Huston we are set for take off

May 21, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Uncategorized

OK! The Mag. Citrate has kicked in, and we had more white poop-that progressed into pale yellow, then like a tan poop.

I know- Im grossing you out. But I can’t help but share my finding.

I know you most likely can’t imagine why Im sitting here typing this but I can’t help but share the good, bad and all the in between.

I ended up calling the doctor back to make sure that pale yellowish tan was an OK sign and its a YES! We still have to be wary of any fever though. So lets keep up faith that we are good to go. No fever and more normal poop is a very good thing. She looks good. No real appetite-not shocking.

So its possible her 2 week bug really slowed stuff down in an already slow system. Making her gall bladder a bit lazy and uninspired to do its job. Looks like its back to work for the gallbladder. I would say if this happens to you or your child to still call your doctor immediately because none of this is really normal and can be dangerous if you wait or ignore it.

We aren’t out of the woods yet, but this is very hopeful. Time will tell. That and of course MORE poop. The kid has only gone once! Yeah-I know! I told you she holds it all in pretty well. She is a pro.

I packed stuff up for tomorrow-with 2 changes of clothes for Alexa-JUST IN CASE :C Im hoping if anything she just gets up in the middle of the night and gets it out of her system.

If there is anything I can say for my life it is always FAR from boring. ALWAYS.

Maybe some day this will all be funny-but Im thinking not. Im not gray yet, but am sure Alexa has aged me a good decade or two since birth.

Here to faith for a good night. All I know is tomorrow I am going to need a feeding tube of coffee to keep me going! LOL!

The the games begin!

May 21, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: About Me

The waiting game that is.

So we saw the doctor. I love our pediatrician and her “normal” oncologist. Its weird they aren’t handling this. Im now “cut off” since Cancer is no longer the primary issue. Anyway-

Here is the “plan”

Alexa has to drink 7 oz. of Citrate of Magnesium. We need to clean out her bowels. The purpose of this is HOPEFULLY during the “cleansing” we start to see COLORED poop. It is possible that during her virus, the gut didn’t squeeze enough to activate the gall bladder to work on the  poop-leaving a “usually” small portion of poop un-colored. Since she has a bajillion other issues that lead to constipation it is supposedly likely

Another reason for the clean-out-if we DONT see colored poop-its all white we are in a load of CRAP, and I don’t mean just literally!

We will then do a ultra-sound of the gall bladder and liver (another reason for the clean out-makes results easier to see and more accurate). IF there is something unusual after that we have to resort to a CAT SCAN.

Now in the middle of all this if ANY fever results ER here we come.

Oh and BAD abdominal pain. She will have cramping but it has to be pretty bad.

So I have spent the ENTIRE day begging and pleading and bargaining with Alexa to drink the drink. We still have 3oz to go. I think I know where I will be all night. Sitting in the bathroom with Alexa! Because she has bowels f steel!

I have no idea when this will finally hit her.

A little background-Last year in Jan Alexa was FULL top to bottom-Yes, FULL! Puking Poop!

She got 3 enemas (the maximum allowed) and a tube ran through her nose to her belly pumping Go Lytley. She got 2 FULL IV bags full-not a poop squeezed out of her. Finally the NEXT day (they said most adult would be curled up in a ball on the toilet ALL day after 1/2 a bag) she began to poop ALL liquid. They thought they saw a blockage and the poop was passing around it and she was scheduled for surgery the next morning. Prior to the surgery they did another x-ray-she was CLEAR! She held all that liquid (and not one complaint except the tube in her nose) so long that is liquefied ALL her poop.

Anyway-here I am. Waiting for her to finish the drink and praying the cleansing starts SOON. Then I can get some answers.

So its either a fluke-Auto-Immune Hepatitis, or a blocked bile duct in the gall badder-gall stones-or early liver failure.

Prayers said for the fluke.

Im beyond exhausted and I know its stupid but am a little worried we may have to ditch Amber’s field trip. All the kids were so looking forward to it. ME TOO!! They have missed out on so much in the past 2 1/2 years you know.  Here we are again, different problem. I know I should not be whining but I am always honest and this is part of my thoughts. I just want everyone to be healthy and go to the stinkin farm like a normal family! What is so wrong with that.

I just want to see brown poop!! I thought she’d be going by now. UGH!

Since the day your child is born we all worry over poop. Geesh.

I have read all the thoughts/prayers and emails and really cannot tell you how much they mean. Im not just saying that. I have really taken some comfort in all of you out there. I know it may sound silly but its so true.

So thank you for being my sounding board.

Ill be back when I know more.

Ok gosh Im freakin out

May 21, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Uncategorized

OK this is NOT good.

There were some things that happened yesterday with Alexa. Long story short her poop was PURE WHITE. I googled this issue first and NOTHING good was releated to this symptom. I called her Doctor at 11:45 pm and was told it could be a plethora of things involving her liver. White-colorless poo=NEVER good.

It could be Auto-Immune Hepatitis-where her viral infection (stomach bug) has attacked her liver and because she has been compromised it may not be able to fight it, to liver failure from all the chemo. Then a few things in between. I wouldn’t want to close my eyes to point and pick one out.

There is a glimmer of a chance that since her bug has gone on for 2 weeks (on & off-which could also indicate the above-not a bug-but this bug has gone through our house already) the she wasn’t getting the proper nutrients from not eatting much and her liver isn’t working right.

I did tell Jay she seemed “sallow” which is a nursing term for yellow, and he said I was nuts, she looked fine.

Other symptoms are lethargy and nausea which she definitely has. Could be a blocked bile duct……ugh! Just look up white poop.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Im off to the doctors for a full work-up. Not sure what exactly they will do.

I do know I spoke with a newer doctor at the practice who is a man. I say that because he said-after I freaked out on the phone “You need to just go to bed and get some sleep. There is nothing you can do about it right now. Wait for tomorrow”

OBVIOUSLY never been a mother, let alone one of a kid like  Alexa. I wanted to crawl through the phone!!! SLEEP!! Are you kidding me? So I have been up ALL night, with a few disturbed minutes of on & off sleep.

Anyway. I contemplated even sharing but Im totally freakin. UGH!

Thanks for listening. Ill be back after I see her doctor and get info back.

When is this ever going to be OK? I’m really NOT in a good place right now.

Happy Colors

May 21, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Well its Wednesday! We are 1/2 way through to the long weekend! Jay has Friday off-Happy Dance!!!

Tomorrow I am taking the kids on a field trip with Amber’s Class to Charming Fair Farm! I have wanted to go there for some time now, and am so happy to have this opportunity to go. I am keeping Alexa & Noah out of school for the occasion. I *almost* had Alexa go to school since she missed Wed-till Tues from her Chemo/stomach bug??, but then I thought-she has missed school always for icky stuff, why not something FUN!

Now may God grant me the patience and sanity to live with being in charge of 3- three year olds and my kids as well! LOL! Better remember the camera too. Note to self : CHARGE BATTERIES! Isn’t that the worst? When you actually remember your camera, only to have it DIE. UGH!

Well today I thought I’d share a card I sent to a special friend to let her know I am thinking of her. I really loved the colors. They are soft yet cheery to me.

I am proud that I actually not only MADE it, but got it out in the mail last week. MIRACLE!

Happy Thoughts

sending-happiness-in-the-meadow.jpg

This set is called In the Meadow. I used my square nestabilities for the embossed edge. I then used another to block off the image so I could lightly sponge the pale yellow in the center. Who says you need a Copic Air Brush system? Not I! LOL! I am actually surprised I have yet to cave on that purchase. I think I’ve held off for like a year! GO LAUREN!!!

Upon uploading this card above, I found a card that was similar in cheeriness & color-it was published about  3 months ago in March CARDS magazine page 174!

mytime-birthday-bouquet-by-la.jpg Party for Amber

It uses Its a Party. I just used circle and scallop punches for the flowers. I thought it was the cutest, simplest idea for an invite. It was fun to see Amber’s name in the magazine. Although I CRINGED seeing my handwriting! I should have printed it out. PTI didn’t have their Simple Alphabet then.

I can’t even remember how long ago I made this card! It HAD to be last summer because the leaves are in FULL bloom, and green. So not fall yet. Definitely BEFORE winter. That is the WORST part about submitting-things can get accepted over a year in advance! By the time its published you have a whole new style, or forgot all about it.

CRAZY!

I also have a card in Stamp It! Cards page 54 A TRUE FRIEND. I haven’t submitted in so long now, and I forgot all about this one. So fun to see though. Lots of my fellow peeps in there as well.

Well I wish you all a great day. I am needing to get busy since I will be on the run all the rest of the week. I hope to upload all my stuff to share. So much coming up!!! Gotta love new yummies!

Later.

A different kind of Hip Hop

May 20, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Well, I am sorry this post is so late. Not what I had “planned”, but hey that is life right? I was suppose to have an owl card for the Dirty Dozen Challenge, but this has been an INSANE month for me-in a good a way, and I just plain ole didn’t get to it :C

The bad news is I feel worse today that the past few days. This nausea is kickin my butt! I heard for people getting this thing for up to a week! BLECH!! I will say it has kick started my mojo though! Stamping keeps my mind off feeling so yuck. So with that, today is a quick post. I do have some FAB-U-LICIOUS stuff to share soon-like a new to me product!! Stay tuned OK!

I am also working on getting some TY’s out the door. I always run so behind on those.

Now to the different kind of hip hop-

I got the Hip Hop Accessories set from Gina K- click—>HERE to check it out.

I made 3 cards that I wanted to share. I think its such a cute set, with lots of perfect sentiments. I am a sentiment JUNKY!!! Love them.

hippy-hippy-day.jpg To the hippest 4 year old

How cute is that hippo? Seriously? I just love it. This is the “baby” hippo.

I went a little button happy! But I think its a cute touch. Brings your eye to all the colors featured in the paper. I SO LOVE this paper by Making Memories. Its so cheery and fun. Gets me mixing colors I normally may not have.

It then lead me to this card-same paper pack

lookin-up-frog.jpg Lookin up to you

I LOVE circles! I have no idea WHY, I just do. They are just so fun.  I made this while I was playing with my CutterBee Circle Maker. Honestly, not sure I like it-let alone love it. I think you need the paper to be a full sheet to make circles. So not happy about that!  Maybe Im cutter challenged. All I know is I am SO happy I got it with a coupon. I will practice more before I make my final decision. All I can say is I wouldn’t tell my best friend its a MUST HAVE. I would say NO WAY! You can have mine! LOL!

All in all this was a fun card to make. Simple and fun.

Onto another

lookin-up-to-you-kite.jpg Looking up to you 2

OK so I LOVE that sentiment! can you tell?

I had to use this little roo-holding the kite! The kite is paper pieced, and 3D. I punched a hole so she is holding the string. Scribbled a white pencil for the cloud.

Yes, MORE circles too! I just can’t help it! And yes, more buttons. I guess I was just in a button and circle mood when I made these. This is more Making Memories paper-in the girly collection.

Well Im sorry Im not all chatty. Maybe that is a good change!

Im back to my stamp room-or bed. Depends on the kids. You know once you have them nap time is RARE! You never know what they may get into if you fall asleep for even a second. I can’t believe what they get into with me AWAKE!!! Maybe Ill just go to bed early.

Till tomorrow.

Not so Pink Cat

May 19, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: blogger challenge, Cards, Uncategorized

OK Girls-its time for all of you to join in the Challenge!! This should warm you up on a Monday.

I have seen a lot of you have joined in on the Pink Cat Studio {love} train. Now I want to challenge you to use some of those image’s with a color challenge 😀 (You don’t HAVE to own PCS stamps to participate, but if you do please try! Keeps it fun)

Each month the PCS design team has one member issue a challenge for the others. This week it was my turn. I chose this as my inspiration of color: white, pale yellow, olive, Caribbean and navy. Just use whatever colors you have that are close.

American Crafts A La Carte Collection in Quiche

sei.jpg

Now the additional part to the challenge is you HAVE to use a CIRCLE element! That means a button, tag, paper-something round! Sky is the limit! OK!

BOUNUS for YOU!! Try my sketch 😀 (you can mix up the colors of course)

pcs-sketch.JPG

Here is my Not so PINK cat-Blooming Birthday Wishes

kitty-challenge-pcs.jpg

This card uses Crafty Kitty Plate 1 (Yes! ATS sells PCS!!!) Isn’t it SOOOO cute! I loved her. Its like she is watering my pretty bridal confetti flower. I kept the Caribbean color as an accent color. I had this paper from SU! for at least a year or 2. Can’t remember. It really came in handy for my challenge. I wanted to use that paper I picked for the inspiration, but that would be TOO easy. Almost considered cheating! LOL! I used my white gel pen for the flowers in the sentiment

She is, of course colored with my Copic markers 😀

I hope you have fun with this. Send us a link here to your creation. ALSO-Be sure to check out all the DT member’s blogs to see their take on the challenge!

I think these are such happy colors. Perfect thing to perk up a Monday!

Can’t wait to hear what you think and see your very own version-

A Super Sketch for you!

May 18, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Saturday Sketch

Well I am so sorry I didn’t post back yesterday :C I do have a great sketch for you below.

I ended up feeling so sick ALL day at CKC! I thought it was a “possible” hangover from the whopping ONE Raspberry Lemonade Martini I had at dinner on Friday, but it turns out it must be the awful virus Amber & Alexa have passed back and forth the last week.

I was getting WAVES of awful nausea. To the point where people could just look at me and say “Oh boy are you OK? You are green and your lips are white.” When Paulette and I started the trip is when it really hit. He stopped to get some anti-nausea medication-so I could make it through the day (talk about your die hard shopper right? LOL!). So ALL I could find were these Cherry Chewable tabs. Now THAT is the true test right there!! If you are nauseous and you don’t vomit while chewing down those 3 NASTY tabs you are good to go! LOL! Seriously WHY do you want to chew down soe nasty gritty cherry flavored horse tab-that I couldn’t have opted to swallow? Anyway after a 1/2 hour more awful waves of nausea hit. I looked on the back of the box and it said MAY REPEAT DOES IN 15 MINUTES. WHAT!!! What kind of drug did I take? Obviously not a very good one if I can repeat it in 15 minutes!!

Anyway I wasn’t very good company. So not myself.  I sort of shopped on my own so I wouldn’t be a downer, and complain all day. I felt really bad since Tracey, Kerrie and Mom (Tracey’s mom-who is just like the sweetest person ever,  we were all calling her mom) came from NY, and my friend Debbie from MA- who I haven’t seen since last year, and then Molly B (yes she is the WINNER of all the PTI stuff!! and she made me the sweetest card) who I met for the first time there at CKC met up with us from ME, all traveled a long way for me to not be very chipper.

We did make a pit stop at The Paper Tree! That was fun. And yes she takes phone orders and will ship to you. (can you say Scor-Pal and ATG gun! To name a few of the yummies-tell her I sent ya!)

Put it this way-I walked in the door with ALL my purchases and my husband said “THAT is all you bought?” me-“Yes, I told you I feel awful” him-“Do you have some of it hiding out in the car?” me-“No! This is really what I got” him-“Yeah! You ARE really sick! Whay don’t you go to bed, and I’ll put your stuff away for you.”

Don’t get me wrong I still got a lot of stuff. Just nothing compared to previous years. I never come back with money! LOL! I tried too, to not get WAY too much patterned paper.

OK blah, blah, blah!

Let me get to the card for today. Since I got a bunch of emails and requests for THIS CARD (scroll down-its the butterfly pop out), I figured I better share what I did! LOL!

So todays Sketch is a pop out card!

sketch-50-pop-out.JPG Click to enlarge

The one I will share today was done for a b-day Party Amber was attending yesterday, where the theme was Curious George. The  invite had him holding a balloon. LIGHT-BULB moment here!

Side view

pop-out-side-view.jpg

Here is what you do!

You make your A2 size card ( 4 1/4 X  5 1/2 FOLD AT TOP).

Then you make your pop out layer! You cut your card layer 4 X 11.

Stamp your image, where you wish, towards the BOTTOM of the card.

Pick what part you want to pop out. You then go to your Scor-Pal, and score UP TO (not through) your image, on either side. Anything ABOVE the score line, you use your Hobby Blade to cut out. NOTE: Use a Basic Grey File (or sanding block) to smoothen your edges if they are too funky from the blade! I went back and did mine on this one later when I realized it wasn’t perfect;y smooth looking

(FYI mine was scored about 2 1/2 inches from bottom)

Then you score it again, where ever your front flap folds down to. So when it is closed the ends lay flush together. From the second score-(when your bottom flap is folded against the card) you will cut the top of the cardstock to be 5 1/4 inches. This makes the layer for the front of the card.

DO THIS BEFORE YOU DECORATE THE TOP PORTION OF YOUR CARD!

Now the reason for this method is every set is different and where you stamp  things can affect the length you need for you card. This way ensures you will definitely get your card to look perfect every time-just by trimming any excess off the the top.

Once it is cut (so your fold out layer-when folded closed is 4 X 5 1/4) and decorated, adhere to card front.

I HOPE THAT MAKES SENSE!

NOW another tip for an EASY pop out-just score you card pop out layer-then on a separate piece of cardstock-stamp and layer your image, and place it on the scor-line. That is not nearly as fun though!

My card is layered onto black cardstock.

Here is the card from the top view

ben-pop-up.jpg

I used the airplane/banner (LOVE that image) from MFT Going Places, and sentiment is from Happiest Birthday Wishes. I used SU! Markers to color each letter in the colors I liked, and since its an acrylic stamp I just bent it to go inside my banner!

bens-close-up.jpg Birthday Boy Wishes for Ben

Letters are by SEI Penelope’s Potpourri.

bens-gift-set.jpg

I used the monkey from It’s My Birthday (YOU MUST OWN THIS SET). I then created my own clouds using my circle punches, and a sponge dauber. The colors were taken from the American Crafts ribbon.

Inside this clear top nugget tin are Curious George stamps, a black ink pad, sticker book, and stickers. (We included a few other things, but this was the Curious George portion of the gift).

I just stuck the card under the ribbon band. I wasn’t at the party but Jay said he seemed to really love the stamps. YEAH! I ALMOST went the extra mile and decorated the tin, but then thought it would be more fun for him to use his stickers and stuff on it.

So there you have it!

I swear this is SUPER easy and SUPER fun!!! So I hope you give it a whirl. If you do send us a link here so we can check out your creation.

Also if you have ?’s let me know. I do ask that you print the directions out and TRY it, before you think it doesn’t make sense. A lot of times if you at least attempt it first you can figure it out, as oppose to just reading it.

Thanks again for checking in. I’m off to bed again. I need to rest up before the busy week.

Tomorrow I have a post for Pink Cat Studio Challenge!! I hope you will try and play along 😀

Later this week I have a post using some Gina K and who knows what else! LOL! Lot’s to do.

Enjoy the beautiful day (after to you try this)!

Our Daily Bread New Release

May 16, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Home decor/3-D items

card-tin-gift-odb.jpg Path of the Lord ensemble

Bad designer!

This is what happens when you try to say “I don’t need a list”.

OK so I didn’t say I don’t NEED a list, I misplaced my list, but its the same thing in my eyes since I never went to find it.

I totally missed the day of the new release for Our Daily Bread Designs! I got my designs done, but crashed and burned before uploading them. I actually thought the release was set for the 1st! My brain was just in overload I guess. I was just wiped out. Alexa left school really early yesterday because this round has made her pretty sick. So being consumed with my bucket holding got quite exhausting.

I think my projects were worth the wait of one more day! LOL! OK so I HOPE they were!

Anyway the newest sets are so pretty. They are Path of Life and Fruit of the Spirit. I definitely wanted to work with them this month, so I opted IN!

I personally, normally am not into coloring scenery. Im not very good at it, so that adds to my lack of ambition- but, this scene with the gate, to me was breath taking. I decided to TRY my hand at coloring it al in.

A first I was only going to highlight certain things in the scene, but once I got started I didn’t stop!

So I got my scene done. I used Pebbles Peralescent chalks for some of the “filler”, and bling!  It was going to be a card. I looked at it and thought NO WAY! I can’t just slap this onto a card! It needs to be displayed-forever! Cause Lauren Meader is NO scene maker, but I was happy with this. So here is my Heart Tin, a keepsake I can have forever.

tin-for-odb.jpg

I used some weave paper by Martha Stewart. The stamped/colored image is attached UNDER the lid 😀 Now this definitely opens up a whole new world to me for decorating these tins. as you can see, the path image is rather large 😀 In a good way! It lends itself to many possibilities of being colored, cut down-whatever you like.

These images I find awesome to do a quick, simple, single color. So I decided to make my card much simpler. Lets be honest-I really didn’t want a complicated card to outshine the gift. I wanted clean and SIMPLE!

gate-of-the-lord-odb.jpg

This scene was die cut/embossed with my oval nestabilities.

I really enjoyed creating this set! What a great gift for someone filled with homemade yummies! Or a few candles, soaps and whatnot.

Speaking of what to put inside:

Recently a friend of mine-Sonia sent me an AMAZING package of fresh smelling soaps, lotions and bath scrubs. I tried one of the soaps immediately, and my hands smelled and FELT wonderful!! Her stuff would be perfect for putting in the tin. Not that I am parting with any of it 😀 She said it was for my 30th b-day. WOW.

When I picked up the pkg from the PO it smelled amazing. The woman at the PO was like WOW! That smells great! (You could smell it all from outside the box.) When I ever opened it I about died. I could not even believe all she sent.

THANK YOU SONIA!! Even more-she is having some tough family issue’s, so for her to take the time to think of me and the kids was just unbelievable.

Here are some photos of all the yummies. I think I won the lottery! Click to enlarge

amazing-gifts.jpg   more-gifts.jpg

She personalized Noah’s bubble bath stuff to say Noah’s Monkey Farts bubble bath. Boy did he think that was HILARIOUS!! He kept saying he was taking a bath in Monkey Fart’s and was going to smell like a big Monkey Fart! Oh BOY! You gotta love BOYS! LOL!

noah-gift.jpg

You can see her stuff here-Essential Goodies.I am so excited she has an Etsy Shop! Now I can just order what I want in the future.

Now as if the lotions weren’t enough, she sent me jewelry! I already got several comments on the ring! The ring comes apart and you can change out the stones!!!! They can match your outfits! I LOVE it.

The butterfly necklaces are for the girls-Amber has Purple, and Alexa has pink. They are butterflies. You have no idea how bad I wanted to keep them for me! LOL! We can share.

handmade-jewelry.jpg You have to enlarge it!

Here are the girls with the jewels on!

a-and-a-necklaces.jpg

You can find the jewelry here->   Sonia Jung Designs. Next up for me is a Mother’s Bracelet! I never found a mother’s ring I really liked, and since Im done ADDING to the family its time to get something I can wear.

I had to go and ask her where to find all this stuff!! So thanks for sharing with me Sonia! You made my year.

Color Challenge Fruit Bowl

odb-color-challenge.jpg

Im so sad that you cannot see the SHIMMER in my project. I colored most of this image using Twinkling H20’s. I got them at CKC last year, and LOVE them. Again, Im so not a great colorer of things in “Nature”. Im bad with color choices and shadowing, but Im a work in progress. I see some other’s work and about fall over, they look so real!

You may be wondering WHY I have all these colors on my card! Well, it is a fruit collection, and Kelley at ODBD gave us a bit of a color challenge! I LOVE a challenge!  I had to add the blue. Not sure WHY, looking back, but I just did.

Here are the PRISM colors:

Herbal Garden Light, Medium and Dark
Sunflowers Light
Blush Red Medium and Dark
Spring willow Light

The cardstock on this card is by Prism! You can view the colors HERE!

I stamped/colored/ cut my main image. I layered it onto a cut piece of embossed vellum, that was layered onto a scallop white circle. Added to the texture and elegance for me.

Fruit of the Spirit Paper Pieced!

fruit-of-the-spirit.jpg

Would you believe me if I told you this entire fruit assortment is paper pieced-except for the leaves?  I can’t tell you how cool it appears to be in person!! Everything is layered on!! I stamped 7 different images onto patterned paper to get my colors.

I used the Basic Grey Aerial Collection for my fruit bowl! I then added a touch of color to some of it with my Copic Markers!

The place mat was done with the stripped pattern

The bowl used a funky leaf pattern

grapes-the purple pattern

Bananas and pears from a yellow on the paper’s

The orange was a bird on the paper

Pretty cool.

I used my circle nestabilties  to cut out  the image. Since I was paper piecing, I just layered the place mat so it overhung.

Clean and simple with a pop of purple! Love it.

OK peeps! That is all for today! That’s enough isn’t it? Well maybe-I need to get a challenge card done. OYE!

I am having dinner tonight with  some of my bestest friends!! Counting down the minutes! I really need a night out after this week. Then tomorrow is CKC in Manchester! Are you going? Maybe I’ll see ya there!

Till tomorrow.

Papertrey Ink Release May

May 15, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Home decor/3-D items

Thank you ALL soooooo much for the thoughts & prayers for Alexa. We got her tests back and things look great. I am still on the rollercoaster of emotions. Its hard to really explain and put into words. Yes its a happy time, but there is so much more to it. I know I am certainly looking forward to the weekend of retail therapy at CKC! But especially meeting up with some PSF’s!

My PSF Laura Sneden sent a gorgeous planter of Violets! THANK YOU!!!! Lord please help me to NOT kill them. They are the PRETTIEST purple ever.

Then there is another Laura who sent her a stunning bouquet! Laura-you didn’t include your last name! Please email me. I have so many PSF’s named Laura. I want to properly thank you. It was so sweet of you to do.

Photos will be posted this week/weekend, along with the pkg of goodies I got the other day with some cards too.

OK now today I want to share my PTI projects with you all!!! I hope you all enjoyed the release, and be sure to check out the Design Team gallery and their blogs.

Please let me know which project you liked most. I always enjoy reading the different responses and why they are such. Everyone is so different.

*NOTE ALL PROJECTS USE STAMPS FROM PAPERTREY INK!

Loving Lavender Moon! Oh and the PAPER!! WOW!

OK here we go!

Holiday Greetings

Stamps-Mailbox Greetings
Cardstock-PTI select white
Patterned Paper by Chatterbox
Acetate
Ink-Pallette black, Copic Markers, bashful blue, white StazOn
CM Wavy cutter, glitter, ribbon by Martha Stewart

mailbox-greetings.jpg

This is a super cute 3D style card. The acetate layer folds up under the top flap. Snowflakes are stamped on the acetate layer so they appear to be falling from the sky. I cut the mailboxes in the middle out, and put “mail” in them! I made the wavy snow-hill with my CM wavy cutter. I think this is definitely a unique holiday card, if you are one who starts in July, or has some special people on that holiday/winter card list!

I wanted to create a “sweet” gift set. I made my bees in 3 layers!
We have the bottom layer, just the body. Middle layer-bee stamped on vellum  cardstock with white stazon-then cut out for the wings-then the bee body again. Candice’s set makes the perfect bee easy!

So I got this jar at Michaels, and filled it with Rocher chocolates! I liked the jar because it seemed like an old honey jar. I found that my Punch Bunch punches made flowers similar to that of the 12 X 12 Big Blossoms paper! So it was super easy to create a 3D look. I also stamped the little bee on random places of the honey Jar.

For my hive-I stamped the honey combs onto my cardstock. Cut strips, then used a corner rounder. Dimensionals give it the ultimate dimension. When I saw Taylor’s sneak peek post I about died at how similar our creations were!

I  covered the square tin and rolled up a pair of pink, and brown socks, to look like a cinnamon bun. It fits perfectly in there, and in my oven box.

I hand cut the little oven mit card to go with the package!

I used the scallop circle nestabilties to create a pretty circle box, to hold my little circle tin, which has a cooked cinnamon bun inside it. I designed the top of the tin to look like a cinnamon bun using Garden of Life, and some white glitter, for the frosting.

amber-in-hat.jpg

When I found this bucket hat at Target I was just giddy! I knew I could make it go from a plain old hat, to one my daughter would LOVE!! The best part-no sewing required!!

I asked Amber to pick an image she wanted on the hat, and she chose the bunny. We then organized some scraps from my pile from when I use to sew!

Here is a closer view

fabric-pieced-bunny-hop.jpg

All I needed was some black pallette ink, and a little Ribbon Stiff, and I had this cute fabric pieced bunny for her hat! The nose is liquid pearls. The sentiment uses a Lavender Sachet Pallette ink.

If you can cut, piece and iron you are on your way!

This is a simple and adorable card for any little boy from birth to the first few years! My friend just took this card for a baby shower, where the baby boy to be, has a room , that is a Pottery Barn nautical theme. Such a sweet and simple image. I love the clean lines this has.

THIS is my favorite project of the month. I have no idea why-it just is.

When I saw the little head image from Bitty Baby Blessings I KNEW I had to attempt to pair it with Green Thumb’s pea pod image! Well, as you can see it worked! Its this not the cutest little baby in a pea pod you have ever seen? I loved making this.

I took my punch bunch punches and re-created the same flowers as in the patterned paper!

Circus Fun invitation

circus-fun-invite.jpg

I was definitely thinking Circus Fun themed birthday when I saw this image, and the patterned paper! I paper pieced the elephant, which is so fun & easy to do. punched out the 2 circles from the Big Spots, and added a page pebble to create a “ball” look to it. The elephant is suppose to be in the circus ring-get it?!

Well that is plenty of eye candy for today!

I am hoping to pull it together and get my Friday Blogger’s Challenge done, and a sketch completed for you.

Once again thank you for reading.

Till tomorrow.
