Pink Cat Peeks

Jun 11, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Uncategorized

WHOAH!! Do I have an insane next few days!!

I have……………..

* a summer program meeting tonight

*gotta meet up with Michelle to get my class supplies

* end of year teacher gifts to get done BY FRIDAY,

* my next month’s class projects to complete (also by Friday-that may have to wait)

*I have SEVERAL releases to wrap up

*and classes to prep for

* Amber has a mini graduation the end of the week

* and ice cream party

*My actual class is Friday

*and I have a Spa day Saturday -which I was going to cancel since its Father’s Day weekend but Jay is doing house projects so he said  I should just go.

*That morning before I go Noah has a t-ball game.

*Then Its Father’s Day. I need to get Jay a gift (nothing he even wants-How can that be possible?! MEN!!) I haven’t even come close to getting what I want done for that.

*I have a kids project to do for that and pray to God for about 12 more hours in a day this week.

* That doesn’t include LIFE stuff we all do like-meals, baths, homework with kids, housekeeping, kids killing each other, and whatever else I forgot. Some of what I have to do I can’t even share here yet! LOL!

WHEW!!!

I’m wishing I didn’t lay it all out like that cause it sounds impossible. Very discouraging. Anyone seen my cape anywhere?

Anyway. The end of the year really crept up on me. YIKES! Im sure it will all work out somehow. Won’t it? LOL! 😀

Im not complaining Im just thinking out in type. I live for insanity. Keeps me going.

I have more Pink Cat Peeks for you all today!! Let’s get on a happy note now.

First up-Dad is #1

dad-scores-1.jpg

Baseball Billy is adorable!! I was going to make him like a Boston Red Sox player but Im so not into sports and wanted more color. I think our players are white, with trim in blue & red. Anyway-I drew in the stripes with a white singlo get pen.

As always-Billy is colored with my Copic markers. I stamped/colored/cut the bat/ball/& glove. Love that. The mound is the clear ovals set from A Muse.

This is one of the cards I made for Noah to give to Jay. Isn’t it a cute Father’s Day card! The side panel is suppose to be like a score board. I used PTI’s Simple Alphabet for that creation of words. I LOVED the pierced arrow pointing to the score. The top needed “something” and that was perfect.

The grid is paper by Scenic Route. The star pattern is Polar Bear Press. Ribbon is by Strano (love their stuff-link on sidebar).

Now we have another a Q.T. Hooty card 😀

owl-miss-you.jpg

Waving Bye!

How cute is that owl? I didn’t want her to be brown like you all expect. I wanted her to be blue-because she is sad. There she is waving bye!

I cut her out with my scallop square nestabilties, and before taking her out of the die, sponged inside. I think she looks cute.

I so love this swatch of paper you see peeking from the bkgd (I need to look up who makes it :C) I wanted to replicate that pattern, so I inked up my CB folder in Floral Fantasy, with chocolate ink, and loved the results. I can’t recall the exact name of the technique but you get the idea.

Next up………….Last but not least-I like to call this on Choo Choo Conductor

choo-choo-conductor.jpg

Billy can be ANYONE he wants to be 😀

I used some punches to create railroad tracks. Then  the little train chugs along. All you out there with Thomas the Train addicts will go insane for this one! He had to have a collection of trains, so I made a few. I need a good sentiment now!! I’d stamp it in that lower left corner. Ill wait to personalize this card with the child’s name. I know as a kid I loved ANYTHING with my name on it. Especially now a days. A lot of kids have different spellings or odder more uncommon names.

Remember that you can PERSONALIZE your Dress Up Billy & Lily stamps!! That is a way cool option. AND as Melissa posted, she created the sets so that the accessories for Billy & Lily can be used together! LOVE THAT!!!

So last but not least check out the Pink Cat blog-HERE! you can see all the DT samples and enter the contest!

Im on the run.

Thank you for checking in here. I’d love to hear what YOU have going on 😀 Make me feel better.

Till tomorrow.

Keeping you in the KNOW!

I also wanted to remind you to take a peek at Nichole’s Blog. The new release peeks have begun! She links a senior DT member daily for an additional sample-so dont miss that either. Check her out HERE!

Also ATS is having a nice sale 😀 Check it out

And I was VERY excited to get this recognition for my very first scrap page using Unity Stamps-Beautiful Butterfly!! I did find a 3D collage frame so I can hang it up! No I am not making a scrapbook!  It was 40% off at Michaels today! YEAH!

OK Gotta run. I HOPE I didn’t forget anything.

Billy has a sleepover!

Jun 10, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Home decor/3-D items

Before I start todays post RUN to Michaels! LOL! (but save enough money to buy Q.T. Hooty and Dress Up Billy first! LOL!) They have all their punches 40% off!! They got in a ton of new ones!! Even the treading Water one I use over and over!! AND the all the other new Fiskars border punches and Crop-a-dile BIG BITE, which I got to use a 50% OFF coupon on!! Happy Dancin!! WOW! I need to take a breath.

Well Dress Up Billy is almost here!! let me tell you, you are going to LOVE him!!! *LOVE* Only 2 more days to go!! Then you can buy him HERE

Im squealing with delight over here on this project.

I am suppose to post 2 Billy projects but this one deserves its own, don’t you think?

My kids are getting to the age where they want to have a sleepover. I am paranoid so would be happy to let a little friend come over HERE, but most likely not let my kids go THERE. I know I’m probably over-protective but I have all I can do to let my oldest Alexa sleep over her Father’s house, let alone my kids go to a complete strangers! Anyway, the questioning lead to the idea of HOW to invite someone over for a sleepover, and then I saw Billy!! It was perfect!

I love the PJs he can be put in and HAD to use them immediately. I thought to myself……How cute would a sleepover survival kit be? Send it along with the invite!! I know would go! LOL!

So here it is

billy-sleep-over-survival-kit.jpg

Dress Up Billy-Sleepover Survival Kit

With the kit you give a stamped Pillow Case. (Note: I used my stamp-a-ma-jig and stamped just the PJ’s first, then JUST Billy’s head, onto the PJ’s). I saw decorate your own pillow cases in the store for $10!!! My pillow case came courtesy of Walmart of a whopping $1.99!!!

You also get my super cute Sleep Over Kit box that I designed using aceate and my Scor-Pal (yes you really need one!! They are also sold at The Paper Tree). I just used a Prima Paint can handle for my handle, which I attached to the kit using the large eyelets from SU!!

Now, inside the kit you will find an altered crayon box to color the pillowcase for a fun activity. See Directions HERE You may also see some PEZ Candy and a dispenser. Oh and we can’t forget the flashlight.

See inside??? The additions you can make are just endless.

sleep-over-front.jpg

I could have added more but of course, none of my ideas were available to me. But I did create this poem for the kit!!

sleepover-tag.jpg

Just printed off on my computer using the Giddyup font.

Please note this is Poem is written/created by me, and can only be for personal use. No submissions/paid publications- PLEASE & thank you.

Now if you want a closer view of the top 😀

billy-choice-box-top.jpg

I paper pieced his little Jammies, and stamped the sock monkey face onto them.

I rolled up some wide American Crafts Grosgrain ribbon for the sleeping bag!! I personally loved that little touch! LOL!

Well that is it for now. I have much to do, and share later.

Don’t forget to check the other Pink Cat designers for more samples!  Also check out the contest HERE!

Later!

WHOOOOO has a sneak peek?

Jun 9, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

I DO! I DO!!

Hope you al enjoyed the weekend. Jay did house projects, since the bank stuff looks really good-and we may get to out our house up and afford the new house we want 😀 I stamped (which I rarely do on weekends), the kids danced in the rain-after a HOT day, it was such a cool thing to sit back and watch-got me sort of teary.  Then we hit an awesome deal at a yard sale!!

NOTE: If you have emailed me with a non stamp purchase, and have not heard from me-PLEASE just re-email me! I most likely forgot you in the shuffle. I do read all my emails, but often can’t respond right away. Each one is important 😀 So don’t think I ignored you. Thanks for your patience.

OK I know you didn’t come here to hear all that so here we go.

I am so excited for all the releases coming out. Really amazing stuff.

This next set is another MUST HAVE.

I am so into Owls right now (aren’t we all???) that its insane.

Im really excited to share this next  owl image-with the NEW! Q.T. Hooty from Pink Cat Studio. This set will release on the 12th.

This particular image is particularly exciting for me because it was part of my input to the set!!! That is part of the fun of some DT’s. With this set all the DT contributed some great ideas that made it into one awesome owl set, thanks to Melissa’s ROCKIN skills.

I also LOVE that this set has some supah cute sentiments 😀 Always a plus.

Hooope you feel better-tea holder

hooope-youre-better.jpg

I decided it make a cute little tea bag holder-going with the Hooope you feel better theme. I mean really, why send just a card??? Make it a little pkg instead. Tea always helps those yucky colds.

Inside you can fit 6 tea bags. 3 in each one of the small glassine bags. This one has Chamomile tea. I thought it was so cute.

The owl was colored, then flocked 😀 The paper & branch are from Crate Paper- The Blue Hill collection (hello love it!) The die cut was perfect.

OH MELISSA…………………Are you reading?? You need a branch set for all your lovely owls!!! (hehehe) One that can double as just a pretty branch 😀

Side view             Lift  flap                 Open to reveal 2 tea bag holders

tea-holder-sick-owl.jpg        tea-holder-flap-open.jpg        tea-holder-open.jpg

Ah next up we have another cute owl 😀

hoot-hoot-28.jpg

Hoot Hoot Hooray! 28

How cute right?? I wanted this one peeking out from the tag. I loved the lay out.

I used Basic Grey-Cupcake collection for this, and the number are my Red Tag alpha. Now if you are going to ever get just ONE alphabet for your Cuttlebug (and if you don’t own a cuttlebug yet WHY NOT???!!!) THAT alpha is my most used, and most favorite!! EVER!!

This card is for my brother’s 28th Birthday. I think its a cute guy card. He loves getting my cards (or so he says). I doubt he keeps them, which is fine. My mom made him an amazing huge photo frame with a collage of ORIGINAL photos of her and him, my dad as a child-really sentimental stuff-obviously only to my mother, because my brother left it behind at one of the random places he decided to crash at. Now he can’t get it back. My poor mom’s heart is just broken. You can’t replace that stuff you know! This is before digital cameras!!!  So the thought he MAY keep this card is a bit of a reach! LOL!

I still have dolls I played with as a child in MINT condition-original clothing. They were like my real babies to me as a girl. UGH! Anyway. I’m amazed how how different we are sometimes.

WOW! Was that ever random. EEKK! I better drink more coffee! LOL!

Now its time for a contest!!!

Fun Kids Project for ALL ages.

Jun 8, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Home decor/3-D items, Uncategorized

Happy Sunday.

I feel so much better. I got everyone’s order’s straight and out the door yesterday. I was at the PO for an hour, and it cost almost $300 to ship everything! WOW!!!!!

I still have a couple that needed last minute stuff, so they will ship tomorrow. If you paid by check, once it arrives, I will send off your package.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for clearing out my stuff!! I really appreciate you all taking this space suckers off my hands, and that they are going to a new home where they will feel the ink against their rubbah again! LOL!

If people don’t follow through with their purchases I will make it avail. to the first person who inquired about it, or if no one was interested I’ll re-list it.

Now onto FUN stuff.

Summer is here, in full effect! So far its a humid 97 degrees.

My kids will be on Summer vacation soon, and I go into PANIC mode!! They get VERY bored. So I am always on the hunt for fun projects to do to keep them happy on the days we won’t be going anywhere.

Today’s project is SOOOO SIMPLE and fun. Think b-day party project! The best parties have fun activities. I love doing crafts at my kids parties. Plus it shows the hubster how much you really need to buy your stamps-and that they are SOOOOO versatile!

Now with summer around the corner, how fun would it be to let your kids make their very own beach bag, to lug all their own stuff! Like swimsuits, sunscreen, sunglasses, drink & snacks? (You take the towels, and change of clothes)

This little thing alone (like packing their own bag) does several things-beside creates one day where they won’t climb up the walls in boredom:

1. Is less work for mom (sometimes)

2. Gives them some responsibility

3. Makes them more independent

4. MAY help take their mind off asking you repetitively “How many more minutes till we leave?”

 crayola-tote.jpg

Tote-ally Cool Bag-found at Michaels for only $1.49!! They have various sizes, very CHEAP!!! This is the perfect size for kids 3 and up to get to work!

Stamps-Lizzie Anne Le Jardin, sentiment from A Muse

Ink-Pallette Black, Pallette ink Chartreuse

Other-Crayola Crayons, wax paper, Heidi Swapp iron

PLEASE NOTE: Use more vibrant colors as they give the best results. COlors fade slightly after washing.

NOTE: Use what ever image your child wants. For the actual beach bag see THIS set-can you say PERFECT?!!!!

OK so-All YOU do is stamp the image.

Then let your child color it in with Crayola crayons .

Apply wax paper over finished coloring, and heat set with HOT iron for a few minutes.

DONE!! The bag shown above was colored by ME, and photo taken AFTER 2 washes (gotta test stuff before you say it works!!!)

Where did that fabulous idea come from? Well let me share this with you. As a SAHM I try to do a fun project of some sort with my kids everyday!! This is how I get stamp time AFTER!! Guilt free too. I am always on the hunt for fun, easy & cool things to do. This book is the PERFECT find.

I bought this book called Kids Concoctions “Special 10th Anniversary Edition” by John E. & Danita Thomas. Now the book I linked isn’t the exact one I purchased, but from the same people. The one I bought was a special on like QVC at Christmas time. The BEST purchase I could have made.

It is FULL of awesome kid projects and things to make that are SO easy (keep in mind my kids ages range from 3 to 8) and fun. Most importantly use household items you already have. WOW! Do I sound like an info-mercial or what. Sorry about that, but I really love this book for Mom’s or baby sitters. Day care providers would love it (OH!! Light goes off!! Im getting one for Amber’s end of year teacher gift!!! Pat self on back later)

Now for another project!!

Coloring DIRECTLY onto a T-Shirt!! Yes another Father’s Day t-shirt idea.

billy-t.jpg

I made this for my son Noah & my husband! They have matching shirts!! I know a lot of you bought the Billy set from Pink Cat Studio. Perfect kids project to let them color the dad’s t-shirt!

Same directions as above. Just place cardboard under the shirt to make it easier for the kids to color.

That sentiment is from Out of This World, and was so perfect too.

Use whatever stamp sets you want.

Think how many gifts you can get out of a pack of t-shirts that cost like $5!!

OK that is my idea for the day.

Now Im back to stamp land. I have lots to create 😀 I don’t usually stamp on weekend’s but have some loose ends that need to be tied.

Till tomorrow.

PS If you make any tee’s  send us a link!

Sat Sketch Time-inspiratation

Jun 6, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch, Uncategorized

“The journey of a 1,000 miles begins with a single step”

a-journey-of-1000-miles.jpg

This is the photo I took of Alexa the LAST day of her Chemo treatment. To mark a milestone. The end of a long journey for her. A new beginning.

This is for Alexa’s doctor’s. A thank you. For walking that long road with us.

THAT saying on this card is my newest motto. It puts everything we go through in this life into prospective.

WARNING: This gets deep! LOL! At least to me. Even if no one gets it, I do.

The weirdest thing happened to me. I so believe in fate, and God providing answers in unusual ways, or providing us with answers and things we seek.

The very last day of Alexa’s chemo treatment, I was a wreck!!! During that visit, I was on a wild goose chase for some much promised Groovy Girls. Upon my hunt, I saw a silver bangle in the jewelry case of the store, out of the corner of my eye. I went over to look at (I never get that interested in that stuff), and the silver bangle read……

“The journey of a 1,000 miles”

I asked to see it.

Now I had JUST posted about what a long road it has been, and all we learned along the way, and blah blah blah. I looked inside and it read “begins with a single step”

Now you may think- SO?

But to me that was so pivotal! I was standing there, Alexa’s LAST chemo, and already worrying about the WHAT Ifs, and then, this simple bracelet put it all into perspective for me. Like a silent voice from God, reminding me-Lauren ONE step at a time. I felt so at peace. Tomorrow will take care of itself. We got through this journey that way, and we will continue through life the same.

Just like Footprints in the sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
                             when I was suffering from
                         anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
      “You promised me Lord,
         that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
                                 there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?”

                                 The Lord replied,
                          “The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
          is when I carried you.”

So, that left me sitting there, really wanting the bracelet as a reminder to take life step by step. I thought it would be perfect to keep next to my Alexa bracelet that I have worn since the day she was diagnosed. Sort of a “we can do this”. But, it was pretty pricey for a simple bangle. So I walked away.

Then, later that day, I go to another store, hunting for those darn Groovy Girls, and in the store window-just before the store I am there to go to, THERE IT IS!!! That SAME bracelet! I wasn’t even looking for it. It just popped right out at me.

Mind you -the store in the hospital, and the store in Concord NH are like 75 miles apart! I thought WOW! What a message someone is sending me! LOL! But I left it again. Remembering the message I was given.

Then, the next day my dear sweet friend Paulette went and found that bracelet!! She gave it to me, and I was just in awe. She is so good to me. I am blessed to have a friend like her.

I have not taken that bracelet off since. I am reminded several times a day to take it one step at a time!

WHEW! Are you still with me? Weren’t expecting all that now were you?

I just wanted to share too, what an impact a photo can have on a card. I also like that it shows the A Man’s Sole, isn’t just a guy set.

My sentiment was printed off my computer. Paper is Autumn Leaves. The flowers are Queen & Co, and SU felt flowers.

This card is 5 1/2 squared.

So here is a view of the sketch-click to enlarge

sketch-52.JPG

You don’t have to use a photo. Just have fun with it. The possibilities are endless. It could be a scrap page. Those wanting to see more of that.

If you get to try it out, send us a link here so we can all see your take!
