stamping…..stamping………..just keep stamping (till your fingers fall off). This has been sung to the tune of Finding Nemo.
I have done more stamping in the last few days than I ever have. INSANE! I whipped out more projects than I ever thought possible. My husband is in shock at my projects ๐ SOย You know they must be good! LOL!!! He just said “I cannot believe you did it.” then I said ”ย ME EITHER! ” Well sort of. Once I set my mind to it, there is no stopping me. OK now I need to stop blabbering.
So I got a delivery today!ย So Iย made this little card
I HARDLY got to play with this set Recipes, but am so in love with the images. Very different than most of what I own, and I love that. I am really liking getting out of the “comfort” zone.
ย The girl was made to look like a vintage postcard image (kind of).I stamped the canisters in sweet blush (my all time favorite pink-ever!! I just got the huge pack of it from Papertrey Ink LOVE IT! Oh and the chocolate-yum!)
This is sort of a shabby/clean card! LOL! I dirtied it up a little bit. Not too over the top. LOVE that Basic Grey paper.
This reminds me of my mom. She is always cooking and baking. A trait my husband wishes I inherited (hehehe). I HATE to cook. Don’t get me wrong I CAN cook, I just despise it. I’d rather do take out in a heart beat.
If you don’t know I ADORE 1950’s images. Not sure why, I just do. I’m drawn to the whole era. Not the women stay home, and have to be like Donna Reed (hair done, dress on, cooking and cleaning all day) Just the colors and style of things. I love the women images. The whole retro sort of thing.
When we were in Maine we went to an Antique shop and I found the prettiest vintage tissue paper! OMG! It was a woman and man on it, and a birthday greeting. Similar style to this stamp. The woman at the store almost fell over when I told her I planned on actually using it! So I hope to do that sometime soon ๐
Anyway just a fun card to share today. I need to go play with my new goodies, before taking the kids to the dentist and swim lessons tonight.
Thanks for checking in here.
PS-I’d LOVE to hear some images that you are drawn to ๐ Like a style or era. OR like me any flowers, butterflies & penguins!
Till tomorrow

What a cool image Lauren! That DP and layout is perfect too!
I’m drawn to snowman, collect them but since it isn’t winter, I’m into cupcakes right now…better to stamp them ๐ even though my hips SCREAM for them!
Hey Lauren! Daily check in! I am a nutball for giraffes and flowers and swirls! Great card! Love the colors!
Love the card! Retro images are so cool! I guess I’m most drawn to creatures. I have the hardest time resisting dragon, dinos and robots. That was too funny for quite some time as I just had one little girl. Now that I’ve got a boy, I can justify my purchases. ๐

I love penguins too! My new favorite are the little Asian and Hawaiian kids from Mari and Me.
I love the 50’s and 60’s probably because i was born in 56 and i grew up in that era. I have alot of dishes and cookware silver and milk glass. I love anything vintage I even have my grandmothers formica table and chairs set that we ate on as kids. Very old and very well used. Times were so simple then hardly any worries fro kids we played outside to dark never had to worry if some one was going to get you. Mom just yelled and we came home. I have lots of wonderful memories from that time period. Susan
I am amazed at your versatility, you can go from cutesy to totally retro and they all look fabulous! I’m a daily stalker of your blog! Thank you so much for posting, it is all so inspiring!
I’m just drawn to cute and funny images. I can not do victorian collage artsy stuff. I’ve tried and hated every thing I’ve done like that. I think you’ve done a good job with this card, but I love your cute stuff best!
Love the 50s images: colors, styles, etc. It was before my time too and my family would have starved if they relied on home cookin’ for their meals, but nevertheless, the whole look of the 50s is so charming I love to reproduce it. My other favorite is the 20s. I love Art Deco, the fashions of hollywood, and bold colors.
Your card is just adorable. That would clearly be my sweet mom cooking up a storm.
Adore this! I’m a retro 50’s kind of gal myself. I think I was misplaced in my era! I love the hominess and the vampiness and everything about it! It was a poorish era and people just valued different things then. Gosh, and I love this set! Gonna have to pick it up. And Magnolias and Bellas! Those are my stamping styles and things I’m drawn to. Thanks for asking and this is a side of you I never would have guessed! I like it!
Awesome Lauren! I love this card and these type of images too. I just don’t know what to do with them.
I have been a lurker for quite some time and am AMAZED at what you can do and have a family too! I’m usually into quiet, peaceful scenes cause the rest of the world is so hectic. Thanks for sharing your talent & life ๐
OMGOSH Lauren…..you’ve gone and done it again!!! I have never heard of Purple Turtle….I’m in trouble, I just got thru checking it out and I think I’m gonna be several $ poorer by the end of the day. LOL
Once again….you’ve hit a home run! :~)
Pam
Hey girlie! Super cute card today – can’t wait to see what else you’ve got up those creative little sleeves of yours!
What images am I drawn to?? Um, whatever you post here! ๐ Seriously though…My taste varies…I don’t know that there’s any specific style I am drawn to…though I am in love with the 40’s 50’s and early 60’s…my Mom always tells me I was born in the wrong decade…Seems things were more romantic, and just plain FUN back then…even with air raid drills, and vaccination drives, etc…
My Mom and I went to see ‘Cry-Baby’ the Musical, and it was HYSTERICAL, kind of made fun of the era, but seems a lot simpler than now…KWIM?
K – I’ll stop blathering now… *smooches*
Hi Lauren!
Absolutely cracked over your “opening” – Just keep stamping……
We *just* saw Nemo (Joey and I) a couple of weeks ago and that was probably one of my favorite scenes.
Love your card – you always do such lovely work. I would love to be a fly on the wall and watch you stamp. ๐
I’m with Tracey – I don’t think I have a favorite style – it varies.
Gotta run – we need to catch up one of these days, you know. Love ya!
Hugs,
Renee
Hehehe — I have a small retro set that is retired from SU and I have yet to ink it — but I wanna! Your card reminds me of it. My DH is without work for a while, and I am ready to get to work on some stamping while he helps with the kids ;^)*
Can’t wait to see all those things you are working on, Lauren — you are such an inspiration to me!
Hey, cool card. Very nice colors. Cant wait to see what else you have cooking (pun intended, kind of ๐ ). If your DH was impressed Im sure you will have our jaws falling to the floor. Later. I have to get this darn patio finished so that I can get back to stamping. AAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!! -Molly B
This is absolutely gorgeous! I found that the more I do, the more I’m inspired, but I don’ t know how you can top what you’ve already done! LOVE this card, and that era … seems like things were a lot simpler back then, and it’s reflected in this card…
Wow Lauren! You make that set look cool!Lol!Anyways, I love butterflies, and I just got the SU, ink and more set that you *made* me buy because it looked so fab w/ that glitter stuff:) What was it called? Anyways, I love all nature, its what I do best! I would love to be able to do masculine and boy cards better. I have 3 girls and 1 boy, so I do more girly stuff. Ok, I am done rambling. If you can stop stamping long enough, heres my blog http://www.kristisinkspot.typepad.com I will be posting awesome pics of butterflies, I thought you might like them. Ok, I am done!Kris
Beautiful retro feel Lauren. Have you ever watched Mad Men on AMC?? You would love it. I am addicted to that show, and they just started Season 2! Can’t wait to see your projects! Chris
I luv this card Lauren, it has that vintage look! I just ordered some PTI CS & 2 of the co-ordinating ink pads, I can’t wait to get them. The colors look so awesome!
Hello. I am drawn to anything 80’s. I wish there were stamps out there that represented that era.
Heidi Abel
i love this, lauren! i don’t know if i’m drawn to any particular style. I just know what i DON’T like!! is that bad? btw, my cell phone ring tone is Dory singing, “Just keep swimming. just keep swimming, just keep swimming swimming swimming. what do we do we swim swim swim!!!!” Nemo is only my favoritest movie ever!!!
Hi Lauren,
My favorite sets are flowwer sets, Especially roses.
But I’m also just starting to get into the cupcake thing now.
Also, I have been getting into the pink and black color combo alot lately.
Before I read your post…this stamp reminded me of my mom and grandmother. They use to look like this. I have a picture on my desk of my mom looking the exact same way.
Oh, I love the 50’s/60’s for the stay at home mom look. Maybe not always dressed up, but that is how people actually looked back then. My grandmother/mother were always dressed up. Specially my grandmother. Apron and all!
I also love vintage images. I am making small tags right now with pattern images from the 1950’s. They were my friend’s mom’s. Some have little girls jump roping, some with women. Just charming.
Ooo, I like this card (among many other projects of yours, lol)! I like how you stamped the jars in the background; a great subtle touch to fill that space. The color scheme is nice too. I like how you aged the image and I like the dangly–(is this a word?, lol) charm with the message.
Cool card….I am with you, can cook…don’t like to cook. I seem to be drawn to flowers, butterflies, dragonflies, birds and bird houses. I guess nature type things ๐
