So I was pretty excited to get some stamping done. Sadly my MOJO is gone missing. So I needed to really do warm up card, and saw the Sketch Challenge 23 on SCS.
So I needed a quick card to get the ideas flowin-and since I bought this set weeks ago, and never used it I figured it would be cute for the challenge.
Peek-a-boo bunny
When looking at the sketch, and the images I thought this bunny peeking out of the “grass” would be cute. So I grabbed my wavy cutter by CM, and created the grassy hills. While this card is cutesy its also plain. Again, it was a warm up card. Im not lovin it. It did only take like 8 minutes to create, and that I love! LOL! I colored it with my SU markers, and sponged some “sky” Ribbon is polka dot gray from Ribbons and Bows Oh My! I dont use gray enough and so tried it out. Cute, but not my favorite color in the world. Id love to hear YOUR ideas for a color combo including gray! I will pick one and make “something” with YOUR ideas! I usually ONLY use pink & gray-BORING!
MYTIME MAIL-so here’s what I got! I dont like that set. I actually wonder why I even bought it! That is a bummer! But its the truth. Im not going to even attempt to make magic when the wand is broken! LOL! So, if YOU like it, and want it (used of course) then reply to this post. TRY to include a fun color combo using gray PLEASE!
So- By “it” I mean the stamp set. Just in case you weren’t sure what I was giving away for MYTIME MAIL. I will include this card with it. Winner will be randomly selected Friday night. A requirement will be you send me a link to ONE card you make using the set. I wish the winner best of luck. It would be a cute Stacker set. You know stack each animal on the other. I dont have the energy to even attempt it!
Now, back to the sketch. After my warm up the ideas poured out (some of which I cannot share but you will see eventually)! Trust me its kills me waiting for the Dirty Dozen reveal monthly and submissions to get published, and Lizzie Anne will soon have an Idea Book which some of my “assignments” will be published in for you all to view.
Anyway, I made this next card.
So Happy
So for this I was actually inspired by a mini catalog to advertise the purchase of CD’s. Their layout used a rainbow of colors, and featured squares with CD covers on it. Anyway-loved the strips of colors, and thought I could use it for the challenge. Just MYTIMED it, by using it for INSPIRATION not exact caseing.
So I layered strips of alternating cardstock, then just stamped my sentiment from Card Greetings in black ink, on the vellum cardstock layer. Attached the layer with 2 heart brads (retired by SU! No idea why I love them!!!) using my crop-a-dile.
So after that warm up came another card that attempted the sketch but turned WAY different. This was going to be a Sympathy card for my “boss” but I forgot to send it with her other goodies! What an idiot!
Tulips and Thoughts
So I LOVE Tulips. They are my most favorite flower! No idea why I just do. So when I got this ultra funky patterned paper by SEI called Penelope’s Potpourri I was in HEAVEN! I got the buttons, brads and ribbon to match too!
So I used the tulip pot image from Bundles of Bouquets by MFT stamps, and my acrylic frame by Making Memories. LOVE the frames. They are also self adhesive! MUST HAVE ITEM!
The senitment is also by MFT stamps and is called Lotsa Love.
HOW did this start as the sketch? Well my tulips were stamped on the left of the long panel-it then got cut and the frame was added. Then, I had the layer of tulips as you see it. Alot of maneuvering and this was the finished project. Colored the tulips with my Prismacolor markers.
The paper on this one was by Prism which is coming to All That Scraps in 8 1/2 x 11 sheets! OMG! Im so excited cause they have like EVERY shade of color imaginable! I love their cardstock. LOVE it! My supply is getting low, and I feel an order coming on! Also in case you forgot they are now selling MFT stamps too! PLUS she is getting in the Gel-A-Tins, the NEW! Gina K scalloped stamps, punches, and summer collection of stamps. Also more goodies! If you are going to order Id wait till after this weekend as most of her stuff is arriving Friday! I want you to be able to cram it all in ONE order! My basket is ready to go! FYI if you create an account you can log on and save you basket! So you can add and add till you are ready to hit SUBMIT! YEAH!!!
OK Sorry for the enablement but you know me, I need it ALL!
Now onto the last (of what I can share) samples after my “warm up”
Get Better Blossoms
OK I know I went a little nutty with the paper! Cant help it.
So here is the last one. I thought the blooms in the paper looked like this stamp from Green Grass Card Sentiments. so I stamped them on the pink Prism paper using my awesome versamagic dew drops ink.
Now you can see the matching buttons.
I figured a Get Well card would be cool.
Its cheery to me, yet not so over the top get well. Make sense?
Well thanks for looking.
I hope to have more eye candy tomorrow.
Dont forget to reply if you want that stamp set.
Happy Spring day!

Lauren –
I love your peek a boo card but would be happy to try my hand with the set! As far as color combo with gray – what about Gray, Buckaroo Blue and Pumpkin Pie. I think that would make a very nice masculine color combo.
Happy Stamping!
What a fun stamp set. I love gray, purple, and celery. Another fun one would be gray, purple, and blue.
There are some terrific cards here (esp. love that SEI paper!)…
As for gray, I hate to say it but I am a pink and gray gal too! I do try and use it as a neutral with old olive and pumpkin pie esp. when I need a guy card!
Great cards today. sounds like you have been BUSY! As far as grey???? I like grey with Red and Black. I think it is a very strong color combo and can be used as a guy card or even an elegant card.
I love your new cards! I bought that Penelope’s Potpourri paper for my daughter’s scrapbook, but haven’t had the time to use it yet! Anyway, as for color combos, how about Black, Gray, Cool Caribbean, and Rose Red – or – Really Rust, Always Artichoke or Olive with Gray. Another one of my favs that I have never done but seen is a purple like Almost Amethyst or Lavender with Gray and So saffron or Apricot. Too many, taking everyone’s submissions so I’ll keep it at that 🙂
Wow! i actually think the card is cute! I’m sure your Mojo will return :-)! Color combo with grey … I like cool caribean and vintage violet with grey!
You’ve been a busy girl!! Way to go! Great cards…even the one you aren’t happy with…I’m not relly good with gray either…hope you find that you gut some good suggstions here!
Thanks for the heads up on all of the new goodies coming to ATS 🙂 happy news, happy news…
I just made a scrapbook page using grey too. It’s not my fav color either, but I combined it with cranberry crisp and not quite navy. It worked well and will be on my blog tomorrow! http://stampinspot.blogspot.com. Very boy colors, but I have two boys so it works!
OMG! I love that set! I would use it all the time – I’ve got a 2 year old daughter, so I have all of her friends’ birthday cards to do as well as my daughter’s scrapbook that this set would be perfect for!! I love gray! My color combo is: gray, bordering blue, white, and bashful blue. Thanks!!
I use grey a lot when I am using silver. It’s a great substitute and then there is that grey guiding technique…I have never tried it. 🙁 I absolutely love this site that gives you different combos when you pick a couple of SU colors-

Hope you find some great combos!!!
I like your Peek-a-boo card. I think it’s cute. A favorite color combo that I like with grey is Always Artichoke-Elegant Eggplant-Pale Plum and Going Grey. I love the purple grey combos as well as the pink and grey.
Hope you find the combo that works for you. Thanks for a chance at a great prize.
I’m always up for free stamp sets. I have never used gray before so i would say grey and white with a pop color maybe nice. Or try tempting turquoise, pixie pink and grey. Thanks for the chance!
That set is so fun!!! Let’s see — I don’t use much gray myself, but what about (looked at the combo site) Pale Plum, Sage Shadow, Going Gray ? I loving Soft Subtles right now…. Can’t wait to see your Lizzie Anne designs — another thing to add to my wishlist 🙂
Your designs are wonderful. I remember this grey dress my mom wore with orange shoes and an orange bag…I think that’s a great combo. The other combo I like is yellow, grey & black.
I actually love that card…….the colours look good too. How about trying out some gray with night of navy, brocade blue and maybe a cameo coral for some splash of a brighter colour. I don’t know, it is hard one since I am not very crazy about the colour gray.
I love pink and grey but for a change try blue and grey.
Claudia F.
oh how fun! I just made a card wtih Gray! it was a white card with a gray bottom and brocade blue! http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/546804?cat=500&ppuser=100284
I think you can use any colour with gray realy!
I have a hard time using gray also. I did a page for my daughter’s scrapbook with a BW photo. I used gray and pretty in pink for the background paper colors. Then I used a phrase stamped in black. I might like the color combo so much though because it is one of my favorite photos of my 2 girls!! 🙂
Adorable card to say the least!! No mojo lost in my eyes. Well I actually would have said Grey and pink!! but you alreay used that. So how about White or Vanilla with Grey, pretty in pink and rose red.
I totally LOVE your card. Grey with Rose Red & Navy would be a pretty combo…I’d love to see what you come up with, with that combo.
OMG! I want that stamp set! I LOVE it! OK, grey…
-grey and black look awesome…add a splash of red for an even more dramatic look.
-grey, navy blue and white
-grey and cranberry crisp
-grey, black and white
-grey and red
-and grey, black and pink!
(I REALLY love the stamp set!)
What a great card and a great stamp set. Can’t believe you want to give it away. Someone will be lucky to win it. With gray I love blues or yellows or a combo of gray, blue and yellow. What fun! Thanks for sharing.
Wow! You have been a busy girl! I love them all. I really like the card with paper strips on it. I hate to throw away scraps and I have got to make some like this to use them up! TFS!
Lauren – love the cards – even the warm up one! I thought you did a great job with the bunny and the hill!
I really like the simplicity of the Love card – will have to try that – and its a great way to use up scraps!
For the gray combo – I did a card (not posted yet) with gray, glorius green and summer sun. I also like grey eggplant and white together.
The tulip cards are gorgeous! You have been busy! May have to get to M’s and check out those frames you keep using!
I happen to like gray with the combo of Not quite navy, and summer sun. It makes a really good masculine card. Love your work today, sure wish my stamping slumps were that good!!! Hope you enjoyed your ice cream!
I really like that card with the simple strips of paper. How quick and simple can it be? You need to enter this into the take 10 at Stamper’s sampler. May I borrow your idea tonight? I have so many scraps and need to use them up. DId you use plain or texutred as your base card?
I sometimes back an image if it looks flat and I love multiple layers on cards. There is one on my blog right now of layers and backing called Summertime. I am working on some other multi layer cards but I often forget to use greys-mostly because I have so little of it. I am gonna try tonight.
i like to pair grey with brighter bolder colors like red and navy. 🙂
Ok – here is a link to two cards using the color combos I suggested above:

I like the second much better than the first – but think both work!
I love your cards! I think most combo’s have already been mentioned but I like, Gray and Eggplant, Gray and Blues, dark or med, Gray and Burgandy (my Jr High school colors!) and of course Gray and white, and Black. Two shades of Gray look great together too! You could probably put almost anything with gray and have it turn out wonderful! I’d love to win this set! Thanks for the chance!
