Still insanely busy here!!! It will continue over the next few weeks.ย Easter is really too early this year, and bringing alot to extra stuff at an unexpected time. Time is just flying past me here.
We made it to and from Chemo safe & sound!
Only 2 more CHEMO trips left-God willing ๐ She will still get count’s and a physical done at Dartmouth monthly for several months following, then it will go to every couple of months.
After that, she will continue to have to be screened for Cancer every year for the rest of her life. I’m OK with that. I just wonder if the looming hear of return ever leaves you? I doubt it.
Then to plan a BIG PARTY for her!!! I’m trying to decide what is BIG enough. I want a rockin idea that she will LOVE. She has been through SO much, and totally deserves the moon IMO. If I could give it to her I SO would.
Alexa did awesome, as usual. We ALWAYS get McDonald’s after as a reward. Now I have to pray she doesn’t get clogged arteries at the age of 10, from all the bribery fast food.
You do what you have to right? It really help’s her get through it.
Her count’s are great, but she feels a little icky. Not lookin so hot. Asleep for the night at 5pm.
ย I’m wondering if she caught something from the visit to the hospital. It is afterall, a breeding ground for GERMS!!
Now to pray she has the fight to get rid of whatever icky thing that she picked up :C BLAH!!!! She has gotten so much stronger this past year-thank the good lord!
Now back to the stamping portion of today’s post!
Its no secret I LOVE to alter items, make boxes, bags, tag, tins,ย 3D gifts …………….you name it! If it involves stamping and paper Im SO IN!! Unless its scrapping-NOT IN!!! SORRY!!
Anyway, when I saw Melanie‘s set –What’s in your tin? II-I LOVED it!! She asked me to come up with some ideas for it.
Here is my first of MANY to come!
NOTE:ย I need to shop for some more “filler’s” first (wink). Once I get shopping, I’m sure I’ll have lot’s of yummy idea’s for these tins. You can find them–> HERE
Modern Girl
I LOVE pink & black. LOVE it!!!
This tin was done in black and white-with a pop of pink.
I HAD to have this Rubber Romance image-which I bought here. Upon trying to find which one she was, I found a dozen MORE must have’s from her! LOL! OH! Boy!
You can also buy them—–>HERE<———. If you see some you want herย to get in-let her know!
My ONLY issue is that some are pretty large, and I get a little intimidated by them.ย I perfer the ATC size for “some” of them. It really varies, image to image. In fact I have a bunch of RR images, yet to see nk, due to my own intimidation :C
ย Like the girl on this tin-she is a BIGGIN! (aka HUGE)
ย I tried to NOT purchase her, but her face/image was stunning! I had to get her. Now I am SOOOO happy I did.ย She was truly perfect for this tin idea.
I used the black Atyou glitter pen on her hair as well.
Inside the tin is a little make-up brush set, with some soft pink lip-gloss!! It all fits nice and neatly in here! I took out the items a bit so you could view them.
The lip gloss tin was already all decorated! I got these item’s at the Target $1 spot! The brush set was in a clear glittered compact kind of thing.
I want to add a mirror to the lid-but was too impatient to wait to post. The bottom of the tin is lined with co-ordinating paper as well.
I so needed one of these brush sets for myself-and for a $1! Plus it looks great in your handbag ๐
The flower is from the Bridal confetti I got at Michaels a few posts ago.
Now one more altered gift.
Well I had to share one of my projects for the kids in Alexa’s class.
(note: I did make candy carrot’s for the kids in Noah’s class, just not the box. For Amber she wanted to give Easter Egg chalk’s-so we did!)
I went with the Whisker’s Easter image, since he was PERFECT size for my 1 1/4 circle punch-and oh so cute! I hadn’t used him in forever!!
I used these mini glass jars from Michael’s , and filled them with Starburst Jelly Beans (I LOVE those one’s in particular! ON SALE $1.66!!!!), and stamped, colored, and punched the image for the jar lids-then ties with a pretty bow! Alexa wanted purple, so she got purple!
I made 20 of these in seriously 20 minutes!! GO LAUREN!!!!!-OK add like 7 to tie all the crazy ribbon.
But thats, stamping, coloring, punching, adhering and filling!!! Not too bad eh?
So I hope you enjoyed my post today, and get inspired to alter “something”.
I’m off and running-
I still have more to share, so stay tuned! Oh and thanks for stopping by.
Lauren

God has truly blessed you. I am so glad you are in the chemo count down. I remember that myself. Alexa is strong, but as a cancer survivor I know that you get your strength from the support system around you.
As usual, your work is AMAZING!! Thank you for sharing your talent and your life.
I don’t know how on earth you do it all!!! I never seem to be able to all that I need to. You are always on the go and always have a millions things to do, and some how seem to get it all done. You are awesome. I wish I didn’t crack under pressure like you. You just do it. Congratulations to Alexa on almost being done chemo! I how she feels better soon though!
This little beauty tin is a BEAUTY!
So glad the chemo is almost over (McDonalds hasn’t hurt me or my kids yet. There are other bribes worse than the golden arches) ๐
You are such a busy girl! I don’t know how you do it. Congrats on the chemo. I hope she feels a little better today. The end is in sight. We are all pulling for her!
I’m so glad to hear that Alexa is doing well. She will continue to be in my prayers.
If you could, please say a prayer for Leanna. She’s the daughter of one of my coworkers. She was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and she had a really tough time in January. She had developed a septic infection and is just now starting the road to recovery. She has a long road ahead. I can only imagine what her parents are going through but I’m sure you know all too well.
I love your Easter projects! Very cute.
Lauren, I’m happy to hear that Alexa did well yesterday. Hope when she woke up this morning she is feeling better. How can you deny a child something she loves, like McDonalds, after all she has been through. I couldn’t either!
Your altered tin is so pretty! That image is fab!
The treats are wonderful too! I looked at getting those little jars with the coupon but they were sold out…darn eh?! Love the image you used….adorable!
Have a fab day! I’m off to get another coffee before I can even think of stamping!
Your childrens friends must love you!!! I love your tin what a great idea for your purse. TFS Ann
soooo stinkin cute! Go Lauren is right…20 minutes???
Oh I LOVE that tin, Lauren! LOVE the RR girl. . .perfect! And that confetti flower with just the edges colored. . .I LOVE that idea!
wonderful post I do enjoy my days not knowing what you’ll accomplish to make for the next day. You continue to surprise me in the most elaborate ways. I do enjoy what you did with whiskers. How many came in a package? I don’t remember seeing them at michael’s (which I practically live there) Can’t wait till tomorrow or later to see what else you post.
Hey girl, congrads to your daughter….You probly don’t give your mailing address but maybe I could make a card and figure out how to attach it, I realy stink at using computers…as for the party, I don’t know your daughter personally but we had a birthday party where the young girls made scrapbook pages using stamps and other stuff and each girl could write things about your daughter and you could take pictures of her and her friends, get some party glasses (like big girls would dirnk from, plastic of course), maybe decorating nails and make up if she’s into that….just some ideas!!! Speaking of chemo, I better get to administering…. ;)!!!!
Oh, I’m so loving those little jars… and what you’ve done with them…fabulous!
I’m so happy that Alexa did well and you guys made it home safe and sound. I’m so glad the ‘hardest’ part is coming to an end and all that’s left are the check ups. What a PTL!
Great job on the tin too! You’re just so clever! It’s always such a treat coming to visit and seeing what you’ve done!
Gotta run! Big {{{HUGS}}} to you!
Oh SO CUTE!!! Love the jars! Wish I had some here!!!
I’m so glad everything went well yesterday and I hope she didn’t catch something and is just tired from it all! Keeping good thoughts your way!
Lauren,
I don’t know how you balance everything, you are amazing! It’s your spirit and inspiration that has led me to tag you, I hope that’s okay. Just go to my blog for the details and thanks for playing!
Cheryl
What an amazing mommy you are Lauren! How sweet that you took the time out of your busy schedule to make special treats for all of your kid’s classmates. I love to alter items too and yours always inspire me. Have a great Easter!
Whew! It makes me tired just to read about your day sometimes! Glad the day went well and that you made it home safely. The tin and treats are adorable. i like to alter things, too. I get the real Altoids, though, and then alter them (after I eat the mints…heehee.) There is a chocolate covered mint Altoid that is always in my purse for my needy moments.
Peace, baby, peace. Here’s to a peaceful end to this chaotic week for you. My word, you can fit some serious stuff into seven days.
Hope Alexa’s feeling better and she isn’t in fact sick from some germie she picked up. Will keep her and you!- in prayer.
I think 20 minutes for all those favors is some kind of record. Serious!
Lauren, I’m a newbie to your blog and sit in awe of your strength, your courage, and your absoulutely amazing creativity. I was on the net researching some things I need for my own life and getting frustrated with my search. I came to my in box just to shake it off and found your latest post and work. I sit here and pray for us all and am so grateful I found you and your heart. TFS all you do, it gives so many of us the umph we need to keep going. You RAWK!!!!!!!!! My prayers and my heart are with you and yours.
OMGosh! Lauren how do you do it??? I have been out of work since June and cannot get my act together….I am so depressed because I cannot seem to get anything done, nor do I want to!
Three children, one sick, on numerous design teams, redoing your entire house and you still have time to stamp and upload to your blog….I want to be you!!!
TFS
Terry~~
Wow, 20 min for all of those jars? How do you do it my friend. Send some of that energy to the west coast please. ๐ Glad to hear Alexa did good yesterday and sure hope she’s feeling better today. Hospital’s are such great places to pick up icky’s.
Hi Lauren…so glad your families ordeal is almost over. Cancer is such a terrible disease and it seems that almost everyone you talk to has been touched by it in some way. I hope the next 2 sessions pass quickly and you can look back on this time and say….”Thank you God for everything”….it’s over!
One thing that might be fun for your BIG PARTY is rent a bump and jump….you know one of those big things that they blow up and you get in and jump. I have to admit that when my granddaughter had one for her birthday I even got in it and jumped…Fun, Fun…
Whatever you do…Have FUN!!!
I will be thinking of you in the next 2 months,
Pam
Glad to hear Alexa is through one more treatment. Yeah, only two to go!!! Kids are amazing troopers through so much – we sometimes don’t give them the credit they deserve. Hope she isn’t catching anything and just tired out from the day!
Love the little bunny jars. They are adorable! Thinking may have to make some for the kids I watch before and after school as their end of school gift. Thanks again for the inspiration!
God Bless Alexa!!! God has a big plan for her and your family. Love the Easter treats and especially the box! Have a Happy Happy Easter!! Miracles do happen!!
My goodness, where do you find the time to do all that AND attend to a very sick child?! Your projects are beautiful and inspiring. And I am so glad to hear the good news about Alexa. Hope you fun with the celebrations!
CC
Absolutely fantastic Lauren…is there no end to your creative ideas!! Glad the chemo went OK and hope your daughter will soon feel better. Had a go at your Carrot Garden today and although not as good as yours, I thought it turned out really well! I’ve linked your blog to the posting for it so you get full credit which you deserve!! Hope this is OK.
One more treatment….having gone through chemo with a friend, I know what a milestone that is. God’s blessings be upon you.
I’ve looked and looked for those glass jars at my Michael’s without success. Maybe I’ll check online?
Great idea to use just a portion of that “intimidatingly large” chick. She looks so cool with the glitzy hair. Both altered containers are great. Bet the kids loved theirs.
so exciting with your dd’s chemo ending. It’s gonna be a good summer!!
I have a son who has cancer (well, we hope the last surgery got it all!) but the looming what if’s don’t go away. You learn to be VERY thankful for each and every day and try to block the what if’s out of your mind! Give that girl some HUGE party!
Super cute projects by the way! I wanna stamp like Lauren when I grow up!!
I can say…(for certain) that on the year “marker” life stops for a moment. And you will never forget. No matter how many years go by. I have been “out”,”clean bill of health” etc for 27 years -yes! I said YEARS. And it still comes to my mind anytime I have a major health “thing” arise.
Give her “The Moon” Party. It could be a slumber type party. (even during the day) Wear pjs, eat night time snacks, what a movie, and make it the everything is round.(like the moon) Oh…cut out a big moon shape, have “pin the man on the moon” game. Cut out a HUGE moon, have people straddle it(like they are swinging on the moon”) for pics. Glow sticks for all. Black light the house.
Ooohh, can I come?! This sounds fun!
Sorry, I could go on and on. The projects are so cute. Love ’em.
Jules
those are so so cute..what a sweet idea!
So sorry your baby has to go thru so much, it must be hard to see her go thru all the treatments, such good news the worse part is coming to an end soon. My father gets checked every year to see if his cancer has returned, it is a nerve wracking time of year! Praying for all the best for your family. Those treat containers are too cute! what a special treat for the class!
Another set of great ideas! And prayers for Alexa…she’s in my thoughts.
Charmaine
The jelly bean jars and tin are fantastic! But I am SO HAPPY to read that there are only 2 chemo treatments left for Alexa! She, you, dh and the kiddos deserve a party to kick up your heels and have FUN and enjoy life!
Finally got a chance to check my blogs…
I know what you mean about Easter

Man O Man, what R U trying to do to me……. Now I just have to have the tins and of course the stamp sets to with them!!!!
I’m glad to hear Alexa’s treatment went well, and I hope she is able to fight the bug.
I love your modern girl tin, and Whiskers treat jars!! Just awesome!!
I am very happy that the chemotherapy trip was uneventful. I hope she is better. I was a little busy and I am so far behind in my blog reading. The tin is stunning, I love everything about it. The bunnies are adorable, I’ll bet they were all saved after the kids ate it’s contents. Thank you for all the links you share with us, the information necessary to recreate your projects, and thanks for sharing!!
