That is it. I am banning myself from buying ONE more piece of patterned paper! Not ONE! (I didn’t say cardstock-just patterned). I have an addiction to pretty papers, but obviously don’t use them as often as I buy them.
Today I was on the hunt for a CERTAIN piece of patterned paper, and for the life of me I could NOT find it. I keep all my PP together in a 12 X 12 stackable drawer container. What I THOUGHT was very organized.
Well, since I couldn’t find the ONE piece I wanted, I decided I needed to RE-ORGANIZE -ALL OF IT! Yes, I re-organize my stuff pretty often. It is vital to knowing/using what you have, and weeding out stuff you no longer have a taste for. Heck, sometimes (like today) it’s like you went shopping again. I found some CUTE stuff Iforgot I had. Plus its part of my OCD.
My other problem-WHY did all my paper fit BEFORE it was organized, and after I organized it didn’t fit so well? Now that is ODD.
Anyway-I may as well share the card that caused me 2 hours of an organizing frenzy, when I should have been making Wedding invites. Its amazing what we will do to NOT do something else isn’t it?
I wish!
I love this large Elzybell-girl on a swing (from UK site which is under construction :C). See her feet dangling off the edge-CUTE!
EDITED TO ADD:
The Elzybell’s from A Muse are much smaller, so make sure you check the sizes before you buy them 😀 If you purchased her from A Muse she would be MUCH smaller.
This one is from the original Elzybell’s designer in the UK.
Her images are much bigger. A Muse basically picks what they want, then shrinks them down.
Some are super cute tiny some are super cute big. Just wanted you to know to check the sizes 😀
I am sending someone some images of her, and had to make a card to match. Needless to say-I was still frustrated over my paper woe’s so had a hard time working out a layout. Oh well. It’s a but unbalanced to me-but that’s life. I didn’t want to wait on sending it any longer. I do like that I used different colors that I normally would.
I loved this paper, and wanted to use ot for this card. I only bought ONE sheet (no, not today, a while ago)! It’s by Imaginesce.
THAT PAPER IS WHAT CAUSED MY TIZZY!!! Was it really worth it? Not sure yet. Maybe next time when I can actually find that ONE piece I am looking for.
I’m not fabulous at 51/2 square cards either, so that didn’t help my cause.
Anyway-She looks cute. I colored her with my Copic’s. Punches are the Punch a Bunch one’s that ATS will get in soon!!! Ribbon is May Arts.
Hope you all have a great day! Im locking mysef in my stamp room while the kids are at school and PRAYING I finish the Wedding invites TODAY! I have ton’s of fun things I WANT to do, and until this is over with, I don’t feel FREE to do so.
Later!
Lauren

Fabulous card Lauren! Luv the DP & the legs dangling down, the colors are beautiful!
I said the same thing a week ago about not buying paper for awhile, till I get my stash down. I have too much paper that I bought 3 years ago for scrapping & need to use on cards in order to get rid of it, my taste has changed since then. Hehehe!!!
Adorable little card, I really like it! You sound just like me – I reorganize alot and it is mostly because I am procrastinating about something. But I do find things I forgot that I had. Paper is very addictive, I agree with you there! I have a ton and buy more way too often. Maybe I will swear off buying any more for a while, I have to have every color known to man by now!
I think you can get the Elzybells from A Muse stamps. I just purchased my first one! Love your work, thanks.
wonderful card looks a little difficult to do. But wow what a result. thanks for sharing
Cynthia
Adorable card!
So, how long will this self-imposed ban last, and am I expected to hold you to this the next time we go shopping? LOL!
Hope you get the invitations done today!
This is super cute. I like the square cards but then hate that I don’t have the clear envy’s that size to store them! (i get the “regular” sized from SU) Good luck with the invites. I had a friend ask me to make 2 wedding cards for her, I have to get thinking about that one.
great card Lauren!!! all i can say is i wish i could totally reorganize my scrappin-stampin place in only 2 hours!!!!! hehehe!!!! you are far more organized than i…it would take me days to reorganize my crap! thanks for sharing your creations and your stories!
Adorable card! Love how her feet are hanging down! Way too cute!
Good luck on the paper ban….. I wonder how long that will last? LOL You crack me up.
Good luck finishing up your invites. Big hugs to everyone!
What a sweet, sweet card! I love those colors together. I too, have a patterned paper addiction, and have just given in to it:D I figure there are worse things to be addicted to! The other day I came home from HL complaining about spending $50 on paper products (meaning all of the plates, cups and napkins for my son’s birthday). My DH never missed a beat and said, “How much did you spend all together?” I was confused and said, “I just told you $50!” He laughed and thought that by paper products I meant paper for my hobby:) He was pretty proud of me that I only bought the birthday stuff and nothing more!
Have a great day Lauren!
this card is too cute and love that DP. You keep you in ONE container, oh my I have about 5 paper keepers full of pattern paper, but not buying any more nope, not buying any more.
I think she is really nice. The paper is beautiful. -Molly B
That girl is adorable and I love how you cut her out of the box!!! Fabulous! You know I think I have ONE sheet of that paper too but I’m pretty sure I bought the striped paper that goes with it….will have to check now….you got me thinkin’….I know…frightening….haha!
Hope you get your invites done!! Good luck with that!
Oh I missed Elzy!…. 🙂
Your card is pretty as spring, I don’t know what bugs you in it, I don’t see the un-balance you mention…
I have a hard time resisting pattern paper too, but I usually fuel my addiction at the $1 spot at target (12 12X12 sheets for $1, you cannot beat that!) it’s not the most beautiful ones but it doesn’t break the bank! LOL
I have been dying to find some nice cherry blossom paper lately but the local scrap store just closed! She wasn’t even open a year, I guess the competition of big chains was too much…
Good luck with the repetitive work of the weeding invites… 🙁
She is just too cute, and that paper is perfect your pink tag brings out the pink flowers and the punched flower is so pretty and matches perfectly with your paper also, love how you cut out her feet..too cute.
This is such a cute and sweet card! And I too am on a pattern paper ban, I have far too much!
Good luck with the wedding invites!
It WAS worth it, I assure you–adorable card!
FABULOUS CARD!!! I just love the larger Elzybells, I am impatiently awaiting for the site to get back up! It’s killing me! At least I do have a few of them I ordered some months ago…and of course the little ones that A Muse has, too…
Good luck getting your invitations done today, I know you will be relieved when they are finished! 😀
Oh fabulous card! Love the dp…great choice and I’m glad you found it! So the UK is where they are hiding all of the larger images? I love the Elzy’s but a bit bigger is better sometimes! I will have to check that out! Great card!
I think it was well worth the search…the DP goes so nicely with the flowers in the image. Great card.
Charmaine
It’s beautiful…not off balance at all! Love her dangling feet…so sweet!
i do like the paper though tee hee. I have enough to fill 2 iris cards of PP yet I usually can’t bring myself to use any. I may be passing them down to my great grandchildren at this rate (my kids are only 8&11) tee hee
She is adorable! I love the paper and cutting out the lower portion of her legs gives her such dimension. It looks like a PERFECT spring day. TFS.
I forgot to mention you first card in yesterday’s post…it is soooooo pretty. The simplicity is wonderful and I love the colors. TFS.
I was wondering if you will post the website for stamp at a later date? I love the card. Those are the kind of stamps I lack. I do have sketches (su stamps). But that is about it.
Lauren – Yes, it was worth it. I love, love, love the Elzybells images. And love this card. Here is a link to get them in the U.S. They are sold through AMuse – http://elzybellsna.typepad.com/my_weblog/ – and they have this girl on the swing. Uh, oh, did I just cause a problem? LOL.
Yeah, I say the same thing. Never gonna buy another piece of PP. Will never happen. But I did start to organize all my stamps – maybe miracles do happen. Now if I could just update my blog!! Grrr.
Keep up the great work and blog.
Michael in NYC
oooooh…That is pretty patterned paper!
Surely worth digging for…lol
Your card came out Fabulous!!!
I do love that ElsyBell-girl stamp!
So sweet with those feet dangling.
Perfect colors…nicely colored!!
Lucky you..lots to choose from.
I never have enough patterned paper..
I try to buy a few at a time…then
end up running out to buy some more
for a certain project.
*Good Luck with finishing those invites!
and Have a great day!!
I totally understand the addiction to printed paper!!! I am fairly new, so I am still hoarding everything I buy. If I use it, I won’t have it anymore, so I have to buy more to use…. I am sure that there is logic some where in there. Love your blog, it has been a great inspiration!!!
Love love love the card!!!! Too cute!!
Hope you get your invites done. I am working on 40ish baby onesie shower invites inspired by “YOU” of course!! That pattern “ROCKS”!!!
This card is adorable! It almost makes me feel like a little girl again! I know what you mean about patterned paper. I’m an addict too! And OCD too! I can relate to the absolute need to be organized. I can tell you what I did with my patterned paper. I got a few of those stand up type paper holders (forgot who makes them but all the craft stores have them) I didided them by subjects-summer/beach, baby girl & girls, baby boy & boys, fishing (for my understanding husband) then Christmas, easter, Halloween, etc (the holidays) and that seems to work very well for me. You can tune it to your subjects. I also did my stickers that way using the File Mate from Creative memories. When I need a sticker-I just go to that section-like beach/summer, and pull out the folder and flip through my stickers. Very organized, very helpful, and other people at crops thought it was a good idea too!
I think the patterned paper was worth looking for… it just looks great together!
She is so cute.
I understand your addition to pattern paper,
I keep buying more and more.
I too have to look and look for a piece
of paper I know I have but can’t seem to locate.
Love your blog,full of inspiration!!
Bloggers, please visit my blog and take part in my blogoversary to win some candy!!

Love this Elzybell card. The feet hanging down really makes this card for me. I so wish they sold the bigger images in the US. I finally saw them in person a couple of weeks ago and was disappointed at how small they really are.
Please, please, please come over to my house and organize my paper. I tried a few days ago – I am just not very good at it. I get bored and just start shoving it into folders and then can never find that piece I was looking for. I also have a paper buying addiction. I will go into a store and SWEAR that I am not going to buy any pp and end up leaving with LOTS…but honey, it was on sale! LOL
Very lovely Lauren!!! Love your dp and that stamp is oh so cute!!!
I LOVE YOUR SITE! YOUR CARDS ARE AMAZING. I CAN’T FIGURE OUT HOW YOU GET SO MUCH DONE WITH A YOUNG FAMILY. HOW DO THE COPIC MARKERS COMPARE TO SU MARKERS? I HAVE SEEN MENTION OF THEM ALOT AND WAS WONDERING IF THEY ARE WORTH THE EXPENSE SINCE I ALREADY HAVE SU MARKERS. WHICH SET WOULD YOU SUGGEST TO START WITH. ALSO WHAT COLOR(S) DO YOU LIKE FOR CAUCASION SKIN?
Adorable card. Not off balance BTW. So love the Elzybell’s and have a bunch of the holiday ones. Wish Amuse had them available in the larger sizes! Can’t wait for the punches. They look very 3d.
Very pretty as usual. That dp was definitely worth the hassle of finding it.
Hey Lauren, wish I was close by so I could help you with those wedding invites! I just finished 20 birthday invitations for a 12-year old girl, who wanted “jeans and music”. It was a challenge for me, as I only have one son, and he’s 27 now. I’m out of touch with 12-yr.olds! I finally picked the bellas (they have a little attitude), and she loved them. Bet you’re doing a lot more than 20, though. Thanks again for your site, I dearly love the girl’s dangling legs!!!!
I have an issue with pp myself. I had tons of it. I went and gave 300+ sheets away. I had to do it. I could not enjoy what I had untill I made it an amount I could see. I then stopped buying it, UNLESS I was going to use it within a day. And I stuck to it. If I buy one sheet ’cause it’s a must have I use it asap. NO more sitting and collecting dust. I love the card. I need some of those images, she is darling. I also wanted to tell you I am doing a walk for down syndrom and sat and raised 350 bucks..woo hoo….Have a Blessed day!! Dawn
Oh my gosh! Is that the cutest thing ever? Hey, at least you have patterned paper to match WHATEVER.
I love the card… I wish that we could buy them in the larger size.. the a muse stamps are just to small…… I get too frustrated with them… although, having said that the Elzys are still in my top three favorites!
What a cute card! What did you use to punch your holes across the bottom of your scalloped edge? It’s so even and staight!! 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
Amanda
