RUN!!! ATS has The Paper Garden book back in stock HERE!!!!
You can read my review HERE!!
Details on the card-below. But first I thought I’d share a total MOM moment.
It’s Wednesday already! Finally a week that flies by!
Noah has been sick with croup. He started over the weekend (Monday) and was fine after getting his Pulmo-cort nebulizer. He went to school yesterday no problem. Well today when it was time to get up, he acted SO SICK, and groggy. His voice sounded awful. So, I called the school and kept him home. I SWEAR no sooner did the bus drive of with Alexa, he hopped-literally, out of bed, then down the stairs, and looked just fine.
I told him to get dressed and I would drive him to school. He then proceeded to the couch with a blanket.
Down in stamp land, now around 9:30-too far into school, since he comes home at 11am- I suddenly hear THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
I come up stairs to find Noah bouncing up & down throughout the house. Are you kidding me? Now if you don’t have boys then you don’t understand the jumping for no apparent reason. Its just what they do.
Don’t kids have that natural instinct to know that if you are going to STAY HOME, act sick at least for a little while longer? Here is a little conversation:
me-Why are you jumping around the house?
Noah-Um, I don’t know. I like jumping.
me-we don’t jump all over the house.
He then said Hey! Can I go play outside?
me-Um, NO! you are home SICK ………………remember?
Noah-Oh, yeah. How about later when I am all better?
me-NO!
Noah-Can I play XBOX?
me- no XBOX either!
Noah-Oh! Man! Why no XBOX?
me-When we stay home we don’t play video games. We stay on the couch.
Noah-Why?
me- BECAUSE WE ARE SICK!
Noah-Maybe I’ll be all better to go to school tomorrow
me-SHOCKING!
Gotta love kids.
That was my morning.
Anyway-back to the card. The day of Alexa’s LAST Chemo, my PSF Laura sent me a beautiful plant of Violets (they are actually still alive!! yeah, I didn’t kill them yet). Thanks Laura
Here is the plant!
I decided I should create a thank you card like the planter! So I got out my BASKET stamp, and my little flower punch-the small Sakura flower, and created a basket of little violet’s! I used 2 different shades of the violet collection from core-dinations for the flowers, then I just used a Souffle pen for the yellow centers.
The large square are the scallop Nestabilities. Ribbon is the satin in Lavendar Moon
I made the tag with a Sizzix die, and stamped a sentiment from Mixed Messages. That is a perfect set!
I think the card is just SO PRETTY!! I am just loving making my own flowers. It makes my entire creation hand made. Plus it is so much fun.
Well I hope you like the basket card. I really love that particular stamp, especially for these flowers.
Laura this card will be in your mailbox as soon as I get to the PO!
OK back to stamping. I hope you also get some MYTIME in 😀
Till tomorrow

What beautiful violets! And I LOVE the card!! It’s awesome! I SO want that book, but I can’t buy it yet….Maybe soon! Glad to know that ATS has it. 🙂
ok you are slowly wearing me down with all of the Paper Garden stuff. Man you have amazing powers! That basket card is beautiful! -Molly B
Beautiful card Lauren! And I am so glad to know that my son is not the only boy who answers the question “why are you jumping” with ” I like jumping”!!!!!!!!!!
This must have taken a while Lauren…But it was worth it! Gonna have to CASE this one some day! Glad to hear that Noah is doing better! LOL…I guess I will find out what having a boy is like when my 1st grandson is born in August! Needless to say, I am going to be one of those “idiot” grandmothers…Oh Heck, I already am…you should see what I have bought that baby!!!
This card is absolutely gorgeous!!! Gotta love boys…think he’ll only try it once after not getting to do all he thought he could 🙂
This card is beautiful! I love the color purple and love how you did the basket and flowers.
That card is gorgeous! It must of taken forever to make!
Love that violet basket you created! I can so relate to your story. I swear my son can not hold still sometimes and is always jumping everywhere!
I love the card!!!! and let me just say that your story is why God listens to the prayers of older (that would be me) mothers when we are pregnant and we pray for little girls. I don’t know what I would do with a little boy, I am such a “girl”!!!! Truthfully, your son sounds wonderful, and I am glad to see your daughter is done with her chemo!!!
Wow! to both baskets of violets! And boys, well, even grown, don’t stop bouncing. What can I say….I give you no hope there. Sorry, but you’ve got to love them even if you don’t understand them! lol

Gorgeous! I ordered that book last weekend from my LRSS and am looking forward to making new creations. I absolutely love your blog.
CeeCee
Gorgeous! ’nuff said.
Gorgeous Lauren!
Laura will no doubt love it.
That’s too funny about Noah – Shannon, unless she’s got a fever of 102 or higher (then she’s just a big ball of mush) will appear fine when she’s sick (if she has strep or something), which kills me, because if anyone from work sees her, they probably are like, “yeah, suuuuure she’s sick…”
Hope to chat soon…miss you!
WOW!!! That is GORGEOUS! You made such pretty flowers, and have enabled me to order the book and some punches! You are such a BAD girl! LOL (I can’t wait to get the book and start creating flowers!)
Glad Noah isn’t really too awfully sick…hehe…I raised 4 boys, so I know a little about their manipulations of moms! 😀 Have a great day!
This card is sooo cute! I immediately went to the sites to buy the stamp and punch. Well, I ordered the punch (along with other stuff) and then got to the stamp and their site is unsecure at the moment, so I couldn’t put my credit card info in yet….arrrgghhh I hope they get the problem fixed, because that stamp is way cute!
Lauren, I LOVE the basket you made! And how cool is it that I can say that Make an Impression is by me?!? They have such a fun store! What I would like to know is how are you attaching the flowers?
I love your card! Great story about your little boy … I know all about it with two sons of my own we had our share of not “feeling good” for school but ok for Nintendo. Boys will be boys.

Couldn’t just sit here and think it, had to say it too…that is one BEAUTIFUL card! My boy does the same jump/hop/whatever all the time too for no reason (and he’s 6)!
The card is awesome, looks just like the plant! I looked at the website yesterday and WOW!, who would have known you could design soooo much with all those punches. It’s simply toooo crazy.
I had to chuckle when I read the post regarding your son. My daughter does the same thing. Today got a call regarding her stomach. I told her to go back to class because I was on walk and not near my car. The school said, she didn’t have a fever and she looked fine. So far it’s 1:30 here and no return call so all is well. Only two more days til summer break. : )
Oh wow what a beautiful card – it is awesome. Your cards are just stunning – I look at your website and wonder how could someone come up with these ideas!! My punches just dont produce the same looks! I like the post about the boy illness too – I have two of them – a 13 year old and a 3 year old ( I am crazy). Boys dont know the meaning of being sick well not at this age – they leave it until they reach the adult man stage (sorry to all the guys reading this, but you women must have heard of man flu- groan). My eldest wont even stay at home if he isnt well – he would rather hold out and go to school – the sickness seems to wear of so quickly if he stays at home and then he has a whole day of no you cant do that, you cant go out etc, so easier to go to school! Keep up the great work – your site is my daily fix….have to have something I’m not into tea or coffee!!
Your story just cracked me up! 🙂 I can so relate to boys jumping…for no reason – just because!
Love, love, LOVE this card! The violets are just perfect! (Mental note to self: get this basket stamp and punch.)
Gosh, I keep going back and looking at it…. it’s so pretty! Laura’s going to love it! Okay, kiddo – I gotta run! I’ve been so crazy busy since last week. I’m afraid if I sit too long, I’ll fall dead asleep!
Hugs,
Renee
THUD!!! Drop dead gorgeous!! Your plant is gorgeous too!
Well, Having three boys, I know EXactly what you mean about jumping around. I have 4 in the house at this moment and they are running like wild beast. Now, two of them are 17 and One of them. (okay my child) Is the cause of the running. He thought it would be funny to put ice in his buddies pants, now the two liltle brother think it is really funny and want to try it on everyone. ALl my ice is now on the floor. ugh boys

The card is fantastic. Alexa ending chemo is even better.
I think kids get overwhelmed need a day away from their responsibilities. I am glad Noah will be better “the next day.”

This is gorgeous! I just got the book and can’t wait to try some flowers – now I need to get the right punches! (always something more I need!)
Such a lovely basket of flowers you have created, love all the dimension and colors! It is funny he know to play sick to get out of school but not to wait until after the other kids get home to suddenly feel better, too cute!
Oh my,….you have done a beautiful job and your review on the book was great!!!
OMW, Lauren! This card is AMAZINg, and for me? Yippee! I better have Stefan work on acting geeked out excited so I don’t get mad at him when it comes and he says, “Oh yeah, nice, honey.”
Laura,
Love the card as always! My son was home yesterday with the Croup too! In fact I had to go to the emergency room in the morning because he was having problems breathing from coughing so hard, than when we had to go into my job for a little, and wouldn’t you know that he was running all over the place like a little boy that he is!
