Who is there?
Oppourtunity.
Oppourtunity who?
For you! Can I come in?
Well you are probably wondering what the heck I am talking about. Read on please!
Paulette and I went to The Paper Tree today! What fun we had. That store has some fabulous stuff. Elzybells, A Muse, and Cat’s Pajama’s to name a few. We won’t get into the paper and ribbon! WOW!! I felt right at home.
After we enabled some woman to buy certain stamps, and aScor-Pal , we sat and chatted with the owner Michelle for at least an hour. She said she liked me, and my excitement for this. WOW! I guess I must be a walking billboard for this hobby I love so much. I just can’t hide it. She asked me if I wanted to teach classes at her store in Manchester NH!! Whenever I want, I set my own hours! I can do whatever projects I want. I just need to think about it, and schedule a date!
Let me say she was SUPER nice to talk to. We really hit it off.
Now many of you know I use to be a Stampin’Up! Demo. I have NO problem talking and teaching people, large groups, no problem. If anything I can’t shut up. I enjoy people getting excited about this whole hobby. So here lies my dilemma.
ANSWER ME THESE QUESTIONS!
Should I open the door? Should I take the plunge and attempt a class? My first one would be a project I design, using the Scor-Pal! I love that thing.
Do you live in the area?
Would you attend one of my classes if you could?
My issue is failure. I don’t want to jump and not know where I am jumping too. I also don’t like wasting my time.
If you would like to take a class with me, feel free to tell me what you want to learn! I can do ANYTHING!! BE HONEST!!! I can take it.
I really think its a good opportunity, that I can do on my own schedule! I’m thinking of hosting several classes one Sat. a month! I can spare that. It would also help me earn some $$$ for stuff for our family.
Don’t worry I’m not dropping any DT work, or stopping my blog! I Love doing everything I am now. This is just bonus where fun and having a “job” I may love collide.
What are your thoughts? Should I go for it?
Thanks for the input!!
Lauren

Most definitely GO FOR IT!!!!!
If I lived close enough to attend ANY class you had I’d be there in a heart beat!!! As for what I’d want you to teach – ummm ALL OF IT!!! You do such amazing work and if your tutorials are any indication – you will rock at this!!!
If you do decide to do this, make sure to post your class schedule!!! I’d love to try to convince my DH I need to drive to Killington to see my brother and make a side trip through Manchester. Of couse it would be on a weekend that you are having a class!!! LOL!!
Lauren,
You only live once so they say. If you don’t try it will you regret it? I would so love to go to one of your classes!!!!!!!!!!!! You are very talented and have a great personality. I can think of people who would go, friends and my stamp club members. I’m about an hour or so from Manchester. I say go for it, there is no long commitment.

IF I were in NH, I would definitely come to one of your classes! Your tutorials are class kits already done, you can leverage your current and past work, and possibly sell kits in the store. I can tell you from my experience that I love teaching papercraft classes and have been doing some for Hobby Lobby for the past two years, plus my home studio. Since you will be doing it at a specialty store, you know that every customer that walks in there is going to be someone who is interested in taking your class, and the store is small enough that the owner can promote and encourage your classes, your target market in a nutshell! Most stores realize they don’t make money on the classes, but on the sales that result from the classes. Typical in our area is for LSS’s to take half the fee (and they provide all the materials), or, as is the case in HL, you get all the fee, but you are asked to promote products that they sell and either you or the student purchases the materials (not all of it has to come from there). In both cases you can set your own times (as long as there is availability). I think you will LOVE it! I have made so many new friends and totally enabled many people to liberate funds from their accounts! 🙂 That makes the store happy. GO FOR IT!
Vicki
I would do it. If I lived near you, I would come to your classes for sure.
Don’t even think about failure. All of your ideas are so awesome and original, everyone will love your ideas. Just think what getting your name out there even more will do for your hobby or career (which ever way you want to look at it.) It is worth the shot.
And you will love teaching a craft and talking to people.
Just do it!!!
ANSWER ME THESE QUESTIONS!
Should I open the door? Should I take the plunge and attempt a class? My first one would be a project I design, using the Scor-Pal! I love that thing.
***Yes! At least give it a try and see how it goes. If you find that after awhile, it’s getting to be a bit too much then drop it or cut way back. Sounds like Michelle is willing to work with you so I’d take it
Do you live in the area?
***** No, but if I were, I’d be visiting you all the time.
Would you attend one of my classes if you could?
****** Absolutely! To see the queen of stamping stamp and visit my friend….absolutely!
My issue is failure. I don’t want to jump and not know where I am jumping too. I also don’t like wasting my time.
*****You* could never be a failure…ever – so get rid of that idea. Not knowing what you’re getting into – yes, that would be scary but like I said earlier – explain to Michelle you just want to ‘test’ it, if it doesn’t work out – it doesn’t work out. Drop it or cut way back on the teaching.
Wasting time? Time is money – how would you be paid? If you’re getting paid fairly, you wouldn’t be wasting time. You remember how much prep went into workshops – remember to figure that in too. Would the other areas of your life suffer – home, family, other stamping commitments?
If you would like to take a class with me, feel free to tell me what you want to learn! I can do ANYTHING!! BE HONEST!!! I can take it.
***Right now, I’m digging the 3D flowers you’ve been doing, love your containers, well, okay, just about everything! Just watching you in action would be a thrill.
So – short story, long – I say go for it!
Talk to you later.
Hugs!
You’ll never know until you try! Sounds very similar to an experience I had – and it has been vastly rewarding!!
You speak of failure. But answer this – for you to feel that this venture had been successful – what would that look like? What is your vision of success? We all measure success in different terms.
How quickly do you need to reach success? Instantly? Within a few months?
If I lived in the area I would be attending but I think NH is a little to far to drive from Maryland. Your work is just amazing and I get so much inspriation from your blog. Just think what people are going to take away from your classes. I think it’s a wonderful opportunity. But you have to decide what’s best for your family, if it fits then there is your answer. What are you waiting for? Call her and say YES! My friend Mary visits that’s store and always has nice things to say on her blog about them and another local store. Sometimes you have to take a leap and jump in with both feet. Can’t wait to hear what you decide. Have a great weekend! 🙂
I would attend your class if I lived there. You do amazing work!
Go for it!!! What’s the harm?! Try it one Saturday, if you hate it or think it wasn’t a good use of your time, there’s no one saying you have to do it again. BUT, you may love it and I think you will! I don’t live near you, but if I did, I would 100% go to a class that you taught! You are so talented and enthusiastic and yours is one of my favorite blogs to read every day. Good for you on this opportunity and good luck!
Lauren you are a natural for something like this. I only wish I lived near you! Your tutorials on your projects are so well thought out and truly informative. Your design work is over the top! Good luck with this, I definitely think you should go for it. If your first class isn’t absolutely full – word of mouth will definitely make sure your next one is over-flowing! ~chris
Oh Lauren that is fantastic news, well done to you, and I say go for it, what on earth have you got to loose, be yourself, Michelle saw how much you loved the crafting business, we all know how much you love it and how fabulous your creations are, and like you said think of the extra pennies okay dollars!!! lol for doing something you absolutely love doing, wow, fabulous
That is one thing I totally lack the confidence to put myself out there and also to talk in front of a group of people. I don’t have a problem with a few people in an informal atmosphere, when I am in a shop and somebody asks me something lol no problem, but good grief put me in front of a group of people and I loose the plot, I tried Pampered Chef!!!! no no on wasn’t good, he he
You go for it xx
If I lived in NH I’d definitely take your classes, but it’s a long drive from TX to NH! You have such an amazing talent and an apparent love for your hobby that I think you should definitely give it a try. You seem to like a challenge and would probably wonder “what if?” if you don’t do it. You can always try it and then not do it again if you don’t feel comfortable or feel that your time was wasted. Good luck!
You totally have to go for it!!! What a fun opportunity. I love your designs and things on your blog and just reading what you’ve written I can tell you have an amazing personality. I would definitely take your classes if I was in the area. I used to be in Bedford but am in upstate NY now. If gas wasn’t nearly $4.00 a gallon I would even drive the 3 hours over there for a Saturday class – I’m always up for an adventure!!! In the words of Nike – JUST DO IT! 🙂
I had an oppurtunity to do a class at a LSS. It was fine and I enjoyed it but it was lot of my time put into the designing part. I think cards and or other crafts would be easier. I was doing a whole album. Since you already design so much on a daily basis I don’t think your design time will be much different. It can’t hurt to give it a shot. I surely enjoy your art you post on your blog. If I was near by I would take the class no matter what it was. I just like your style. Good luck I think you will perfect for the job. Cynthia
Girl, If I lived anywhere near NH, I would take your classes and bring everyone with me. Ever think of coming to Texas?! I was given the same opportunity in a town about an hour from my house – and I tried it. But, of course, I needed to use products from her store. Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I guess I’ve gotten spoiled with the way all our products coordinate. I spent nearly a whole afternoon trying to put together projects without using products that are exclusively Stampin’ Up! (like some of our punches) and/or that she had in the store. But, I’m ever so glad that someone thought enough of my work to make the offer and that I gave it a shot. You have more talent in your little finger than I have, so do it if it’s your desire – don’t miss the opportunity because you’re afraid.
I say go for it!!! They will love you there as much as we love you in blog land. I’m not close enough to attend. But if I was, I would go to every one of them. Have a great time! Angelina
Lauren I would totally try it! And if you are still doing it when I go home to Boston to visit my Dad I may have to drive up to take a class!! I get home lots these days. I love your blog and all your creations are wonderful! I think go for it try it once and if you do not like it you move on! Jessie:)
Oh, Lauren. I can’t believe you didn’t just jump on this! If you are concerned about people coming, set a minimum for the class to be held. I think you will be surprised with the response. Let me tell you, if I lived there, and you were teaching one of your uber cool projects, I would be there. Go for it, girl!
I say gooo for it! If I lived in NH I would, unfortunately I live across the country in UT but this is perfect for you. You are so good at teaching all of us on your blog it wouldn’t be much different, you would just have a live audience. I am jealous of those who will be able to learn from you in person!!
Yeah, you should totally go for it! I live on the other side of the country, so I can’t take your classes. If I lived nearby, I’d go to every single one! There’s no way you can fail. You are uber talented. Just do it! 🙂 Congratulations!
NH? I wonder if my husband and kids would mind moving? Failure? What about SUCCESS? If you don’t take the plunge you will never know. Do a trial period – a series of 3 or 5 classes. Once word gets around, I’m confident you’ll be sold out – after all I’m one of many that visit your blog every day – of course we would sign up for your class. Good luck.
Marta
Lauren,
I live in Manchester. I’ve been enjoying your work on a daily basis for months now, and as soon as you set the date, I’M THERE !!!! If it’s a day class and I’m scheduled to work that day, I’M CALLING OUT !!!!! (hahaha)
I’ve taken 2 classes at The Paper Tree and am looking forward to more.
Sure am hoping that you decide to go for it!
Ummm let me think about it…………. YEAH!
I live too far away but I would totally take one of your classes… heck I would take a class from you online! Distance stamping… fun!
Do it just be careful not to spread yourself too thin… nothing will suck the fun away faster then if you are spread too thin!
🙂
Dee
Hi,
I’ll come to one of your classes! I live an hour away in Mass. but it’d be so much fun. You’ll have to keep us posted!
there is nothing to fear but fear itself. You should take the jump. Set a minimum class size for eachclass. that way, you are not wasting your time. I would take a class from you. 🙂
Lauren~Yes take the plunge. Your tutorials are WOW and love your personality. If I lived near you, I would so be there to take your classes…Wish Texas was closer..I think you would be perfect for teaching this craft we all love…chris
Yes go for it. Far too far for me to visit and the air fare would put me off but you certainly explain things well, have plenty of talent and great ideas – so what is stopping you? If it doesn’t work out and you feel it takes too much time at least you tried it!
I think you should MOVE to Seattle and teach classes here…then I’d be at every one!!! You could teach your baby onesie bouquet and the class would be overbooked for years out!
–Tammy
I can say that I would come in a heartbeat….if I didn’t live in Ohio. It would be an honor for me to sit in the same room with you and to learn from you…holy cow! I stalk your blog for updates and if I lived anywhere near you….I would be there. You already have yourself out there for the whole internet…what are you afraid of? I am sure there are people from the West Coast that would come to a class if you were teaching in California or Washington. You are a wonderful person and you will do a wonderful job at this.
I say go for it. And I have an even neater idea for the people who live far away who can’t make the trip and post it on your blog. Video tape it. I think you would have fun at it. But check if she may give you supplies to work with? As my grandma always said do what makes you happy.
Also when did you stop being a demonstrator? I thought you were superwoman. 3 kids plus the web, magazines, and demonstrator.
Talk it over with your hubby. He will help you.
You should do it for sure. I think it would be fabulous and so what if it “fails” a bit according to your expectations, this door opening will most likely lead to another door and another. Plus, who doesnt love EXTRA money?? IF Minnesota wasn’t so far, I would SO come, especially to a class for your ULTRA cool 3D stuff or unique cards that move, I love that kind of stuff! Congrats and can’t wait to see what you decide!
DO IT. At least once – and if you don’t like it then don’t continue – but take the plunge and give it a shot b/c I KNOW you will do well.
Heck if I didn’t live a zillion miles away from you I’d attend!! Seriously!!
*smooches*
Go for it, girlfriend! You’ll never know unless you try! I’m sure you’ll be terrific, and who knows where it could lead? And if you decided you don’t want to do it again, you won’t have to. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? Keep us posted!
Life’s too short Lauren…go for it!!! And if I didn’t live 6000 miles away I’d be the first in line to take one of your classes. From reading your blog and seeing all your projects I don’t think you’d fail at anything you do…you’re an inspiration to us all. I get exhausted reading your blog…you’re like a whirlwind lol!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!
For sure! You have everything going for you – enthusiasm, know-how, experience, confidence, etc. Have a blast! Diane
I’d take all of your classes if I were closer too. I love your ideas and I think you’d be great at it.
Last year I went to a grand opening of a small lss. While I was there a customer asked if they were hiring. They said no but were looking for teachers. I ended up going to my car to get some of my samples to show them (I was on my way to a friends house to stamp) and they liked my work and asked me to teach. I gave it a try. It was slow at first since they didn’t have too many customers yet. I stuck with it and now have a loyal following. I now teach 2 -3 classes there a month, have made tons of new friends, got to play with new products for free, get discounts and have made some extra $ for more stamps. I hope this encourages you to give it a try.
Go for it Lauren. If I lived in the area I would totally come to your classes. Your ideas are great. Good luck 🙂
Should I open the door? Should I take the plunge and attempt a class? My first one would be a project I design, using the Scor-Pal! I love that thing.
+++++++++YES!!!+++++++++++++
Do you live in the area?
+++++++ I do!+++++++++++++
Would you attend one of my classes if you could?
++++++How soon can I sign up??++++++++
My issue is failure. I don’t want to jump and not know where I am jumping too. I also don’t like wasting my time.
++++++Lauren, I can totally see you teaching a class! You do such a fantastic job here on your blog and creations are magnificent! Go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You won’t fail, and you won’t be wasting your time. I think this is a fantastical opportunity for you!+++++++++++++
Lauren, YES, YES, YES. Especially if you did Saturday’s I’d be there. I have trouble driving at night so I would hesitate only for that reason. DH and I just had the conversation the other day about the scor-pal and that I’d like it for Mother’s Day. Figured I’d wait to see if I can get it at CKC in Manchester. So yes, teach it and I will come. 🙂 On a seperate note, I called Concord peds and changed my kids over on Friday. Thanks for the advice on that awhile ago.
See?! I told you your blog readers would beat down the door to attend a class that you did! Oiy, you so underestimate your charisma and your contageous entheusiasm for paper crafting!
Just from the responses so far, sounds like a go to me!
I think you should go for it. You are obviously creative and talented. If you
enjoy imparting your knowledge and experience to others, teaching would be
great. Every new experience feels like a risk but the gains can be tremendous.
I am amazed at all you do while juggling your family already and this sounds
like it could be a benefit to you and the family.
Go for it you know you want to!!! I would love to take a class with you but the commute is a bit daunting we live in the far north west. Your enthusiasm and talent should be shared. You would be a big asset to the business (sales will sky rocket) because your enthusiasm is contagious. This would also give you time to be yourself not the mom or the wife and you will get paid for doing something you love —yahoo!!!! I don’t know about the getting stuff for the family part you will probably be lucky to get out of there having spent only your wages. Hubby doesn’t read these does he? Ann
If I lived in Nh i would be there texas is along way. You can do it, take the plunge your cards and 3D projects are great. Susan
Oh ya baby…go for it!!! I live in Alberta, so obviously I couldn’t attend, but if I ever manage to make it there, you bet I’d be there!! as far as what I would like to learn…absolutely anything at all would work just fine for me!! Go get ’em Lauren!!
Do you need to ask… you go girl… you’er simply the best … better than all the rest….
a winner before you begin.
take care
chriss x
Geez Louise!!! Lauren, only you would think you couldn’t teach a paper crafting class. Hello???? Yes, you’re a walking billboard for this obsession of ours because Christine is already sold out of that blasted floral punch book and I can’t stay ahead of the rest of your blog readers. Looks like I’ll be teaching myself how to make those silly flowers because I can’t find it on the left coast or online now. (rolls eyes)
Look, my friend, if I lived in NH I’d be in that class in a heartbeat. Heck, I’d already have been in your stamp room for personalized lessons already.
I would love to take one of your classes! Can you come to Hawaii Please???!!
Did you do something to your blog?? The print is soooo small I can’t read it! I can only read on google reader not when I click direst into your blog. Sorry for any typos, I can’t read it!
I would definitely go for it. Start out small and see how you like it and then add more classes as things go along. This sounds like a wonderful opportunity. Wish I lived close so I could come too. Congrats…..that’s very exciting!
Right now I wished I lived in NH. Put samples out of the classes you will be teaching ( I am a visual person. If Ilike what I see I will sign up. I always like what you put on your blog.) You won’t have enough room for everyone especially when word of mouth gets around about the great stamp instructor at the store. Go for it or you will always wonder “what if?” If your blogging starts to slip I will have to ask you to quit, however. Take care Lauren!
I would be psyched if you taught a class. I am new to stamping and recently attended a class on Copic markers and A Muse stamps at Michelle’s store. I read your blog every day (it’s one of the first websites I check every morning) and would love to attend one of your classes and learn from you.
If I lived in the area I would love to come to a class that you taught. I love all the projects you show on your blog and your tutorials are great. I think you should go for it.
If you teach it, I will come!!!! I live in MA, about 40 minutes from Manchester; I’d love to come to a class with you!
Your classes will be a sell-out! Who wouldn’t take them? Your designs are fabulous.
For once in my life I can say that I am proud to live in NH!!! And close to the Papertree to boot! Isn’t Michelle just great! She is just so nice, and genuinely appreciates her customers, getting them exactly what they want. If you teach Lauren I will come, and bring friends. I love reading your blog and seeing the new things that you come up with. It would be a pleasure to be able to learn from you live in person. So please teach Lauren…pretty please with a cherry on top….
Hi Lauren,
Just lurking and loving your blog until this point, but you should definitely do it if you can manage it. If you think that you will enjoy it and it will be worth your time (ie good compensation) and your husband will be fine with the kids, etc. I have been reading your blog for a few months now and have learned so much! My little family and I are thinking of moving to New Hampshire or MA in a few years and if I was there now I would definitely take a class from you! In the end whatever you decide will be the right choice for you!
Melissa
I think that this is a “no-brainer”! You are a gifted artisan, and given your blog tutorials and your personality that comes through it, I would say that you are also a gifted instructor! It sounds like the commitment required is what YOU make it…
I would definitely take one of you classes (well probably 10!), but too bad for me since I live in Toronto, Canada- perhaps a tad too far away!
Good luck in making your decision, but I say GO FOR IT!
Diane
Ok… I am totally jealous of anyone who says they live close enough to take one or all of your classes!!!!
I am already checking MapQuest out to see how far you really live from Pennsylvania. 😀 I am sure if there is something to hunt near you, I can convince my hubby to hunt it on the right Saturday!!!
No…seriously…I think you are amazing!! I would jump at the chance to take a few of your classes (actually all of them). I look so forward to getting an email that says you have posted more. You have been SUCH an insiration for my brand new hobby!! I think that you should at least try it and see how it works and fits into your life.
Hi Lauren,
If I lived in NH, I would definitely take your classes – I love your creations!!
You could always start teaching on trial for a month and see how you like it. I teach at a great shop in NJ and have found customers love classes showing them a new technique or how to use all the tools they have, coloring technique classes of any kind are always big. I used to teach a month class I called “Fab Five” We used 1 main stamp, or stamp set and made 5 cards – showing them that there is more then one way to use a stamp; many people see a sample card and think that is all they can do with the stamp – they love it when you show them many ways to use one stamp.
Just a few things that have worked at the shop I teach at.
I say, give it a try!! Wishing you the best,
Shari
I say… “GO FOR IT!” What do you have to loose??? Good luck! You’ll do great Lauren!
OMGosh Lauren! Go for it girl!!! To do something that you LOVE & earn money is a great thing! I sooooo wish I lived closer to NH. I live in Mass. but if we rent a condo again in NH I will take your class when I’m up there! You will fill those classes up so fast your head will spin. We who know your work know that you will be successful at filling your classes & once word gets out, you will be scheduling more classes. Good luck & keep us informed!
Hey Lauren,
I would love to learn from you in a class setting, no doubt about it. (I had PM’d you on the PTI forum several weeks back re: demo with SU.)
“Nothing ventured; nothing gained.” What do you have to lose? It is another way to network and get all the exposure you could want. If you find that it becomes too demanding of you, than make the adjustment accordingly. You have a lot of talent to share, and a lot of folks willing to learn from you.
The final decision is yours, of course, but do think about it.
My thought is you only live one life, why not do what pleases you. I teach 5-10 classes a month out of my home and love it. Every month I have more people come, and I’ve even added kids classes–I love it. You could always try it with the goal of doing it for 6 mos & if it doesn’t work out for you, at least you can say you tried. I think you would be great, and if I lived in the area I would come for sure!
Suzanne Dean
Go for it – for sure!! I am too far away to come but from looking at your blog I’d love to come if I were close by/ in the same country even – I’m sure that you will have lots of keen people and they will be greatly inspired!! Of course It’s your decision but I’m sure you’d be brilliant!
Looking forward to hearing what you decide and looking forward to seeing more of your blog too!!
Sammi
xxx
Of course you should try it. Set a timeframe for yourself, then at the end evaluate your feelings on continuing. No regrets, baby!!!
How totally awesome is that!!!! You should totally do it, you would be fantastic. If I lived in NH I would without question come to your class. You post so many wonderful projects and have tutorials on your blog any of those can end up in a class. You totally know how to take a product line and make loads of awesome things. Maybe the store owner wants to feature a certain product line through a class or demo. Check your schedule make sure it can work for you and your family and give it a shot!
Good luck can’t wait to hear what happens next!
Maria
YES!!! Unfortunately I don’t live even remotely close enough but if I did I would be there for sure! You have so much talent and people would love your classes, I know they would!
Hi Lauren,
Of course you should ‘go for it’. It’s the perfect thing for the talented person you are. Doing something you love, are incredibly good at and earning money too! What’s to think about?!! If anyone out there was willing to pay my fares from Australia I’d be at your classes like a shot – all of them 🙂
Sharon ( green with envy at the opportunity given to those lucky stampers in NH)
Plan a calss for Friday May 16th…you bet your sweet cheeks I’d be there! 😉 I’d bring 2 friends too!!
Seriously though – hey – why not? If you get the chance to make a couple of bucks (that you will likely donate right back to the store 😉 )I say go for it…oh – and you mentioned it’s in Manchester…guess I may have to stop there eh?
If it’s setting your own time frame and your own projects, I say go for it…just remember though, why you stopped being a SU demo…as long as you don’t think you’ll face the same issues (I know one of the was the want for other companies product, that wouldn’t be an issue here) …I say DO IT! 🙂
GO FOR IT! You would be great and if I lived close by, I would take every single one of your classes. Good luck with your decision.
In case you get this far in the comments, I think you should go for it — IF you don’t think it’s going to take too much of your time. I would take any class you taught at any time for nearly any price (reasonably speaking), and I’m usually a hard sell.
My favorite projects are the useful kind – gifts, altered items with a purpose, things like that. (Not that cards aren’t useful, but I think you know what I’m trying to get at …)
HTH!
I agree with everyone else — definitely do it! If you don’t like it after doing it a few times, then you can move on. But from reading your blog, I get the definite sense you would really love it!
Yes, Do It! I would love to take a class taught by you. I live in Alabama, though, and with gas prices as they are I don’t think I will be able to make it to NH. LOL
Go for it if it is something you would enjoy and have the time for it! You are a great teacher and very innovative and creative on your blog and if i lived closer–i would take you class in a minute.
I’m another fan of yours! And yes, I probably do live close enough to Manchester to make it a day trip (north shore, Massachusetts). I’d love to meet you and take a class from you! BTW, I’m asking my kids and my husband for a Scor-Pal for Mother’s Day! Jeanne
[…] […]
you HAVE decided to do this by now, haven’t you?! I mean, to have a job doing something that you love and to be able to work at it whenever you want?
wish you the best in your endeavors and wish I lived closer!
grins,
– SueB
I would love to be able to take classes from you. The only problem is don’t have a score pal and can’t afford one. Sad I know. I need one. Good luck and let me know what you decide.
You are kidding right!! Would I like to take a class from you. OHHHHHHH YEAH, DUHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Congratulations this sounds like a great opportunity and you will be fabulous at this. Your students will be so lucky to have you. DO IT DO IT DO IT.
I finally visited the store last week! Nice place and great paper selection!
I would definitely attend your class (if it was within my budget…). I am very selective of the classes that I take, but your projects are always awesome!
Manchester is a great location and I think you will have great response…
Hopefully you will be able to show us some sneak peeks of the class projects…
Hi Lauren,
I live in Amherst, NH and I would LOVE to attend ANY and ALL of your classes!!! Please keep me in the know ; )
Thanks,
Jenn
GO FOR IT!!! Don’t pass such an opportunity! 😀
You’ll be perfect and seriously, failure??? You??? With your fab projects??? You are kidding me!!
Maybe the first time there won’t be tons of people because they don’t know you, but once people get the word from friends who attended the first class your classes will be packed, seriously!
This is so exciting! I’m happy for you! 😀
As long as you want to do it, enjoy doing it once you start and it doesn’t take too much time away from your family life, I’d say go for it!
You have a gift and are an AMAZING stamper! To be able to see your talent in person would be an awesome opportunity! I would definitely go to all of your classes if I lived closer!
Good luck with your decision!
Lauren, Of course you should go for it!!! With your talent and enthusiam how can you go wrong. I used to teach at a stamping store in here and people just love to come and learn new ideas and with your personality you will probably have so many signed up you’ll have to teach extra classes!!! I used to live in Methuen, Ma and if I still did, I would be up in Manchester in a heartbeat. Good luck.
I would take ANY and ALL classes that you would teach. But ummm I hate to tell you – when you said you would be making extra money for the family? I disagree, bet your whole check goes right back into goodies from the store! hehehe
Sheri
I am so glad you decided to jump in. Since I live in New Jersey I wouldn’t be able to make it to classes unless I am visiting someone there, but I will tell you I teach classes and have been doing it for 2 years. Sometimes no one signs up and then there are times 7 or 8 sign up. Also since I am disable, have stage 4 recurring colon cancer, it gets me out of the house once a month to do something I love to do
Oh Lauren, what a wonderful opportunity! Of course you should go for it. What do you have to lose? If it doesn’t seem to be something you like you can stop after a few classes. I so wish I lived nearby. I’d be there for every class like one of your groupies! LOL!
Dear Lauren,
if I could, I would come to one of your classes…, but my way to you is too far! I come from Germany! But if I would live next to you, I would come! I love to see your cards! They are all great!!! Wishing you all the best!
Steffi
OH MY GOODNESS! You would be FABULOUS in teaching a class. You are so creative. So, I am certain you would make a great teacher for any class.
Man…I want to live near YOU! 😉 And if I did, I would sell my right eye to be in your class. Go for it.
And you would never be a failure. I think someone once said(clear throat-YOU) that “you can not fail if you don’t try”(referring to putting your items in a magazine).
I am proud of you.
YES, and YES, and YES. TFS
Lauren,
I would take the op, to do the classes. It would be great fun. I have a suggestion, make sure the stamps you use papers etc. are in the store. There is nothing worse than not being able to do something in a class. all you cards etc are great. Don’t over do it. Try one sat a month and see how it goes. Don’t stress and have fun. Please send me your snail mail….Dawn
Ok, I’m a little behind. Didn’t read this post until after I’d already read that you’re going to do it. You bet I’ll come – maybe not every month, but once in a while for sure! Can you teach me how to coordinate different patterns in paper and ribbon?
You should definately GO FOR IT! If I was close enought I would be there and several of the other people I ink with would be too! You have soooo many ideas and are so creative! The first class is always the hardest, because lots of the people taking the class will be iffy since they don’t know you or your talents. Once they see you at work, it will be a hit! So again, GO FOR IT!
OH MY!! HOw exciting!!! how could you even possibly doubt yourself??? You have amazed and inspired every single person who visits your blog!!! I myself visit everyday and you never cease to amaze me!!! This is the only time in my life that I wish I lived in NH!! LOL.
Good luck and I can’t wait to see all your great projects!

Go for it!! If I could afford it I’d pay airfare to come to your class! 🙂 Your talent truly amazes me.
GO FOR IT!! I’d come to every class you taught! 🙂 Your enthusiasm here not “in person” is evident and contagious… I can only imagine what it must be IRL, and hope to actually find out some day!
Go for it! I will take any class with you, to bad that I live to far from you. It’s a bless to work in something that you enjoy.
If I lived anywhere near there I would attend a class! I have a friend who lives in Manchester and I told her if you started teaching she HAD to take your class!
DEFINITELY would take one or ten of your classes. I wish I was close to the area. If it goes well, please come to KY and teach a class.
Wow! I am stopping at the Paper Tree on Wed! I am psyched! I only know you through your blogging – but you are a perfect match teaching at the Paper Tree with Michelle! You bet your booty I will be there!
Are you kidding me? You silly girl! Who wouldn’ t want to take one of your classes? (I am hearing nothing but silence!) I would probably drive from Cincy, OH to take one of your classes! Anyone wanna carpool to NH for Lauren’s class? 😀
GO FOR IT!!!! WOOHOO! CONGRATULATIONS, GOOD FOR YOU!
Yes, it may be a little intimidating, but how will you feel about yourself if you let this opportunity pass you by??! You can do it! Keep us posted…
I am faced with the same dilemma. My local (110 miles away round trip) SS is asking me to give a class. I gave one class there once a couple of years ago. This is a new owver and very nice. Since I work full-time and live so far away I was rather reluctant to give up my weekend time with my hubby. But I caved. Wish me luck. My fear is that no one will be interested and I will have to cancel the class!LOL! May 10th for my first one. She wants me to teach whenevre I can. Good Luck with yours! You do such fabulous work I’m sure it will be great!
Silly, you’re certain to be a success! Definitely GO FOR IT!! Doing something that you LOVE….AND getting paid for it…what could be better?!!
The owner will do the advertising…how well are her classes typically attended? Be sure to hang a flier advertising your next class and maybe have the shop owner make a bunch of copies to insert in all bags with purchases. Can’t hurt!
You may begin with a small following, but with your enthusiasm, knowledge, and creativity, your classes are sure to be sold out in no time!
Sadly, I don’t live close enough to consider coming, but I’d be there in a heartbeat if I did!! I envy those that live close enough to attend!!
…and what would I like to learn? Anything! But why not begin with birthday cards, thank you cards, or occasion cards?
Barbara
Girlfriend, are you kidding???
Let me tell you my story (I promise to keep it short!LOL!)….
I, like you, hate failure! So I started this stamping/blog thing in September last year. I applied for several design teams without luck, so this was the next best thing.
I got into the swing of things in the bloggin’ world….then my LSS had a sudden opening. The girl who left did alot of classes/projects. I thought – WOW!! Work and do what I love (day job is BORING ACCOUNTING!!- just to add the drama effect). So I’m available 2 nights and Saturdays – great! Just the amount of time I have available in my life. I did ponder it awhile, asked DH (who doesn’t REALLY understand), but not too long. Then when I got my “feet wet” at the store, I said, “Hmmmm, I think I’ll try doing a class!” Me- right! I was encouraged by the gals there and so I did it! I was definitely nervous! It went off without a hitch, well, maybe a small one, but learning is part of life – right? I love doing it and am glad I took the plunge!
I don’t have nearly as much talent as you do and I know you will hit the ground running.
I wish you courage – It will be GREAT, you’ll see!!! I wish I lived there because I would take every class you had!
**HUGGS**
GOOD LUCK!!
Go for it Lauren! You are too talented to let this one pass you by :).
I don’t live in your area but if I did I sure would sign up. I think it would be fun, not only to learn something but just to hang out with you. You have such a great outlook on life – maybe some of that would rub off on me! Go for it girl!
I know you’ve already decided to do this, and I just wanted to say congratulations!! You’ll be fantastic!!
