Well today will be a fast post. I had ANOTHER headache yesterday (grrrr) and got nothing done.
Today I’m off to a field trip with Amber’s Pre-school class (and bringing Noah because I would not be home in time to get him from school), to a play center, about 40 min away. I will be taking 3 extra kids.
I think in total there is like 25 kids. Now if that doesn’t SCREAM headache, I don’t know what does! LOL!I am going for the JUMBO coffee today at the Dunkin’s Drive thru! LOL! I am going to need the extra caffiene today
I have another GIRLY card for you.
I need to get out of girl mode, because Noah has a b-day party this weekend, and I want to make a card for him to bring.
THAT IS WHERE YOU COME IN!
I haven’t stamped hardly at all this week-so am looking forward to it. I got some new MFT (to be released stuff) and new C.C. Designs- WAITING patiently to be inked! YEAH!!! I think I may use of of C.C. Designs new-to be released sets for the card!
I would LOVE some cool color combo options here, if you have a great idea for a boyish color combo!!
Leave me a comment and let me know! I’ll pick one from here and make a card to post for the Sat. Sketch!
I have another card to share with the Once Upon A Time set-How I LOVE that set! Do you know those Princess frames my friend made for the girls room’s were based off that image 😀
Anyway here is my card.
This one I just focused in the pink!
I colored my Bridal Confetti sparkly flower with my makers. If you can see the outer embossed edge is a little darker. Love that look.
Well that is it-sorry, nothing earth shattering-so thanks for stopping by!!
Wish me luck on the field trip! YIKES!!
Lauren

Good Luck! I hope you get rid of your your migraines. Yikes! A migraine and 25 pre-schoolers… So for boy colors I would love a lime green and blue color scheme. Too weird? It just popped into my head I think because I just got lime green fun flock. Again good luck, let us know how it goes. -Molly B
Have fun on that trip and I love tempting turquiose and brilliant blue for a boy card. The princess card is adorable. I am going to have to get that princess set. Hope your headaches go away. Have a great day! Stacy
This is absolutely adorable!!!
My idea is navy, frog green, red and tan. Maybe use cars stickers or cut one out from by land from su. Just my idea. But you will wow us with another spectatcular idea. Well I’ll be reading tomorrow.
Amy
LOL good luck today! I don’t envy you! I usually say no to most field trips these days. Only because I work lunch program at the school and look after 88 grades 1 and 2 kids. That’s enough of a headache some days….especially lately….Spring fever and they are off the walls! Hope you manage okay today! I can’t function very well if I have a headache. Hope that Dunkin’ can help 😉
Your card is adorable! I love that you used a grey colour. I can’t seem to make it work for me.
I bought some new Cosmo Cricket DP yesterday that has rockets all over it. I was drawn to the boyish colours….I’ll check what they were and let you know. I’m sure you have it already anyway….go check your stash 🙂
Have a fab day!
How about Not Quite Navy, Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa and Summer Sun……
I’m looking at my ink pads…..
Hope this helps a teeny tiny bit…..
Yikes – that many kids on a field trip at that young of an age – girlfriend, you’re a saint for volunteering!
Lately, when I want a masculine color palette, I look no further than where I work once a week – Gymboree (clothing store). Take a look at their latest collection:
http://www.gymboree.com/shop/dept_outfit.jsp?pick=NONE&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374306236815&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524445967246&bmUID=1206625154287&productSizeSelected=0
Those colors look like Basic Grey, Only Orange, Bashful Blue and Night of Navy (or maybe Not Quite Navy?).
Anxious to see your creations tomorrow!
I am ALWAYS into Chocolate Chip and it would go great with Not Quite Navy, Certainly Celery and Whisper White. I always love your posts, good luck with the kids. (I’d get TWO coffees) 🙂
It is just bueatiful… I only use SU stamp because I am a Demo and I try to stay true to their products… But everytime i come to ur blog i think OOOh!! I have to get that set…
Oh Yeah for a boy card colors … Gable Green and Brilliant Blue…
I really like really rust, sage shadow, choc chip, and creamy caramel for boys. I have made some stuff with the Cat’s Pajama’s Cowboys & Indians stamp sets with those colors and I just love the way they look…can go either way but I think good for boys.
You are the guru! I know you will make something fabulous. Enjoy!
~Kathy
love the princess card!
how about taken with teal, tempting turquoise, glorious green, green galore and a tab yo yo yellow???
another favorite for boys is real red, blue bayou, soft sky and white.
good luck! i can’t wait to see whatyou come up with!
i’m sure it will be awesome…whatever combo you choose!
🙂
What a beautiful card!! Good luck with the headache, only figures you’d get one the same day as a preschool field trip!!
Well I love the cards…I sort of live vicareously through your girly things as I have all boys…so with that said you need colours…
My son’s favs are Orange, chocolate brown, Navy Blue, green….did I mention that orange is his favorite…my youngest calls everything blue right now so those two are a must. (my boys are 4.5 and almost 2.5)
By the way email me and I will give you an over the counter cure for those headaches that I got from my neurologist as I too have them but right now can’t do much being pregnant!!!
I am a huge fan of the Jersey Shore DP because the colors are great for boys: Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, and Pumpkin Pie!
Good luck with the field trip. You are a brave lady!
Take deep breaths and count to ten!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you really do have a good time!!!!! How about blue green and white, or black red and blue color combos for your card. Just remember tomorrow is your favorite day Friday.
Take Care, Donna :}
Haha, I was going to suggest one of my son’s favorite combos: Tempting Turquoise and Brilliant Blue, but Stacy said exactly that!
I also love to throw in Real Red and either a yellow (Saffron or Yoyo) or a green (Glorious, Gable, Wasabi…).
Have fun!!!
Cute card! I should buy this set as I have two girls and this would be perfect for invites. Have fun on your field trip.
How about orange and navy? I love this combo! Have a great day – your card is SO CUTE!
I can’t believe you are asking for help… you are so awesome! 🙂
I love a boy card with an earthy green, grey blue and of course chocolate brown… or even better is a soft blue, rustic orange and a little bit of brown!!!
Here is what I mean…

I have a 2 1/2 year little boy so I have lots of boy paper and colors around!
🙂
I hope your migraine is getting a lot better. I had those a lot in my younger days.
I love blue and yellow for little boy cards.
Great pretty in pink card! Hope you don’t get a headache…..and Kraft, Red, and Blue….or go wild and do a Blue, Yellow, Green and a touch of pink! I just did an All-Mixed-Up Ugly Duck and the pink ballet slippers were super cute! My boys are older so they’d appreciate the humor in it!
Love the card so many ideas can be gotten from this TFS
Beautiful princess & castle card, I luv it!
I’m thinking dark or a bright blue with yellow & a touch of red for a boy! Good luck!
Lauren,
This is the coolest site ever for color combo inspiration. It is so much fun. It’s called Color Stripes.
Here’s the link:
http://color-stripes.blogspot.com/
Unlike the SU! color combo generator, Kris posts gorgeous, colorful photos of anything that interests her (like an inspiration photo), and then pulls the colors out of the photo and puts the stipes of color into a palette for you.
It’s so cool, I get sensory overload sometimes- it’s a very happy site to visit.
Oh I had one of those headaches the other day. I sypathize with you gir. I have a very active 2 year old at home and he didn’t help with the headache.
My color combo is navy blue and yellow.
I love the Jersey Shore DP for boy cards and scrapbooking! I also love Real Red, Brocade Blue, Summer Sun, and green galore. Bright and cheery for boys Bday cards!
The first thing that pops in my head for boy colors: Navy, Orange and/or Yellow, white
I’d use a navy blue, lime green, and a bit of red. :)Shellie
I love navy for boys or ANYTHING for that matter . . how about navy, real red, and white. That’s kind of boring but I love the red and blue together. Or Real Red, Brilliant Blue, and Certainly Celery . . . my new favorite color!
Good luck on your field trip . . that princess card is to die for! Absolutely gorgeous!!!
Just wanted to say that I was uber happy yesterday when I finally ran across those little wedding flowers at Michaels. I had looked for them every since you first posted about them and finally there they were yesterday and with that 40% coupon – wahoo!
Hi Lauren, Worried about your headaches. If you don’t know your blood pressure, get it checked. HBP can hit at any age. Headaches and dizzyness are one symptom.
Color…how about blue bayou, (or one of the other lighter blues) with navy and hunter green & white for pop?
Such a cute card! I’m dying to get this set! Love it!
Hope you don’t have any headaches while you’re out with the kiddos. That many preschoolers can be challenging…and in public too!
Hmm…boy color combos…I immediately thought of blue, green and orange. Orange seems to be big for boys right now.
If you haven’t tried it, Excedrin migraine works very well. Also, there is so much medication out there – no need to suffer! (she says as she suffers through a headache)>
Hi Lauren. Sorry you have a headache-again. Just reading about you going on that field trip….that gives ME a headache. 😉 I remember those days.
For a color combo-a mustard yellow, ocean blue,& brown. Brown for the whole card. A stripe of the mustard yellow. Then add a square shape of blue on top of that. Or even several squares down the yellow stripe.
Does that make sense?!? Probably not! :/
Have a nice day.
I love your princess card!!! (wish I had a little girl to make one for) I got to a Michaels on the weekend and the first thing on my list was your Bridal confetti flowers I bought white and ivory and the bonus is the clear paint can they are packaged in!!! Limes and blues would be great for a boys card. TFS Ann
Lauren this is beautiful!! I love how you have accented the crown by having it come out of the box. What a perfect card.
And your trip with all the kids sounds like the perfect solution to your headache… NOT!!! I’m so sorry.
For a color combo… anything with red. It’s not just grown up boys that love red. I think any male is just drawn to it!! My 16 year old says that blue and white is his favorite color combo. But if I buy him a red shirt, I’ve noticed he wears it first. lol
Navy blue and lime green or navy blue and red. Headaches, leave the caffeine alone, try more water and a good neck massage after the trip
Hey Lauren, Hope your field trip went well – on my Google Reader just above your post was this post at kris’s color stripes – thought I’d share as it was “boy” colors! 🙂
Hey you…
Headaches… Yes, just what you ae lacking…
I am going to give you…..Advise!! 🙂
Since you are a coffee drinker like me….
Yup, I looove the stuff…
You need to replace the fluids you lose by drinking the coffee.
Yes, Water, water, water…
I try to drink 2 glasses of water for every cup of coffee I drink.
When I remember and have time….
Which is not often enough….
If I don’t…I get headaches.. boring hey!
With everything you have on the go…I am sure you do not get that much time..
Good luck!
Boy color combo’s.. Navy blue, sage green, with a punch of deep red
Hugs to you…
Me
Well I also am envious of your girly girly stuff….as I have three boys. They make me very very tired. In case no one has told you, boys don’t really ever sit and color…they like to run and jump in mud and break things. I love them all…but why can’t they just sit and color? =)
Needless to say….I make lots of boy things. Here is my color combo stolen from one of the twins pjs. (sad isn’t it….I have to receive my inspiration from the laundry.) Ha!
Bashful blue, close to cocoa and real red.
Wild Wasabi, Cool Caribbean, and Basic Black.. to fun. I just did a card with those colors and it’s on my blog.
Hey, Lauren! Sorry about your headache — hope the Dunkin’s coffee took care of it! LOVE your card — the flower and bling are just perfect! For a boy card — Wild Wasabi and Blue Bayou!
Hi Lauren! Sorry about your headaches; I get a lot, too, but I think it’s dental problems. But since we don’t have an extra $10,000 lying around, and no insurance, I take advil and deal with it!!! I use SU, (but am adding PTI each month LOL!) so for boy cards my fave combos are Not Quite Navy, So Saffron with Vanilla, and also Tempting Turquoise with Taken With Teal and a little Gable Green (with white). Haven’t tried it yet, but I think Wild Wasabi with Garden Green and some Groovy Guava would be nice. Can’t wait to see what you come up with! Take care!
Right now I like choc. chipand soft sky and white for a guy. A little yellow would be nice. Take it easy with those migraines.
Sandyh50
Hey Lauren,
I am your migraine sister! Sorry to hear about your s currently, I am fortunate to not have had one for a little bit now.
I made a card for my husbands bday- soft sky, basic gray, whisper white. Not very “kiddie” but masculine… Here is my scs sample…

Hope you are feeling better!

children are wonderful
thanx for sharing
chriss x
I LOVE your card! I’m so dying to buy that set but I wanted to sell my SU Pretty Princess set first….maybe I won’t wait!
I totally hear ya’ with the migraine. I work at an elementary school and had my first migraine in about 13 or 14 years just a few weeks back. I lasted one day at school and then had to call in sick for 2 days. I just couldn’t take it! I was in a grade 1 class and the noise….! So I really really hope things go ok for you!
I can’t think of a color combo right now…I do have a son, but he’s 15 and I don’t stamp much for him any more. Good luck!
Heather L.
Lauren – hope the trip went well today! AND that your headache is GONE…ew – I can SO relate.
They took away the access to like, EVERYTHING at work, so now my computer time is extrememly limited…I hate that filter. grrrrr
Color combo…hmmmm, it depends on the theme of the set, KWIM?? I like Basic Gray, Green Galore, and Only Orange…maybe some bashful Blue in there…but if you’re working with a cowboy themed set persay, I don’t see that working…now if it were a cowboy set…close to cocoa, bravo burgundy, so saffron (or similar colors from other companies…you know what I mean) perhaps, just fun – Navy & Orange…
anyway – hope there are no more headaches… {{{HUGS}}}
Hope you have fun with ALL those kids!!My 10 yo son likes Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue. Now, he doesnt know that those are the names of the colors, but he always picks those when I ask what he wants.Have a great day!
Sorry to hear about your migraines, I am all to familar with those, this time of year with the temps going up and down are real “trigers” I can’t live without my IMETREX! Speaking from experience enjoy all the field trips you can, they grow up way too fast! I always tried to to make the trips, even into high school, New York City was sooo much fun with 30 teenagers! Now they’re off to college and don’t need Chaparones, at least that’s what they think! Bless you for all you do, I’ll remember you and the class in my prayers tonight
Chocolate Chip-Blue Bayou-white
*I sure hope that headache is gone.
Class trips are fun…. lol..I was thinking
2 Jumbo coffee’s..Hope you had a enjoyable time!
* Beautiful Pink Princess Card!!
How’s your migraine this evening? Hope you’re finally getting some rest or at least some quiet peaceful stamp time.
I love bright orange and blue for boys!!
Or
limey green and brilliant blue with some orange!
Feel bettah soon!!
Geeesh Lauren, you are brave attending a class trip with loads of kids ~ YIKES ! Never mind a Jumbo coffee, I’d require an I.V. line of caffeine, inorder to survive that day **HA**
I thought for once I might be able to give you a **suggestion** of my own, since our Godson’s 12th B’day is this weekend. I took him shopping last night at one of his FAV stores – ”West 49 Store”- [[Skater-Boy-mix-kinda-rock-hip style Youth/Adult store]]. Since he is very particular about his clothing & colour combinations, I thought I could share with you what was prominent on the shelves and in a twelve year old’s mind ….
~*~*~*~* Dark-Chocolate Brown and a Yellowish Green*~*~*~*~
((Copics E49 [Dark Brown] & YGo6 [Yellowish Green] & YG23 [New Leaf]))
Sorry I can’t quote you SU colours, but since I know you KNOW your Copics, thought this would work just as well. {*smile*}
I’m sure you’ve already used this combo many many times, but just incase, thought for once perhaps I could lend a helpful paw :0) These colours are also what I’m designing his B’day card on, with a cool yellowish-green geiko image :)~~ Trust me Lauren, the older they get, the more difficult it is to design something cool and hot.
Lauren, your card is precious! Wow, you can create amazing cards even with a 2-day heachache…you continue to impress me. Color combos for boys…hmmm, how abouta classic combo ~ Real Red, Bordering Blue & Vanilla…a classic combo = )
Hi Lauren, for boy cards I love turquoise, green and yellow. So bright and fun. Look forward to seeing whatever you do create. Cheers.
hey, just thought i’d throw one out there. how ’bout green galore, night of navy and bordering blue? just an idea!
Check out my monkey card !!
Have fun!

Oh Lauren! Have fun on the field trip. I know just what that is like! I teach kindergarten! Two of my fave boy combos are 1)kraft, navy, red, and vanilla and 2) choc chip, bashful blue and cert celery (oooh I bet aqua mist and spring moss would look good too!) Good luck! Love your boy cards!
Hi Lauren! Adorable card!
My fave boy color combo (that I use all the time) is chocolate brown, light blue and white. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Have a great day!
CUTE princess card! Hope your headache is all gone and that the field trip was lots of fun!
My favorite color combo for boys is real red, bashful blue and certainly celery. I just made a bunch of shower invites for a friend who is having twin boys! 🙂 Hugs…
{{{BIG HUGS}}} Hope your headache is better!!
Oh what a lovely princess card – love all the pink, your flower, the ribbon – perfect ! Regarding the color combo for a boy: I love to combine a dark red with a dark blue and a kind of green (olive), maybe some chocolate brown tone on it…
Ups, forgot one of the most important things: hope, you feel better and everything went great at the field trip !!! Hugs… xox
