WOW have I been CRAZY busy.ย
Lets just say I’m a BAD wife! I neglected to make my AMAZING husband a Father’s Day card! OMG, can you believe that???!!!!!!!
I PROMISED Jason I would make him one tomorrow when he wasn’t around. But I know thats NOT the same.
I did however buy him his AMAZING Grill! He was quite happy about that. But again it wasn’t something to “open” it was just like here honey here is the money for the grill.
I also havent done a single thing for my kids Teachers! Their last day is Wednesday. What is wrong with me?
I did sacrafice my SU! Pre-order and other goodies to get him the grill money! LOL!
Just kidding. While I didn’t purchase ANY goodies for the last few weeks HE SO DESERVES it! Last thing I NEED is more stamps (OMG! DID I ACTUALLY PUT THAT IN WRITING?)
So PLEASE tell me Im not the only one who has done such a horrible thing? Not neccessarily for Father’s day but any occassion.
I got so overloaded with deadlines, and Wedding Shower stuff (which I didnt even get thanked for BTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!) that time crept up on me
AND I have NO cards to share-cause I havent stamped! What I ahve stamped is not able to be shared right now.
I do have a card in July?August issue of The Rubber Stamper pg82ย this month though-
Ill have to “find” it in my photo archive, and share that later.
Hope you all had a good Father’s Day!

I’m sure Jason will forgive you…just flash him that pretty smile…ALL will be forgotten!
I haven’t made my Dad or Nick’s Dad’s cards yet…so if that’s any consolation. Maybe tonight after Shan goes to bed.
Nick’s weren’t made until LATE last night, and at that, they weren’t my BEST, but they’re cute…he liked them anyway. ๐
Happy Father’s Day Jason!
OMG no thanks for ALL you did for the Wedding Shower – what’s up with that?? I’m also a shocker when it comes to getting things done for those closest to me. Valentines Card for my other half was finished at 9.30 pm that night. I did get his birthday card done before he got home from work though, but only just!
Don’t sweat it! I made my DH’s this morning. And I’ve been there before- forgotten to make a card – sometimes he comments – others doesn’t say a word!
Not sure what Jason does for work – but perhaps you can sneak one into his lunch, car, or something else he carries back and forth that he can find at work. I’ve done that a few times to DH and its a nice surprise for him!
You are definitely not alone. I didn’t make a card for my dh either and I still haven’t gotten him his present. . .I’ll definitely be making it up to him big time later ๐
Lauren, can you believe that “I” also forgot to make my DH a card. He got his presents on Saturday because we were too excited to wait. So all he got on Father’s Day was breakfast in bed!! I sooooo can totally relate to you!
Robyn
At least you gave him the money for the grill… It’s better than nothing at all! ๐ This past Mother’s Day, my husband almost totally forgot me. How sad is that?? He went the WHOLE day without wishing me a Happy Mother’s Day and then at 11pm handed me a card. Gee thanks. ๐
Awww Lauren, don’t be so hard on yourself ๐ I think we’ve all had occasions where we have the best intentions of making this amazing, personalized card for a loved-one, but then something comes up, that I like to refer to as ……… LIFE……….. I’m sure DH understands and would appreciate ANY creation you make for him, whether it be tomorrow, next week, or next month ~ as long as it comes from your mind and your heart, that is all that matters ๐
I KNOW how you feel. A few years ago, my son’s birthday snuck up on me and I didn’t get a card made. He never forgot it. Then it happened again with my daughter last year. She continues to remind me. So, I try not to forget my immediate family for any special occasion. And they always get an Angel original….no CASEing. (Did that sound egotistical? I didn’t mean it to be. ๐ ) But life does have a way of making those good intentions pass by!
I didn’t make Matt a Father’s Day card at all. The moment has passed, so I won’t even bother. And, I haven’t even started teacher gifts yet either. Looks like Lindt chocolates and a gift card. I am such a slacker!
Hope the shower went well. Looked like there were lots of cars there, so hope lots of people came and everyone had a good time.
If it makes you feel any better Lauren, I finished Hubby’s card at like one in the morning on Father’s Day and than I couldn’t even remember where I hid his gift. I gave up around 1:30 looking for it and went to bed. We got back from church ahead of him yesterday and he found me and the kids tearing the house apart looking for it. I felt so bad. I did eventually find it but not until the afternoon. I felt so bad.
Sorry you havn’t been thanked for all your hard work on the shower. At least it is over so you can get back to some fun stamping. You and Paulette seem to be slowing down with the shopping. Maybe that’s a good thing because I have so much on my wish list because of you guys that maybe I will have a chance to catch up!
Your not the only one late on teacher gifts. I went to Shaws and bought them all plants except for the one male teacher. I got him a pound of coffee at Green Mountain coffee. I barely caught all of them before they where gone for the year. (We finished up last week) Remember teachers like consumables – stuff that won’t be cluttering up their homes forever.
Enjoy the gorgeous weather. Ann
Please don’t be so hard on yourself.
You aren’t a loser with Jason, Alexis, Noah, and Amber.
And Jason isn’t YOUR father
Surprise him next Sunday with a Husband’s Day and
tell him, “didn’t you know? This is a new holiday.”
Husband’s Day card (left out that word).
P.S. Thanks for mentioning what page in Rubber Stamper — so I don’t have to flip pages frantically looking and looking.
It is an age old scenario …..The shoemaker’s wife has no shoes….the baker’s wife has no bread….In our case it the stamper’s hubby has no card! I often need to stop and get my priorities in order. Yes life get’s in our way, but I am sure you know how to remedy this issue and Jason will have his own special holiday celebration with you.
Lauren,
I think you better delete this post before new catty time. Wouldn’t want those words to come back and get ya.
I let DH sleep in a little longer than normal yesterday so I could make his card. Procrastinators of the world unite! Hope Jason enjoys his grill.
Ogg to find a copy of Rubber Stamper.
You must try this card!

That is the instructions and it takes no time at all to make. Its an orgami Fathers Day Shirt. It couldn’t get any quicker or easier. Here is the link for the finished products.

My husband is a Fireman and I did my shirt to look like his uniform shirt. It was one of the quickest cards I have ever made. I gave the printed instructions to my daughter and she whipped one out in just a few minutes, but it looks like you spent hours making it.
MHO…hey, he is not YOUR father right? (okay, I’m partly joking here)…
Actually, I do stuff like this all the time. Our anniversary was last week and the week before, my DH came home and told me he ordered a new set of golf clubs…I said, “Okay, happy anniversary.” and that was that. We do that to each other a lot…
Take a breather for yourself…we will be here cards or not!
Don’t be soo hard on yourself. Guys don’t care about cards like “we” would!!!!
I made Brians “ON” Father’s Day about 5 minutes before he walked threw the door. (eeekks) (he went out at 6:00 a.m. on Mother’s Day to get mine too) It’s hectic all around!!! Year end teacher gifts we cut very close here too. I made 10 teachers a stack of 10 cards = 100 stamped cards in only about 1 week (if that). Finished the “morning of” the last day of school!!! Can’t wait to see you published project!! Congrats!!!
Actually, my DH prefers that I NOT make him a card, and curl up on the couch with him instead of going off to my stamping space.
I didn’t make my DH a card either but spent the entire day with him (I didn’t even log on to the computer!). I kept meaning to make him a card, but I have been obsessed with the cute GinaK pig stamp that I just got and also I’m trying to learn how to color with prismacolor pencils and gamsol…who ever heard of a pink pig father’s day card? LOL so it didn’t happen. But I now have a nice little summer card for my niece. Thanks for sharing your situation; I feel better reading about it as well as all the other comments. BTW, the grill sounds like an awesome gift; I’ll bet he will love using it!
I feel for you,but hey you’re so busy,I’m sure he understands. He’s got the best wife on earth (after me that is,lol). Sneakin’ something in his brief case or lunch box is a wonderful idea.
Don’t be so hard on yourself Lauren, you’re only human!! Have a wonderful week!
Well I’m one step ahead of you: my DH’s is made I just didn’t give it to him. Oops, I forgot to call my dad to yesterday.
Oh Thank goodness! Someone else didn’t make a father’s day card! LOL! My Husband didn’t get one, or a present. I’m sure I’ll make it up to him…He kept telling me “I don’t need anything” and time just got away from me…
