Checkin in late tonight. Quick post I wanted to share.
I have heard so many people say-what makes a card from go OK to WOW!?
Well it can be the littlest of things.
I decided to show you how adding sometimes the simpliest of details, can really help step-up your creation.
Here is the first card-which I made using C.C. Designs It’s my birthday.
Paper is by K & co.
It’s cute right? But something is MISSING!
I am a big advocate for DIMENSIONALS!!! NO FLAT CARDS!! Unless they are one layer. I use them on about every card I make. Look how “flat” this looks.
This most likely would have ended up scrapped, or never shared. But I re-vamped it a bit. So it is now a keeper.
Here is the stepped up version:
Ah! Now that is better! All I did is add some ribbon-pop up my sprinkles layer, and my main image. Added some ribbon. Then I put a cute sentiment going around the corner!
This is the same card as above-I just pulled the top layer up, and added the touches I told you.
See the difference?
Don’t get me wrong-sometimes simple is best-but there is such a thing as perfectly embellished too.
I hope you try this out. Mess around and take your card up to a WOW! By practicing this you will get better and better at embellishing your creations.
Try to keep it balanced, and DONT over do it OK!
I say take a photo of the “PRE” stepped up one first, then take one of the finished product like I did here.
Well Im off. I have a ton of stamping I want to get done. I challenged my self to use some new goodies, so I will be back to post later 😀
I really need to get my butt in gear, and get my tutorials that I want to share done too. Plus some other tid bits of stuff here and there. You know how it is.
OK, till then-and thanks for stopping by and saying HI 😀
Lauren

Nice! Very cool way to demonstrate how to make your cards pop. I just adore this stamp set too. Have a nice night. – MollyB
You are so right. They are both great but the stepped up one is amazing!
Thanks for the info your card, it is amazing that just by adding a little something makes such a big difference.
well, I think the card is cute both ways, but the added embellishments really do add so much. I love your coloring Lauren. You are getting to be an expert at that!
Thanks for the demo Lauren. Those extra touches really made a difference. This is such a cute card, great job!
Glad I’m not the only one addicted to dimensional adhesive! lol Great cards! I love that little pup and had to order him Friday. Can’t wait for him to get here!
Glad I’m not the only one addicted to dimensional adhesive! lol Great cards! I love that little pup and had to order him Friday. Can’t wait for him to get here! Of course, he didn’t want to be lonely and I had to get the chicks, too! Have a great night!
Thanks for showing me that—I have been stamping for awhile now, but I never seem to hit that “WOW” factor—what adhesive do you use that allows you to take it apart and not tear anything? Thanks again for all your great ideas! I am always inspired to try something new here!
Personally, this card is just darling both ways, but I totally agree that those little details add a whole lot to a card. There have been several I’ve just put a thing or two, popped up one image and changed the whole outlook. Then, I’ve learned an awful lot from you too. :0
I am so glad I came back tonight to check in. Thanks for the info on making a WOW!!! card. I rarely feel like my card says WOW!!!
Great tip. Keep up the great work and thanks for the help any other ideas would be great. I do enjoy your work.
Yup, the ribbon did it! Although, I liked the first one too. What a cute set, btw. Thank you so much for your little hints and ideas – they’ve really helped me.
Big Springtime hugs,
Renee
Great example of an improved card!!! Isn’t it amazing what some dimensionals and ribbon can do?? Love the sentiment, too! Hope you are having fun stamping!!! 😀
What an adorable card! Amazing what a few extra touches does! I love all the papers you used! Very festive!
You are amazing Lauren! I loved the first card and then when I saw the little extra touches you added it amazed me! Thanks for continuing to be such a wonderful inspiration.

Thanks for showing more is more with this card! It’s fantastic and really did change the look of it! I just got all my free winning stamps yesterday from Christine! Can’t wait to use them!
very cute, I especially liked the sentiment stamped at the corner!
you are so awesome with you tips. from my last post I forgot to mention how hitting that “flower thingy” (macro) on the camera is awesome!
I hear you about popping out your card. I use my pop dots alot! On your first card here my first thought was it was missing something on the bottom like ribbon 🙂
BTW I love the Images. You really have to stop enabling me I can’t keep ordering! LOLOL!!!
Cute card and the step up really made the difference! TFS and showing how to step it up a notch. I with I had read this before I mailed you package, LOL.
Good demo. I do have to say the improved card looks better. Not saying the first card is bad, but I do like the second one alot.
Once again you have shown us how just a little thought can make a good card a great card! Since I have started monitoring your BLOG, I have used up my old stash of Pop Up’s; Dimensionals and other things to elevate my layered images. Makes all the difference in the world. You are awesome!
Hey Lauren!
Thanks for sharing that with us. And thanks for saying to not go over-board. Which some cards I have seen (not yours) with way more than it needed.
And just that added bit really does make a different.
I just love your coloring, and the colors you chose on this card. And you’re right, it’s the little details that make the difference! 😉
Ohhh, I just ordered these stamps. I can’t wait to get them. I have a really hard time doing this type of card with pp. I tried to recreate it. Hope you don’t mind. Go tay a look and tell me the truth. I know the coloring is not real good, but just want your honest opinion….dawn
Both cards are wonderful, but the vamped up card is definitely better! Thanks so much for taking the time to show those of us who don’t have your creativity, what it takes to make a WOW card! I really appreciate all the time it must take you to create your wonderful tutorials!
