But, it IS Saturday, and that means a Saturday Sketch!!
Sorry Im not all bubbly. I have a cold, and feel a little tired.
As I type I am chomping away on a $30 (mini) tin of chocolate covered Popcorn-in support of our Boy Scouts. I have to say its pretty yummy. It better be right! Don’t know why I felt compelled to share that. Choclate should be the CURE all don’t you think?
I was thinking of finding a way to organize ALL my sketches (one’s you have yet to see), and printing them into mini books! Now that could be a cool gift. PRINTED though-not hand drawn. Then I can just copy of multiples in minutes 😀 We will see if I can figure it out though-computer challenged BLONDE here! LOL!
If you read this blog you may already know purple is my FAVORITE color.
I must say I was quite happy with this creation. Very “beachy” colors to me. Again it was inspired by my Strano Ribbon in ROBIN
I LOVE this set! Its By the Seashore . You can also get it at ATS, so you can add a bunch of goodies 😀 I also used Behind the Scenes from MFt as well 😀
This set reminds me of my mother! She LOVES the beach. If I were to associate ONE thing with my mom, and HAPPY memories as a kid, it would be Ogunquit Maine. We spent alot of time there as kids, and it has a special place in my heart. Her favorite movie of all time is “Somewhere in Time” with Jane Seymour, and Christopher Reeve, and Its a Wonderful Life. A must see movie a million times this holiday season!
So, I hope you will try the sketch today! Leave a link in the comments section so we can all peek at your version!
I’d also love to hear what place or a happy memory you have as a child or of your mother.
Tomorrow I will share my AMAZINGLY cheap teacher gifts! I am proud!!!
To get 16 gifts for Christmas DONE-feels SO good. I always struggle with handmade teach gifts. So check back.

Holy Moly Lauren! Awesome sketch and GREAT card! I love that you used purple…I can’t remember the last time I did! LOVE that you coloured the dog grey, not the usual brown/golden that I have seen!
Have fun shopping! I’m taking Chloe to see that Bee movie today so I’ll hopefully get to your sketch this evening!
Oh and I cannot wait to see your teacher gifts!!!
This is a very cool sketch! (and if you ever DO print out all your sketches…I would totally buy a book of them!) I love your card…as you know, I love purple too and I love how you paired it up with the neutrals….very cool card!
Hope you feel better soon. I just got over the flu (aches and pains) and know what you mean about chocolate!)
As usual I love your card.
I think one of my fondest memories was of going to the beach but we went to the beach in our living room. My mother would plan games, we would build miniature sand castles out of play dough. Our picnic lunch was always scrumptious. We laid out a big blanket, colourful paper plates, napkins, paper cups etc. She made our favourite sandwiches peanut butter and banana and we were allowed to have “pop”, a rare occurrence for us. We had a nap after lunch all curled up in the blanket and she would sing songs to lull us to sleep. I mentioned this to her the other day and she said she even played music of the ocean, I forgot that part.

Here’s my sketch card – I love how it allowed me to use lots of different elements without adding thickness.

I know what you mean about the popcorn, my son is a Tiger Cub Scout and we just finished selling it, and it will come in soon. Its expensive stuff, but its good and the money goes to a good cause 🙂 Love the card. Some of my favorite childhood memories are going camping with my family at the coast (northern CA), and by family I mean aunts, uncles, cousins etc… Also getting to go to church with my Grandmother, it was just her and I. It made me feel very special as a child to get such great one on one time with my Grandma. We would always go to eat and shopping afterwords. She would keep the clothes she bought me at her house so my parents wouldn’t get mad that she didn’t get anything for my siblings lol
Here’s my sketch card finally: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/714003?nocache=1

Great card Lauren! I love the colors and can’t wait to try the sketch.
My favorite childhood memories of my mom involved baking at Christmas time. She loved to make pies & cookies and breads. Our kitchen always smelled delicious!
