Pink Cat Peeks :D

Aug 5, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Good morning everyone! Hope you are having a good start to the week.

My brain has been just SPINNING! Like losing sleep kind of spinning. My brain wants to go, but my body says “Oh no you don’t!” LOL! It’s a gloomy, rainy day here. We have gotten so much rain this summer. Seems like the kids like to fight more when it rains. Maybe it just feels that way.

Anyway, I don’t have much to blabber on about because I have been so wrapped up in preparing for releases, and my classes, that I do not have much else to talk about, and I can’t talk about most of it YET! LOL! Just expect some fun and great things coming you way 😀 PROMISE!

So come back in a little while!

I DO have blog candy today! But that will be another post, and my camera died as I went to get my photo off the computer :C. That always happens! We need another back up battery because its ridiculous!

I hope these cards cheer you up today, or inspire you to create something!

First I will share another with Limitless Limbs (NOTE: these sets are available tomorrow at Pink Cat Studio)

limitless-limbs-4-seasons.jpg 4 Seasons

This size card is 6 X 4 1/4

I LOVED this card. This uses all different elements from Limitless Limbs.

See the first tree is winter, and even the branches are the shorter style. I used various color snowflakes.

Then there is spring! You see little buds on the trees, and two bluebirds falling in love 😀 Not many leaves, yet.

Then there is summer! Leaves and flowers, all in bloom. Branches are more flourished.

Now we have fall. Various color leaves, one little bluebird left, ready to fly away for winter.

These trees really come together pretty quick. You will be so shocked when you see the elements in the set-over 50!!!!

Isn’t it so cute. I swear it would be the cutest thing framed!

Now we move onto another accessories sample-

catching-butterflies-choice.jpg Cheery Day

You know when I saw that there was a butterfly net, and some butterflies in the accessories set, that I HAD to use them! I just love it. Oh and that cat? Isn’t she so Strawberry Shortcake’s cat?! That was my inspiration. Who doesn’t love a pink cat? (pun intended! LOL! Get it Pink Cat Studio? OK I’m lame, but I thought it was funny.)

I thought this card was so bright and CHEERY!! PS the scallop are even on the layer-it just looks funny at the angle I got the photo-sorry.

I recently sent this to a little girl named Avalon. She has a brain tumor and is undergoing her 3rd brain surgery. I don’t know her, but when I heard about her, the least I could do is send her a card. I think this would make her smile. Lily is just so cute, how can you not. I want to send her a little care package, but hoped the card arrived before her next surgery.

It feels good to send cards to people when they need a little pick up. I encourage you to send out that box of cards, doing nothing in your basement, or wherever it may be. I know I do that every few months. Feels so good!

OK I am going to get the kids breakfast and whatnot, but will be back with blog candy.

Also have you seen the MFT peeks?! I have some more to share, but they aren’t done the editing process yet!

Be right back-

hooty-has-a-tree-party.jpg

HOOT HOOT HOORAY! That explains this post! LOL!

I am excited to share my peeks for today with the *soon to be  released* set Limitless Limbs from Pink Cat Studio. Release date August 6th!

This set features 2 different tree’s that are empty. Well, that is until YOU decorate them! Its like celebrating Christmas (the tree decorating) all year long! You will be amazed by the images Melissa put together for the tree’s. You can have items for EVERY possible occassion. Really cute. Trees are so hot right now.

I will share my most favorite of my samples in 2 days! I love it, and am saving the best for last.

For now I will share my birthday tree! The little Q.T. Hooty is in this set. (The sentiment is from the Q.T.Hooty set) I thought he was so cute celebrating his birthday! Presents hangin from the tree, and he has his party hat on, balloon, and of course his cupcake, from yesterday’s post from Chef Billy! LOL!

I stamped my tree, and images. Added some leaves, and sponged in the green using a nestability die as a template. EASY!!

Now we  have my Pear Tree

pear-tree-pcs.jpg Pear tree

This one is a little different. Whimsical but almost elegant. Notice the different tree bases! Cute huh? I love Kraft Lemon Tart, and Chocolate together, with that spot of white.

I colored my pears with a Souffle gel pen. They are pretty in person. This is a very clean, and simple layout, and I LOVE it. I hope ou do too.

Love to hear your feed back on what you are seeing too.

OK Im wiped!! So much to do, so little time.

Make sure you check out the other blogs & Melissa’s site for more details!!

Later!

Summer Sunset

Aug 4, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Papertrey Newsletter

summer-sunset-daisy.jpg

Sunset Daisy

I love this set. I mean really love. This is Floral Frenzy (as is he just because). I like the solid and open image combo, and the pattern in the leaves. Just so pretty, and to me, versatile.

I colored the petals with my Copic markers. I drew my stems with a ruler and marker tip. Pretty HOT!! I LOVE circles-and making my sentiment POP out of one. I used borders & corners circle set (a must have for me), stamped on the base layer (pumpkin pie)-which peek through the top layer (summer sunset). Little bitty bee is from the Honey Bees set.

I was thinking summer sunset, on a HOT day, when creating this.

I wanted to make a card with a COLOR pop, and anytime you use black, it really does help achieve that. I also chose NO WHITE! Don’t get me wrong I LOVE white, but it’s nice to NOT use white sometimes. FULL ON COLOR!

I hope YOU try a non white card soon too.

Thank you for checking in 😀

Its’ all about the accesories!

Aug 3, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

OH YEAH! New release time! On Wed. August 6th, Pink Cat Studio will release 2 new sets -Limitless Limbs (I picked the name!!) and Accessories for Billy & Lily.

I think Billy & Lily have to be the cutest kids ever. REALLY-look at them!! That is what drew me into Pink Cat Studio. Then I found more I loved. I just like her style. What else I really like is that Melissa has expanded their versatility by adding a “accessories” line! YEAH! can you believe it? MORE fabulous outfits! I feel like I am 7 again! Playing dress up with paper dolls, only I get to call it “WORK”, but I’m having a BLAST!!

I decided for my first peek to share the versatility of the dress up accessories, by doing Billy & Lily on a card together!

(NOTE: Every-time Amber see this she really says its her as a cartoon! LOL! I mainly make Lily blond because of it)

dancin-in-the-rain.jpg Hello Sunshine

See-aren’t they so cute?! They are waving HI! (for Hello Sunshine) Oh and that dog-LOVE IT!!! SO in this they are in their galoshes, raincoats, and I used the baseball hats as rain hats.

They are standing in a puddle (made with my A Muse clear oval set-a MUST have for any stamper!!). You cannot see by the photo (bummer) that there are clear raindrops pouring down on their cute lil faces. OK you can if you look REALLY hard! I just stamped their accessories, colored and cut. Too cute for words.

Next up is the very first idea I had when I asked Melissa about this set. I thought a Chef would be UBER cute-and Melissa thought so too. By the blog responses this one will be well loved.

whats-cookin.jpg What’s Cookin?

What do you think? Chef Billy.

I love him. I asked myself-“What is he cooking?” then I remembered I had and the Happy Birthday circle from the Farm Set, and the little cupcake in his hand is from the new Limitless Limbs set (so a tiny peek). So he is cookin up birthday wishes!

I wanted to add to the look or the whole recipe thing, so I used Homemade By from Unity. That is the recipe cards and the cookies/candy sentiment. To me, red gingham and black are so chef colors! LOL!

This could make the most adorable restaurant gift card holder too. Nothing is better than dinner OUT!!

So that is it for the peeks today! Make sure you check theBLOG  (for contest info!! as well as guest designer challenge) and design team blogs for more peeks!

Tomorrow I will have more eye candy with the peeks 😀

Also MFT peeks start 😀 I don’t know that I have anything I can share yet, since I am using my peeks for my “Not so tricky treats” class. We shall see.’

Till tomorrow.

Sketch time, with a team!!

Aug 2, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

Happy Saturday!

Today is a big day here in Pittsfield-its our town Annual Hot Air Balloon Rally. SORRY this is a bit later than planned. I have been busy. Its a big event here, and in walking distance from our house! I look forward to it every year. A great family weekend. I usually KILL myself doing Amber’s birthday party this weekend but since she is getting older, and has friends we won’t do the family party this year. We are having a friend party in Sept. after she returns to school.

We will still celebrate her birthday, ON her birthday, just not this weekend.  The balloon rally makes me sad because summer is almost over :C That is a huge bummer.

So let’s get ot the sketch!

WOW! Was I ever overwhelmed with emails from those who volunteered to do my Saturday Sketches!! Thank you!! With so many willing, I hope more of you will join in, in trying them D You don’t have to be listed here to get in on the fun. Just send us a link here in the comments section and people will be able to check our your take on the sketch.

I want to also let you know that the other girls who will be sharing their versions on Sketch day are now on my sidebar! So make sure you check them out!!

This week I made 2 cards. They aren’t EXACTLY like the sketch, but the point is a starting point.

Here is Cabana Cupcake

cabanna-cupcake.jpg

I had fun making this one. I don’t ever round corners!! But it was a nice change. I was inspired by the rounded frames in the set I used for the sentiment called-  Hello My Name Is . It was a fun way to put the focus on a sentiment 😀

I LOVE this funky little cupcake (OK big cupcake) from the Mini Party Cupcakes. I like that there were 3 sizes to choose from, and this one was perfect. I decided to do some paper piecing with the Canbana papers, (I know “cabana” not your typical thought when you think yummy cupcakes), but I like it. I got the brads to match.

Me, loving sentiments,  had to get circle words. There are so many fabulous sentiments AND little images to put in the center. Way cute. Used a decorated clear button for the center of this one.

Lots going on in this PARTY card, but it was a fun challenge. So since I had so much fun with the sketch I went with another one.

The Road to a Friends House-

bella-sketch.jpg

How cute is she? I have been DYING to play with my Bella’s for SO LONG! It’s been too long actually. The coloring was inspired by Bethany’s card. I just LOVED how she colored a portion of the bkgd. Pure genius!!!

I gotI-wish-i-looked-so-good-riding-a-bike-ABELLA from my dear cyber friend Sonia! I loved that Bella!!! Sonia was so sweet to send me some goodies, and this was one of them! THANK YOU!! Your thank you is coming soon, I promise!!

So for my Bella I used Sweet blush cardstock as my base, and some pretty paper called Isn’t it romantic, and the co-ordinating brads, and the large felt flower.  The sentiment is by A Muse, and is one of my all time faves.

I am still addicted to adding that splatter of color with my color spritzer. I just cant NOT use it now! No idea WHY!!

Anyway that is all for me. I am off to fun family day with the kids! I never stamp on the weekends.

Thanks for checkin in with me. I hope you get to join in for this weeks sketch!! And show the girls some love 😀 I cannot wait to see what all of you come up with!!

Till tomorrow……………
