like 4 am on Christmas morning, and freak out with excitement, till 6 am, if we made it that long, then we would then wake up our parents. Part of why I always wanted more than ONE child was remembering I had someone to share that with. I didn’t think it would be fun to sit there alone. I had some of the best Christmas memories as a child.
ย Robbie (my brother) ALWAYS got stuck waking them up. I didn’t want to get into trouble so I would always find a way to bribe him into it. Then we would have to wait for my mom to get her coffee. UGH! It was a killer watching the entire pot brew! Now that is ME! I need my coffee before anything else.
What is funny to me is because we get in very late on Christmas Eve (usually 1-2 am) the kids sleep really late. Jay and I are sitting by the tree waiting for the KIDS to get up, and we contemplate awaking them because we are so excited. Seeing their little faces light up is what I love. Just amazing to me. The wonder and joy. I love when they go to the empty plate that Santa left behind. They are just amazed. We got lots of questions last year about HOW Santa gets in without a chimney. We told them he has a magic key. Noah was like “I hope he doesn’t come to our house and steel things” THAT cracked me up. Lots of questions……………
Last year Santa and Mrs. Claus came to our house, and even had each childs special gift! That otta get them believing for another couple of years. He looked SO real I almost believed ๐
I will miss these days for sure. This is the best time of year when you have little ones.
Well thanks for letting me reflect. I could just go on and on about the many things I take in during the holidays. I love that time of year.
Well I hope to see you tonight!!

What a darling image, and the way you colored it Lauren just brings it to life! If you hadn’t made that wrapping paper she was holding, I would have thought it was a long list a teenager was making!
I used to hate the wrapping part of Christmas too, but a few years ago my best friend and I started having a girls night out wrapping party after we had the bulk of our shopping done. It’s a good way to spend some time together while getting the job done in a fun way.
Lauren, ours do the same thing with the counting. We get home from Midnight mass and Santa has already been to our house. He even turned on the lights on the tree. My kids go nuts!!! We have no chimney they say!!! It is a tradition my mom started when we were little. The neighbors usually help us out and come in with the gifts and put them under the tree before we get home. I don’t think I figured it out until I was 10 or 12. LOL!!!
The card is beautiful!!! TFS!!!
HELLO LAUREN
This card is simply adorable, what beautiful colours you have used. I hope your internet is sorted out now, I know how infuriating that can be. I lost my internet for over a month. I love the Chica image, I will have to keep my eyes open for when the stamps are released.
Hugs Linda x
LAUREN, THIS IS A HOOT AND ALL MOMS OR GRAMMAS CAN IDENTIFY WITH IT.
I SO ADMIRE YOU FOR ALL YOU GET DONE AND YOUR WORK AND DESIGNS ARE SO NICE.

I CAN CALL HIM CUTE BECAUSE HE IS AND I’M NEARLY 63—SO THERE.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL, TOMI JO
This card is super cute! I have that PP, too, and I LOVE it! The wallpaper is great!
thanks for the memories, I love christmas and almost eveery year buy to much for my girls. I love seeing them unwrap their gifts and just smile. ohh, the card could be me in a few months, LOL
Awesome image. Fabulous coloring!
Lauren: Thanks for sharing your special memories. I love your son’s comment about Santa stealing things. Can’t wait to see the new MFT stamps.
LOL Oh that image is sooooo me! I hate wrapping and to think growing up I used to love it; even got paid to wrap gifts during high school. ๐ Now, you couldn’t pay me to wrap them, but I’m the one stuck with the job.
Hey, I made one of your posts !
And I do vaguely remember being stuck with dealing with the wrath of mom on those pre coffee christmas mornings.lol
Anyhow, I finally stopped to check out your site and blogs…….I am so proud of you, not the best stuff to be reading at work ( alexa’s story ), got all choked up…….but it was really nice to read up on.
I can’t wait to see you, jason, and the kids…………soon enough.Well, just stopping in to say hello, check how things are going in your world, and tell you how impressed I am with all of this…
Love ya, Robbie
If I was living close-by, I would definitely come and wrap the presents for you, I love doing that! โฅ Of course when you spend a whole afternoon doing it it kind of loses its appeal! LOL! I have great memories of Christmas time too but we were opening presents at night, right after the midnight mass, with candles in the tree, it was pretty magical… in the morning we’d sleep in and then wake up to all the toys we unwrapped the night before and be happy to discover them all over again! I always felt very lucky that my family had the tradition of doing it at night, we are not morning persons and this suited me really well!! ๐ Plus I was feeling special for staying up super late! LOL!…
Love your card, great colors and coloring, I usually do most of the decorating anymore, and now that my daughter is away at college I am sure it will be all me, I just take my time now and do it at my leisure ๐ Love what your son said about hoping Santa doesn’t steal anything that is too cute
