I AM alive! I always feel so missed an appreciated when I open my email to find so many people wondering where I am, because Im late posting. Makes a girl feel LOVED!!
MWAH!
I am here, just buried with deadlines. That is a good thing. In the meantime some eye-candy.
Well you *may* recognize this from the Lizzie Anne Designs newsletter, a few months back. I so love this set, In the Treetop, and it has really gone UNDER USED! If you don’t remember it, then pretend I never mentioned it! LOL!
I never got to post it, so its new to here!
The “apple’s” are my home made dew drops. I LOVED the look this had when I made it.
Many ask HOW I got my home made “dew drops” colored. Well I used my copic markers! You can also use Sharpie makers! Now you get a rainbow of colors with ONE purchase.
This card color combo is so fresh looking to me-teal, rose red, and river rock kind of colors.
On this card I used the kissing technique to get the leaves on my tree. The little bird is in the Spotz circle. The main layers are mounted onto vellum for a softer look. I love this clean and simple-yet layered layout.
Yes I do have some ROCKIN NEW!! stuff to share, but the last week of the month is INSANELY busy for me here! Always. I have release work to finish up (peeks for a few companies start on the 30th! YEAH), and so the many things I have done need to stay under wraps. I also get my PTI stuff which can cause me to get lost in a creative whirlwind for days! LOL! Plus Amber is finishing dance, my birthday is coming, which I am starting to get excited about-no idea why! Maybe because Jason said he will take me shopping!
After going to the stamp store I am considering a Cricket (thanks to Paulette for raving about it, maybe Ill just steal hers here & there! LOL!) Opinions on that welcome here PLEASE!!!
Then I have been designing my class projects!! Looks like I am going to TRY to do 3 different classes on May 31st!! Starting at like 10am! Ill keep you posted.
Many of you asked about mail order classes. I am going to have to look into that. Pretty cool idea.
Well thank you all for checking in and supporting me in all my endeavors! It means the world to me-seriously! I also cannot wait to meet so many of you at the classes. This is going to be so cool.
Till tomorrow!

Phew… glad you’re alive and well. I figured you were busier than a bee but couldn’t help but worry, ya know?
Ughhhh…I so wish we lived closer together. It would be a blast being at one of your classes.
Question… when you color the dew drops with the Sharpies, do you cover the entire surface or just the bottom. Does it get all over your fingers? Does it dry quickly? I have the clear (fake) dew drops (ran out right after seeing your post on them), so I could easily color them to match.
Okay, Chickie. I have to run an errand. TTYL 🙂 Hugs
Love the card! The homemade dew drops are fabulous!! Wondered where you were all day. Was hoping the kids weren’t ill or anything. Glad to know you are just BUSY with deadline stuff!
My husband offered to buy me a Cricut too but I wasn’t sure how much I’d use it. Told him he could just buy me a few hundred dollars worth of stamps instead 😉
Cute card Lauren. Love the apple tree! You know we teachers love all things apple. Can’t wait to see all this design work! Oh and if you’re going to get a Cricut – might as well get the Cricut Expression – takes all the same cartridges and cuts bigger!!!! I have a friend with the regular one and one with the Expression – go for the expression! Oh and there is this designer software that lets you weld things together! Very cool. I don’t own one I just use theirs!
Love your card. Your blog is the first thing I check every morning so I to have missed you. TFS Ann
Oh..I looked at the Cricket today. But I could not spend 80.00 today. And I loved the neat embossing envelopes. One was even marked down. That was bad of me to want to buy something-just because it was marked down-and I don’t even have the main machine! 😉
I love the card. It is so cute. I know several teachers that would LOVE that. What a neat thing to give them!
Let us know if you get a Cricket or not!
And a MWAH back to you! We love and miss our Lauren when she is busy.
I was wondering what you were up to? Figured the end of the month had you crazy. Can’t wait to see your new stuff. I’m like a Mytime junky!
I have a Silhouette and LOVE it. Don’t know much about the Cricut. If there is anything you want to know about the Silhouette though, I’m your girl 🙂 -Molly B
Well can’t wait to see what you have in plans for scor-pal. If you get the cricket I would go with the 12X12 one. You can buy longer paper at hobby lobby. I think I saw it there. I say lucky you if you get one. I am still going crazy over the spellbinders. I bought one and now I am thinking about getting more. I enjoyed it so much. Glad all is good. I check periodically to see when you post. And your kids are home so I wasn’t to worried. Busy lady, how do you get done what you get done?
I haven’t been by your blog in what seems like an eternity so I’m way behind! I love your work and just wanted to add my 2 cents to say you would be great teaching at your LSS. I used to teach stamp classes at a local stamp store until it went out of business (tear) and it was a lot of fun. People will learn so much from you and while it’s nice to have all of us in cyber-space admiring your work, I’m sure it’ll be even nicer to have some face-to-face feedback. If I lived near there, I’d definitely sign up for a class or two, but I think it would be too long of a drive from Illinois 🙂 Best of luck to you, Lauren!
Mail order classes! That’s a pretty good idea. Definately let me know if you do this. I would love it!
Great card! Good luck with your deadlines and the classes! Well Happy Birthday early! 30 years young not too bad!
I had a Cricut and sold it to someone who scrapbooks more than I do. The Cricut is good for larger things/words but I didn’t like it for the smaller words I wanted to use on my cards.
I have the Silhouette which is my fav, the big Shot, the Sidekick, and I just bought the Cuttlebug so I could use the nestabilities I bought. I am using and liking the Cuttlebug more than I thought I would. It is PERFECT for cutting and embossing nestabilities but I just bought the greatest butterfly set where you cut out the butterfly and then can emboss it 4 different ways! Very cool for cards.
Last comment, besides the cookie cutter words for Silhouette, look at the Boss Cut dies which also work in the Silhouette. I am in die cut heaven!
I remember that card very well, since I thought it was SO cool! 😉
Glad to see you’re ok, but maybe you should slow down and smell the roses?… 🙂
OK I’m just jealous of your crazy energy! 😉
I LOVE your card, everything about it! TFS.
I own the cuttlebug and the cricut. Perhaps if I made scrapbooks, I would use the cricut more often. It is an easy machine to use following the simple directions.
I LOVE the cuttlebug. It is one of the best purchases I made for stamping.
Check out AOL scrapbooking message board and ask about the cricut machine. You will get loads of information and opinions.
My goodness you are one busy lady!! Hope you are handling it all ok!
I LOVE the drops for apples – they are such a nice touch!
Love the card with the little apples! I would like to see what everyone says about the Cricut, too!
LOVE the colors!! I wish I lived closer — I would DEFINITELY come to your classes! Have a great week and thanks (as always) for sharing your talents with us!!!!
Great card Lauren… I have been in a dew drop frenzy lately… I love them.
Good luck with your classes.
Hi Lauren,
I scored at M’s the decorative accents or dew drops were on clearance for $2 each bag!!!!!!!! I got green, yellow, purple, and pink. I so wanted to take your first class!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Figures the only SU party of the year I am having is May 31st, I’m so bummed :[ The Cricut is really cool, you can choose a size and the cartridges have a ton of images on them. If you need more of one image just hit the repeat button. I only buy the cartridges on sale at M’s. If your sticky sheets start to not hold the paper I roll a brayer over the paper to make the sheets last longer. Check out their website for more info. Thanks for the great card as always :}

Hi Lauren–
I have a Cricut & I absolutely love it! Especially when you have alot of the same shapes/templates that need to be cut out–saves alot of time. The “Tags, Bags, Boxes & More” cartridge is wonderful. I probably use my Cricut at least once a day–especially when I have classes and need alot of the same cut out. It was definitely worth every penny.
Happy Birthday to us on Saturday. My bday is May 3rd too–but I’ll be in Disney for 10 days during that time. As much as I love Disney, I told my husband I want other things for my bday than Disney stuff–lol! I want a shopping spree at my favorite craft stores!!
Take care–Suzanne Dean
you continue to amaze me! Your card is fabulous! How do you stay creative with so much on your plate?! Amazing!
Adorable card, Lauren!
Oh, Miss Diane loves the dance frame! She showed it to me lastnight. She is glad you didn’t have the girls sign it – she thinks it is beautiful (I do, too!)!
I am so loving reading all of the comments about the Cricut! I haven’t bought one yet, but all of your blog readers are pushing me closer and closer! Love reading all the comments – the good and the bad!
Grea card Lauren! Love the colors and the images… and the ‘home made’ dew drop idea is great… TFS!
Can’t wait to hear more on the class projects! :o)
Hey Lauren,
I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the Arte Y pico award. You can check it out on my blog if you want.
http://inkypinkyinks.blogspot.com/2008/04/arte-y-pico-award.html
I love your work and check your blog everyday!
Hi Lauren!
I too am one of your fans – I just love your style of stamping. I am in Northern Ireland and although we do have a few very creative stampers (I’m not sure that I could include myself in that category!) it certainly hasn’t got the same following here or the retail outlets to feed the addicts’ habit! What about online classes – would that be something that you would ever consider?
Thank you for sharing so much of yourself and your lovely family on your blog.

I don’t have an electronic die-cut machine either. I have thought about it, but I doubt I will buy one. I think they are better suited to scrapbooking which covers larger areas. I have the Ellison Tag-a-long, Sizzix, and the Wizard die-cut machines. I use them all! I love my Nestabilities and I use them in the Wizard which is what they were intended to be used with. I use Cuttlebug dies in my Tag-a-long and Sizzix with no trouble. I would save my money if you mainly do cards and buy more stamps 🙂 !!!
How cute is that!? Love it!
Well, I was wondering about that tree set from Lizzie Anne. I think I just might have to get it as some point.
Sweet Card!!
It does look so sweet and fresh…
adorable tree..love the dew drops 🙂
Colors are great…pretty ribbon.
Dee
So again WONDERFUL job ,,as always …:)
So where do you get those spots you put the butterfly in ??I think that is way cool …
thanks Diana
This is so fresh and pretty!! I love your “apples” and cute bird accent!!
