3-D Daisy in the Dog House!

MYTIME MAIL—->HERE!!<—-

daisy-in-the-doghouse.jpg Daisy in the doghouse

OMG! I cannot even tell you how FUN this card was to do! LOL!

I have NEVER done anything like it before.

I told you that I wanted to make a special card for Kathie, for the Daisy book she made me –>HERE

I wanted it to be as special, and as awesome as her book. OK so it won’t be AS awesome as her book, but still  heartfelt, and a thought out thank you, so I hope she likes it.

I wanted to do another “shaped” card. But didn’t want to duplicate my Hydrant, and I did do a Dog Bone shaped one a while ago, that got published.

Here it is-

mytime-doggy-treat-paper-made-easypg-52-june-2007.jpg Paper Made Easy- June 2007 pg 52

BUT, I struggled, cause I wanted to give her something with a photo of Daisy.

Plus I am HUGE on making every card SPECIAL!

Then the LIGHT BULB went off!

I took a photo of Daisy that I felt could be cut up, and made 3D! I printed off 4 of the same photo. It was a 4×6 size. I then began cutting and layering her head! She is just as cute in a 3D photo! LOL! It made it POP out at you like she was right there.

I originally had her standing-like in the photo. Then I thought, how cool it would be for her to be sitting in a dog house?

So I got my coluzzel and cut a 1/2 oval using Bazzil textured cardstock. I had layered the colluzzel over her head to figure the correct size.

Then onto the roof.

The bone and sentiment are from Puppy Love by CTMH (I swear I LOVE that set SOOOO much-same set used for the hydrant card).

It came together relatively fast. About 45 minutes. Not too bad.

Doodlebug paperfrills were used on the roof-and for the grass.

I think it is SO cute!

Jason said it needed MORE. HELLO! Her head POP’s right out at you! What MORE do you need?

You have to know when to STOP sometimes.

I think I’m going to try MORE photo 3 -D cards!

Although I think you can cross a line between cute to CREEPY! Maybe stop while I’m ahead! LOL!

Thanks for looking.

Till Tomorrow-

Kids room’s re-done

Mar 24, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Smilebox Creations, Uncategorized

Manic Monday! That’s going to be my new way to greet them! LOL!

MYTIME MAIL is posted below-don’t miss the chance!

Well I decided to put the kids room’s into a Smilebox-since there were a decent number of photos.

Just click it to view. Its a fun, and interactive way to share/view photos. AND, since I don’t scrapbook-its PERFECT and fast. I LOVE fast!

Now like I said-its NO Pottery Barn catalog-but the kid friendly version of a room 😀 If it was TOO gorgeous they wouldn’t be allowed to play in there! LOL!

It also went from “little kid” to sort of “bigger kid”

Noah even said to me “Mom I’m not a baby anymore. You need to get rid of my baby pictures and Noah’s ark stuff. That is ridiculous!”

WHAT?!!! I was in shock! So now all his “baby” photos and his “unapproved back in his room items” and stuff is in his closet :C. Only big boy stuff was allowed. I did get a TINY Noah Ark theme in ONE little corner-YEAH!

The kids helped with everything! They washed baseboards, window’s, dusted, moved toys from their room, chose where stuff was going. ALL of it. Except the painting.

It was great to get them involved. I didn’t think they would care to help, but they loved it! Plus having them involved allowed me to spend more time getting it done. Every person who comes over now has to go see it.

The other day UPS came to deliver a package, and Noah was like “Hey-you want to come see my room?”

Ugh-Noah-we don’t invite stranger’s into the house-remember? GEESH!

Anyway-

They feel proud that they picked where things are and helped with the process.

We have not yet re-sanded/re-finished the real hardwood floors yet, or gotten our new area rugs for each room. The girls still need their headboards as well.

You will see 2 princess picture’s. My friend Erin (the one I made the baby bouquet for) made them for the girls!!! Its all fabric pieced! She did a “Car’s” movie themed one for Noah, but Disney has strict “rules” so I dont want to get her in trouble. She said I wasn’t allowed to post that one-but let me tell you it ROCKS!!!

I told her she needs to start an Etsy Store. People would love to buy them. She’s quite crafty.

There are few other items I want/need to add, but didn’t yet. Gotta sneak in those purchases in slowly, so Jason’s blood pressure doesn’t go to Holy Crap!! over OH MY GOSH!!! (get it? instead of saying like 168/100).

BUT since you asked, and it will probably be at least another month till the floors/carpet are done-and I complete the little extra touches-so figured I’d share now.

My girls room is pretty big so it took a lot for me to do.

Keep in mind I did it ALL by myself.

That is moving every item of furniture OUT of the room, painting, decorating, and all that fun stuff.

Jay did help with the closets (each room has a huge walk in closet-the length of their room), and it was to the point that if someone broke into our house-we would not fit in there to hide! LOL!

My house is pretty clean-but my closets are always a disaster! I have no idea WHY I have closet HATE. But I do! I just hate dealing with them.

OK that was alot more babble than I planned-SHOCKING I know.

Here it is.

Thanks for looking.

Let’s CREATE!!! Pretty Paper Flowers

Mar 23, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Home decor/3-D items, Tutorials

flower-of-kindness.jpg Kindness

Happy Easter everyone!

Hope you have a wonderful day with family and friends, or doing whatever else it may be that you have planned.

I don’t have an Easter card! GASP!! But, I do have a tutorial that I  have been asked to do, in it’s place.

Before we begin don’t miss your chance to enter the MYTIME MAIL—>HERE<—!! I will now draw the winner Tuesday.

Many of you contacted me, in response to my Pretty Paper Flower Favor, asking HOW did I make my paper flowers.

Well I am SO happy you enjoyed it, and are wanting to make your very own. It was VERY easy!

So here we go!

For the SMALL photo’s click to enlarge! Sorry but I only get so much room to post with :C.

Now I know this is going to most likely sound “info-mercial-ish”, but I assure you, its my HONEST opinon and I’m not getting paid! LOL! I just LOVED this book. I would recommend it to anyone.

table-favor-book-tut.jpg Pretty Paper Flower Favor

I bought this amazing book-well more of a magazine with step-by-step directions on HOW to use different shaped punches and shapes, to create paper flowers!

You can use them on cards, boxes, bags, frames, and all sorts of gifts.

I wanted to do a paper flower favor for myPapertrey Ink project’s when I came across this book!

The Paper Garden Summer Blooms collection by Susan Tierney Cockburn

I got my book from —->HERE

I LOVE creating paper flowers, and own MANY punches. This was SOOOOO up my alley!

The directions are clear, and very easy to follow. Each step includes a photo as well, so I truly believe ALL skill levels can create these flower bouquet’s, with this book.

book-and-punches.jpg Here is a photo of the page I used to create my Papertrey Paper Flower favor. I adapted my flower to suit my needs, and match my project.

I say feel free to take creative liberty!

You can see it clearly shows you the punches you need, as well as supplies. Each step has a photo so you know you are doing it correctly.

The neat thing is if you purchased some of the recommended punches, like I did, they are used in numerous flower’s through the book! So that is really cool too. You would be surprised at what you can do with some of the shapes.

It cost $15.25, and to me was well worth every penny. There are several series,  each feature different types of flowers. So make sure you get one that YOU feel you will most likely use.

My book here features directions on how to make the following flowers:

Buddlegja* Dahlia* Daisy* Geranium* Hydrangea* Lily* Magnolia* Nasturtium* Rose* Sunflower

These are some of my favorite’s, and upon viewing the book, you can certainly adapt a lot of the ideas 😀

Now for HOW I made my flowers!

I used the following punches

punches.jpg A star-burst, A Pear, and a leaf punch. I then added my SU! punch.

I then looked at my stamped flower from Boxes, Bags & Tags, and created the same number of petals.

I used Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush & Spring Moss-cardstock & ink for this collection

color-petals.jpg PUNCHED-6 petals, 2 leaf’s, 1 star burst, and one mini SU! flower.

1-You color the bottoms of the “pear shaped” petals.

2-Then you take your embossing stylus, and press the bottom of the petal  in. This makes it pop up at the petal top.

3-Use your paper craft tweezer’s to curl the petal tops back.

4-Use a clear pop up glue dot. Lay on starburst shape. Then layer on your petals.

petal-on.jpg    assemble-flower.jpg

5-Next your place your smaller flower in the center-and push it down with your embossing stylus. This makes it all curl up, like  natural flower. I added a adhesive rhinestone to my center, but you could use a variety of other things, like liquid pearls.

put-flower-together.jpg

6-For the leaf, you simply take your embossing stylus and draw the spine!!! Attach where needed!

Here is a top view from my favor

pti-top-view-flower-favor.jpg

Now here is a card using that same flower idea

flower-card-for-tut.jpg  Faith-

I used Everyday Blessings and Circle Borders & Corners on this card, as well as the Pink Patterns paper.

Now here is a close up view of the flower for the card sample at the top of this post. I used the book as a guide to create my own flower. It also shows you how to trim up some punches and get a whole new variety of looks!! REALLY EASY & FAST

close-up-flower.jpg

On this card I used:

Define your life by SU!, Borders & Corners-square set, and Mixed Messages.

For punches I used a Marvy flower-layered 3 x’s, and My SU! flower punch (same as above), and the same leaf punch. DIMENSIONALS are crucial to this technique! The more volume you have the BETTER!!! IMO!

In the center of this flower I used Mirco beads.

So that is that! I hope you enjoyed it.

I still have a few tutorials left to put together, and I want to share my Daisy thank-you tomorrow. I MAY have time to get the kids room’s into a Smilebox for Tuesday-we shall see.

Anyway-thanks for reading! Let me know what you think of the tutorial, and if you try it on your own-or buy the book!

Happy Easter!

MYTIME MAIL!!!

Kelley from Our Daily Bread is going to give ONE of YOU the chance to win THIS SET!!!!! HERE!!!!!

Just leave a comment on this post!

I would love to hear what your most difficult challenge is for paper crafting.

Be it a color, technique, templates-WHATEVER challenge you face! Or maybe something you want to learn!!! SO leave that info in the comments section, to enter to WIN!

I will draw the winner, by random.org.,  on Tuesday!

Best of LUCK!

setimage2-413×540.jpg

Sorry Im SOOOO late with this post. I really needed a break, and we are trying to get our Easter stuff done, then I got side tracked with some MOJO, so I had to stamp 😀 All for FUN too!! Love that.

Plus I needed a card for Jay’s grandmother-its her b-day.

One of my photo lights broke, so I’m trying to find one to replace it-and WOW! They are pricey and hard to find. I really NEED it, so am hoping I can find one sooner rather than later.

I hope you have a great Easter weekend for those who celebrate it.

We are off to BUY a pre-made dessert for tomorrow. Normally I knock myself out trying to “do it all”. I always come up with some fabulous dessert idea. It takes a few hours to do. It’s always been that way, for every function, since I have been with Jason.

Don’t get me wrong, I have enjoyed doing it, but not really anymore. It’s another thing on my to-do list! I decided to let the stress of that just go. I do think I should definitely contribute by bringing something. I was taught you never go to someone’s home empty handed, and you always help in the kitchen and with clean up.

Anyway-letting it go just feels good. I didn’t make anything for Christmas either. I bought some tarts.

It doesn’t make sense anyway-I spend more on the ingredient’s than I would on a dessert that is just as fabulous , but already made, and saving me TIME!

OK so I do feel a “little” guilty about not bringing a home-made dessert, but I’ll get over it, while I’m stamping instead 😀

For those who asked Alexa seems to be OK! Thank GOD! She is at her father’s this weekend. I’m a little sad, she isn’t here, and missing some family stuff with us, but she really wants to be there, since they have a new baby.

Now lets get to the sketch!!

sketch-40.JPG click to enlarge.

We are keeping it in the corner-and SINGLE layer!!!

target-cherish-tomorrow.jpg Words to live by-

I so love this sentiment.

I used this flower by Stampendous, that my friend bought me a while ago. It’s amazing what you find when you dig through your PILES of stamp cases. I LOVE this image, and have not used it as often as I would have liked to.

Doing this helps me BEHAVE, and NOT buy unnecessary stuff-just because I like to get new things! LOL!

I made this after my card posted the other day, using colors inspired from some funky shorts I saw a Target.

The colors are white, gray, celery, and olive. The flower center is all green Stickels-really pretty in person. I liked the main image at that top corner, so not expected. Most of the time we put things in the bottom right, or left.

For me, I also don’t usually make cards that the focus is horizontal-isn’t that strange? I perfer a vertical layout.

Do you have any card quirks, like that, that you have noticed?

I also LOVE WHITE!!!! LOVE IT!!!!

I try to step out of the box and use more color-but sometimes you just dont need it-KWIM?

I love clean and simple-yet finely detailed cards. Theya re the one’s I am MOST drawn to in a store. Not sure why, they always capture my attention, but they do.

After my post —>HERE<—, I realized MANY of you need help keeping it S-I-M-P-L-E!

So for todays sketch, THAT is exactly what I need YOU to do.

You can add MINIMAL layer’s (if needed) but I perfer you keep it a SINGLE layer. If you get it to go a little off the edge-heck, even better.

You need to keep your main image to “A” corner. I don’t care which one-just do it.

Here is another example I did-so you get another idea.

corner-it-bird.jpg Bird on a Branch

This card uses my NEW! Birds Galore set by Inkadinkadoo, and the Papertrey Ink Birthday Basic’s set.

I stamped the bird in versamark, then heat set with Heat & Stick powder. Applied some copper foil for a neat look!

I then used my Scor-Pal, to create a light embossed border around the bird. SO subtle and pretty! Still needed “something” so I added the Maya Road velvet flowers, with some silver bling-for contrast!

Love it! Very simple-keeps my image at a CORNER!!! AND is ONE layer!

Now its your turn.

If you try the sketch post a link in the comment’s section. I hope you do-its a great one for quick cards, and a challenge for most!

The key is-DON’T OVER THINK IT! OK!

If you try the sketch-that allows you to enter for the stamp set 2x’s!!!

Tomorrow I will share my flower tutorial used on one of my Papertrey Projects!! I am also excited to soon share photos of the kids rooms-I may do a Smilebox, and the Thank You card I made for Kathie who made Daisy’s album!

OK now I’m off!

Till tomorrow.

Sending away the sickness

Mar 21, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

for-seth-sick-card.jpg Cheer up & Get Well

I sent this card with a care package to my nephew who has been ill.

I hope it (and the goodies) cheer him up a bit.

It’s hard to know what a little buy would like for a card. I always turn to Noah and ask what he thinks. he is always ready to give an honest opinion-just like dad!

I always find boy cards/stuff a challenge, but when I DO actually make something for them I LOVE it! I really like it to be fun and challenging. Don’t know why I don’t do more “guy” stuff, more often!

I bought this stamp YEARS ago!! Like 2 I think. It is from Inky Antics and is called Turtle’s Balloon. You have to check the Cute Critter’s category cause they have really cute stuff. BUT if you don’t like to color-then, so not for you. If you want to love to color-then buy the Copic markers (wink)!

I bought a TON of these critter’s-never/rarely used them. No reason. I just moved on to the next new thing. Sad eh? The good thing is I do still love them. They aren’t “out-dated” to me.

Anyway, I liked using the image for a non-birthday card. He looks like he really wants to cheer someone up 😀

Ever do that? Buy a stamp/set you HAVE to HAVE, then it sits un-inked for a LONG time?

I had other images I thought to use, but figured this would be perfect for the occasion.

I paired this with my SU! paper.  The balloon has a page pebble on it-so its an quick an easy 3D balloon. Flower has a little glitter-sorry I HAD to add some bling! LOL! Its the girl in me. Who says something on a boy card can’t sparkle right?

Looking back, I would have colored the shell in green’s :C, and I would have chosen my paper first. I do usually do that, but just kinda colored away. Oh well. I was trying to be “different”, and should have stuck with the original plan.

Like Simon Cowell (from American Idol) say’s-“Sometime’s the original is just that good, you don’t need to change it”

Lesson learned!!

I’m off. I really hope to stamp today. I’m still in “shopping for decorative items for the kids rooms” mode.

I think I may actually have  restful day. I THINK!!! This week, any free second I had, a migraine hit, and I hit the couch to try to rest a little. So not my idea of fun. When Jay see’s me nap in place of stamping he know’s it’s “bad”.

I will say it feels AMAZING getting everything done that I had to do.

Now I deserve “my time” to PLAY!

Im going to shower, then get right into a comfy pair of sweats. I’m not doing my hair OR my make-up today!

(PRAY that the UPS guy or someone else doesn’t randomly stop by-that is always the way! No one will come if you do yourself up, but the second you dont………………DING, DONG!!! Someone at the door!)

Tomorrow I have the Sketch Challenge for you-don’t forget to check in.

I also have more MYTIME MAIL!!

Till Tomorrow!

Altered-

Mar 20, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Home decor/3-D items

Still insanely busy here!!! It will continue over the next few weeks. Easter is really too early this year, and bringing alot to extra stuff at an unexpected time. Time is just flying past me here.

We made it to and from Chemo safe & sound!

Only 2 more CHEMO trips left-God willing 😀 She will still get count’s and a physical done at Dartmouth monthly for several months following, then it will go to every couple of months.

After that, she will continue to have to be screened for Cancer every year for the rest of her life. I’m OK with that. I just wonder if the looming hear of return ever leaves you? I doubt it.

Then to plan a BIG PARTY for her!!! I’m trying to decide what is BIG enough. I want a rockin idea that she will LOVE. She has been through SO much, and totally deserves the moon IMO. If I could give it to her I SO would.

Alexa did awesome, as usual. We ALWAYS get McDonald’s after as a reward. Now I have to pray she doesn’t get clogged arteries at the age of 10, from all the bribery fast food.

You do what you have to right? It really help’s her get through it.

Her count’s are great, but she feels a little icky. Not lookin so hot. Asleep for the night at 5pm.

I’m wondering if she caught something from the visit to the hospital. It is afterall, a breeding ground for GERMS!!

Now to pray she has the fight to get rid of whatever icky thing that she picked up :C BLAH!!!! She has gotten so much stronger this past year-thank the good lord!

Now back to the stamping portion of today’s post!

Its no secret I LOVE to alter items, make boxes, bags, tag, tins, 3D gifts …………….you name it! If it involves stamping and paper Im SO IN!! Unless its scrapping-NOT IN!!! SORRY!!

Anyway, when I saw Melanie‘s set –What’s in your tin? II-I LOVED it!! She asked me to come up with some ideas for it.

Here is my first of MANY to come!

NOTE: I need to shop for some more “filler’s” first (wink). Once I get shopping, I’m sure I’ll have lot’s of yummy idea’s for these tins. You can find them–> HERE

Modern Girl

modern-girl-tin.jpg

I LOVE pink & black. LOVE it!!!

This tin was done in black and white-with a pop of pink.

I HAD to have this Rubber Romance image-which I bought here. Upon trying to find which one she was, I found a dozen MORE must have’s from her! LOL! OH! Boy!

You can also buy them—–>HERE<———. If you see some you want her to get in-let her know!

My ONLY issue is that some are pretty large, and I get a little intimidated by them. I perfer the ATC size for “some” of them. It really varies, image to image. In fact I have a bunch of RR images, yet to see nk, due to my own intimidation :C

Like the girl on this tin-she is a BIGGIN! (aka HUGE)

I tried to NOT purchase her, but her face/image was stunning! I had to get her. Now I am SOOOO happy I did. She was truly perfect for this tin idea.

I used the black Atyou glitter pen on her hair as well.

Inside the tin is a little make-up brush set, with some soft pink lip-gloss!! It all fits nice and neatly in here! I took out the items a bit so you could view them.

inside-modern-girl-tin.jpg

The lip gloss tin was already all decorated! I got these item’s at the Target $1 spot! The brush set was in a clear glittered compact kind of thing.

I want to add a mirror to the lid-but was too impatient to wait to post. The bottom of the tin is lined with co-ordinating paper as well.

I so needed one of these brush sets for myself-and for a $1! Plus it looks great in your handbag 😀

The flower is from the Bridal confetti I got at Michaels a few posts ago.

Now one more altered gift.

bunny-jars-for-school.jpg

Well I had to share one of my projects for the kids in Alexa’s class.

(note: I did make candy carrot’s for the kids in Noah’s class, just not the box. For Amber she wanted to give Easter Egg chalk’s-so we did!)

I went with the Whisker’s Easter image, since he was PERFECT size for my 1 1/4 circle punch-and oh so cute! I hadn’t used him in forever!!

I used these mini glass jars from Michael’s , and filled them with Starburst Jelly Beans (I LOVE those one’s in particular! ON SALE $1.66!!!!), and stamped, colored, and punched the image for the jar lids-then ties with a pretty bow! Alexa wanted purple, so she got purple!

I made 20 of these in seriously 20 minutes!! GO LAUREN!!!!!-OK add like 7 to tie all the crazy ribbon.

But thats, stamping, coloring, punching, adhering and filling!!! Not too bad eh?

So I hope you enjoyed my post today, and get inspired to alter “something”.

I’m off and running-

I still have more to share, so stay tuned! Oh and thanks for stopping by.

Daisy gets a story book!

Mar 19, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: My family stuff, Uncategorized

diasy-cover.jpg Daisy’s Book cover

Well I had to post this before it got too late. I still can’t believe it. I have some of the BESTEST Friends/Blog buddies and reader’s in the WORLD! Seriously-I am so blessed.

First the PSF’s create a Disney Make-A-Wish scrap book, and people send hundreds of cards, and amazing things in between to this!

If you read my blog regularly you know about my cockapoo Daisy. She is now 6 months old.  Now before her, I was not what I would call a “dog” person, but now I’m definitely a Daisy person!

When we first saw Daisy I fell in love with her! The worst part was “I” didn’t even want a dog-but she changed that!

Now I can’t imagine our family without her.

Who else gets that excited just to see you in the morning, or when you get them their food? No one in my house, but Daisy does! LOL!

I was SHOCKED, and FLOORED- when my PSF Kathie (and her fur babies Hazel, and buttface, I mean um, Mr. French (Hazel likes to call him buttface :C) sent me this AMAZING book for Daisy.

She gave me permission to post it. Kathie if you have it somewhere else, let me know so I can link it!

It was wrapped in a dog food bag-cut up (which was SUPER adorable) with dog paw ribbon and a dog bone! Should have gotten a photo, but I was TOO excited.

She even included the CUTEST letter from her furbabies! With a photo of them 😀

Kathie THANK YOU so very much for this gift. It is next to me everyday! I am in awe of its beauty, and the time, thought and talent that went into every page!

THANK YOU-Hugs, Kisses and Daisy drools!
Here it is-Enjoy!

daisy-6.jpg Page 1-2 How can you resist her?

daisy-5.jpg page 3-4 AWE! This was the minute wqew got her “home”. Love it!

daisy-4.jpg page 5-6 I love her sleepy photo’s. She loves that blanket too.

daisy-book-3.jpg page 7-8 This page cracked me up!

daisy-2.jpg page 9-10 She included real toilet paper! LOL!

daisy-book.jpg page 11-12 Yes she is adorable-new haircut is looking great now too!!

daisy-book-1.jpg page 13-14 Yes-she is still naughty!!

I had to share every page with you!!!

Kathie was SO beyond sweet to take the time to make me a photo book of some of my favorite picture’s  have shared with you all here in Blog land, of my Daisy!!

I can’t imagine the time it took her to do this, and now I have to think of an OVER THE TOP, fabulous card to thank her with!

PLEASE leave your opinions as to ideas of a FABULOUS card I could come up with! It can be a stamp image, shape, any idea!!

Here is a photo of her in Noah’s room, after the re-make! She had to get in every photo.

Daisy in Noahs room

Thanks everyone!

Till later-

Time-less! That’s me!

Mar 19, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

 mft-timeless.jpg Timeless

This card uses- Boho Blossom, and Build a Bloom from —->HERE!

Well its the middle of the week-and I got my children’s class goodies DONE!! I was on a mission! I will post photos soon. Im on the RUN!

Yesterday, I had to fill egg’s for Amber’s class egg hunt. That was a disaster! Something simple, became so complex! I got like 3 different things that DIDN’T work to fit in my eggs.

Now WHY is it that when you NEED to find something-like a SIMPLE roll of stickers, an item that is usually EVERYWHERE when you DON’T need it, is NO WHERE to be found, when you do?

AND, why do people work at Michales have NO IDEA what CRAFT supplies are? Am I the only one who runs into this?

I mean “I” am pretty educated on craft stuff, and where things are in the store-but you can’t tell me where you would have a ROLL of stickers?! No NOT the $4 pack of scrapbook stickers-I need CHEAP, kids stickers. The same stickers I find in the $1 bin/toy section, everytime I take my kids, but yesterday when I went KIDLESS, were no where to be found.

This kind of thing-worker’s NOT knowing 1) Where something is, and 2) WHAT you are talking about, happens all the time!!!

GRRR!!!

Anyway, I made this card, since it was done with “my time”, and time was my “thought” behind it. I was in a tissy yesterday. I felt I was Time-Less! Only this card is great! IMO! 😀

I loved the sentiment.

I also never use green-like all green. Not pretty spring moss or celery green-just olive green. My unfavorite green.

I haven’t used this set in FOREVER-and love it! Plus I hate green, so rarely use maily those colors,so it was a nice challenge.

I put my blocks together-then stamped my flower in white stazon, on the acetate, then layered over the squares!

Love the crisp, clean look.

Anyway, I was inspired after seeing the colors of some of the Summer stuff at Target yesterday…….which they were totally re-stocking the stamp/scrap isle’s with NEW!!! Goodies! I so wanted in but was seriously getting the evil eye from the worker :C She obviously did not get or appreciate my eexcitement-a NON paper crafter I’m guessing.

Anyway I left her to re-stock. I will hunt down new stuff tomorrow-when I am kidless.

Today I am off to Chemo with Alexa.

I am having a hard time with the thought of parting with my Candy Carrot Garden :C I LOVE that thing! I plan on bringing it with me today for the Staff in Oncology. They love things like that. I think they will appreciate it more that kids in Kindergarten.

As I said, Alexa has Chemo today, and we are due for a snow/ice storm. I hope our travel will be ok, since it’s and 1 1/2 hour drive-in perfect weather-no traffic.

On a HAPPY note!

Kim from MFT informed me that since it is the 20th-monthly MFT Day, she is having a sale!

This offer extends of course to our valued Intl customers and there is no restriction on what is purchased!
Here are the deets:
*During your oder process, use the coupon code MFTDay0308 and receive a $4.60 discount on your order total
*This coupon is only valid until midnight March 20th in honor of Celebrate MFT Day and National Craft month
*There are no product restrictions, but note that some items are currently out of stock and the coupon can’t be used on those items
*Orders will ship within 2-3 business days as usual! Most often more quickly, but sometimes the pesky family beckons…

So RUN don’t walk! We all love a sale right?

OK I really need to run-so I’ll be back later to post my Dirty Challenge. It MAY have to wait till tomorrow-bear with me!

MFT Tuesday-take 4

Mar 18, 2008 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

OK -I KNOW my title is LAME! Sorry!

Today is quick and simple samples-with MFT!

Remember when I said I’d eventually CRASH & BURN? Yeah, I’m crashin.

I have a million things to do that totally crept up on me-I got so involved with re-decorating the kids rooms (and it continued through the weekend-closets, clothes and blah, blah, blah), that I got behind on stuff I need/want to do. Photos to come soon!

I hate not getting to stamp for even 2 days let alone a week!! YIKES!

Noah has to go to the dentist AGAIN today-suck at least $200 out of my pocket, Alexa has Chemo Wednesday-that is an all day thing, School meeting Thursday, as well as 2 class parties,  Friday one class party.

I need to finish my children’s Easter stuff, and Easter things for their 40 classmates in total. THEN-Sew Amber’s Dance costume, Make 50 Wedding invites, 100 Wedding Favors, a few Thank You’s made, a sympathy card done, a PSF gift, decorations for Noah’s room to create…………………mail stuff……..are YOU tired of reading it yet?!

BLAH! So my title creativity is low, and my to do list is long.

WHY do I wait till the LAST minute? I always “plan” ahead, but often finish executing late.

Anyway-it will get done. The important thing is to stay focused and manage my time. I ALWAYS have to “play” first 😀 Otherwise my “have to’s” aren’t fun.

Part of my “play” is coming here and posting. I get to sit and just blabber away.

Well Im now going to share some cards made with the most recentMFT release-Punch a Bunch, and Ride’em Cowgirl

Hope you like-I made them like a month ago! Its so hard to wait! I often forget I have made stuff and it gets LOST-never shared.

Bandanna wrap

mft-bandana-bye.jpg Well when I made this card, I was thinking of a bandanna scarf kind of thing. I wanted to do something-interesting, and this was what I came up with. The Berry Bliss paper by SU! Is really perfect to pair with this set. As is the star punch!

If you can’t tell I also paper pieced her dress.

Next up-a well, FUNKY card.

mytime-mft-these-boots.jpg I wanted to focus on the BOOTS!!! So I did. It was definitely an interesting layout! I do like the hemp stitched up the side, and the way the boot is showcased. I really like this set alot. It was fun to play with.

Next up! Punch a Bunch

I finally made more use of my Sizzix die’s! I used the flower pots for these 2 creations.

mytime-mft-topiary.jpg I don’t know WHY but I saw “topiary” for this! So I went with it. I like the color blocked bkgd. This was a simple card, but I enjoyed playing around with the possibilities of using this set a little differently!

Now we have a more obvious use. Kim’s intent for this set was QUICK cards. This one was VERY simple!

The sentiment over the flower’s is one of my favorite!

mytime-mft-flower-filled-pot.jpg

Rust is NOT a color “I” normally use, but it was a nice change of pace. Plus paired with the saffron and black it worked. The scallop border-punched, is actually the scallop oval STAMP-Its really NICE!!!!

I did sponge the edges of the pot, but you can’t really see the depth by the photo-sorry!!

That gorgeous bkgd is created by Lisa Strahl-its called Dotted Diamonds. I so LOVE it.

Well that’s it for today-Im off and running.

Till tomorrow-I have our monthly Dirty Girl challenge, and it doubled as a BOY card for my nephew who has been ill.

Till then, Bye!

Oh MY!!!!! Lauren, how do you do it?!?! You are so amazing. I can’t imagine which one I would say I like the most. They are all lovely. The first is pretty, the second with the shell is really neat, the next one with the brown cs really stands out. And then the candle…well that is super-dee-duper cool!

You just amaze me.

See….I told you, you ROCK!

Thanks again everyone-

Till tomorrow!
