This card uses- Boho Blossom, and Build a Bloom from —->HERE!
Well its the middle of the week-and I got my children’s class goodies DONE!! I was on a mission! I will post photos soon. Im on the RUN!
Yesterday, I had to fill egg’s for Amber’s class egg hunt. That was a disaster! Something simple, became so complex! I got like 3 different things that DIDN’T work to fit in my eggs.
Now WHY is it that when you NEED to find something-like a SIMPLE roll of stickers, an item that is usually EVERYWHERE when you DON’T need it, is NO WHERE to be found, when you do?
AND, why do people work at Michales have NO IDEA what CRAFT supplies are? Am I the only one who runs into this?
I mean “I” am pretty educated on craft stuff, and where things are in the store-but you can’t tell me where you would have a ROLL of stickers?! No NOT the $4 pack of scrapbook stickers-I need CHEAP, kids stickers. The same stickers I find in the $1 bin/toy section, everytime I take my kids, but yesterday when I went KIDLESS, were no where to be found.
This kind of thing-worker’s NOT knowing 1) Where something is, and 2) WHAT you are talking about, happens all the time!!!
GRRR!!!
Anyway, I made this card, since it was done with “my time”, and time was my “thought” behind it. I was in a tissy yesterday. I felt I was Time-Less! Only this card is great! IMO! 😀
I loved the sentiment.
I also never use green-like all green. Not pretty spring moss or celery green-just olive green. My unfavorite green.
I haven’t used this set in FOREVER-and love it! Plus I hate green, so rarely use maily those colors,so it was a nice challenge.
I put my blocks together-then stamped my flower in white stazon, on the acetate, then layered over the squares!
Love the crisp, clean look.
Anyway, I was inspired after seeing the colors of some of the Summer stuff at Target yesterday…….which they were totally re-stocking the stamp/scrap isle’s with NEW!!! Goodies! I so wanted in but was seriously getting the evil eye from the worker :C She obviously did not get or appreciate my eexcitement-a NON paper crafter I’m guessing.
Anyway I left her to re-stock. I will hunt down new stuff tomorrow-when I am kidless.
Today I am off to Chemo with Alexa.
I am having a hard time with the thought of parting with my Candy Carrot Garden :C I LOVE that thing! I plan on bringing it with me today for the Staff in Oncology. They love things like that. I think they will appreciate it more that kids in Kindergarten.
As I said, Alexa has Chemo today, and we are due for a snow/ice storm. I hope our travel will be ok, since it’s and 1 1/2 hour drive-in perfect weather-no traffic.
On a HAPPY note!
Kim from MFT informed me that since it is the 20th-monthly MFT Day, she is having a sale!

I know that “timeless” feeling! Very cute card. Sorry you had trouble finding what you needed! That’s never fun! Hope you have a very happy day today. 🙂 Prayers going up here for Alexa…
Wonderful clean, crisp card Lauren! Hope that your drive is good today and you don’t run into any trouble. Thinking of Alexa today and hoping Chemo goes well and she does okay.
I love the very contemporary look of this card! My favorite color is green, so I’m lovin’ the colors too! I sooooo hear ya about the people who work at Michael’s!!! OMG! Not always the brightest crayons in the box when it comes to craft products! You would think that they would at least hire people with an inkling of what is going on in the world of crafting these days. I tease my husband all the time and tell him that I am going to quit my PRN job at the hospital and just work at Hobby Lobby for the discount! Maybe I should go work at Michael’s and help those poor souls out! I hope Alexa is doing okay after her chemo today. She will be in my thoughts and prayers!
Great card. Michaels – I HERE YA GIRLIE! I never want to ask a question because no one has a clue. Yesterday I wanted to find out if they will get the new CB folders and the lady looked at me like I had 3 heads. Last time I checked I have one head! Good luck today to Alexa and I hope you dont’ get back ice. We are getting pouring rain!
I’ll check in with MFT, I heard about the sale. I’m waiting for the new Riley’s at Hanna Stamps! 🙂
Hugs to Alexa…..praying for her and for a safe trip.
very cool card…clever. Good luck with Alexa’s chemo today, I’ll be praying for safe travels, and hope that she feels ok afterwards.
Enjoy your shopping, I REALLY need to start tying m purse strings, so I’ve got some $$ for Manchester! YahOOOO!
Hope you have a fantabulous day my friend….hugs!
I have the same experience here in wisconsin at my local store. They are so stupid. I was asking about ribbon being on sale that they had no sign up but in the ad there was so you think he would have used that scanner thing they use but he called a billion people to find out and eventually had to use the scanner thing. And that’s only my story. People come in asking about paper they know nothing. Or about glue. Well just wanted to let you know you weren’t alone.
Good luck with Alexa and the chemo trip…hope it goes as smooth as can be and you are home safe and sound soon.
Love the simplicity of the card!
Smiles! 🙂
Love this card, love the simplicity of it. I’ll have to mark it for inspiration.
Sorry I wasn’t working yesterday. I know where those stickers are!!
I love the simplicity of your card!!! Why oh why can’t I keep mine so simple and elegant.
Drive saftely to and from the hospital. Hopefully the snow will turn to rain before you have to head home. Saying a prayer. Isn’t this one of the last trips for Chemo?
Ann
sweet card! I love how delicate and simple it is.
Beautiful! I love the white on white matting, and the 4 squares is classic and stunning in your signature style!
gorgeous card Lauren!!!
I know all about not being about to find what you want when you are looking for it, but then when you aren’t looking for it, it’s everywhere. That always drives me crazy. So, it’s definately not just you.
This is very striking — definitely a favorite. There’s gonna be some CASEing this weekend fo sho! 🙂
Lauren…as usual, I’m impressed with your new card. So simple and so beautiful! Sometimes less is more I guess.
I do understand your frustration with Target! I was there today and there was NOTHING! on the scrapbooking aisle except an employee with lots of boxes. I’m trying to guess just how long it will take them to restock.
I also understand getting upset with the Michael’s employee. When I worked retail I’d spend slack time wandering around the store so I would know where things were. There is no excuse for them to (#1) not understand what you were looking for and (#2) where you could look for them.
Hope your drive to and from Alexa’s chemo was uneventful and we can look forward to more outstanding posts tomorrow! Thank You!
What a pretty card Lauren. The white stazon on acetate makes it look like etched glass. I totally get the same thing at my Michaels store. Several times I’ve overheard someone asking a sales clerk where something is and stepped in and showed them myself when the clerk didn’t know. Thanks for the heads up on Target’s new stuff! I gotta go and check mine out.
I’ll be sending good thoughts to you and Alexa! I know they are all going to love the candy carrot garden!
That is a stunning card, Lauren!
I’m praying that your trip is uneventful and that Alexa is feeling fine afterward!
So simple and beautiful!
This is so simple and pretty. I love the flower.
PERFECTION! I love, love your card!! I love the simplicity, the colors, and layout. Awesome work.
Have you scheduled some rest for a day or half of a day?
In the retail world it is so hard to find good workers. All they know is they need a body to help out (if you can call it that). Since I do 95% of my shopping on line I haven’t run into this and hope I never do. Your feelings are justified. I wish I was capable of helping you in some way.
Huge Cyber Hugs and Smiles. TFS.
I love the simplicity!!
I love the use of the small
squares…beautiful flower!
Nice colors…pretty rhinestone!
*my thoughts and prayers are
with you and Alexa today….
Travel safely…
Hugs…
Dee
I thought I was the only one who had problems with the Michaels people. They should know where the stuff is they sell. Sorry about all the problems you had. Hope my Target starts restocking the craft aisle soon. Seems mine is one of the last ones to get the new stuff. Have fun shopping tommorrow. Prayers already said for you and Alexa for safe travels today.
Lauren, I will be praying all goes well with Alexa today. Also, the thing about Michaels. I know what your saying! I think they should hire people who know what and where everything is. And my Target has all kinds of new stuff, too. I was in awe yesterday. Sadly I could not buy anything. Seems laid-off DH doesnt want me making any “un-neccessary” purchases. I thought thats why we have these credit cards?!? Kris
Your card is simply perfect. I love the layout and how uncluttered it is. What more can I say but thank you for sharing it.
Oh I hear ya girl! People who work at craft stores ought to know where things are. I needed ticky-tack. (the stuff to put onto a wall to hang posters-yet it comes down without tearing up your walls.) Seen it a million times. The girl looked at me like I had an axe sticking out of my head! 😮
Hope things go well for your day. I know giving homemade things are hard to give up-but I am totally sure that the people at the hospital will really appreciate it more than small kiddos. Plus, if they don’t, they still will remember the “sweet lady who gave us a neat present”. Hugs to you and Alexa!!
Jules
So sorry your crunched for time! And my Michaels has the most un-knowledgable staff! They never know anything! I swear they are all high they are just so dopey!
Sending you and Alexa lots of hugs and positive vibes!
This is such a COOL card! I love the stamped acetate over the squares! Your creativity just amazes me!
Thanks for posting that book! OMG!! That is just priceless!! In another year you will be able to look back and see what she looked like when she was a BABY!! Priceless!
And the timeless card is just perfect, very simple and clean. I hope everything goes well with you and Alexa . .
I love this!!! So clean, and so perfect!!!
[…] my post —>HERE<—, I realized MANY of you need help keeping it […]
