Ok, found it!! I just adore Daisy!! Do you live in Fremont, CA by any chance??? LOL I'd love to be your dog sitter if you are ever in the area. Sounds like Daisy "picked, chose and loves" the right family!! (I'm a huge Grey's fan) Please keep the pictures coming. I want to see how Daisy grows and I love the stories! Enjoy your new little girl.

dogs are pack animals and want to be with their people. many people make the mistake of isolating the dog at sleep time, which the majority of the time does not work well at all.

not that i'm a dog expert but when i trained my mini american eskimo for sleeping i did the following. i put her crate next to my bed. i said it was night night time. she entered the crate and would be quiet with no problems. of course being only 12 weeks, there were the times i had to get up to let her out for potty. that's to be expected. occassionally at night she would be fussy. i knew she had gone potty recently, so i would put my fingers in the holes of her crate (i was still in bed). she could feel me and would settle down.

no problems.

also, a very important word to teach your dog is "come". my example. i was walking my dog one day. she was still a puppy, maybe only 4 or 5 months old. while walking, i tripped. i fell face first and in the process let go of the leash. the dog keeps on walking and gets down to the end of the sidewalk. she was reaching the street. i finally got her attention and shouted "come. Belle, come". she came right to me. Come is a word that is very useful in keeping them from danger when they get away from your control.

anyway, my advice, for what it's worth. Daisy is adorable and makes me long for a puppy again. enjoy her!

You're not crazy. My friend, Kathay, always tells how her Pomeranian, FOXY LADY, has ten coats to wear -- including a pink Barbie coat! She has three Poms -- two recently from rescue organizations. She loves all her animals so much and has already put thousands into surgeries and medicines for the two newest dogs.

Your dog is so sweet looking! Enjoy! I'm sure she knows she is a member of the family! :-)

She's too cute!!! You can talk about your Daisy anytime you want Lauren. Congrats on your success with the commands. My dachaund growing up was supposed to be my mom's dog but decided he was mine instead and was not happy when Ken and I started dating. Can we say severe jealousy? :)

You are taking some really cute pics of Daisy too. Keep it up my friend.

Daisy is SOOO adorable, I would have loved for any of my dogs to get wrapped up like she does. Dogs are just the best especially when they are so well behaved and listen. "Persevere" is the key to training a good dog. Enjoy!

"Congrats"...on welcoming Daisy into your home
and into your hearts. Having a dog to love is so
wonderful...and you do get the love in return!
She is so sweet...love your stories. I love her little
pink sweater...and her squirrel.
You sound like you are doing well with the training.
It does take patience...but they learn fast.
Thanks for sharing your stories and pictures :)
