I really want to thank you all again for the thoughts and prayers for Alexa. She is a little junky with her cold, but no fevers, or progression of the cold so far. She is so enjoying school. Her reading/writing are coming along great. I hope she can remain living a “normal” life as possible this year.
Also, thanks for sharing your stories with me as well. Ido read EVERY comment and email that gets sent my way! I love hearing form you out there in blog/stamp land! I love the personal emails as well. Dont ever feel like you are bothering me! LOL! I get alot of that wording. It may take time to get back to you but its not bothersome.
Im in a much better mood today, and *may* get some MYTIME! Lets hope! I just need the ambition!
Amber and I went on a fieldtrip Apple Picking this morning, so you can expect the CUTEST Smilebox later! Plus some awesome Nana’s Apple cake from Tastefully Simple is going to be on the dessert menu! Its my favorite! And Im not a huge apple flavored anything fan! I swear-its just the best. I just tried the Old Fashioned Bread Pudding-with banana and nuts added-OMG! To die for! Ok Im going off on another direction again-sorry!
So-Another Smilebox will also be posted of Alexa! My friend Tracey found her the most perfect Cinderella dress for her Princess party (still no RSVP’s) next weekend with matching shoes that light up! Im going to catch her reaction on video! So stay tuned! Thanks Tracey-I had to peek real quick first! She’s gonna be so excited!
Noah had a great soccer game yesterday! Im so proud of him. His team has been working so hard, and each time it really shows. Im just happy he loves it!
Now for a card-
I made this card a little while ago, and forgot ALL about it! LOL! I was inspired by a skirt I saw that had black satin fabric, with white/gray tulips. It sounds gross but really is pretty.
I thought “How can I recreate that into a card?”
Well, here it is!
The shimmer in the main tulip is from Lumiere, that I painted onto the stamp, then stamped onto the cardstock.
I thought it was a different take on the “spotlight” technique. Being that THIS tulip POPS out at you. The other tulips are soft in the bkgd.
Tulips are my most favorite flower and I loved using them in this way. By that I mean colorless! LOL!
What a fabulous sympathycard dont you think? Or thinking of you?
I love the tone on tone. Gray, Black, White, and vellum. LOVE IT! And that ribbon-to die for!
If you dont know this set is Garden Whimsy by Stampin Up! I LOVE that set, and didnt get to crazy over much this catalog so want to put what I did get to use.
Im just in awe of this one. I just really like it.
OK Im off to stamp-I hope.
Check in later, as I HOPE to post my Smilebox stuff.
Hope YOU get some MYTIME!

I’m glad the package arrived, and I hope you and Alexa are happy with the dress…Shannon was so proud to go and pick it up…she was trying to work me for the crown and magic wand too, but I had to pace myself, or Nick would have killed me 😉 especially because what I would have gotten for Alexa’s Cinderella, I’d have to get for Shannon’s Belle… 😉 she’s a pretty smart kid! Sorry to hear you still haven’t gotten any RSVP’s that’s annoying…
Glad Noah is still enjoying soccer!! Thats terrific 🙂
I look forward to the new Smileboxes…”see you” later 🙂
I was just catching up with your blog. Sorry to hear that Alexa had a cold but glad that it is not that bad. You have a beautiful brave little girl! I’ll look for your new smileboxes.
All the very best to you and your family!
Beautiful card Lauren! Glad to hear the cold is not keeping Alexa out of school, prayers that it goes away quickly! I do hope the RSVP’s start coming in soon, people always wait until the last minute! Sounds like you had a great time with Amber, it is so special to have that one on one time! Looking forward to the smileboxes!
What a fabulous card. I guess I’m going to have to start looking at the clothes in my closet a whole new way! Glad to hear Alexa is doing well, except for the cold. I hope she knows how many of us are wishing her the very best and holding her in our hearts.
I have noticed that people don’t RSVP anymore-they just show up. My daughter is really into princesses and dressing up, too. I hope Alexa feels better soon!
I hope Alexa feels better soon! Sadly enough, you will probably have to call the all the moms of the invited girls to get RSVP’s – people are really terrible about them! Good luck!
What a beautiful card! wishing Alexa soft {{{hugs}}} and hope she feels better soon.

Absolutely gorgeous!
Hope everyone in the family gets to feeling better soon!
Your card is absolutely stunning, so classy! I loved the video. My husband watched it with me and he commented how beautiful she looked. I’m so glad to hear she is feeling a little better and that things have not progressed.
When you speak of Noah it reminds me of my son ‘s soccer days when he was 4. The team played the “Grape System”…they ran around in bunches no one playing their position…lol. It was so cute to watch. I must admit I was delighted when he switched to gymnastics because it was inside. I can remember the freezing cold and rainy days standing on a soccer pitch.
Hugs,
Diana
I love this card and the stamp set. I bought it right off the bat and now I keep seeing all these beautiful designs with it, especially yours. On the main flower, did you stamp it with dark gray and the stamp over it with Lumiere? It looks like you outlined it on the right side of the flower. Gorgeous as usual.
what a beautiful card! Love it!!!
What a bee – uuuu – tiful card!! It’s so elegant, kind of like a black tie affair! If you took off this particular sentiment, and/or added a different one, this could be a gorgeous wedding card or invite, silver anniversary, absolutely anything. I love it. Did you have to emboss the lumiere? and is the lumiere silver? (just read about embossing lumiere somewhere?) . I’m also wondering about the papers you used, as I can’t see vellum in the pic. congrats, great card!!
p.s. I hope your little one feels better very soon!
