OK, if you have more than one child, you MAY be able to appreciate this.
Normally this stuff does not seem funny to me until it is LONG over.
People will always ask ” Did you take a picture?”
Normally I give a look like “Are YOU insane? NO I didn’t take a picture”. But this was rather amusing.
I NEEDED to get some stamp stuff done. I needed a whopping 45 minutes of “my time”, or I was going to go INSANE!
My kids were fighting like well……………let’s say a pack of wild animals. Sometimes, when I have really had it with the bickering, and the million time outs, I will retreat to my stamp “cave”. Its better for ALL of us to take a breather.
I can hear everything they are doing-which is good in a safety sense, but not a sanity sense sometimes! LOL!
Alexa and Amber have been at eachother throats lately. Alexa isn’t feeling great, and is on edge, and Amber is continuously provoking her.
I am in my stamp room and hear the bickering.
Alexa yelling “Take a break. Get in there. You need a time out. Get in there.”
I’m thinking oh great-here we go. More fighting.
Amber is crying “Let me out!” as well as other things I cant make out. Time to intervene
She is screeching her lungs out, and daisy starts barking-THAT is unusual. She is not a barker.
So I come flying upstairs, to interviene, only to see this
Alexa LOCKED Amber in the dog crate!
Daisy is sitting in front of it barking, and Alexa is happily watching TV.
I grabbed my camera, to which Amber’s tears were quickly turned off, and was then all happy about it.
NOW that is a good time out spot!
Just kidding………………………………………..but you have to admit its pretty funny. I was unsure if I should make Alexa go in there for her time out for shoving her sister into a dog crate!
Lucky for her she isn’t feeling so hot.
Now these are they days Im not so sure I will miss when they are all grown.

Oh Yes You Will miss them when they are all grown…but more than likely not…My daughter is almost 30 years old now, and she got married about a year and a half ago. She and her DH visits me at least two to three times a week. Aren’t I the lucky mom? Special beyond all that I can say…love them to pieces…Yours will follow you as well…Lauren…please visit me as I have great news to share 🙂
OMG I just about PIMPed!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And just reading it I KNEW what was coming before I saw the pic…………too freaking funny (if it were me I’m sure I’d be pulling my hair out but I’m how many thousand miles away so it’s FUNNY!! *wink*)
And I was just thinking I should have called you today………………….;)
OMG, too funny, great picture, thanks for sharing the story
Hey there,
That’s a GREAT picture Lauren! hehehe Lol I know what you mean. Wowsers… glad to know I’m not the only one that gets tired of her kids bickering and fighting. I’m trying to teach my DD that she doesn’t yell at her brother. So darn hard.
But hopefully she’ll get a GREAT night’s sleep tonight in her OWN bed (been sleeping in ours since my parents were here). I was on the couch (which I don’t really mind) *grin*
Email me your addy please! hehehe

What a great scrapbook layout this picture will make! You had me in stitches with this picture!!! Thanks for sharing & giving me a laugh today, I luv it!!!
Oh my!!! if we could only do that sometimes!!!! that picture is too funny! do they make dog crates big enough for hubbies??? lol!
funny! We have those days at our house too. We do “alone” time- Each person taking a different room to be in. Of course I go to my studio 🙂 Even if it lasts only a short time, each of us gets a little breather from each other. Then we can go back to happily playing along 🙂
Okay….. THAT’S PRICELESS!
Honestly, I can just picture it unfolding right before my eyes. That is just too cute! I remember my kids getting themselves in the crate and somehow managing latching it on themselves but your story is wayyyy too cute! I especially like how Daisy is patiently waiting to get into *her* cage. 🙂
Thanks for sharing it and bringing a smile to my face! I needed it today! 🙂
Hugs,
Renee
I am glad I am not the only one – no dog crate but closets, under the bathroom sink, the dryer, one time one tied the other up with a jumprope….I’m just glad I hid the DUCK tape…:)
SCHOOL is back in session!!!!! Yiippee 🙂
Tera
this is toooo funny. my kids actually play in the dog crate. what a cute pic that will be great for a scrap page.
My DH is sitting in the chair behind our computer chair and he was reading along with me as I was checking out your blog. He is cracking up. This sounds like something my boys would have done when they were younger! The picture is priceless!

OMG this is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG, I’m sorry but I can’t stop laughing! I can totally see that happening one day at my house! Poor Amber. And Daisy is sitting there “guarding” her! That’s too cute.
That is too funny. I know what you mean about getting fed up being the “referee” all the time. I have 4 kids and that is why I get to go to the scrapbook store when ever I can!! hehe. Thanks for sharing your story!!
TOO FUNNY!!! And even though I don’t have one, I really laughed at the comment the lady above made about making a crate for hubbies!! But the look on Daisy’s face in the picture is hilarious too!
ok…that is too funny…glad you took a picture. What a smart idea (heeh…don’t tell Alexa I said that)
Love your chocolate Be Mine card below….awesome!
Oh my gosh!!! Too funny!! Ken and I are busting up. 😆 I love Daisy “guarding” Amber. Lauren, your family is just priceless.
That’s hilarious!! I totally know how the bickering goes!! I have 3 boys myself. They are 10, 6 and 4. However, I can’t really retreat to my craft room as it’s the dining room and with me being deaf.. I have to keep eye out just in case!!
Hilarious picture though! 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
Poor little Daisy, she lost her home..Kids, you can’t live with ’em, and you can’t live without ’em.. such a precious picture…
OMWord!!!! That is the funniest thing ever! I am so glad you took a picture! What a great story!
Bwahahaha, TOO CUTE! Is Amber cute in there, or what??!!! And Daisy, so precious in front wondering what is going on!!!
Thanks for sharing this hilarious REAL moment, in the life of families…it makes all of us feel normal! LOL You MUST post your scrapbook page with this picture when you get it made!!! 😀 Hugs to you, I hope you got some peace and quiet sometime this evening!
This is too FUNNY!! This took me WAY back to when 2 of my kids were playing “catch” with the other’s hamster!! – just to torment of course. You WILL chuckle at this someday around the dinner table with the whole family chuckling with you!!
That was priceless!!!! I have two kids that are at each other like that too, I fully understand!!!
Only thing is I don’t have a “cave” to go to…:(
Thank you sooo much for getting my workday started with a laugh…..or I guess I should thank Alexa. I had to wipe the tears away so that I could continue reading. This was a HOOT!
That is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. God Bless children and the joy they bring to our lives!
My kids do the same thing!!!!
HOw funny. That made me laugh. I remeber those days well. Mine fought all the time, still do but they are grown. I just have one at home, and when we are all bickering we each go to our on room.
OHHHH (yes I am laughing as well) cause OHH KIDS I OHH I am so there!!! with you. My boys are the ones who make me want to pull my hair at times Gabi just looks at them like OHH you guys are going to be in sooooooo much trouble( she just turned 1)
Ram(9) and Isaac(4 1/2) OH they are a pair they can’t live w/each other and can not live w/out each other! In the long run that pic is going to be very a story to tell when they are grown all though we have those days with our babies they grow too fast and each minute we have is a special one although we may not think at the moment.
Now if that is not a Pic to Scrap I don’t know what is!
I have a pic of my Isaac when he was like 2 he got his hands in a jar of Vasline and put it ALL on his hair.. and face.. All I could do was stand there and say HUH and laugh and take my camera..
That is hilarious! My 5 year-old daughter actually climbs in our dog crate all the time and asks us to lock her in! How funny is that? Of course, our dog is 98 pounds so his crate is pretty big!
That is too funny!! I think that would be a fun place.LOL
A kodak moment for sure…Daisy is looking adorable too….like that is my place????
OMG…this is HILARIOUS!!! I am sure Amber didn’t think it was funny and would be quite frightening to her. Isn’t it amazing what children can come up with!
Oh Lauren, this reminds me of a time when my youngest daughter was about 3 years old and she was in the bathroom playing in the tub with her 6 year old sister. I hear her yelling for me almost crying and when I enter the bathroom she was stuck in the toilet! She had gotten out of the tub to go potty and since her bottom was wet she slipped through the seat and was stuck there with her little tush touching the water! I ran to get my camera before getting her out and the look on her face in the picture is incredulous that I let her sit there that long. LOL! Those were the days. Thanks for the laugh and the memory.
I can’t tell you how many times that happened at my house……. usually my youngest son was the one locked in the dog kennel, sometimes the middle son, but NEVER the oldest!! 😉 with 3 boys born in 3 years I had a constant 3-ring circus going on at my house! now they are all teenagers and it hasn’t changed a bit! wouldn’t trade anything for it though!! 😀 except now hubby gets in on the action!!! do you understand why I stamp?!?!
Hey, this is putting ideas in my head!!……I haven’t got a dog but I could always go out and buy a cage (or two) for my two little darlings lol!!!
Yup, I agree we won’t miss those moments. Like the other day when I heard my 6 yr old explaing to my 3 year old that if he jumped out the window (from the 2nd floor) he would land in the big pile of snow. As I come running out of my bedroom screaming ssstttooooooppppppp! I feel like the Bionic Woman in slow motion running down the hall, picturing a flying 3 yr old. Whew! Made it in time! Will I miss those moments? If they keep that stuff up I’m not sure they or I will live long enough to find out. hahahaha
That’s hysterical!!! There is nothing quite like sisterly love 🙂
omg, I needed a laugh like this, this is sooo awesome, thank you so much Lauren. I totallly know what you mean about at each others throats, but what a great memory! Hopefully mine don’t like each other in the rabbit cage (it’s a whole lot bigger then this, but she poops in there (in the litter pan, but still..ewww).
Too funny!
Oh Lauren, Luke and I laughed right out loud at this. He’s been locked up just like that once or twice. I love how sweet her little face is. She doesn’t look too unhappy.
Praying for Alexa. I hope the fever stays away ans her lungs clear right up. (((Hugs))) Hang in there.
Great pic. Glad you thought to take a picture. These are the ones that are priceless.
OMG! Too funny!
Way too funny! I only have 1 child so i’ll never see this things in the house.
haha, that is so funny! My boys bicker all the time. Drives me insane. But then they have these moments that are just so precious. Wish those were as frequent as the bickering. haha!
Thanks for sharing. Gave me a good laugh!
OOH, that is TOO funny! Thanks SO much for sharing!
My daughter did the same thing on Sunday to her younger brother, we heard help, help my husband went into our bedroom where the dog crate is and found my son sitting in the crate yelling sissy did it .
My daughter, actually, puts herself in the dog crate all the time. I LOVE that other children do the same thing!!!
What mother can’t relate to this story in some way. Soooo glad you took a picture 🙂 I’m everyone will laugh about it later — pretty clever of Alexa I must say–can’t believe she got her sister in there. Looks like Daisy is a bit put out with her spot being taken up too. Gave me a good laugh 🙂 Thanks for sharing the story.
Hehehe. Now this cracked me up! 😀
And I needed a little laugh. I had a couple of days from hell! Naomi fell from a tree at the playground Sunday and broke her collarbone! Today she had to go to the dentist for cavities (not happy!) and then my air conditioning broke and it will cost an arm and a leg to fix it (and in the meantime no air conditioning and it’s still 80 during the day here!), and then I took Naomi to the orthopedic surgeon and she blew a fuse over there (didn’ t want to wear the straps on her shoulders because it hurts!) and I have never been so embarassed in my life, the doctor himself came out to tell her to calm down because she was disturbing his patients (we had waited 1h15 so she was beyond annoyed when they finally saw us!) 🙁
So thanks for the good laugh…. 😉
That is too funny! It will be a story and picture you can tell them and others at their weddings etc. you know when they tell funny stories of the bride and groom LOL. Yes, I would have put the other one in there just to see how she liked it for sure, as a lesson and to experience her own medicine more than punishment though. Thanks for sharing…it is too cute though from here.
thanks for sharing. Makes us all feel a little more “real” when we get a glimps into the reality of someone else’s life. I have three boys and that is something they would totally do. Glad to know Amber was okay, hope Alexa is feeling better.
