I love this set.
I made this little oragami pocket party pouch. I will stick Amber’s lipgloss or something in there. Im testing out party favor ideas too. This is a super easy one.

My best party was probably my 10th birthday. My grandmother and mother took me on a shopping spree at the mall. I felt all grown up. Then we got lunch and everything. I skipped school and we made a day of it. I loved it.
On my 18th birthday I got a car for my birthday. My ex-husband bought me a light blue Geo Storm. It was a standard, and I didn’t know HOW to drive a standard. It was like getting a plastic birthday cake! I learned quick by practicing back and forth in front of my house (which was on a huge HILL!!!). I didn’t get my license till I was 18 because I was so afraid to drive! LOL! But, getting a car gave me that push. I still think you should be 18 to drive! (I say that before I hit teen years and being a personal taxi right?!)
Then there was my cabbage patch party when I was 7 or 8. They were the big thing, and mom made me my Cabbage Patch Kid cake (she always made our cake every year!). Whatever the theme was. It was so cool. All my friends were over. It was great. We always had some sort of home party. I remember getting the Michael Jackson THRILLER record album! LOL! OMG! Do you remember that. I bet it would be worth money! MOM! Where is that album anyway?! That was long before he got weird.
My mom worked hard to make our day special, and I think that is why birthdays are so important to me, when planning for my kids. I want them to feel special and remember each year. I even took cake decorating classes to learn to make great birthday cakes. You know I have bought every single one since!! LOL!

Amber turns 4 next week on the 13th! I cannot believe my BABY is going to be 4. She is very OLD for her age. I think our life situation, and the fact she is the 3rd child, made her grow up so fast. But I want to freeze each child right where they are right now!!! They are perfect ages. I can’t believe Alexa is going to be 9!!!!!!!!!! I don’t feel old enough to have a 9 year old.
Oh boy-so here is what Amber asked for, for her birthday.
Her birthday wishes are (in her words)
A Pretty Pink Princess doll that looks like me (she saw the American Girl doll) I wanted to get her a My Twinn doll (ever heard of them?). I read some bad reviews so who knows what Ill do. A lot of $$ to be disappointed.
A mermaid doll that swims in the water (Oh lord where am I going to find one of those?)
Nail-polish that sparkles, and lots of pretty makeup.
Pretty rings and bracelets, oh and a new pocketbook.

I think that was it. I don’t remember the rest. Too funny she is. She wants DORA again!! She has loved her for 3 years in a row. She will have her party when she goes back to school, but on her day we may go to Canobie Lake OR a Mommy & me spa day. But since she will have a Spa party I think that would be overkill. We will let her decide I guess.

Your cakes are to cute and just love the card. The little girl is just a cutie pie. One cake I remember making for my youngest daughter was a ice cream bear cake. Of course my little sister talked me into it. Ok it sounded like fun. When we were icing the cake the ice cream started to melt, so the only they we could do was to take turns iciing the cake in the freezer with the door open. That was tough, but it turned out great. Would I do it again? Of course! Thanks for a chance at this sweet set.

Love your b’day stories Lauren! and I’m all ready with the origami fold pocket since I learned how to make one in your class!!! love this cute set - One memorable b’day for me was when I was in middle school and a very popular girl (I was medium popular!) accepted my invite to come to my party - and turns out - she was just a ‘regular’ nice person and we all had a really fun time at my party! and she gave me a madras plaid wallet (madras was the rage in the late 60’s!) as a gift that I just loved!

First off the weekend before my Bday I had a surprise Bday thrown for me. I have never had one of those before. It was very surprising and fun! And then the day of my Bday we went to a pizza place close by and I had a party there just like a kid again with lots of family and friends. I got NEON for under my car. Now I can be like the Fast and the Furious!!! I am 38 yrs old too! Still young!!!!!! It is not installed yet though. Probably get that around Christmas time like my spoiler that I had gotten for my Bday last year. LOL!!! TFS!

Hi, Lauren. I think your cakes look great…you are way too hard on yourself! I understand, however, because I am a perfectionist, too. The “It’s My Party” set is so precious. My 3 girls are all grown now (sad, but true), but I have some awesome grandchildren who would love the cards, etc., I could make for them with the set.
I don’t think I can recall a “favorite” birthday ’cause my Mom made them all so special…we got a homemade cake w/candles (too many to blow out now) and got to choose dinner / she would fix almost anything we asked for…that was too cool. I carried on that tradition with my girls who also seemed to like being in control. Thanks for the chance to win the stamp set, and keep up the wonderful creating!!

My best birthday present was the year my Hubby went to build a bear and stuffed me a monkey. He dressed it up to look just like him. It’s adorable and I think the idea of my manly hubby in a stuffed animal shop is funny!

my first time to come here, hi* let me share my BEST birthday gift. I received a nice purse from my ex boyfriend a couple years ago. It surprised me a lot because he hate buying girls stuff, but he did it for me which was impressed me a lot!!
Fun cakes! I have never attempted to make special cakes like that for my kids, so hats off to you! On one of my birthdays, a teacher’s aid made my birthday cake for me. It had a girl in the middle and the cake around her was her dress. I need to make one of those for my daughter sometime soon. She would love it!
3 greatess birthdays i will never forget would be my 40th and 41s birthday. My husband threw me a surprize party on my 40th and on my 41st birthday he took the whole family to Ryans and had all the employees sing Happy birthday. Them when I turned 50 my sisters and mom took me to chilis and again I got a birthday song. I had so much fun. when we were kids mom made all our cakes and we got to choose what we wanted to eat. My mom is 76 years old and she still makes us a cake on our birthdays. She also still works full time. IAM SO PROUD OF MY MOM. SUSAN
Actually my best birthday was a couple of years ago. My husband threw me a big “0″ party. I won’t say the number lol! Anyway it was formal and my 2 daughters and I had the same dress and my son and husband wore tuxedos with matching tie and cumberband to our dresses. I made a grand entrance, but first my kids came out one by one to a jazzy Natalie Cole remake then when the horns were kicked up my husband came out and kiss the girls and then adjusted my sons jacket. Then the music stop and then Unforgetable played and I made my entrance. Then my husband escorted me to my seat and then he and my son escorted the girls to their seat. Then we had a video with my favorite songs in the background with pictures of my life. Then we ate dinner and then we had a Christian comedian come in and do stand up. Then a singer sang I Love you Lord, cause you first loved me. Then after we had toasts and then we opened the floor for dancing. I felt like a princess and did not want the night to end.
I received so many gifts and cash and I was able to get the Cricut at Michaels with a 40% coupon! (This was before they stopped it!) I also was able to buy these $150 shoes from Nordstrom. Now that’s a birthday.
I always had pool or beach parties every year and they were always a blast! But my best birthday present was on my 30th when my then boyfriend now husband took all of my friends in a limo to a very cool restaurant where we partied it up all night!
Those cakes look great! I took cake decorating too and know how hard and time consuming it is.
My best b-day gift was a Fisher Price record player! I could play 45’s! Remember those?

I think I was 4 years old and I got a Chatty Cathy doll. I was so thrilled to get a dol with my name. I loved that doll to tatters. The poor thing’s pull string that made her talk eventually broke, it went way too fast. So she either sounded like a chipmunk or if you released the string really slow, she sound like the girl in Exorcist. LOL

The birthday I remember most was my 16th. I come from a family of 9. Not one person remembered my birthday! I never said a word that day but when they realized they forgot it they felt bad. To this day (I’m 43 now) they will call to wish me a happy birthday and my dad will always mention my 16th. (My mom use to when she was still with us) As for gifts-I never really made a big deal out of that. My mom’s banana cake was my favorite thing about my birthday-I still haven’t quite figured out how to make it like she did!

My fave birthday memory is prpably a toss up between the one where my birthday cake was a barbie doll - the cake was her dress that she was stuck into so cool at 7! Or maybe the dollar bill cake that featured me instead of Queen ELizabeth (cdn money :)) Great work Lauren, I enjoy stoppoing by and seeing something new all the time!

My fave birthday memory was when our Baseball Team, The Toronto Blue Jays won the World Series on my 29th birthday. My mom decorated my cake with the baseball characters. My mom always baked my cakes. This is a bitter sweet memory as it was the last birthday I had with my mom. My mom made me so many cakes and my best memory was my white Barbie cake when I was 6. I probably had the same expression on my face as the stamp your offering tee heee heeeee….

Hi Lauren! One of my memorable birthdays (in my early 20’s) was when my boyfriend took me on a hot air balloon ride. I am a bit afraid of heights but after settling down into the ride I did enjoy it. The view was gorgeous. And as we landed in some cow pasture miles from home, I was sure glad to know a car was following us the bring us safely home!

My favorite birthday was my 11th birthday. I got a brand new bike. I had never had a bike before. I felt so free peddling with the wind blowing in my hair.

My favorite birthday was when I turned 21. My parents sent me to Vegas. I got there before my birthday and had to wait til I was 21 to go in the Casino. On my first pull I won $20 so I was happy.
Then my 30th birthday they tried to surprise me but I was too smart. It was great to see all my daycare kids there to celebrate.

Lauren, your cakes are great! I’ve tried making themed cakes before too and they really are a lot of work. The hardest was probably trying to make a princess cake where you bake the cake in a glass bowl-it’s a Martha Stewart idea. You cut out the middle after it’s baked and then stick a Barbie through the middle. You “decorate” her upper body with frosting (the small star tip) and then continue on down in the pattern of your choice for the skirt/cake portion. I, like you, have since bought a cake. At my daughter’s recent 9th birthday I just made cupcakes and they each decorated their own. It was a big hit. As for me, I would have to say my best birthdays were those of my childhood. I grew up on Maui and each birthday usually started with some time on the beach followed by lot of family visiting and hanging out for the day! BTW, love the party favor and thank you for a chance to win this set. PS: about the “mermaid” swimming doll-I seem to remember a mermaid Barbie a couple years back and my daughter played with it in the bath…I don’t think she swam on her own though….hope that helps!

OMG! My youngest child of six, Jillian just bought an Ariel Swimming Mermaid doll at Target for $10.19 yesterday. We found her with all of the pool toys. As soon as we got home she and Ariel took a tubby together. Very cute!
I have had so much fun over the years planning my kids parties. My oldest son is 19 now and Jillian is 5. I think we have covered every character over the years. We have also had birthday parties at different places like Leda Lanes Lighthouse (glow bowling in Nashua) and Build a Bear workshop in Manchester. I have so many fond memories of each of my children’s birthday parties.
My birthday is December 21st and my mom always went out of her way to make my day special. Having a birthday so close to Christmas, mom would not allow anyone to wrap my gifts in Christmas wrap and I was never given a “combined” gift. Of my six children, the only one who has a December birthday is my 9 year old daughter, Delanie. I usually have her birthday party in mid-November to ensure that her friends are able to make it and to not have it too close to Christmas.
My girls most favorite gifts have been their Bitty Babies, Bitty Twins and other American Girl Dolls. I gave Delanie my Molly american girl doll when she turned 8. Since then she has received Emily, Molly’s best friend and she still adores both. Jillian has Mia, the American girl doll of the year. She LOVES her!
My favorite birthday gift was my Molly doll. I always wanted her!!! My husband gave her to me the first year we were together, before we got married. He is the sweetest guy!!! Wish I had met him first…my four sons are from my first marriage. He is a better dad to them than their own father.

One of my favorite birthdays was the first one after I got married. My husband said that he would take me to Vegas. If that wasn’t great enough, while we were waiting for our room to be ready, we walked around and I hit my first royal flush ever on a video poker machine!

My favorite birthday as a child was my Cinderella party. My Mom made the coolest cake with a doll down the center and the cake was her dress! It was almost too pretty to eat!!! As an adult my 38th birthday (This past Feb.) was pretty special, my 15 year old son took me out to breakfast and to two movies for my birthday. It was a great day! Just that he wanted to spend his day with me at 15!

I don’t know if anyone else answered this…but I know Barbie at least used to have a Mermaid doll that could go in the water and everything. It wasn’t THAT long ago…I imagine they must still have something like that.
has gotten a doll just about every year (between mom and I we spoil her a bit…) since she was a little thing. She has…3 of the big dolls and 2 or 3 of the babies. Lol. ANYWAYS - they’re still perfect too (and she plays with them a LOT). I think they’re GREAT quality and really not a bad price. Anyways…lol…I don’t know what my best birthday gift was…there have been too many great ones. When I was younger it was probably the Cabbage Patch Doll I got from a friend one year. My 16th birthday my mom got my a pearl ring finally…I’d been asking for one for YEARS. 28th birthday mom got me a Dooney and Burke purse (drool). Hubby gave me a Precious Moments figurine this year that’s our “family”. Him and me on the couch, puppy on the floor, kitty on the couch. (We have another kitty so I say he’s hiding under the couch, lol).
Oh my gosh, birthday memories, of course, mine would have to do with food (no wonder I am pleasingly plump)–my Nana (the best in the world and how I miss her) would make me an angel food cake (from scratch with egg whites) and every year would tint the 7 minute frosting a different color. They were the best cakes. I can still see them and taste them in my memory. You made some cute cakes too. Love the card you made and I laughed about what all Amber wants for her birthday. My favorite birthday was when I was 42. My two youngest were two and four. My husband and I too them to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. The weather was perfect and the kids had a ball.

Nice pocket pouch, very cute stamps. The very best birthday present I have received was from my son a couple of years ago. He had just got his first job and knew I wanted a weeping cherry tree so he got one for me. It wasn’t just a little one either it was good sized and bloomed with the prettiest flowers this last spring. It made me cry. I just love birthdays. Anyone’s birthday. But my favorite thing about them is that I love to surprise people with a miniature birthday cake. They seem to totally enjoy it. I do the same for anniversaries. Older people love that they were thought of! So it makes me feel good.

We have a MyTwinn at our house. We bought it for our DD #2 for Christmas 2 years ago. She is 9 and LOVES her MyTwinn doll!! They are pretty expensive, but I would highly recommend one! It’s a doll that she can keep forever!!
Birthdays were never made to be a big deal at our house when we were growing up. The one birthday that sticks out in my head was my 10th birthday. My Mom finally let me have a slumber party & my Dad put up our tent in the backyard for us to sleep in. We had soo much fun!!! I can’t even tell you what I got that year. We had so much fun that the presents weren’t even that important!
Wow I wish I could bake! lol The most I could do is some cookies if I’m lucky! lol Those cakes are way too cute.. Hmm my fav. Bday was my 5th when my daddy fixed my room into a Big girl room and while the party going on he was finishing up I had gotten my hair in all curls and wore the most cutiest purple and white dress and when I went to my room there on my night tables where these 2 doll lamps that had the same color dress I had on but really elegant 40’s dresses and their hair were in curls like me and the lamp shades were their “hats” I LOVEEEDD them so much.. I was and am daddy’s little girl! LOL

Love the origami party pouch - too cute! My best birthday present was given to me on my 20th birthday. My husband-to-be arranged with my dad to have his gift of a bentwood rocker in the living room of my home so I could see it before I went off to college for the day! 32 years later, we still have the rocker!

Oh, I did one of those cakes once…for my oldest’s 3rd birthday! I was about to have baby #2 and wanted his birthday to be SO special…I did a clown cake, per Wilton directions, and it came out pretty well~~if you didn’t compare it to the picture!!!
I’d LOVE to win that set…I think the birthday as a child that I remember most was the year I got a banana bike from my Grandmother…I was So excited!!! Boy, did I have fun on that thing! And we had NO pavement, just dirt and gravels…still FUN! Oh, the good old days! ha (and that 3 year old is now THIRTY!!! EEEKKK!)

Lauren I have 2 boys, one is 8 and the other is 2, as the same as you I always try to do special things in their bdays, because I always celebrated my bday when I was a kid, my grandma used to say that we have to have a cake and sing happy bday each year because you don’t know if you’re going to be here next year, so I grow up with that idea, so my kids have 2 bdays singings, the bday day and the party day.
Talking about my bdays I remember my fifteen bday my grandma gave me jewerly, and that party was so special, here in Panama we celebrate the fifteen instead of the sweet sexteen that you celebrate in USA.
I can’t say that I have a favorite birthday present. I remember the parties I had, my mom always made a cake for me. I think some of my favorite birthday memories are with my kids. I really like to go all out for parties–all out as in I make things for it. One of my favorites was my son’s pirate party. I made invitations in a bottle and mailed them, we had eye patches, I stamped tatoos, drew moustaches made tons of little party favors. It was a good party.
I just love those little pouches! I made them for a baby shower favor. I haven’t found a favor that is easier to put together yet.
Actually, my best b’day was a couple of years ago when my husband forgot! Poor guy–he spent the next month making it up to me. Dinners out, special little gifts, vacation to Sadona, flowers…well, you get the picture. It was pretty cool actually! And boy, you can bet he’s right on top of birdays now!

I remember when I turned six we had my birthday party and my grandpa & grandmas apt and that was when I got my Cabbage Patch Kid that I had been wanting forever! Another fun birthday was when I turned 24, we had a party at my house with all my friends from my young adult group at church. It was luau themed and we packed 30+ people into my small living room. We had the windows open in the middle of November! What a great memory!

Let me start out by saying, yes, I do have a family of my own…3 kids, (all married), a husband, grandkids,(that I adore), but I think what sticks out in my mind as special, is my 40th birthday, MY brother and sister along with my dad, we all got together in one central place (we all live in different states and they have families of their own too) and celebrated! I would have to say when i was 9, i’ve been wanting this miniature piano and been asking my parents for one for my bday but growing up we really didn’t have a lot of money but wishing I get one. At the same time, i’ve been into playing with spiders (when you put 2 spiders on a bbq stick and watch them fight) i know how cruel but then again i was young and all my friends are boys. And the night before our bday (4 siblings) we get a chance to sleep with our parents and when we wake up in the morning our presents will be by our side or somewhere in the bed. I remember woking up in the middle of the night and knew that my dad got up and put something by my feet, I think I had a hard time going back to sleep that night but when i woke up I found a big glass jar with spiders on it (LOL, now!) I had to force myself to smile but wanting to cry when I was thanking them for my spiders, my mom remove the blanket and there it was….my very own miniature piano….BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!!!

My greatest b’day memory is when my husband gave me a surprise party. I was so totally surprised I almost passed out! He flew my 2 girl friends in from Massachusetts without my knowing and had a huge dinner. Very scary, very fun and a wonderful memory!
Oh, I forgot to tell you about the My Twinn dolls. They are nice dolls. I have heard mixed reviews about the likeness of the doll actually matching the child. If I remember right, they don’t actually make a doll specifically for the child, instead they pick what matches best from pre-made doll faces. One thing is that it is harder to find clothes for the My Twinn. American Girl doll are much easier. You can find clothes for them that people make, often at craft shows like my mother and I do. They are often more affordable than the clothes in the American Girl catalog. HTH

Anyway, my best birthday present has to be the laptop my husband gave me last year. It was my first year back to work (I’m a teacher) after being a SAHM for 6 years!! It was a GREAT present and I use it every day!!
Another one, the worst birthday I could mention was my daughter’s 5th birthday (for me, not her) because it was also her first day of KINDERGARTEN!!! I cried all day, but she was fine! The first day of school will be on her birthday again this year, but at least it’s not Kindergarten.
And…my second daughter is also 4 and sounds just like Amber (a TRUE princess). Anyway, she has a mermaid doll made to go in the bath and pool. It doesn’t “swim” but it floats. It has pink hair and a pink “fin.” If you want me to send you the info, email me and I’ll try to help you find one. She HAS to have one for her bday if possible!!
My best birthday was my 10th. I don’t remember what I got for presents, but I do remember all my family gathered around for cake and ice cream and feeling so grown up because I was a decade old! It’s such a milestone. My son just turned 10, and I had that same feeling, this time tinged with sadness because he is growing up so fast!

Favorite birthday memories…well I can tell you I look forward to my 2 babies celebrating each year so I can see the looks on their faces. I don’t want to see them get older but get so much enjoyment out of their enjoyment at their celebrations!
My favourite birthday is when I received a Royal Mounted Police Doll. I also share my birthday every year with my twin brother.
I looked at the link you had for the Twinn Dolls… wow… $140! Plus shipping… ewwww… it’s a great idea tho, and I’m sure she would have that doll FOREVER!! I think there is a Barbie though, that is a mermaid. I don’t think she actually SWIMS, but I don’t know that you will ever find one that actually does… she means not just putting her in the water right? It might be worthwhile to check out Walmart or Toys R Us to see if they still carry this… even though she doesn’t actually SWIM herself, there is a whole setup of it I think. Can you make her something Lilly? Something like a book or a whole comic strip or something? Cause she thinks Lilly is her right?
That wouldn’t be the same as a real doll but it’s a thought to go along with whatever you get her. I think the cakes you did are fabulous!!! My mom had a little cake book and she always made us special cakes. Butterflies, rocking horses, penguins, lions, elephants, etc. Those were the best. Now I buy my kids cakes every year but they always figure out what kind of cake they want and we build a theme out of it!
I think my favorite birthday was the year I got a telephoto lens for my birthday.. I wasn’t expecting it and wanted it in the worst way! I was totally shocked when I got it for my birthday. I remember through pictures mostly, birthdays I had when I was a kid. Things were so much simpler then and we were really happy with basically nothing - a coloring book and crayons!! (That’s when we were REALLY young tho!! LOL!!!)
You know, I remember a mermaid doll a couple years back that had a tail that moved. I’m not sure if it actually swims in the water though. You might want to check Ebay.
My favorite birthday was my 18th. My now husband spoiled me with a bunch of Veggie Tales movies and stuff, and then surprised me by asking me to marry him. He had an engagement ring, and all the Veggie Tales stuff was just to throw me off! I also remember my 7th or 8th birthday where I threw a fit because I won one of the games we played but I couldn’t get the prize since it was my birthday so my mom sent me to my room until I stopped crying! I also got a pound puppy that year and I loved it!
Your Birthday stories and cakes are too cute. I think the best memories I have of birthdays are seeing the joy on my children’s face at their parties. How fun! One of my favorite birthdays ever was when my parents threw me a surprise party when I was 13. My mom took me shopping at the mall and then we were supposed to go to Olive Garden for lunch. I REALLY wanted to buy a keychain at the mall, and my mom kept telling me I had to hurry up because it was time for lunch. I couldn’t understand why she was in such a hurry to eat lunch… turns out everyone was at OG waiting for us! Hahaha!

I’m a June baby so I remember a lot of pool parties with my friends. But I’d have to say my sweet 16 party was my memorable! I had about 7-8 of my closest girl friends over, we slept out in my Mom’s studio and stay up half the night talking about boys and school and everything in between! I even remember someone’s underwear and bra getting dunked and frozen in the freezer!!! TOO much fun!!!

I can’t really think of something in particular right now, but when I was child I wanted a “hamburger” cake, I have no idea I just seemed to be obsessed with anything food. So last year my mom had the same bakery make me a “hamburger” cake, it was a fun blast from the past!
I can’t really say I have any great birthday memories growing up with divorced parents and that is why I try to make my kid’s birthdays a special day for them. We celebrate the whole day, because your birthday only comes once a year and I always want them to have a day to remember. That for sharing an awesome stamp set.

I tend to remember people and events more than the birthday presents, and so it’s two of the occasions that really stand out in my mind. The first was for my 30th birthday when my friends gave me a surprise party and my parents drove 12 hours to be with me as well - the only time since I’ve been married that I celebrated my birthday with them there as well. The other most memorable birthday was 2 years ago for my 47th birthday. Four months earlier my 18 year old son was almost killed in a serious motor accident and we’d been told he would be in the Critical Care unit for at least 6 months with a broken back and severe brain damage. He as able to come out of hospital for the afternoon to spend my birthday celebration with me at my brother and sister in law’s home - in the city he was in hospital in, a twelve hour drive from my home. My dad had died a week after the accident, so it was really special that my son had a couple of ours out of hospital for my birthday.
You make cakes too!!! Wow, you are a creative wonder. The best birthday gift I’ve ever gotten was a tape recorder. Of course, I was only 9, but I am glad to this day that I had it. I have recordings of my family and cousins when no one else does. No one had a video camera, so I have the only record of our young days. It’s all thanks to my little tape recorder.
Wow this is such a cute set. Where do you find the time for everything you do? Mine was my 40th birthday and a trip to Disney on my birthday in December. I love having a birthday around the holidays so this was so special. My husband and I had dinner in the castle and they really did treat me like a princess. Nothing wrong with that. I remember my “mom” always making each birthday special - we always had several kids over for a slumber party or just to hang out. I remember one in particular - my mom fixed up several different items to taste as one of the games - we had to keep our eyes closed - such as mustard, raw eggs, cooked spaghetti, and different entities - all the girls had a blast but of course GROSS!!!

That set is adorable!! We just had my oldest son’s 4th birthday party this past weekend. It was a blast!! We had it at Pump It Up! which is this huge place full of bounce houses big enough for adults and kids to all jump in together. It was so much fun!!!!!

My best birthday was this year. I turned 35 and my girlfriends kidnapped me and took me out to lunch and shopping. Then when we got home they surprised me with a pizza party for all of our families. It was great.
Who wouldn’t want to win that lovely set :). My oldest is turning 4 in September and she is an enormous Dora fan too. She has just about all of the Mega Blocks sets but knows exactly which ones are missing for her next birthday :). I think she has enough already but I know she’s been talking to her grandparents about it so I’m sure she’ll have the complete collection by September :). My favourite present ever was my first ultrasound of my youngest daughter that was planned on my birthday November last year. She is four months old now but I can still remember the excitement in seeing her for the first time and hearing that little heart beat…. will never forget that birthday present :).
I remember getting a Easy Bake Oven and loving that thing. Even if my creations were barely edible.
For my 7th birthday, my grandma brought me on a helicopter ride! We got to fly over my house, my school, and the lake. It was so cool! Afterwards we went to a restaurant and I was treated to a kiddie cocktail. Good times…

Every request was met with a quick NO! But for my seventh birthday present my mom and my aunt took me shopping, just us, no younger brother or sister. We shopped and ate lunch and I felt so grown up. That part was great, but on they way home we stopped at the jewelry store and I got to get my ears pierced! My best birthday present was when I was turning 21 and my dad was in the hospital fighting cancer–he couldn’t leave so he got me a stuffed bear. I use to love stuffed animals when I was younger–but it was the best birthday present ever.

I had a party for my 40th birthday 4 years ago and I had warned all my family I wanted them to be there. As they all live in Vancouver and I live in Scotland they needed time to save. My youngest sister was the only one that managed to come…or so I thought. I’d invited 35 of my closest friends and my husband was thanking everyone for coming and said he had one more surprise for me and out walks my mom!!!! There wasn’t a dry eye in the place including the men! My husband rocked that night and made my 40th birthday the best I’d ever.
Love this new set–perfect for birthdays! My favorite birthday was my 13th–I got a new “pink” phone for my room! It was just the best—this is before they had cordless phones and my mom bought me the extra long cord so I could move around my room
Then I got tickets and backstage passes to see New Kids on The Block–I LOVED them so much and got kisses from the all–I almost fainted!! I’m going to their Reunion Concert this fall and guess who’s going w/ me…my mom–isn’t she the best!!

My mom used to make our birthday cakes every year too, they turned out really nice but BOY would she stress during it! My favorite birthday gift is probably one I received for my 21st birthday. I love gems, and one of my friends knew that. He went gem hunting in Montana over one break, and found some beautiful dark red garnets. He sent a few of them off to be cut and polished by a gem cutter, and then gave me one of them for my birthday. I think that’s my favoritest gift EVER, not just favorite birthday gift! Hope it gets sunny over there soon!
The best thing I remember about my birthday was the fact that mine was a day before my older sister. That was the only time I got to be first because she was the oldest and of course the boss of me. I think the pics of your themed cakes were awesome. I bet the kids loved them and that is what counts.
One of the best birthdays that I had was when my kids were small and I was feeling very tired of cleaning and cooking three meals a day, seven days a week. My husband overheard me saying that to my sister-in-law, so he arranged for three meals out. The first was breakfast with just the four of us. Next was lunch with extended family. Dinner was just the two of us. It was a great day and special because I knew our money was tight and he saved up for it.
I love this little girl and the little treat pocket. She is so cute. The best birthday I can remember is the year I turned fourteen. I had spent the night at my best friends house and her mom had made me italian wedding cookies as a special treat (my favorite). Then my mom came and picked me up and took me to get my picture taken at Glamour Shots. It was so much fun!
My favourite birthday is a toss up between the 14th birthday surprise party my family threw for me…my friends were so secretive for a whole week, running off together, ignoring me and whispering to each other…I couldn’t figure out why or what I had done for them to ignore me…turns out, they knew they had big mouths and if I was with them they would slip up and tell me about the party!!
My other favourite would be my 19th birthday…my best friend filled my bedroom completely full of balloons, over 200!…she forgot to take out my poor hamster first though!! when we finally managed to get into my room (we had to pop a few first), I spent an hour just laying on my bed swatting at balloons…she filled my car full of balloons too!! I loved it!
I have never worked with this stamp company before, my stamps are very limited due to the fact that I live in a small community with only 1 scrapbook/stamp store within an hours drive….it would be cool to win something!!

The first thing that popped into my head when I was thinking of my best birthday was the doll house I received on my 8th birthday. After that I started to remember a lot of different birthdays and a lot of fun things…but I loved that doll house!

Wow! Cute cakes. My father-in-law was a chef and he used to create awesome themed cakes for my husband when he was little. We’re celebrating our twin daughters birthdays next week and it would have been great if their grandfather were with us to celebrate. I’m sure he would have created something incredible. The best birthday when I was in 1st or 2nd grade and my mom threw a humongous birthday party for me…it was like being “Queen for the Day”.
Love your cakes. When my 2 girls were little, I used to make their birthday invitation and then have a friend (who was much better than me at decorating) make the cake to match. They were way cute!!! I love this little girl. She is so sweet.
My birthday was last week (7/31) My friends gave me an Etch-a-sketch. When I was about 9 y.o. I wanted one of these desperately but for some reason it never came. Over the years whenever I saw one I would tell whoever I was with how much I wanted one as a child. Well my friends hunted hi and low for and now after 40 years I HAVE AN ETCH A SKETCH ! Only great friends will buy you the silly presents and know how much you will love it.
For my 14th b-day I got the “Top Gun” video with Tom Cruise. I think that was back in 1986, ya know when videos cost a fortune. I only had 2 movies in my collection!

I am not sure I can really anwser this question. I don’t really remember any really great bd’s growing up. I can tell you this past year my dh helped me get an ipod. That I just love! My fav gifts are the kind my kids paint for me. I buy canvas and let them go to town, they are the best ever!

My husband was deployed overseas, and we were going through a rough spot in our marriage. I was pretty bummed about turning 30. The day of my birthday I received a card in the mail from him - he had written the kindest words I have ever heard - telling me how much our marriage meant to him. My sister got my niece a My Twinn doll and it does really resemble her. The first one didn’t, but she was able to return it and they tried again. She was pleased. Just FYI.
My favorite birthday gift. We didn’t have a lot of money, so birthdays were usually small. But, we did get to have big parties for our milestone birthdays (5, 10, 13, 16, 18) I remember my mom putting together a super fun scavenger hunt for my 16th birthday. I made the mistake of telling my sister i had never been surprised before my 17th birthday. I worked at a nursing home for the summer, imagine my surprise when a pink gorilla came with a dozen balloons and a couple bananas to deliver a singing telegram. I thought for sure i would be fired, but my sister had of course ok’d it before had with the management. The residents loved it. kim
Hi Lauren! Thanks for the chance to win. I am fairly new to your site but, I love what I have been seeing. My favorite birthday was when my husband had thrown me a surprise birthday party. I think I was 30??? Anyhoo, he said he wanted to take me out to dinner and a friend was going to watch our two kiddos. Well, I didn’t want to go because our daughter wasn’t feeling well and I didn’t want to leave her. He assured me she would be ok and that the friend promised she would call if she needed us. Well, when we got to her house to drop of the kids, a bunch of my friends were there for the party. I was VERY surprised. I hadn’t had a clue he was planning anything.

super fun! I will have to say my hubby is horrible about birthdays. he forget them. never gets me anything (not even a cake or a card) well this year he threw me a big party and got me a cake for every year that he missed!!! I had cake EVERYWHERE. it was very fun not to mention funny!

I think my favorite was when my mom surprised me with a pair of squash heels (shoes) for my 10th birthday. They were all the rage & I thought I was so grown up. Wow I haven’t thought about that in years but that was the first thing that popped into my head that made me happy on my birthday.

My favorite birthday was when I turned sweet 16. I had a huge party including both boys and girls. It was awesome.

One of my favorite birthdays was my nieces’ 5th birthday 2 years ago. We had a tea party and the kids ate on real china and drank from china tea cups. They all dressed up and wore hats. This is such a darling set, I hope I win it:)

Gee…I am not crazy about birthdays anymore:) so it would probably be my 19th birthday. My parents gave me enough money to take my best friend and our boyfriends to a fabulous restaurant and we had so much fun. I was more into having a good time than getting gifts, although I got plenty of those too. I remember that my best friend gave me an autographed book that John Lennon wrote. I could have made a lot of money selling it on ebay when I ran across it last year, but instead I gave it to my niece for her graduation. (she is also a huge Beatle fan, but wasn’t around during their hey-day so she enjoys the stories I’ve shared with her about them).
My favorite B-Day was the year that I brought my newborn son home from the hospital. He was born on Oct 5th, and I brought him home on my B-Day Oct 7th. That was my best Birthday ever!!! He’ll always be my baby!
My 26th birthday because I got married that day. So, my most favorite present is my wonderful DH!!
First, the trick to successful mommy baking is cupcakes. It’s much easier to decorate something little than it is something big!
And second, dh’s nephew has a twin doll and it is seriously CREE.PEE. Scary, scary stuff! Think Chucky scary. Yeah, that bad.

One year I received a car for my birthday. A brand new Nissan Altima. Of course I did pick it out, but I still think it was from my hubby.
My best birthday gift was a Coach Bag I got from my boyfriend. It was one I wanted for a very long time and he kept saying it was too much money. He ended up surprising me with it, along with a few other things to go inside. I was in love and still am with my bag!

I think one of my best gifts was when I was young & my grandma got me exactly what I asked for … a loaf of homemade bread and a jar of homemade strawberry jam to have all for myself … thanks for the chance to win.

I LOVE birthdays. I claim the entire month as MY day! My personal favorite birthday was either when I was 14 and my parents did a total ME night, no other siblings around! LOL! Or when I was 16 and my mom threw a surprise party for me. That was exciting. My favorite birthday to plan was my husband’s surprise party for his 25th birthday. That was awesome!
After having a premature child at 7 months that had to hospitalized for 41 days, my daughter and her friend planned a surprise birthday party for me on my 33rd birthday. They pulled it off completely without my knowledge, I was totally shocked. It’s the only party I have ever had.. love the new sets and chance to win..

Thanks for offering the set — seeing your fire engine cake reminds me of my favorite birthday. My fourth birthday — we had just moved into an apartment across the street from a fire department. Back then, the fireman stayed at the firehouse all day. Since we just moved in we didn’t know any kids or have any family in the area. My mom got the idea to make a cake and take it over to the fire department and see if the fireman would celebrate with us. They did!! They also gave us a tour of all the trucks and loved the cake. I think it was also my favorite because my mom didn’t care what those fireman would think of her — she just wanted me to be happy. It was my best birthday.
On my 19th birthday, my huband (boyfriend at the time), gave me an engagement ring. That was my best and most memorable birthday gift. Thanks so much for the chance to win & always for the inspiration Lauren!

Hello, Hello, Hello! I love your cakes:) I just threw a baby shower for my sister-in-law and had my first run at decorating a cake. It was actually a lot of fun, but WOW a lot of work! I tried to make the bird house cake one year and now that was a disaster. You can take a favorite photo and they put it on the cake for you…love modern technology.
