you use your INDEX finger, of your dominant hand-until you SMASH it, in between the door!
I cannot tell you how bad that HURT! I actually got nauseous! I huge chunk of my pretty little finger, came off :C UGH! Let me tell you typing-OUCH! Just a continuous THROB!
I don’t even want to think of how my injury will affect my STAMPING! Oh, the horror.
My make up-lets just say the eyeliner looks like I let Amber put it on, and my mascara-definitely in honor of the late Tammy Faye – Baker!!
My hair-well that was a sight-its pretty long, and Jason had to comb it-double ouch! I now think I have the beginnings of Dread Locks. My curly hair is so not happy right now.
AND I cant button my own pants-I know TOO MUCH INFO there!
You really don’t realize HOW much you use that ONE silly little finger till its out of commission. I type awful as it is. I am now hen pecking the right side of the keyboard with my middle finger. Given how “chatty” I am-that is quite the workout 😀 Spell check is going to be saying the same thing, as I get a MORON alert emailed to me after they review this post! LOL!
Today is the Saturday Sketch. I have been on a MOJO HIGH!! I’m so on a roll! Wait till you see the Papertrey Ink release!! WOW!!! That kicked my creativity into HIGH gear! I have a bunch of great stuff done for that-so you will obviously have to wait a little to view the fruits of my labor.
Anyway-this week I have some great projects to share. Love my colors and layouts this week! Plus new stuff I bought! Can you say Spender Bender? Um, YEAH!!! More on that this week.
I LOVE my sketch this week! I was driving home from getting Daisy from the groomer’s and saw a sign for a T-Shirt place. I drive by it SO much but for some reason this day I noticed that it just had this logo that caught my eye, and inspired my design!
—>HERE is the logo
Now here is the sketch!
Embrace Happiness!
See-inspiration is EVERYWHERE! I know MY design is a little different than the logo, but it was my starting place!
I do have another great take to create with this sketch that JUST hit me! Maybe Ill do it today (finger problem deciding), and post it later!
I felt REALLY happy when creating this card, and I think my mood is reflected by my choices for it.
The sentiment from Mixed Messages-Embrace Happiness was exactly what I was feeling. I believe that happiness is something you need to accept, and search out! We make our own happiness possible. By the life we live, the choices we make, and the way we look at things.
This sketch takes your eye from the corner of the card, to the focal point.
I LOVE circles-and using them in my designs.
I also LOVE butterflies-as you all know! They make me SOOO happy!
So I used Butterfly Kisses for this (my very first PTI set). To get the well blended look-I always use glossy white card-stock, then blend my ink choices. It really makes the colors blend SO well together, EASILY!
I went to a local area Stamp store and got some DELICIOUS Paper Salon paper-Sweet Shoppe (and a million other yummies!!!) I LOVE pink and chocolate combined-so this was PERFECT!!
I highlighted the circle focal point by using the dotted image from Borders and Corners circle set. It also continue’s the dots from my butterfly!
The large choc. circle is my nestibilities :D. I puncheda large flower- 2 x’s and layered it. I then added a Bazzill flower in the center. I put my butterfly smack in the center! Like it just landed there!
I LOVE the By Definition set by Stampin Up! I think it is a great purchase for a timeless set. I have already felt it to be worth every penny! If you are on the fence I say go for it!!! Dont I always though? LOL!
OK my finger is KILLING me, so I need to run!
I hope you get to try the sketch! Its a great one to flip on the side too. I kept it pretty clean so you can feel free to embellish as you wish without feeling restricted!
Send us a link here if you do try it out, so we can all see your take on it!
I also want to share my NEW SIGNATURE!!! See end of my post 😀
Thanks to Katie’s blog-Check it out –>HERE. She ROCKS!
OK Im off-
Till later-or tomorrow!

Ouch! Sorry about your finger. I know what that feels like. Your doing very well typing though. 🙂 Oh my gosh I have driven past that very same building many times and never noticed that it was a T-Shirt business. I will have to stop in and check it out. Good for you for using the logo as a sketch. Your card came out very pretty.

Sorry to hear you had an accident with your finger, can’t believe you managed to type all you did, let alone make a card. I guess I need to start looking at signs a little differently now…just love the butterly on the flower and the way you had the dots circling it, very pretty! Hope your finger heals for you soon!
OOOHHH !!! Sorry about your finger !! Hope the throbbing lets up soon.
Great card though.. Love the colors !!
First I must sat I am so sorry your finger hurts so badly but I have t oadmit I was laughing my butt off at your description of your make up and hair..especially the dreadlocks!!! lolol!!
Seriously, heal quickly!!!
Also, when I click on your signature it goes to Paper Salon???
Sorry to hear about your finger. You never realize how much you use something until it’s use is taken away! I broke my right wrist once and was worried how I would function-it wasn’t easy! Thanks for the heads-up on the siggy. I created several to match my different moods! Get better!
Lauren..sorry about your bummed finger. I have done that before. Well…thanks to my little one, who shut it in the car door. Trying hard to not let them know what they did and the damage it did to my finger.
*Tip* soak in epson salt with the warmest water you can handle. It helped my finger feel better. And also, don’t let it hang down. I know..I know…it is hard to do that, but keeping it lifted in the air, helps with swelling.
The card is real pretty. I love the pink/chocolate colors too.
Jules
oh Lauren, sorry to hear you hurt yourself. I know how it is to injure a finger on your dominant hand! I love this card you made, and I’ll try my hand at your sketch later. I want to see a picutre of Daisy after her grooming!
Oh, I’m so sorry to hear about your finger. (Have you slept with it yet? That’s the worst.) I hope it heals quickly.
Cute use of the Paper Salon – you know how much I love that! 🙂
This card is soo soo pretty, hope your finger heals soon.
Ouchie….
Sorry about your finger! How did you smash it between the door? Car door? House door? Either way…. ouch! I sure hope it feels better soon and doesn’t affect your stamping.
Love your card and love your new siggy. Okay, gotta run! Talk to you later!
Oh, NO, I am SOOOO sorry about your smashed finger! That DOES hurt to the point of nausea…OOOOUUUCCCHHH…bless your heart! I feel big buckets of sympathy for you! I surely hope it feels better soon, maybe some pain meds would help…and a cool wrap? Ugh, those little digits we so easily take for granted are surely missed when they are injured! EEEEKKKK!
Your card is AWESOME, as is that striped paper, and the beautiful butterfly! WOW!
Try to have a good weekend, sure hope the pain subsides SOON…BIG HUGS!!! 🙂
I love the card and the sketch. I just got my April Crafts & Things. Your name is all over that magazine. Your work was beautiful. Congratulations!
This is a fabulous card, Lauren! Thanks for sharing your inspiration too. . .that’s always nice to see and get a “peek” into your head! LOL
Your card is great. Sorry about your finger that is not so great. I hope it is feeling better soon. -Molly B
I love your new signature! I’m going to have to try this. Maybe tomorrow since the index finger on my LEFT hand is burning with pain. I think that it is arthritis from what everyone says, but I hope not! I haven’t been able to knit for a couple of days and can’t use that finger for anything! What a pair we are,eh? Hang in there!
I love the card challenge, especially the color combo! Nice work!
Beautiful card Lauren. Bummer about your finger. I truly hope it heals fast. But of course being a dedicated stamper I know you will find ways of working around this. And dreadlocks don’t sound so bad once you mull it over some. A question. Once you have your card sketch just how do you go about creating your card. Stamps first, paper first? Theme first maybe? I haven’t done any sketches yet but I think it is time to give them a try. Any advice would be most helpful. Thanks.
-*Linda*-
Your card is BEAUTIFUL! Oh my word but this sketch is going to get me to have to REALLY think tomorrow! haha!

What a fun card….love the sketch!
Oh Lauren, so sorry about your finger! I hope you feel better soon. I enjoy your blog and stop by almost every day. You are such a bright and shiney person. I don’t even know how you typed so much with that pain. Oh and your Daisy REALLY looks like a different dog after grooming. I loved your doggie and hydrant card and the sketch card was very happy. I will try to use that sketch. I am embarrassed to say that I don’t know how to “link” the card to a website. I am somewhat computer challenged. Hope tomorrow finds you with less pain.
Gorgeous card. I love the layout. And your puppy is a sweetheart. It’s funny how completely different they look once they’re cut down.
OUCH! Don’t ya hate it when something like that happens. I want to do this sketch again with a different look, but here’s my first go around.

Sorry about your finger! I know it must be really hurtful. Fingers have so many nerves in them they are one of the most painful location for wounds…. I hope you were able to take something that worked for the pain (other than eating the chocolate bars from Noah’s kit… ;-)). Poor you! (((hug!))) 🙂
Hope your finger is starting to feel better! I gave up on loading my card on blogger this morning….I’m ready to throw blogger out the window and go with typepad…ugh!
I wanted to get my card loaded so I posted it on SCS. Fun sketch!

Just got to the sketch–thanks for sharing another fun one to try! Here’s my version: http://inkingaloud.blogspot.com/2008/03/bored-of-birthday-cards-yet.html
I enjoy coming to your blog! You have such beautiful ideas and you are so creative.
I have been stamping for about 14 years and you always have new ideas that I have not done before which inspire me.I teach a stamping class at my house every month and that keeps me always seaching for new things to wow them with and you certainly give me those wow ideas! Thanks! – Diane
I hope you are feeling better soon Lauren. I joke with my family that nothing can happen to my hands due to my stamping/creating obsessions…they basically roll their eyes at me. But it is so true.
Your card is amazing. Love how my eye is drawn up to the focal point by the patterned paper.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend:)
