designer wallet Designed Wallet

EDITED: I just added the photo of the stamped/designed wallet! I did this first thing this morning to show you a stepped up version!

This uses the new set that Demo’s got from Stampin Up. I think its called Time Well Spent. I colored it with my Copic markers, then spritzed with my black marker!

Here is the inside view

I basically did a OSW-then cut it up!

Happy Saturday!!!

I love Saturday’s. This week since I am feverishly working on Christmas stuff- I figured I’d share a newer version of my “wallet” gift card holder! This one uses JUST paper/cardstock to hold the card.

Its super easy, and dresses up any gift card you may give.

You can keep it simple or go ALL out.

wallets

Tis the season, and I assume people give these out alot this time of year. I know we do 😀

This simple template can be done in under 3 minutes, after you first try it out. So you could mass produce these holders for anyone whom you are giving one to!

Here is a diagram for you to print/follow. Any questions-just ask here, and I will answer in the comments section.

Step 2

Turn cardstock to other end. Score at 2 1/2 and 3

3) Trim excess piece at 3 inch end (long end, on shorter measurement). Fold in smaller flap, then fold up, to create a “pocket”.

snip-away-small-panel-on-large-side.jpg     adhere-flap-and-insert-card.jpg insert card into pocket.

4) From scrap-cut a 1 inch piece. Score at 1/2 inch. Then adhere the 1/2 inch piece to back of  wallet.

make-tab-1-inch.jpg

I like to use my Basic Grey magnetic closures, but to keep costs down you could use velcro-or the style I used in the link above, for the older version of the wallet.

You could even punch a slot to fit the flap closure into!

Let me know how you like it.

Send us a link here should you decide to create one.

Remember this is for inspiration ONLY-and not to be used for submissions or contest enteries 😀

Tomorrow I have a really cool project/gift idea, so come back again.

A color challenge

Nov 16, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: blogger challenge, Cards

hearts a flutter My heart’s a flutter

The Blogger’s Challenge this week is a color challenge-Pumpkin Pie (YUMMY! Get’s me thinking of the real thing next week), Brocade Blue, Old Olive and Choc. Chip.

These are NOT my usual colors, so it was definitely a challenge for me. I kept thinking BOY card, but didn’t feel like going all masculine with it.

While going through my gigantic paper assortment, I came across my much neglected Mellow Collection by Basic Grey. YEAH!!! Flowers with those colors.

DING, DING, DING, DING!!!! People we have a winner.

So I decided I would go all out of my “element” (yes I really can do different style’s :D), and get all distressy with it. Tim Holtz distress inks to the rescue! It felt good to try something different  for a change of pace. Especially since I am SO into the Christmas mood-which you will see over the next few days.

The images are by Lizzie Anne-the L’amour set (sentiment) and Heart to Heart—>HERE.

The heart is stamped on patterned paper with versamark, and embossed with UTEE. Then cut out, and pieced over stamped image.

I added some piercing, and copper brads! I also ran by copper pad along the edges.

I must say I {heart} this card.

So that’s it for now.

I am off to prep my template for tomorrow’s Saturday  Sketch, and PRAYING I make a stepped up sample. Right now my sample is way SIMPLE. Maybe even too simple-but for mass production it would be considered a fabulous sample-but I want to show you that it can be all FANCY SCHMANCY too!

Oh and wait till you see my Sunday post!! I’m way happy with it.

Thanks for looking 😀

OK till tomorrow!

A Green Christmas

mytime-green-tree.jpg A Green Christmas Wish

OK Maybe not green, but river rock! Stamps are from the Christmas Card set. Keep reading.

I have a quickie post this morning, as I am preparing for making/posting my Blogger’s Challenge card later today (got some family stuff to do first), then photographing my creations with my new stamps from A Chemisrty With Paper-let me tell you, you won’t be disappointed. There is a cool gift giving idea included for you too!

Lastly I have my Saturday sketch to get done for tomorrow as well. You all seemed to LOVE a template, so I yet another one this week-only this is WAY super simple 😀 I think you are going to love it!

So in the meantime, I figured I share 3 cards with you, using Green Grass stamps, 2 Christmas 1 non Christmas, that have been posted over on Tammy’s blog.

Did you know that the Christmas sets are on SALE till the end of the month AND you can now buy them at Addicted to Rubber Stamps.com !!!

OK so here they are. Im not going into full details, as that can be found on Tammy’s blog-but I will certainly answer any questions 😀

Neapolitan Christmas Greeting

Love the colors in the one! Very easy card to mass produce! You could even use a spectrum pad.

Elegant Ever After

ever after Sentiment from Card Greetings II

Just wanted a rich, simple congrats on engagement card. Mission accomplished.

OK thanks for checking in. I’ll be back later to post my other goodies!

Be sure you check in tomorrow too-I got a template you NEED to have 😀 It will help dress up a everyday type of gift.

Oh Happy Day!

Nov 15, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards

Oh Happy Day!!

I have SO MUCH cool stuff going on here it’s insane! I’m on CLOUD 9 today.

Im working on some AWESOME ideas with my new sets from A Chemisrty With Paper, that will help YOU with more Christmas ideas-WAHOOOOO!!! Maybe tomorrow:D

As well as some other news that I can’t share yet!

PLUS

Im totally excited I won the Papertrey Ink Guest stamper contest! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you say Spiral Bouquet? I’m a firm believer that you cannot possibly own too many flower sets. Seriously!

I woke up to like 60 emails of congrats! That is how I found out! I usually try to wait up for the release but was SO tired. I honestly forgot I even entered anything. It was like days after I got the set, so almost a month ago! Between that, submissions, and “work” it slipped my mind.

FINALLY! 😀 What’s funny is I loved that one, but everyone else loved some of my other enteries! There was one that I thought would be the winner-if I won. You never know right?

So to hold you over I will share one of my Bella creations till I finish my other samples.

This is for all of you! I have come to know so many amazing people through SCS and my blog. Thank you for reading, and sharing my life, and passion for stamping. I even have a shopping date to Target coming soon with one person who lives near here!!

I know I sound like a cornball! LOL!

But seriously-you are all so fabulous and better yet supportive 😀 I gain so much energy and inspiration from everyone here.

So to my Friends:

bella friends I love this Sweety Bella set.

I have a local stamp store that now sells them, so I stocked up! LOL! No more waiting for shipping.

I colored the image with my Copic markers (shocker).

I feel honored people have actually emailed ME about my coloring technique!!  My advice is you just have to play with the Copic’s till you finally “get it” When its colored I like to take my colorless blender, and highlight the lighter areas.

I really need to take an ART class on shaowing and where it should be cause Im way clueless about that stuff. I just wing it and pray no one notices 😀 No professional here.

The ribbon was also colored to match with my Copic’s!! Hello! Fabulous idea I got from by friend

Sherrie–>HERE!

The patterned paper is by American Crafts as is the Felt red flower. The button is by Foo Fa La.

So again thanks for sharing my JOY!!!

Till later 😀

Google reader’s

Nov 14, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Uncategorized

FYI this message is in reguards to a post that only those of you who have Google reader may have seen, but has been deleted. I would like to inform you why it is now gone.

I have recieved many emails RE: that particular post, and I appreciate the support, and other opinions.

This post was done in response to an email I recieved from someone, whom I thought was asking for my help in using my family situation with Alexa, to work to aid families with difficult decisions, in a way that was upsetting to me, personally.

The reason for deleting the post, was that the intent of the writer’s email to me was not what I had initally percieved it to be. Upon recieving my repsonse to her, she quickly saw the misunderstood message I got from her email.

All was cleared up, as I went to the link provided. We have connected back and forth since then.

I am not sorry for the conents of my inital opinion in the email, had that been her intent.

Just wanted to clarify this with those who have expressed their concerns, re: the inital post. I am unable to answer and thank you all personally 😀

I was giving my personal expierience on my family situation.

I got my Dec. 2007 issue of Paper Crafts and I have a card in there using my FAVORITE set-Jolies Fleurs on page 92!

I am also so happy to finally announce that I was asked to be a part of a NEW! Stamp company called “A Chemistry With Paper“. You may have seen some of their banner ad’s on SCS! I received some images to work with today-so keep checking in here for some samples 😀

View the Design team page—>HERE

They have kicked off the opening of their company with 18 fabulous sets. They are clear acrylic polymer-made by Stewart Superior.

I hope you will check them out. I know I went crazy for their artistry.

I am excited and honored to begin my work with them 😀 Sharon and I have spoke a few times on the phone, and she is just amazing.

What does this mean?

Well it means you are going to see some rockin samples with her images 😀

I am continuing my work with my other companies as well. So no worries there 😀 I’m just adding this to my list of much loved companies.

Promise you will be needing these in your collection too 😀

Thanks to all of you for sharing my excitement. I get so much energy from all of you here, who share my life and love of stamping! I love reading about you all as well! Your sweet words, and comments make my day 😀

Now I must go STAMP!!!

Till later.

Lovely Lizzie Christmas ideas

Nov 14, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Cards, Home decor/3-D items

Oh I am SO in the Christmas spirit! I want to just share so much with all of you.

So I bit the bullet and decided to do a few PERSONAL gift sets! I did 4 sets of monogram cards. There are 6 cards in each set, with stamped matching envelopes. I feel for some “special” people, something a TAD more involved was in order.

So this is what I did!

monogram sets

I used my rectangle  Nestablilites for the scalloped layer, as well as the embossed straight edge of the stamped layer.

I basically did a One Sheet Wonder, then did the cutting of dies.

I used Jolies Fleurs for the stamped layer, Celebration Frames for the scallop punched circle, and Olivia alpha for the monogram- all found —–>HERE or HERE.

Tied at the top with some simple ribbon. I was really going for a personal gift, that can be used for any occasion. I felt these notecards were clean, and simple, yet elegant. I made the 4 sets while watching Regis and Kelly, and an episode of Martha Stewart-then part of The View. In short these 24 card sets took me some time, but were well worth the effort. I hate mass producing so was way DONE!!!

The layering, scallops, and embossing are a real WOW in person. Plus they are very dimensional, which doesn’t show in the box!

sample  Here is another view-sorry bad lighting!

A little while ago I posted an ornament for the Paper Craft’s Festival of Tree’s—->here. I said I would be making another one in its place, due to the fact it looked like a turnip :C I definitely felt this one was worthy. They seemed excited to accept it as well. I cannot wait to see what the tree ends up looking like.

snowball

I bought this clear ornament at Michaels, last year on clearance for 0.10 cents! YEAH!!!

The color scheme had to be red and turquoise.

I stamped my snowman from Christmas in the City , in StazOn on clear polyshrink. Colored with myCopic markers, then shrunk him down 😀

I used the Holiday Cheer set, stamped in red 3 seperate times, then punched out with my Giga Scallop circle, center cut out with my Coluzzle. I adhered the 3 circles together, and put my snowman charm hanging from the center.

I placed them in the snowball, with some Martha Stewart winter white glitter in the bottom! Looks just like shimmery snow.

Next up I haver a Christmas card using the same Holiday Cheer set.

retro trees

The circle sentiment is stamped on the vellum layer in white. That paper underneath is Martha Stewart wrapping paper!!! I LOVED it, and yes it was on clearance.

This card was super duper fast too!! I love solid images. You can really just FLY through a project with them. This set is a really cool one IMO 😀

I’m waiting for some NEW goodies to arrive-crossing my finger’s today is the day.

There are some FAB new releases coming from MFT too!!! But those have to wait till December to share :C

One particular set is ROCKIN!! I have some awesome stuff I did for Christmas gifts but can’t share till Feb!!!

Now that my friends is TORTURE!

Till tomorrow-where I may share a Bella card. Not sure yet.

OK I was tagged like FOREVER ago by 2 people Maria  and Aimee.

So I need to answer the questions below. I would LOVE for you to answer them too!

1. If you could have 100.00 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?

  • Oh man this is HARD! I love my paper but would have to say embellishments! I love cool new thing- a -ma- bobbers.

2. If you had to choose between using only stamps or ribbons, which would you choose?

  • Hands down obvious-STAMPS!

3. If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts but could only do one for a whole year…which would you do?

  • Cards! I HATE scrapbooking! Thats why I do Smileboxes. Kind of the same and is interactive and EASY.

4. Would you rather own a scrap booking store or have your own scrapping room at home…(can’t have both he he he).

  • OK to ME this is a trick question. If I had a stamp store I would have tons of EVERYTHING, get income to support my “habit” from sales, and I could use it ALL, anytime! I could use the stamp space I would create in my store 😀 To amke samples………..of course.

5. What is your CURRENT card making or scrapping style?

  • I NEVER know the answer to this question. I don’t know if I have a “Style”. I think I’d say crisp, clean, layered and embellished. Is that a style????

I think I can do almost any style, but like to think I have my OWN. I dont ever try to fit any particular “type” or be like anyone else. I just do what I do.

Make sense???

Birthday gift for nana-for only $2.50!

Nov 13, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Uncategorized

gift box side

Speaking of birthday’s………Jason’s mother’s birthday was the 10th. I haven’t seen her YET, but this is going to be her gift.

Jason’s mom is a very crafty person. You name it, she can/has done it. It was because of receiving her handmade cards that I got into stamping!

She is a very practical person, who loves making and receiving home-made things.

So, we purchased her a gift certificate to our local beading place (so she can make bracelets or other jewelry), and I figured I may as well make her a jewelry box! The gift certificate is tucked inside the box.

On one of my MANY trips to Michaels, I found this box on clearance (made by Provocraft) for only $2.50!! I bought it just because that is what I do! LOL! It has sat in my “alterable bin” for a year now!

But, when I had this idea, it was waiting for me.

So I basically just covered it with this gorgeous black velvet flocked paper, I had (scraps) in my collection, and then tied a bow around the box, for some elegance. This project took less than 25 minutes to make. No real stamping.  But still lovely.

For the front drawer’s, I just cut some cardstock-punched a circle in the center to fit over the knobs. To hide the white area left, I put some of my fabric Prima’s over the knobs-the Esprit collection in black, and the Vintage collection in red. I used the red for a POP of color, and to pick up on the red in the photo. Its important to use fabric ones, since they need to be snipped in the center for them to fit, and won’t rip.

box front

I stamped the corners with the corner image from Paper Trey Ink Border’s and Corner’s square set. I colored the center’s with my Copic Glitter pen.

The ric rac is black velvet, to keep with the velvet flocked paper.

I added the kids photos to make it that much more special.

I do fear that this design is NOT Jason’s mom’s style. She is more country. But I went from the photo as my inspiration, so this is what I had in mind. Oh well. Its the thought that counts right?

I also created a card to match! I think thats a vital accessory to any handmade gift!

charlene card

Once again its the Papertrey Ink Border’s and Coner’s set (circle). See that same flower on my drawer’s is in my design, and my Jolies Fleurs created the bkgd in white ink on black cardstock.

I used the same Prima, as on the jewelry box knobs.

Just a elegant gift idea.

Thanks for looking

I have more great gift ideas I made yesterday-so stay tuned!!!!

Happy Birthday Noah!!

Nov 13, 2007 Author: mytime | Filed under: Smilebox Creations

I cannot believe my baby is 5 today!

Where did the time go? Anyone know? Seems like just yesterday I was in labor with him.

He has grown so much. You would never know he is only 5. He is a whole head taller than Alexa who is 3 years older than he. He is also the “caretaker” for the girls. He protects them, bosses them around, repremands them, and watches over them like a BIG brother would. He is my OCD child-which means not only is he a fabulous cleaner (*wink*) he knows where it all goes. Yes I am proud of that! Some woamn will LOVE him someday. Plus he loves ART! So should he marry a stamper-she will be in heaven.

He is also very sensitive and caring towards others. The teacher says he’s a joy to have in class and very likable amongst his peers. He is especially friendly/patient of other kids with behavior/other issue’s. THAT is what really makes me proud. Especially having a child with Special needs. As THAT parent you always hope for the kind and sweet caring child to befriend yours. I do expect that Noah should inhert that, having a sister like Alexa. When they are out of your home though, you just never know.

So I’m happy Noah is “that” person for his peers. It’s people like that, that make this world a good place.

I am including 2 Smileboxes for today. At Noah’s request. He LOVES seeing himself on the computer. He did professional modeling for a while at Model Inc in Boston Ma till he was about 18 months. He then began to NOT like it, so we stopped. He definitely “works” the camera!

The first one, is a postcard style, easily send-able, with a photo of him every year since birth.

I LOVE doing those. It shows a quick view of how much he has grown and changed. I still see my “baby” in there though.

Hope you like it.

This next Smilebox is a re-cap of Noah’s party at the space center.

We had 11 kids, and they all seemed to have a blast.

They were able to play in a huge tunnel/slide playhouse, then got tokens to play all the games.

It was a great day for high energy kids. Noah felt so special and had so much fun with his friends. He didn’t want to leave :C

We had pizza, cake and ice cream. Best part, I only had to show up with the kids! They provided decorations, paper goods, cake and everything! Given our family issue’s that week (sick kids, ER visits and tooth pulling) it was a saviour to me.
